Around The Block Moving

Have you ever paid $370 to move from a 1bdrm to another 1bdrm in the SAME complex? Well I did. I was quoted $175 for a 2hr mininum job and paid my $100 deposit. The day of moving, I got a text that said they were going to $75 more because my couch bad to be taken down ONE flight of stairs which i already disclosed when I got my quote. After going back and forth they waived since $75 wasn't in my quote During the move-in, I was told I owed the remaing $75 + $175 because it's $175/hr!

Despite what I was told over the phone, I indeed missed an email stating it was $175/hr 2hr minimum which makes no sense I have never in my life paid over $180 for a move-in and even those included loading and unloading and this move did not. Mike, the manager/owner said no movers would ever do it for that low of an amount. Mike became unprofessional, yelled and threatened to send his crew home even though my items were literally in the hallway, on the elevator and outside my door.

I have a video that shows how they left items in the elevator w/o supervision as if the other mover was a drive thru picking up boxes at the speed of light. I have a video of me moving my own items so that they wouldnt be stolen, Mike had me move 6 chairs that were on the quote because his crew was tired and it was getting late, which means they didnt even move everything they were supposed to and i basically overpayed.

My contract says their arrival window was from 8-10am, which then changed to 11-3. They did show up until 5:30pm! After being charged the remaining balance on my card and the rest in cash, including a tip, I was charged a miscellaneous fee of $20.50! This is a horrible company! Worst move ever! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Great work done. Very expensive for the summer rates. If you want value I would look elsewhere, otherwise a great company with great employees.

Me and my wife recently made a local move in Dallas. Freddie and Antoine showed up on time, were courteous, and got everything moved over in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend ATB Moving!

Nathan and Freddy were amazing with my family and making things less stressful. Everything was super quick and like I said made things less stressful. Totally recommend this moving company and hopefully your lucky enough to get these 2 guys! 10/10 5 stars!

Mike and Jon were excellent movers, very nice guys. They were quick, efficient, and took great care of my items. I didn't read the fine print and did not realize that the clock starts ticking when they leave the shop so I was surprised that my bill was higher than expected. But, that is totally on me, I will not remove a star for something that was my fault. They are not cheap, but it's worth the quality for good movers.

Mike was very professional and timely. He did a fantastic job taking care of my items while also doing things quickly. John was awesome as well. Great job and will definitely be using around the block moving for my next move.

The movers did an Outstanding Job! This company uses untrustworthy or illegal tactics to over charge their customer's. This company starts billing you before the workers arrives or move any of your items. This company charges customer's when their workers depart from their warehouse! Wrong on so many levels! They allow you to pay your deposit via Apple Pay and tell you that you can pay the final balance upon completion of the move! Customer's not aware but when workers arrive they request your bank card information or credit card information as your deposit was paid via Apple Pay via invoice sent from the company.

Instead of sending you a final invoice for payment. They then charge you $22.50 fee to pay your balance on top of the balance with out the Apple Pay option! I'm totally displaced and displeased with the company gimmick and unfair practices. Consumers please be aware of scams and gimmicks as unfair practices could compromise your financial security. And try to use trustworthy companies that doesn't scam to over charge their customer's! Use at your own risk!

Around The Block Moving dishonestly charged me $100 for a move they DID NOT even start! When I phoned, I was in a panic because my the morning of my move day, my previously booked movers, Legend Movers/A-1 moving company, stated they didn't have me on the books for my move, even though they had sent me an email confirming the move the night before.

Around The Block Moving told me they could accomodate me that day and asked for a $100 deposit that would be fully refundable after they moved me. The misunderstanding was with Legend Movers/A-1 moving company, who ended up calling me saying they were on their way after I paid Around The Block Moving. When I asked if they were Around The Block Moving, they stated yes, and then I confirmed it 3 times. Obviously, they lied to me, but how was I to know until they showed up.

After they started moving my stuff, I got a call from Around The Block saying they were on their way and I, honestly, thought they were the ones moving me! When I told the guy on the phone this, they said they would have the manager call me. Not only did they not call me me to discuss the situation, they did not return the 3 voice messages I left them.

When I disputed the $100 charge, they fought it with my credit card stating that I needed to cancel 3 days ahead of time and that they wasted gas and software on me. I find this pretty unreasonable and I'd like to warn anyone doing business with them that they are dishonest and cowardly for not discussing the situation with me and, instead, taking my money. This is a horrible way to do business and a lovely way to lose trust and a customer.

I'm a college student moving in Dallas and Around The Block helped me and my roommate out so fast and professionally. Each and everyone on the team were nice and friendly and made the move enjoyable. I would highly recommend this moving company to friends for future moves:

Excellent movers! Highly recommend. They were fast, courteous, professional, and just really nice guys. Took great care of my belongings and wrapped all furniture so nothing was damaged. Took about 3 1/2 hours to load and unload a 750 sq ft apartment (both locations having 2 flights of stairs). Will def recommend Around the Block Movers to my friends.

