Established in the 1970s by Munich native Carl Demler, Beethoven Pianos is the oldest family-owned piano store in New York City. Known for our eclectic and diverse group of piano enthusiasts, our team has garnered extensive expertise in the art of piano sales and production. At Beethoven Pianos, we have a fully insured team of movers, trained and equipped to move a wide range of pianos through a variety of conditions. Unlike furniture moving, pianos require different skills and maneuvers. Our technique garnered from 40 years of experience, has proven to be the most successful.
Short term rentals are piano rentals that are for less than six months. Even with short notice, you can rent a piano for a few days, a few weeks, or even a few hours. Many rent from us for weddings, recording sessions, movie shoots, concerts or other special occasions. We offer a wide selection anywhere from vintage art decos pianos to concert grands.
If you would like to rent a piano for six months or longer, we offer both grands and uprights. With a long term rental, we require first months rent, two months security deposit and round trip moving costs due at signing. Our long-term rental option lets you apply the first 12 months of your rental fees towards the purchase of any piano from our store.

This is for their tuning services. When I called to book the appointment the phone rep was friendly and helpful as was the person with whom I spoke when I called later to confirm. On the day of the appointment the technician called to say he was running X-number of minutes late (subway!) which I appreciated. Upon arrival he checked the piano and let me know what services would be required beyond a standard tuning (my piano had not been tuned in years), and he gave me a price before starting so I had an opportunity to decline.
After he finished he suggested I test it out before I paid, which I did. It sounded fantastic. After paying the bill the technician gave me a few tips about the piano, thanked me for my business, and recommended a date for the next tuning. Overall the customer service was excellent, and the technician was friendly, efficient and tidy. I'll definitely be using their services again.
