I can't say enough great things about this company. I moved interstate and Zoltan and the crew were amazing. Not one item was damaged or broken. Everything was handled like it was their own personal items. I didn't have to tell them what to do either. True Moving Professionals. If you choose Arthur Werner you can't go wrong!

Truly the best! I have used moving companies before but there is no other company I would ever use again! Recommended by a family member who also had an outstanding experience with Arthur Werner packing her house and moving her to an apartment! For her and for me - professional service from email to phone and the movers as well! Top notch! (I am not related to anyone at this company and don't write reviews often but when a company is excellent - even during Covid it has to be recognized!)

This is a belated but important summary of our experience with Arthur Werner movers. We did our diligence and contacted several movers. We wanted to save on cost, so we specified that we would pack all items within our possibilities. AW came in with the best and least expensive quote for our move. All the materials were included in the quote. We had ample time to prepare for the move and AW supplied the materials in a very timely manor.

The move took two days. The crew headed by Juan operated efficiently and treated our belongings with great care. When all was said and done, the final bill was exactly in line with the original quote. We highly recommend AW Moving to anyone considering a move. Excellent service.

I use the company 3 years ago for a move 3 blocks away in midtown East and they did such an amazing job that we decided to move our stored valuable furniture and carpets from a climate control storage to their storage. They claimed that the storage is in the Bronx and climate control but it was in CT. We hired them again to move from our Apartment to LIs this year.

This time around they lost many pieces of our stored furniture and our carpets were damaged due to bad storage. They also charged us extra money the day of the move with no explanation. The move required 2 days packing and a move the 3rd day early morning. The project manager threatened us that he will cancel the move after he had our furniture in his warehouse when we asked to keep our sofa in our living room the day before the move since they wanted to leave us just with the bed's mattress the night before the move and we have a 3 years old. Did I say that the move cost us $10k and we were quoted $7600 2 months before the move, $8700 a week before the move leaving us no room to find another moving company in the middle of COVID Pandemic, then $10,000+ the day of the move! Pls be aware and make sure you don't fall into the same trap.

When I called to complain they send me a claim form that says you get almost nothing given the insurance coverage. A real shame! I am so disappointed at the lost furniture and the fact that we were taken advantage of

I first used Arthur Werner 6 years ago for a move from one apartment in NYC to another and they were fine. 4 years ago, we sold our house and had them move most of the contents into storage. They told us our stuff would be in the Bronx and easily accessible. LIE. They were stored in Bridgeport CT; they were supposed to be in a weather-controlled environment, but they were not.

We then had them move our apartment 3 blocks. We waited in our new apartment for them.they finally arrived about an 1 1/2 hours later (assume they ate lunch). This crew was not careful with our belongings. Our plants were beaten up. Then they had the audacity to charge us more than what was stated--and I was stupid enough to pay. Why should I pay for them to dick around?

We just moved from the City to Plymouth MA. We hired Flatrate and they were fine. 2 weeks ago, we had Flatrate move our stuff out of storage and into our house. The furniture is a mess. Mold, scratches, dirty. They didn't wrap a carpet and had it standing up, so it is wrinkled. Upholstered furniture has deep wrinkles, is dirty and moldy. Things like a standing fan and a table were broken. Did I mention mold?

The difference between AW and Flatrate is immense. First, AW gives you a bogus estimate and then they change the price. Flatrate gives you the price and it is set. AW movers are sloppy and careless. Flatrate hadgreat movers who went out of there way to ensure our huge houseplants would be safe. They were careful and friendly. In a million years I wouldn't recommend AW. BTW.I did ask for a quote on storage stuff and the salesperson, Garnet, gave me vague prices on the phone with no follow up in writing. Terrible company. They will be hearing from me about my damaged furniture.

I'd used Arthur Werner twice and was always pleased. Not so this time. I had an upcoming move booked, in less than two weeks, and was just called advising me of an additional $450 charge. This was never discussed at the time of the booking and, although the representative admitted numerous time that it was his mistake, he would not assume any of the additional financial burden.

