Gar Hing Moving

Unfortunately due to scheduling circumstances out of my control I eventually was not able to use this company. However, I will say that the whole booking process was seamless. Luna was very accommodating and responsive. They were recommended by a friend and I've heard nothing but good things. Luna went above and beyond to try and help accommodate my schedule, even just a few days prior to moving. Really appreciate it, even if I didn't get to utilize your services.

Gar Hing is GREAT! I have moved with them three times and they have been exceptional each time. They are fast, honest, and gentle with personal items. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!

I enthusiastically recommend Gar Hing Moving, as they did an impeccable job with our recent apartment move, not to mention that they were reasonably priced, calm, and punctual. I've had several relocations within NYC and this by far went the smoothest. I had learned of Gar Hing from a former boss at work, who'd hired them to move him and his family.

I evaluated over a dozen moving companies and selected Gar Hing because of the perceived value that I was getting relative to the price I was paying. We sent Gar Hing Moving (garhingmoving@gmail.com) a detailed list estimating the key furniture and number of boxes we had, and also requested their assistance in packing our kitchen. Luna responded with an estimate and we also did a walk-through of the apartment via FaceTime so she could see easily what belongings we had.

We were pretty exact about the amount of items we had and the amount of time the move would take, which was about 2.25 hours in the same neighborhood. The final price was exactly as quoted. We had a few other questions in the days preceding our move, and Luna was always patient and quick to respond to my emails, and also sent my apartment building the COI well in advance. Overall, I was very pleased with the service.

The crew of three arrived exactly on time; they spoke both English and Chinese; and while I was happy (or anxious) to lend a hand, they jokingly said that I should let them handle everything because they are more careful than I am. And they were right! It appears all our belongings are accounted for and we haven't noticed any imperfections or damages. The experience was seamless and I was delighted to provide a 20% tip. I'd definitely consider hiring Gar Hing Moving again.

I've used Gar Hing Movers on many occasions, and they've always been exceptional. This last move was complicated, had many drop-off places and everything was done perfectly. They arrive in time (if not early) and are swift and careful with one's belongings. They wore masks and were appropriately cautious in this time of Covid. I'd also like to mention Luna in their main office. She was great in making arrangements, made everything as uncomplicated as possible and got all the necessary COIs out quickly. Well done!

Just moved from Long Island City to Long Island and Gar Hing was fantastic from start to finish. The team arrived early to assess the move and followed the building's guidance for the move and elevators. The movers were professional, polite with great personalities. It was a hot and humid but they persevered through it all. No damages, no issues, and super fast.

The value you get when you hire Gar Hing is amazing. I have moved 5 times in 10 years, and will never use another company other than Gar Hing in the future. Luna in the office was very responsive with the quote and dealing with the COI and confirming times and even the day before the move. I was referred to them by a close friend and HIGHLY recommend Gar Hing for local and long distance moves. My move was 75 miles and they were GREAT!

Good movers. They arrived on time and was prepared with hand trucks and Dolly's and big truck 3 old guys but were very strong and professional Only thing I didn't like they tell you a price on the phone and then when they done it's a different price. Almost $200 difference. Other than that everything was smooth

Wasn't happy with their estimate. Wanted to charge me for tolls and parking tickets. I didn't end up using them. I did have a friend who used them and was happy with their packing services and move.

So impressed with this company! Such a kind, friendly and respectful team. They arrived 45 minutes early and didn't complain once in the 4 hours it took them to move out of a 4th floor walk-up and into a 2nd floor walk-up. Very well-priced as well. Moving is never easy or fun, and so happy to have found a partner that made it that much better!

I used them 3 times since 2005. Shirley and her team are fantastic. The prices are good, and they pack for me for an additional nominal fee. I'm hoping to move again, as soon as I come off an apartment list, and I will use them again. They pack beautifully, and don't take long. My furniture is in great condition, before and after the move.

I searched far and wide for a moving company to assist in a 1 bedroom move to a location less than 5 miles away. After speaking with over 6 companies and getting extremely high quotes or being asked to pay upfront, I decided to try Gar Hing upon the recommendation of a friend. I am SO GLAD I hired Gar Hing. They showed up 30 minutes early, moved out my stuff within 45 minutes and had it delivered to my new place within 1 hour.

The entire process started at 2:30pm and ended by 4pm. They were extremely professional, wrapped all of my furniture and moved it carefully to avoid scratching walls or breaking things. They also took apart my huge queen bed frame and reassembled it at the new place. All of my belongings, including fragile glass items arrived in perfect condition.

I highly recommend Gar Hing moving. I am not sure why they don't have more reviews on Yelp but they should be on top of the list of top notch companies in my opinion. Thank you Gar Hing and Luna for your help during a stressful time. I will be sure to use you again anytime needed.

I was recommended to Gar Hing by a friend who has used them several times, and I'm so glad she told us about them. The rates were really reasonable and the team is really easy to work with. Luna and Shirley helped me to book the move. They were helpful both over the phone and through email, and easily provided the COI as required by the buildings.

We had a pretty large move (about 60 boxes and furniture) with a lot of old furniture we wanted them to dump also. We had the elevator reserved from 9-12 at our old place and 1-4 in our new place, but they were so quick and efficient that they were finished by 12:30! And that's with them waiting to use the elevator at the new place because they were so early.

The movers brought blankets, tape, etc and none of that costed extra. There might be a slight language barrier - one of the guys spoke really little English but the other two were fine. I would definitely use Gar Hing again in the future.

