After looking at other storage facilities in SF after selling my house in 2011 I picked Soma Self Storage because 1) the staff is amazing, 2) the facility is safe and secure and 3) it's the cleanest best managed storage facility I've ever seen. I had a unit there for 11 years (yes, eleven) so that should tell you something. I went from a 2 story house to a studio in SF so I needed a storage unit and for all that time I felt my things were safe and secure.

Life circumstances changed and I vacated a couple weeks ago but I wanted to say to anyone looking for storage options this facility is great - just can't say enough good things about the people who work there and my overall experience of 11 years having rented from them.

These guys were awesome. I used this facility as a storage warehouse to receive shipments and house inventory for my Medical Device Business. The staff was friendly and professional. Mark was especially great and provided excellent service and follow up. I'd highly recommend for small business or if your looking for a clean and professional place to keep your personal items in storage.

This was my first time renting a storage unit and it's been an extremely positive experience. The staff were very proactive and followed up with call right after I reserved the unit to answer any questions, again shortly prior to my movie in date, and they were extremely helpful. The storage unit is temperature controlled and very clean, and secure with alarms on units. They also offer free van use to move in. I highly recommend Soma Storage!

I highly recommend SOMA self storage. I have used several other storage facilities and this is by far the best. Nicole is so responsive and wonderful to work with. The facility is very clean and safe. It's also convenient that you can park in the covered parking. This is a well earned a five star review.

I have been using using Soma for the past ten years. Their staff are super friendly, trustworthy, beyond helpful and make coming to Soma storage pleasant! The facility is clean and safe with its own garage for you to park your car in. Unfortunately I don't need the storage space anymore but they are the first I will come back to if I happen to need one in the future! Just finished moving out of the facility and I got to say, it was a pleasure storing here! The facility is very clean and well lit, the staff was very efficient in giving us the information we needed and are very friendly. Alex made our move out process very seamless and quick! Would store here again if I ever need storage in San Francisco again.

What a great operation! From the first time we walked in the staff treated us like VIPs. We have several units at their facility and love everything about it. First of all, the place is spotless. Getting in and out is easy and they actually have parking! I always feel safe there as there is no access without entering your security PIN. And anytime we needed help the staff is right there. Everyone is friendly and professional. I would highly recommend SOMA Self Storage to anyone!

I have nothing but good things to say about Soma Self Storage and the staff. I stored stuff with them for a year and a half. The place is very clean as far as storages go and the garage is spacious and easy for trucks to move around in. The communication with the staff is also amazing. Everyone is super friendly and responsive. When I was looking into downsizing to a smaller unit, they took the time to show me around to several options to make sure I found a good one (I believe it was the guy called Alex who helped me). Checking out was also a really efficient and painless process. I will definitely go to them whenever I need to store stuff in the future.

Over the years I've had units at many different storage facilities for business, but Soma Storage is by far the nicest facility I've been in. It is kept impeccably clean, is very well lit and there is always friendly staff available to assist. Mark in particular has always gone above and beyond to provide the best customer service and is always just such a nice and friendly person to have greet you when you arrive.

I recently had to move into a larger unit then the one I was in and Mark helped me move from the old unit to the new. Something that I was absolutely not expecting home to offer to do. If it wasn't for him I would have been there for hours longer then I was. Soma Storage is a great facility and goes above and beyond the expectations for a storage facility.

Amazing Service. I'm so thankful for all the wonderful support the staff has given me, they were concerned and so helpful and making sure I had all of my needs. I will be returning when I need more storage units space, SOMA STORAGE is the cleanest and very very well managed. I've been a long standing tenant at Soma Self Storage for 16 years and have had nothing but positive experiences when interacting with the facility and especially it's Staff. In fact, when downsizing recently after 16 years in the same space, Nicole, Nanette, Richard and Mark were extremely helpful in making that transition seamless. The property and facility has always been clean and well maintained. I have had a storage room at Soma Storage for about 10 years. The facility is safe clean, the parking is easy and for me it's a convenient location the front desk staff is uniformly friendly helpful and professional. ***** The rates are expensive and they escalate the rate significantly each year betting, probably correctly, that most people will not leave because of the price increase. It's a great facility you should just assume the prices will go up Substantially each year I'm still there and would not move.

