Their service is top notch! We needed to move our widowed father who has Alzheimer's so needless to say we knew it was going to be difficult. But not with Seniors Moving Smarter! They came and packed everything up, moved it and unpacked everything including hanging artwork on the walls! There was an hour drive from where he lived to where he was moving. Total time spent five hours. I highly recommend this moving company!

While the people doing the packing, moving and unpacking did a great job. We did not get an estimate of cost until 2 days before when it was too late to back out, and then when we got the bill it was a whole lot more than what was quoted to us. It might have been nice to know how expensive this service was.

Don't do it. My mom is disabled and hired help to organize. The hourly rate plus round trip travel cost $300 for 2 in one car. and paid $1100 cash discount for 4 hours. She sent me video she took after they left when looking for missing items. She found her mail in trash, picture frame w/ glass broken and nothing sorted or tagged. She borrowed money to pay cash.

Matt, Larry & Nick went above and beyond getting my parents moved into American House. They were able to move them in one day's notice, arrived at the house on time, packed up quickly and gently, and moved their belongings with kindness and care. Their customer service skills were great and fun, their moving skills were excellent, their work ethics very high, and compassion was amazing.

Seniors Moving Smarter takes the stress out of the moving process! From the first meeting with Liz the owner of SMS and Carl from White Mitten Movers we felt confident that our home and it's contents were being coordinated not only efficiently but also with great attention to detail. Julie called and explained the process clearly and then worked with the crew tirelessly to organize, pack and unpack. We could not be happier with how smoothly the move went. I was fortunate to get the team at short notice. They were absolutely amazing! We went from chaos with boxes everywhere to a neat and tidy home in just a few hours. Then they sent another team to remove a mountain of packing materials. We will be having them back to hang pictures just as soon as we decide where we want them hung. My kitchen has never been so organized. As you can see I was very impressed and my husband and I would not hesitate to use them again.

From our first interaction, Liz was insightful and helpful. As I prepared my 76 year-old mother to relocate from her home of 45 years to a local assisted living facility, Liz asked thoughtful questions and helped me work through logistics. On the day of the move, the staff arrived on time, were courteous and respectful. At one point, mom was having a moment, and one of the moving staff found me and said, "I think your mom needs you." Mom had a lot of precious, delicate items and the staff was terrific - taking time to pad and wrap.

When unloading at the assisted living facility, the staff was great at placing furniture in her room. Overall the experience was better than I imagined. As it turns out, two months later we moved mom across the country. Once again, Liz and Carl were great. They really care about their clients. The move went without incident, and I was able to breathe because I knew things were in competent hands. I highly recommend this company.

My family has used Seniors moving Smarter 2 times in the last five years, one time to move my mom across to Grand Rapids from Detroit and more recently to move from a larger apartment to an assisted living apartment. Both were seamless, Seniors Smarter, Liz, Julie and the staff, anticipated our needs and helped make these difficult and emotional moves so much better.

They were very sensitive to my mom's need to maintain the style of her previous apartment and helped with the process of downsizing in a sensitive manner. They managed to do all of this in a short time frame and during the constraints of Covid 19 restrictions. Can't say enough good things about this company, they were a port in a storm and made a difficult situation so much easier.

The crew did an awesome job in moving our mother into assisted living. The move seemed to go quickly - they had everything set up just where we needed it. I couldn't be happier. We moved from a home into a condo and had a lot of "stuff." They worked hard and carefully. Even at the end of the second day the crew was upbeat and had pep in their step. They did whatever we asked and even asked if there was anything more they could do for us. Brenda unpacked the kitchen boxes and put everything away for me. That was wonderful! I would HIGHLY recommend SMS for anyone who wants a quality move that is as stress free as a move can be.

Seniors Moving Smarter compassionately took much of the guesswork and heavy lifting out of facilitating an-out-of-state move in the midst of a pandemic. First, Liz helped us assess what we needed to do to downsize 40 years of accumulated stuff and memories, to better stage our home for sale. Her team professionally packed and boxed our belongings on a very tight time frame before the house went on the market. MarJo stayed overtime to ensure that everything was ready.

Then after our sale over the first weekend, Julie came back twice to prepare for the move. We learned how to separate what we "loved" from what we needed, and what could fit as we downsized from a home to an apartment. Everything we moved was securely packed, nothing broke and our belongings were treated as if the packer was preparing her own. Seniors Moving Smarter fills a a vital need for people faced with a later-in-life move.

In our case, we were able to start our retirement journey moving from Michigan to Connecticut to be closer to family with greater peace of mind. Also, a shoutout to the partnership with White Mitten Movers. They provided the best value as we comparison shopped. And there is something very comforting about knowing that Carl Reid, the owner of the company was personally driving the truck, and directing the packing and unpacking.

Liz is great to work with: guiding you through the process to help a parent get from home to the next stage of living. Don't overlook the value of a dispassionate third party helping to choose what to take from a large home to the new smaller residence (and standing as a buffer between children and parent.) The movers were sensitive to finding things squirreled away in furniture, handling the precious few things being moved, and even had a specialist in Grandfather clocks! I never knew this existed and am very glad Porter Hills clued me into this new business model. Definitely worth it, a very positive experience.
