I purchased an organ speaker from them a few years ago and wanted to upgrade. They have a nice selection, but unfortunately the cost was more than I budgeted for. They stock pre-owned Hammond organs too. I'm not into pianos, but those who are will find a wide variety of styles and prices. Kap also restores and moves them too.

This place is phenomenal! Great selection! In addition to great pianos they also have alot of nostalgic music boxes, euclid beach music pieces, Nickelodeons, ventriloquist antique dolls, ornate furniture & office desks, all one of a kind and all for sale! Mike is very knowledgeable and does not pressure you. He's a wonderful guy. I purchased a beautiful new Weber baby grand from this store and am very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend! Francis, the black labrador dog is friendly and was a pleasure to meet!

This is a great place to buy or rent a piano. I went to Bill Kap looking for a used piano for myself. I mostly sing but wanted to start playing again as well and I'd been limping along with an electronic keyboard for too long. If you're renting an apartment an electronic keyboard makes sense. But when you settle down, a piano is a member of the family.
Bill Kap piano has a selection of pianos so vast and so unusual that I literally became speechless. If you need a player piano, this is the place to go, and really, who doesn't need a player piano? But this place has incredible instruments anywhere from top of the line grand pianos to humble spinets. Mike Kap was incredibly nice and patient. They have a whole bunch of music for you to try out the various pianos and I highly recommend that you do that because the feel of a piano is important too.
But it's the extra stuff that slayed me. He has an Orchestrion from the 1920's, one of only a few in the world, like a giant piano with a whole band inside. He has giant music boxes that play calliope music. The guy should charge admission. Full disclosure: I did not end up purchasing a piano from Bill Kap piano because it turned out that my neighbor literally across the street was actually giving away the exact piano I wanted for free which was a 100 year-old giant upright grand.
They don't even really sell those very much in stores because nobody wants them, they weigh a ton and they're prone to arthritis. But you can't argue with Fate. However, I had a delightful experience working with Mike Kap and with Dan too. The place is like something out of a fairy tale. If you're sort of a boring person with no sense of poetry or romance then maybe this place isn't for you but I can say that visiting Bill Kap piano on two separate occasions was the best two days of this whole long 2020-2021 nightmare (note: Bill Kap the actual person is no longer in this dimension so if you had a bad experience with him that may be why).

I dont give 5 stars normally usually 4 for amazing service because there is always room for improvement. with that being said Mike Kap earned the extra star. I had them move a piano in october and tune it before xmas. Move and tune were done in a timely manner. I noticed a key that was missing half the dampener(key was causing issues before the move and tune). Mike was able to have me stop by the store and find a new piece and show me ideas for my grandmas old upright piano. not only is he exceptional in piano sales and upkeep he showed me around the store and some of his wood work he has done with pianos. Customer service is huge to me because i worked in sales before getting into the medical field and he earned my business and referrals

Went here to make a purchase. They would not give me an invoice for an exact amount due when the item was ready. I was concerned, but thought I could trust because of a "good reputation". When I returned to pick up the item, the dollar amount was much higher than we had discussed. Bill and his son tried to manipulate me into paying the high amount by feeding me a load of crap.
I refused and was yelled at by both and basically treated very badly. I was very disappointed because I always wanted to do business with Kap. I will never, never return or make any purchases again. I would warn anyone who plans to---be cautious.

These guys are gigantic jerks! They recently tuned a piano for my roommate and I. They told us that the piano would have to get tuned again in a month. We agreed to tune it anyway because he said he would be able to get it in tune for now. Later that day after he tuned it, we went to play it and It was very out of tune. When we called to talk to them about it, one guy yelled at us and berated us.
We then called Bill Kapp himself, hoping he would be reasonable, but he was just as rude and insulting and refused to tune it right, like they promised to do the first time. What a waste of $145 (he also said it would cost $130, but after tuning it they upped the charge). These people are rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional. DO NOT USE THEM!

This is an awesome old-school piano store. They have many high-end new and used grand pianos, and a great selection of used pianos. We were in the market for a gently used upright and stopped by their showroom where they had at least 30 used uprights available. We found a great one, and they offered us a great price and free shipping the next day. They also sell used player pianos, organs and piano lights. Highly recommended!

Negative stars. Horrible experience. Bill Kapp was unfortunately VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, condescending and does not hold himself accountable for services he advertises as providing. Driver for pickup three hours late - no calls. Called owner to find out what happened and question why neither pickup nor delivery location were called. Reply I got "I don't know where they are.
You want to call them and find out?" - not my job to keep track of your drivers! Refused to give any discount and never even offered an apology. Worst part of it was I had to keep the apt because I didn't want to inconvenience the person that was expecting the piano to be moved from their house. Bill Kapp lied twice about not having my number and could care less about anyone's time but his own.
This is the first negative review I've ever written on a company bc it is not my style to do that. But this experience was so off-putting I am writing as many as possible. $325 went to dishonest business practices. I've never been treated so horribly as a customer in all my life. I plan to visit Mr. Kap and deliver this review in person, as well.

Bill Kap honors the manufacturers warranty. Bill Kap has been in the same location doing business for over fifty years. There is plenty of NOS, "new old stock" pianos on his floor that can be bought well below their retail price. I would definitely recommend this business to all my friends and family.

Bill Kap Piano has the largest selection of pianos I've ever seen. The craftsmen that are employed there restore vintage pianos and pay special attention to every detail. I've seen first hand the attention to detail these people pay to every new and used piano that passes through their doors. Definitely a must stop if your considering purchasing a piano.

Travelled 100 miles to this store. Met by salesman, Lou, and Bill Kap. Spent about an hour looking at pianos, and finally found one I liked. Lou and Bill said it was a "brand new " piano, that came with a 10 year warranty. Put down a deposit, and piano was to be delivered a few days later, "by noon", according to Bill. Delivery day arrived, and at 2:00 pm, still no piano.called Bill, who said "I lie a lot!" Turns out, that's the only thing he did tell the truth about!
Piano arrived with no warranty info, so once again, I called Bill, who said he'd "send that out to me." Never arrived, so I called the Weber piano company to activate the warranty. Gave them the serial number, and was told that my "brand new " piano was manufactured in 1998, making it 18 y/o! And the tuning that was supposed to happen before it left the store?
Local tuner said that never happened, even though Bill said he "watched the tuner work on it!" Run.do not walk away from this store! Lies and really shoddy business practice! Do not be fooled by age of his business.just means he's been ripping people off for years. Not sure how he can honor a manufacturer's warranty when he wont even respond to an email! If a piano is being sold as New old stock (NOS), it should be represented that way at point of sale.my piano was represented as "brand new with a 10 year warranty."

This is a wonderful piano store. The owners are quirky in the wonderful way that many music store owners are. They have a pretty impressive collection of pianos, ranging from budget to Steinway/Knabe/Mason & Hamlin. Their collection of historic instruments is most unusual; they have Ampico player grands and some beautiful late 19th century examples (incl Steinway).
They also have an unparalleled collection of historic instruments, from music boxes to very unusual player combos, i.e. a combo player piano/violin, a sort of calliope/piano, and others. Very gracious, friendly, and willing to show you some of the treasures they have, both for sale and for display.

As I was passing through the University Circle area I drove past one of my favorite ole' businesses, BILL KAP PIANO CO. I think the first time I met Bill was probably in the 1970's. You truly have to appreciate his sense of humor, which is wonderful! More importantly though, he is probably one of the wisest piano persons' in the piano business. Sure he has a great line of pianos, but if I need a key or almost any part, I know his huge inventory probably has it in stock. Thank you Bill for superb service!