He acknowledged that I was a "repeat customer" but would not budge. As a result I just retained another mover, which I was lucky to get at this late date. It's clearly not so much about the money but the manner in which this was handled. Calling me less than two weeks before my scheduled move, which had been booked over one month ago by the way, acknowledging it was their mistake but not making any effort to even split the difference with me, was extremely poor customer service. Especially for a "repeat customer!"

Excellent movers - fast, professional, careful and reasonably priced. We got quotes from 5-6 movers for a pack and move and AW's quote was the lowest. They were also able to turn the whole project in a day vs. some other companies who wanted to pack the day before the move. No complaints. I would highly recommend and use them again myself.

Highly recommended. Helped us move from a 2BR to another apartment in the city and will definitely use them for our next move. We had them pack, but not unpack our belongings. Everything was packed carefully and arrived undamaged. The night before, my wife and I panicked about them being able to get everything done in one day. Soup to nuts, it took them 6.5 hours to pack, move and arrange our belongings in the new apartment. Denzil was our contact and he was very professional. He happened to be in the area of our previous apartment and stopped by while his guys were packing us up which was a nice touch.

Hi all, just wanted to share a bad experience we had with Arthur Werner Moving company b/c I think a lot of people have used them in the area and had recommended them to us on this page. We had them pack and move us a few weeks ago and paid a significantly higher cost for the packing. While they were packing/moving us they caused some large holes in our rental apt walls.

We tipped the movers almost $700 (20%) and once we looked at our things realized our tv (unpacked by the movers) had a large crack across the front- and was broken, and my husband's $400 camera that was new and in the box, was missing. We spoke to Denzil at the company and while initially extremely responsive and apologetic, they have since done nothing despite my repeated calls and emails.

Although we only got the basic insurance, they had emailed us to please fill out a claim b/c they would take care of us and they were so horrified that this happened. Yet every day I am told the "owner will call me tomorrow". They told me that they depend on reviews for business b/c they don't advertise so I felt I should tell our story for those looking for a mover.

Their customer service has, in recent years, seriously suffered. They do not follow up with their customers prior to a move. Stay away from Denzil. Garnet is much better; still there are plenty of other choices out there.

James and Jesus did a great job! They came on time, were so quick and packed things very well.

This was my fourth move with Arthur Werner, (it was a combo of local & long distance), and once again, I was beyond pleased with the team. They are beyond a doubt, the most professional moving company I have ever worked with, and nothing in all of my moves, was ever damaged. Denzil & Garnett are both incredible. Don't bother getting quotes from any other company, Arthur Werner is definitely the company to use for any move you need.

I have used Arthur Werner 8 times so far(both locally and long distance), and I can honestly say I have never had even one tiny issue. Actually, they have exceeded my expectations each and every time. The movers are professional, the rates are competitive, these guys don't waste time, and treat your items as if they were their own. I have also used their storage recently for our last move while we were showing our house to sell.

Every single item that we got back was exactly as it was when we packed it. Heck - one of the movers actually helped me figure the placement of furniture in our new home - he has a much better eye than I do, apparently. I really cannot say enough about how happy I have been with Arthur Werner, and have referred them to family and friends who all have had the same exceptional experience that I have had. VERY IMPRESSED! Our point man was Denzil and he was very professional. We are moving and the price they quoted us, which includes the move from the old place and to the new place with storage in between was very reasonable. We had some outrageous quotes and one guy kept harassing us about how it was 'two moves' I digress. The movers were there on time, Aaron was our foreman.

The men were gentle and despite our harassing them( well my mother and I did most of harassing, hubby paid us no mind) about the elevator wt limit. They were consummate professionals. Everything went smooth and Denzil called to check up on everything. I'm hoping the transition will be smooth to the new place. Thank you!

