We had a very difficult move in extremely hot weather. Our movers did a phenomenal job accommodating us with a smile on their faces at all times. Alex, Riley and Danek are the type of employee you want to have working for you. Kudos to all three of them and a huge thank you for a job well done!

Hernia movers are the ONLY movers I trust in Milwaukee. I originally used them as they had storage and I was between places for a couple months. I've used 4 different crews for 3 different moves, and they have all been professional. I have been very happy with the customer service provided.

The guys showed up on time, were really hustling but careful with all my stuff. They asked where things went & if I wanted things moved before they left. We asked them to work within my timeframe to keep on budget and they did. In fact they took extra things because they had the time. Good job for the price. I'll highly recommend Hernia Movers.

While they were very quick, the communication was poor and they did not bring anything for packing like I requested. They also did not call me before the move like they said they would to confirm, just showed up the day of the move. I even tried to reach them prior to the move when I didn't hear anything, but never got a call back. I let the movers know about the lack of communication, but even after the move, no one reached out. Also, a couple of items were scratched or damaged during the move and they didn't say anything about it. I found out later when one of the couch legs fell off. Overall, they were quick, but the communication was lacking and it was not worth the premium price in the end for me.

I've used Hernia 3 times now, and I've been very happy every time. Professional, safe, they charge what they say they will without surprises. They often book up pretty far in advance, so be sure to plan ahead to get them.

Let me start with a funny quirk: my moving crew of 4 were all named Alex. These four 20-somethings were courteous, strong, very hard working, and open to minor corrections or coaching when dealing with valuables. The crew lead has mastered an authoritative style that got results without being unpleasant. They arrived on time, busted butt, avoided any damage, and stayed within budget. Two weeks before the move, Lance did a walk through, asked questions, and came up with a solid estimate. Very pleased.

Excellent experience for our first time hiring movers. Their free estimate was specific and accurate, not to mention the lowest of the four moving companies I quoted. The two movers they sent to move our two bedroom apartment were punctual, very professional, and efficient. Would recommend/hire again.

Quick, efficient and reasonably priced versus other companies I called. And all local people. I'd use them again.

We've used Hernia 5 times in 15 years and have always had great experiences. The last two times were for moves of 70 miles. The people we worked with were fantastic! After finishing the move this last week, we could not find a $700 item. We never once suspected any foul play. We called Hernia the next morning and they discovered the item was in their truck but it got hidden by moving blankets.

Simple human error for a multi-location move. Fast forward a couple days, and we have received the item. It was expertly packed, way nicer than I would have done, and shipped to our place. Simple. Easy. No hesitation from Hernia Movers to make things right. I cannot imagine working with better people than we've experienced with Hernia Movers. Highly recommended!

I've used Hernia a couple times for moving - once for moving larger items to my new house and once for their "muscle for hire" service to move a heavy treadmill to my basement. They did a great job, listened to what I wanted and have personable staff that came on time or early depending on how their day looked (with notice given to me). If you are looking at muscle for hire just be aware that there is a 1 hour minimum charge, which may be more time than necessary for the job you need done.

Hernia was able to fit me in within 24 hours for a bulky item move. I waited for 4 days for a quote from another company, and I don't have time for that! So I called up Hernia, was given a quote immediately, and booked their service right away. The movers were polite, friendly and very careful with the item and with the houses, making sure nothing got scratched or damaged. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Used Hernia to move us across town. Best decision ever. We were high anxiety getting ready to move, as soon as they showed up and I gave them a quick tour we were able to relax because you could tell right away they were going to take care of everything and the worry of moving was off our shoulders. Top it off they came under budget for the move which was an awesome bonus. If I move again they will be my first call.

They were polite and hard working young men. They come with their own truck in a team of 2 so make sure to calculate that into the time since it is a pay by the hour service. I would rehire them for my next move. Thank you guys!

We used Hernia to unpack a moving pod when I first got to Milwaukee. They were super flexible with timing and were able to come a day earlier than planned when my pod arrived early. The guys were very nice and professional and worked super fast! They had everything unloaded in under 2 hours and absolutely nothing was damaged. Very pleased with this company (and also not having to move things myself).