Mike and Austin were awesome movers! Highly recommend them! They were on-time and super professional. They were very polite and hardworking. They were quick and efficient with their time. 1. We advised them exactly the size of our 3 storage sheds and that each was full yet they provided a much smaller truck that would've required three trips. We agreed on two trips. My husband brought the last load in our suv. 2. The movers performed as if this was 2nd moving assignment.pitiful. I caught two of them smoking. Not at all surprised they weren't up for the work physically. 3.

The refrigerator was not set up. My husband had to do that. In conclusion, when we used this company for our first move earlier this year, they were great. I think the company had been sold to a new owner.

I can't say enough good things about the ATB crew. We were faced with an eviction during the pandemic and ATB came through in a major way. The packers packed perfectly. The movers moved magnificently. COVID-19 compliant to boot!

This is a great company. moved our office furniture.on time, reasonably priced and handled everything with care. Would definitely use them again.

These guys have become my Go To Moving Company! They have moved me three times now and it was a pleasant experience with each move. They show up on time, are courteous and show great care with my antiques and fragile items. I have a large home and they completed the job in a very timely manner. After the move was over they even gave us a nice new home gift of a Pink Coffee mug (they support breast cancer awareness) and a new key chain.

A few weeks later I also received a thank you note! That is so rare these days and was a nice touch :) Keep up the good work Around The Block Moving and I will give you a call in a few years when we buy our next home!

Dallas is a big city with so much hustle & bustle however around the block moving treated me as their favorite client - respectful- careful- thoughtful of my daughter's move at every instance! Timely - organized and took much of the anxiety out of moving. Keep up the great work! Friendly and efficient!

The two movers were friendly and efficient when they arrived. My only issue is they charged for the time to drive to my house and the trip back. I was only aware up front of the charged time to my house. Just be aware this is how they operate. I paid for two hours of moving and 1 hour and 20 minutes of that was drive time.

NEVER use this moving company. We used this same company in 2013. When we called for a moving quote, they quoted 3 hours at $125 an hour. This was in line with our previous experience and we booked their service. They showed up for the move for the 1 bedroom, 900 sq ft apt and 7 hours later (2 pieces of broken furniture) finally had the truck loaded.

Upon arrival at the final destination, they told my daughter she had to pay $1000 before they would unload the truck. If she did not pay, they would drive away with her furniture on the truck. She was alone with these two movers. She called me, her mother, and I called the owner. He apparently thought 7 hours was appropriate for the loading time and threatened to have my daughter arrested for nonpayment if the money was not received.

He was yelling on the phone and threatening not only to call the police but his lawyer if she did not pay. I am sure he has intimidated many young women with these unethical business practices and that is exactly how they steal people's money. The total cost for the move was $1225. She was so uncomfortable that the movers kept asking her if there was anything else and kept standing around waiting for a tip, she did tip them so they would leave. This is truly one of the most corrupt companies I have ever encountered. This post is to warn other consumers about their unethical business practices.

We used Around The Block Moving in May, the two gentlemen (Trey and Andrew) who moved us were wonderful! They arrived on time at our storage unit (in far North McKinney) and were professional, respectful of our property and willing to do what was needed. We will definitely be calling Around the Block for our next move because they put our previous movers TO SHAME!

This was the worst move I've ever had. The movers lost 2 Thomasville bed post, 2 ball claw legs to a formal dining room table. Brand new washer and dryer is heavily scratched and dented along with other items and several things were broken. I had spoken with mike before booking to confirm the movers would handle my furniture with care and assured me everything would be wrapped and carefully moved.

But once there when I questioned they had me sign a waver that furniture isn't wrapped. But would be once on the truck. I called mike he was argumentative and would not send addition help. It took 12 hours to move one bedroom 750 square ft apartment on 2nd floor to a 2 story home 20 minutes away. Everything went downstairs but bedroom furniture. (It took 6 hours to move a 3000 square ft 4 bedroom 2 story house in Allen to 2 separate moves to apartment and storage on my original move when I sold my home in Allen.) I had to be out of my apartment that weekend and could not find another company on short notice so I was stuck and mike knew that. Mike was demeaning, argumentative and his attitude was hateful when I called him during the move to discuss the issues.

His movers were careless and I didn't appreciate them handling my belongings over the balcony to the mover below much less them tossing boxes rather than placing. That's why my kitchen dishes and other items broken. Mike will not respond to my emails or phone calls to discuss the loss of my furniture. My formal dining table can't be used now since 2 legs are missing.

My bed has 2 bed post missing that shows 3 metals screws exposed. I've filed a complaint with the better business bureau. I hope mike will pay for the loss of my furniture and or have someone make the legs so I can use. I will be happy to change my review if mike will do the right thing. I hired them do do a job and they somehow lost my furniture!