This review is 10 years over due. What lead to it is a friend in NYC asking if I knew a good mover, it reminded me of Arthur Werner movers and the experience I had with them moving us from NYC to LA. It was a good sign when they showed up on time. They were very professional, first assessing what needed to be moved and in what order. After that it was like watching a military operation in action.

Everything was packed tight and padded in the truck, I know cause I checked. Then they stored everything somewhere until our new home was ready in LA. All it took was one phone call and 7 days later they were moving everything in to our new home. Moving is a stressful situation, but the people at the back office were always reachable and helpful, the price was fair, and the moving crew the best I've ever experienced. They really took the edge off the whole deal. I now know why my friend had recommended them so highly and why I'm recommending them 10 years later.

I suggest you do NOT use Arthur Werner when moving because. They cannot even handle a small moving. I only had 4 furniture and 4 boxes to move but they damanged the sofa. Two 2-3 inches red marks on the sofa and I have to replace the cover, which cost about $200. I sleep on that sofa occationally and I know that the damange was not there before moving.

The damaged areas were wet. This tells me that they damanged the sofa somehow during the moving and tried to clean it (the damanged area smelled like bleach). When I complained, the foreman named Benjamin told me that it is NOT their responsibility because he worked more than 10 years and the blanket that covered the sofa was not wet. Oh wow, then the sofa must have damaged itself so it's my responsibility?

When you cannot find a visible evidence of the damange that was not there before, then is it not their fault? It's obvious that it was damanged during moving and Benjamin strongly claimed he's not responsible for the damage. He called his manager (his uncle) about my complain and the only thing he said was how he is not responsible for the damange because of this and that. Instead, he told me the claim department of the company will call me on that day to inspect the issue- and see if I can get the refund or not. So, I ended up paying the everything, expceting to get the phone call from the claim department.

I never received any calls after. I paid $775 + tip for moving from White Plains to NYC, which was higher than other companies (The tip was for other guys besides Benjamin). I chose Arthur Werner because they were on BBB and found a decent comment on city-data forum. And I learned that they not only cannot handle a small move, they don't care about the damage on customer's furniture. Also, I shouldn't have paid the full-price- now they got my money they don't care about it anymore.

I've used Arthur Werner twice and they are by far the best movers I've ever worked with. and I've moved 5+ times in the last 10 years. Professional, great at their jobs, personable and trustworthy. I found them after doing research online for eco-friendly moving companies. they provide reusable plastic crates instead of cardboard boxes, which make the moving process so much more pleasant.

The company drops off the crates 7-10 days before your move, and they sit neatly stacked both when they're empty, and after you've filled them. minimizing the chaos in your home. Even better, after you unpack the crates -- Arthur Werner comes and picks them up, and you don't have to break down any cardboard boxes! I can't emphasize how nice this is.

Everyone you interact with at the company is personable and professional, from the person who answers the phones, to the person who comes out to give you a (free) estimate, to the movers themselves. Our latest move took 7.5 hours instead of the 9 they'd estimated, so we saved some money. And the crew was so awesome -- when we got to our new apartment, the landlord had left a pile of furniture and trash on the curb (a welcome gift, I guess?!), and the crew simply moved it aside to create a path for themselves without complaint.

Total pros. This is a great company! I'd use them again in a heartbeat. (By the way -- the previous reviewer says you have to pay them for unused hours. this is not true. They provide a "worst case" estimate and then if the crew gets the job done in fewer hours -- which ours did- -- then you only pay for the actual hours used. This was true for our recent move and for our move in September 2010.)

These guys were great. We just used them (from a recommendation by a friend) to have them pack us up and move into our larger digs. We moved from a 4th floor walk up into an elevator building and they moved like clockwork - and not a single thing broken or dinged. Very friendly and nice. We actually came under our estimate and they were very fair with pricing. You could probably get cheaper movers but for us it was worth it to put our trust in true professionals and not have to worry about anything. Highly recommended!