I used them twice. first time was not bad 4 years ago but second time a year ago the workers changed. it was such a awful experience for us! We mentioned to them twice to remind them how much furniture and boxes we have Please bring their biggest truck. The lady that told me they will, but twice from our experience never happen! we end up had to move ourselves for a week! and they always raise up the price in the end of the day after moved. WHat the.even my friend was complaint to me about the company. Especially the owner tall skinny guy. he has attitude! never use or recommend them again! PS: their cloths to cover our furniture was dirty too!

Used Garhing today to move a number of items from Brooklyn to Long Island. I had called and spoken with Luna for an estimate and to set up the move. The movers arrived on time, got everything wrapped and on the truck quickly and delivered everything in perfect condition a few hours later. No issues, no funny business with pricing, which was very reasonable. I would definetly use them again and would recommend them.

Love Gar Hing. I've used them in 4 different moves over the last few years, from uptown to downtown, Manhattan to Queens and back, and they are the nicest, most efficient, and least expensive option I've found compared with other moving companies, quoting prices at nearly half of the non-Chinese movers. I speak Cantonese with them so that helps tremendously. Will not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to others.

We've used Gar Hing moving 5+ times in the last 10 years for moves in NJ and NY. They are fast, professional, and at a very competitive cost. Have your list of items ready when you call. The past several times we've used their packing service. They spend a few hours packing in the morning and still have you moved-in by mid afternoon. Even if you don't use their packing service, all furniture is carefully wrapped in thick protective blankets. I've seen other companies taking their time on moving day, but these guys never stop hustling. They also offer temp storage.

Best movers I have ever used. Arrived exactly when they were supposed to and had me out of my apartment in a little over an hour. No drama, no extra charges, and very attentive to detail- they disassembled my furniture and reassembled it without any problems. Super fast and really nice guys. Would definitely use them again.

Recommended by a friend, these guys are about as fast as movers could be. They managed to empty two apartments in less than 90 minutes and finished moving everything into the new apartment within 2 hours. They were about 4 men working, each disassembling furniture and stacking various boxes with every load. Despite the heavy furniture and random walkups, they moved swiftly and efficiently.

There was even a large moving truck (constantly manned by at least one to move in case of traffic violations) that could pack and haul away more than a few homes worth of stuff. They could have been a little more delicate with the furniture, but it seemed that rushing the move was their agenda. English was almost non-existent with all of them, but try Cantonese or Mandarin for better luck. Ironically, they told me the majority of their clientele aren't Chinese speakers.

Price wise, they're cheaper than the average moving company but will probably seem expensive for those of you who have used Chinese movers before. Two apartments in roughly 2 hours cost $500 with tip. Phone manners were good and the woman behind the phone is very good about keeping track of details. She was just really bad at remembering how many pieces of furniture we had, causing a little headache with the movers and we were charged a little extra as a result. They may get a call from me again, but not without a little hesitation.

I'm really torn over this moving company. Over 10 of my coworkers have used them in the past, and they came highly recommended. I used them for my move last summer, and while they were very efficient and careful with my things, they upped the price $200 over the initial quote once we got to the final location. Not cool. Not to mention they were running an hour behind.

So this year, when I was in the position to move, yet again. I emailed them assuming the price would be identical with what I paid the last time (including the $200 upcharge) considering I have the same lot of stuff. Nope. The quote came in a little shy of $700, when I paid $500 the last time! Naturally I contested this to which I was told by the home office to produce a receipt. What?! Needless to say, I went with an alternate moving company, who showed early, came in at $450 (lower than what I'd paid with Gar Hing before) and were done in the same amount of time. Save your money, go elsewhere (A Moveable Feat). I'll definitely be spreading the word at my work!

A friend just sent me a note asking me who we used for a mover in Feb and I found myself actually recommending a mover for the first time ever. The guys from Gar Hing were early, fast, efficient and careful. We actually moved the 2nd to last weekend in Feb, the day after our last big snow storm, and were worried they would not be able to move us, but they were there and did a great job. The only reason I am giving them 4 instead of 5 stars is that communication with them was a little tough a few times, but overall not a problem.

We just used Gar Hing and are very satisfied. Long story short: Large 1BR = $550 = 2.5 hours = you pack, they just carry boxes and furniture Long story long: They actually called to see if they could come early and I said yes, anxious to get the move over with! Three men showed up and were very friendly but also got down to business. It felt like I barely turned around and most of my stuff was already in the truck!

They were Chinese/Vietnamese but did speak English, in case any of you are afraid of communication problems. One in particular, however, was more fluent than the others so he's probably the point man. I dropped a star because they did seem a little rough with my stuff, even though everything got to my new place in one piece, so maybe I shouldn't complain.

Another hiccup was that they got a parking ticket and asked me to pay for it, but the surprised look on my face made them agree to split it 50-50. I wasn't sure what the protocol is in that situation, and after looking it up online, apparently it is standard that the customer pays the ticket, which also surprised me. I was about to give them a huge tip but I was a little soured by that at the time and knocked the tip down.

If it is customary though, I do regret not tipping them more because they were really nice and very efficient. Bottom line: They're super nice, super fast, insured and I would recommend them.

We have used them several times and nothing has ever been broken. They are very efficient and cheap. I have definitely referred them to my friends. One issue may be that most of the movers speak Chinese. I'm not sure how well they speak English.