I did appreciate that I didn't have to pay extra for stairs or moving specific items like a couch (I really hate itemizing things) so the flat rate was really nice. I thought it was a bit odd to charge for travel time to and from their main center but it wasn't very much more and I don't know how movers price things very well, so it wasn't a big sticking point for me.

It was also really nice that they didn't have a minimum - this was a smaller move so a $400 minimum would have been kind of crazy for me. Overall, professional, flexible, and timely moving company - would definitely recommend!

These folks are great. They got back to me pretty promptly after I filled out a form on their website. Jesse and Bill helped me unload a u-box for an out of state move. They worked really quickly, finishing even quicker than the estimated time. They were totally fine taking precautions for Covid, wearing masks indoors etc. Jesse even had his own hand sanitizer that he used before doing paperwork at the end. I hope I don't have to move again for a while, but if I do, I would definitely work with these folks again.

They were amazing! Ty and Quan moved my one bedroom. They were so fast, efficient and friendly. Quicker than time quoted. What took them an hour and a half would have taken me an entire day and a lot of stress. Can not recommend these guys enough! Will use again for future moves!

These guys were great! They finished their first job early so they called and asked if we wanted to be pushed up. They were very efficient, hard working, and polite (even to our in-the-way dog). When they couldn't get the bed frame up the stairs of our new place, they quickly switched gears and brought it up via a second story balcony. Would absolutely use their services again and recommend to a friend!

Hire these people. They moved my whole house full of stuff. They did the job for the price they quoted in the time they estimated. I like it that they have employees and not temp workers. That means they get benefits. They were efficient and careful with the stuff that did not get packed well. The only small thing that happened was a broken drawer from a small cabinet. They fixed it so well that I can't tell it was ever broken. I trust this company.

My movers ended up having to take apart my bed frame to be able to move it through some narrow stairways, but they made sure to communicate that with me and then reconstructed it for me at the new place. They were also transparent about the cost and didn't charge me for the ~15 minutes where they were waiting to receive some equipment they needed. I ended up paying for 2.5 hours even though I was expecting to pay for the full 3. Highly recommend!

After a rocky start to my moving day, Hernia movers finished it with a bang. Abdul and Jack were so kind and efficient, had my entire haul to my 3rd floor walk up in less than an hour! I've heard the best things about this company and its all true. Will hire again! Service: Moving-related packing

I would highly recommend Hernia Movers. Every person I talked to recommended them so they are a track record of solid work. Their pricing was the most competitive and their work was high quality.

A HUGE thank you to the guys that helped my family on our recent move. My happiness started when I called to check on availability; the person on the phone was polite, professional, and asked super helpful questions to get us set for the move. I was quoted an amount that was more than I had planned, but was ready to pay for the 6 or 7 hours it would take to get the job done.

Because really, who likes moving? And after all the times I've moved, I was paying for the help. My Friends are amazing! But friends don't help friends move. Unless you're 20 something and then you just don't know any better nor can you afford movers. Moving day arrives, so we were well prepared and had boxes and furniture ready to load.

Well mostly. You know how it is. You THINK you're packed, but them you open a cabinet or drawer and suddenly you have 3 more boxes to pack! GAAAHHHHH! Sorry, I digress. So yeah, we were wanting to minimize the time we would have to pay for our movers. Then the three guy crew showed up. And we looked at each other with an "Ohhhhhhhkaaaayyyyyy. " cause honestly they didn't look like much.

I think one was not much bigger then Mom and was about 150 lbs soaking wet. But! they hauled a** with the boxes and furniture. All while being careful and we had zero damage to house (on both ends of the trip) nor furniture. They were polite and asked questions but were never overly "friendly" or intrusive. AMD THEN they finished the job 2 hours faster than quoted! Happy (exhausted) dance! Heaven forbid I ever move again! But if I must, Hernia Movers will be my first call. While sobbing.

2 Men and a Truck could not move my massive sectional couch into my condo after I had someone come to my house to determine if it could or could not be moved. I was told the job could be done and could be done through a balcony, since the couch was too long to fit through the door in my hallway. So on move in day when the movers refused to try and move the couch I was left stressed out and out of options.