Trey and Freddie were super nice and quick with the move. My furniture was going into a small storage unit and they organized it all and managed to make everything fit perfectly. By far- the best moving experience I have ever had! Suzette was great getting the appointment setup and then followed up afterwards. The two guys that actually performed the move (Austin & Daniel) were fun to be around, and very courteous.not to mention fast but very careful. They even gave me a housewarming gift at the very end of the move- which was awesome and unexpected :-) I most certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a fair price, and outstanding customer service.

Scheduled an appointment with Suzette who offered a reasonable quote and explained any surcharges that may apply. As promised, she confirmed the appointment with me the day before and provided an accurate window of time. She also followed up after the appointment to be sure everything was done to my satisfaction. Freddie and Trey showed up exactly on time and were very courteous.

They explained the process and got straight to work--which helps since they charge by the hour. They took care of everything and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. The pricing was exactly what I expected with no surprises. I was definitely nervous about the move and hiring a company I hadn't heard of, but I'm glad I chose Around the Block.

Around the Block Moving was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. Suzette rescheduled me when my first time slot did not pan out and called to check up on the quality of the service. Freddie and Trey were my movers and had such a positive attitude during the move that the whole process seemed much less burdensome than I had originally anticipated.

The Company definitely respected the fact that I was paying by the hour and worked as quickly and efficiently as possible, which was easy on my itinerary and my wallet. The truck came with all of the supplies and equipment necessary for navigating large pieces up and down narrow stairs and padding them appropriately for the move, which had been an initial concern of mine as well. Overall as good of a process as a move (not my favorite thing!) can be.

Thank you Freddie and Trey. You made a stressful time so much better. I appreciate the special care you gave to my belongings and the kindness you showed me. I'll recomend you to all my friends!

This was an amazing moving experience. Trey and Freddie were incredible at moving all my stuff fast but being careful and professional. I would highly recommend! Also, it was very affordable.

Where do I start? These guys were amazing! I called around looking for the the best movers when my husband and I planned our move for the middle of May. Around the Block Moving provided a completive but affordable price and an outstanding BBB rating. Plus, they have been in business for over twenty years. I knew that these were my guys. When I called to set up the move, I worked with Suzette.

She was wonderful. When I expressed initial interest, she made sure to follow up. However, my only compliant about Around the Block Moving, was that the week of the move, I had to initiate the verification. When I called on Monday (the move was on Thursday) they assured me that someone would call me on Tuesday. When I hadn't heard from anyone on Tuesday, I called again on Wednesday and made sure that everything was good to go. Jonathon and Brandon were the movers that assisted us the day of the move.

We moved from a third floor apartment (sorry guys!) to a first floor apartment. They hustled and did this move in 3.5 hours! But just because they moved quickly does not mean that they were carless with our belongings. Jonathon and Brandon took very good care of our things and made sure that everything arrive in one piece. Nothing was broken and I felt like a valued customer.

I would highly recommend Around the Block Moving and Jonathon and Brandon for anyone making any sort of move. They are competitively and affordably priced and truly care about their cliental. Thanks for making our move less stressful!

We were very pleased with the service we received from Around the Block Moving! Our two crew members worked hard and were very professional and friendly. They arrived early (what, what?!) and ready to work. We moved from a 2nd floor apt and storage unit to a 3 story townhouse, and they handled it like it was nothing. Getting movers with their own truck is a no-brainer, especially with their reasonable prices! We've had experiences with 3 different moving companies, and this has been our favorite thus far. At the rate we move around, I'm sure we'll be calling them again in a year!

This was my first positive experience with a moving company in the 10 years I've lived in Dallas, and I've moved more times than I can barely count on two hands. Moving from a 2nd floor 2-bd apt. into a 3rd-floor 10X15 storage unit was not going to be an easy task, but these guys did it as if they did it all the time. They were: 1) Punctual. (They even showed up slightly ahead of schedule) 2) Efficient Use of Time.

Most movers tend to do more talking on their cellphones on-the-clock than moving furniture. The 2 guys who showed up to move all my junk did the work of 3-4 men in around 2.5 hours. 3) Went Above & Beyond. When I couldn't move my 8-ft Japanese Ficus into the storage unit, they offered to make an extra stop and carried it up 3 flights of stairs (the elevator was out of order) to where I was staying, without me having to ask them and without an extra charge.

They also helped arrange everything into storage unit for easy access, stacked bottom to top, from heaviest to lightest. This went way above and beyond expectations! 4) Professionalism. Did not break or otherwise damage a single item. Enuf sed. 5) Price-worthy. With tip and total for 2.5 hours it worked out to be around $300. Sometimes you can find a 10% off coupon stuck in your door every time and again. I would definitely use this company again for any local move.