Soma Self Storage is impressive. The location is good and safe. It is clean and easy to move in and more out with sufficient loading area and equipment. The staff is friendly and helpful. Mark who showed us the unit even helped us move free of charge even though we offer to tip him in the end. I had a very good experience with them during the whole move in process. Highly recommend it.

Very clean and inexpensive self storage units. Located 11th and Mission. Polite staff and nice amenities including use of moving van.

Very nice, clean, facility. Everyone very friendly; unlike the U-Haul places and other storages I've been to. They do have reduced hours for major holidays so be aware, but that just shows me they take care of their workers

For the past 2 weeks I went in and out of the store about 6 different times and bought varies moving items from SOMA self-storage. The Quality of boxes was not great, easily damaged and pricing was expensive. Most important thing to highlight from my experience is the bad customer service from Mark- the Service Attendant Manager, as when requested assistant to the car by opening the store entrance door, he declined and did not offer any of his staff to assist.

His tone was rude and unwelcoming, along with team of staff who was not busy at the time and did not offer to help. I was quite shocked at the lack of understanding of customer service and basic help.

Rude customer service when calling for a quote location appears clean as evidence by view from outside. However I will not be touring the facility as I was turned off by the over the phone customer service.

SOMA Self Storage is fantastic! I strongly recommend it. The staff is Super responsive and willing to go above and beyond, and be flexible to meet your needs. The facility is always clean and secure which is not easy I'm sure. It's great!

I recently purchased boxes from this place and I just really need to give a shout out to the staff in this place. Very professional, and the building looks very well maintained. Unlike other storage facilities that are around the area this place gives a strong sense of security as well.

I rented a 5x5 here on L3 for two short months during the pandemic. I came here by way of a colleague's recommendation and am glad I did. The five-star reviews here are not bs, this really is a good facility backed by helpful staff. + Staff is FANTASTIC, every single person really. Karen answered a million questions and was very helpful getting me set up. Nicole and Alex were extremely helpful and courteous through various interactions, and I forget the name of one of the security guys but he was great too + Cleanliness and organization are always up to par + Easy parking and access, never had trouble accessing, moving in or out + A nice bonus is they have two moving trucks that one can rent for not much money. Makes it super easy for move-in / out - I'm a bit bummed that I can get a unit about 20% cheaper now than what I paid last month, but I guess pricing is a factor of supply-demand :/ Granted, I had no problems at all during my "lease", and didn't see how they hold up when things go wrong, but I have reason to believe they would resolve things quickly and would rent here again based on my experience.

At first it seemed like a really decent storage facility however, in time the pleasant facade waned. It would seem to be a "male dominated" work environment where turnover of female office staff is high. Interacting with staff I noticed an overbearing paternalistic attitude when instructing female staff (usually new hires) on procedures and a distinct gruffness when interacting with male customers. Neanderthals came to mind. I will shortly be vacating SOMA storage in favor of a larger facility that displays egalitarian values, one not still in the "dark ages".

Clean, not damp, large facility, many different size units are available. centrally located, easy access via ground floor indoor parking lot. all units are alarmed. climate control units are available.one of the nicest self-storage place I have found so far in SF. competitive prices.

Very well connected and importantly placed, at a cheap cost, with excellent service from not three connected separate staffs all working as one, but a portalitic convenience to the back entrance where I discreetly cone in by code, and for your needs with talk trucks another side entrance. Flexible with large payments within reason, and welcoming.

At first you might think it's a bit spendy and uptight. So if you're willing to be surprised and delighted, you might discover what I found is that there are more services and perks that you can only experience after deciding that cleanliness and modern security is worth it. The staff is actually very good! They're smart and they watch for ways to make things better.

I love the details that I didn't know mattered. I'm grateful to have discovered the best storage place downtown and one of the top five in the city. I wish that they had a program of trust that after a year of being a good customer, the privilege of an extra hour to really finish a project without the rush of closing time and rush hour traffic. Maybe they could have a platinum membership and charge and extra $50/hour. Somedays it would be worth it. Otherwise, this business is flawless.