I was then quickly referred to not only by my realtor but also other moving companies in the Milwaukee area that Hernia Movers could get the job done. And let me say they did just that. Not to say this was an easy task because it certainly was not moving a couple hundred pound 10' section and another 9' section through a small balcony door, but the guys made it happen professionally, quickly, and with quality. I can't thank them enough!

Unfortunately I had a bad experience with Hernia Movers. I chose them based on a referral, so I was very surprised when it turned out to be a bad move. The 2 guys showed up on time and were super friendly, but from the beginning it was apparent that they weren't going to be careful with my possessions. I must have told them 6 times that I just bought my living room furniture, and can they please take care of it, but they were slinging it around uncovered like it was junk. Lo and behold, it showed up at the other end with some deep gouges in it along with some nicks.

To make matters worse, what was probably a 3 hour move ended up being a 5 hour move, as their motivation and speed started slowing down near the end. In the end, I paid over $700 to have a couple guys slowly and methodically gouge my custom walnut furniture, ding up picture frames, pull veneer off of some speakers, and poke a hole in my pillow top mattress.

I understand that things happen, but with a little care it wouldn't have. They've promised to repair the furniture and mattress, but after 3 weeks of slow callbacks and staying home for repairmen, I have a half-repaired TV stand and the feeling that I'm being strung along. Avoid.

Hernia Movers are fantastic. My parents moved yesterday to Senior Living. They made a stressful situation go very smooth and easy for us. Very efficient. I strongly recommend them for your move.

Hernia Movers are fantastic and I recommend them without reservation. We have now used them three times - twice for cross-town moves and once to unload a truck after a cross-country move. Every time they have been professional, speedy, friendly, and have done a wonderful job. They have earned my loyalty as the only moving company I will recommend or call.

These guys are the best! This is the third time we've used Hernia Movers to move our college age daughter from apartment to apartment. They are always so fast and hard working, that I feel guilty standing around! Patrick and Jackson did the work on this move and they were delightful. It was a big move, on the third floor with no elevator and they worked nonstop.

I have been wary of trying local moving companies (due to the obvious horror stories out there). Recently moved from one apartment to another with a decent amount of furniture and used Hernia movers. I decided to give this company a shot due to the reviews here, and most movers are pretty similarly priced. I was able to get a quote and book over email which was nice, and the movers came a bit earlier than their stated time (fine by me!). Sam and Jackson were kind, careful, while still being quick.

They came well prepared with all the right equipment to move bigger furniture much safer and easier than I would have. There was a small mix up in hourly rate that I noticed after the move, but I contacted David in the office who cleared this up same day which I appreciated. Would use again in the future and encourage others to do the same.

They came when they promised, did what they said they'd do, and charged what they said they'd charge. The two guys who did the work were some of the most helpful and organized movers we'd ever dealt with. And we've dealt with many. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for, right?

This was an interesting experience. I hired Hernia Movers to move my apartment contents one floor up, a pretty easy job. I was in town for 48 hours to make the move. Things got off to a rough start. In addition to being 30 minutes late (I had to call to ask where the movers were), the lead guy could not have been more hostile. I asked him why they were 30 minutes late and he *yelled* at me and told me to "drop my attitude" or they would be happy to leave.

I asked if they would like to come in and see the apartment to see what was left to move and he told me "to calm down and let them do their job or they would be happy to leave." I asked if we could start over by asking his name (Jeremy) and tried to get him to calm down. As a single woman, I was actually very scared. He knew he had me in a vulnerable position of needing the service and if he bullied me enough he knew I would be trapped.

I went to my apartment that I was moving into and broke down in tears. I was scared and already stressed about my move. I wasn't sure what to do. Luckily, the two other movers - Will and Marquon (spelling?) - were VERY kind. They immediately came up and apologized for his behavior and tried to kindly help out the rest of the move. These two saved the move and did a fantastic job; it was unfortunate that their colleague completely sacrificed the whole experience with his misogynistic ways. Jeremy (the scary bully in the story) hesitantly apologized at the end.

The move took less than two hours and they didn't break a single thing. I wish it had started off better and that Hernia would have sent someone more professional. I would actually use them again but would specifically request not to have Jeremy move because I felt unsafe.

The first time we used Hernia we were impressed on how professional, efficient and speedy the crew had been for our move. Even though the rates went up, we decided to hire Hernia again for our move in August; this time it was the opposite experience. The day started off wrong and continued to go downhill. The crew was late by 30 minutes - we called their office to get an estimated time of arrival and the receptionist said they had just left the facility; we had to wait another 30 minutes before they showed up and they even tried to charge me based on the original time (even though receptionist confirmed they left 30 min late)! Contrary to the first move, we moved 90% of the boxes ourselves and all that was three rooms of furniture and 10 boxes.

When the crew assessed the job, I heard nothing but complaints the entire time and doubts (e.g. "I don't think we are going to be able to get the couch out of here"). Throughout the process, crew members were lazy and continuously took breaks, including both coffee and smoking (only an hour into the job), this was unnerving since I'm paying for this time.

Although we had done much more of the move (most boxes and all decorations/fragile items - entire kitchen & TVs), this move ended up taking the same amount of time. They also wrote down one rate and total charge which was signed but then went back to the office and charged a higher total. Finally, in terms of care- this team apparently didn't believe in pads and/or protecting the furniture as nearly every single piece of furniture was dinged or damaged in some manner.

I spoke with Lance at the office and the only "reimbursement" provided was to come color in some of the dings in the wood (did not fix tears in leather, repair wood or pay for replacement). I will not be using them again and do not recommend them.

We had the inconvenience of having to move twice in a short period of time. One move out of all of our belongings into storage at a short-term residence, then a move out of there three weeks later into our new home. Hernia Movers charges by the hour, and weekend rates are a bit higher than during the week. The timer starts from when the truck leaves their property to head to your address.

They gave us a window of arrival time, sort of like the cable company does. Two young men arrived and were very efficient in moving our things out of our condo into the truck. Their mastery of packing items into every nook in the truck really put my Tetris skills to shame. The same two young men arrived three weeks later to move our stuff into our new home.

We weren't able to get the move date we wanted for that trip, but we did get one a few days later. During both moves they were polite and quick, and everything went well. This is the first time I've hired professional movers, but I would have no qualms about hiring Hernia again.

Solid moving company. They moved us as efficiently as possible. I was quite frustrated at first because I had inadvertently thought they were scheduled for my move when they were not. Although I hung up the phone and got upset Hernia kept cool, calm and collective and assisted in rescheduling me. It all worked out in the end and they came and knocked out what little I had left to move. This is a great business in the Riverwest area that serves Milwaukee correct. I will use them again if need be.

These guys were great! We moved a few weeks ago and they did a fantastic job. Hard-working, polite, and efficient We aren't planning on moving again soon, but when we do we would not hesitate to use them again

These guys were absolute Pros! So chuffed with my move. They made everything very easy and seamless. From the moment I booked them they sent me a moving pack so I could plan ahead. They wrapped everything and took great care with some of the furniture that holds sentimental value. All round good group of guys as well. Very polite and courteous. Worth every penny!

The reality of moving is that no one likes it. You get all excited about being in a new place, but actually moving really sucks. Moving with Hernia made the whole experience a hundred times better. I didn't even need a drink after it was over (but I did anyways). I would definitely recommend Hernia for anyone moving in Milwaukee. From beginning to end, the team was professional and very helpful.

What really stood out to me was that they charge by the hour. As someone who moved from the East Side to Downtown (less than 3 miles), this was perfect for me. A few other things that I really liked: - They were responsive! All my emails, including the initial quote request, were responded to within two business days. - After I requested a quote, they did not overwhelm me with calls and emails asking if I was interested, or when I'd be scheduling my move. - On the day of the move, I was given ample notice that the team was running a bit behind and then was updated when they were on their way. - The movers were incredibly quick!

It took a bit to move out of my old apartment (mostly due to the fact that the elevator is smaller than a closet), but they moved me into my new apartment in less than an hour! - My items were unloaded according to room, and everything was handled with care. Bottom line: They're great. I'll definitely use them again for my next move.
