I have used Moves LLC a few different times, and every time it was a great experience. The movers were prompt and very helpful, as were the office staff. I have heard some horrendous experiences about OTHER MOVING companies breaking items etc, etc. I got to tell you that WILL NOT HAPPEN IF YOU USE MOVES LLC.

Some piece of garbage who drives their truck almost caused smashed into my car near the Lincoln tunnel. He didn't pay attention around my signal lane change sign and didn't have his on. He just shoved his truck in front of my car. When I called to complain the garbage that picked up the phone hung up on me. There's no way in hell I'd trust you to drive anyway of mine.

I did the storage + move combo, which gets you 2.5 free hours of moving.great deal.pretty sure the best out there. Nearly everything was smooth.friendly team, prompt arrival, quick enough moving speed. They had all supplies on hand, but you should know that they are absurdly expensive, so pack all yourself in advance. For example, as we were packing up, they asked me if I wanted to wrap the couch and chair.
I said "Sure, if it's no big deal." He said "yeah, that's what we do." Great, until the end of the move when that flippant conversation turned out to be a $120 line item. (I would've gladly thrown the couch out the window to avoid that needless charge.) Total supplies were $310, which was astounding to me. I expected some premium for on-site supplies, so my main beef was that at no point was the high cost of the wrapping implied.in fact the tone of the conversation was clearly the opposite.
I rated them 5 stars because they made it right. At the end, I was able to get supplies reduced 25% b/c we all acknowledged the sticker shock. Out of principle and since 25% off of $120 was still well over what I would've paid for the wrapping, I called the company the next day. I spoke to Benny for a bit, unsuccessfully, then was finally connected to Steve Mallon, the manager of both companies. Steve was completely understanding and offered to comp my next month's storage cost or credit my card for half the cost of the paper, which I think is completely fair. Semi-painful process, but all's well that ends well. Simple advice, pack yourself or ask the cost of each supply prior to its use.avoid surprises. Thanks to Steve and props for making a solid business decision.

I've never hired movers before, but when it came to moving out of my 6th floor walk up during final exams, I had to bite the bullet. I had used Chelsea Mini-Storage before so hired Moves to get my stuff back into storage. These guys were great. The quote I was given after they came to check out my place initially scared me (estimated 5 hours for moving out of a three room place even if they didn't pack everything up), but the people I spoke to on the phone reassured me that it probably would not take that long.
They were right - the guys showed up right on time, treated my stuff well and carefully, and had me out of the apartment within 90 minutes. The team leader was friendly and helped me figure out ways to save money by recommending a smaller (and cheaper) storage space than I thought I needed. I booked along with storage and got 25% off my storage space and 2.5 hours free of moving.

Biggest rip-off. They came to my apartment, actually looked at everything that needed to be moved, gave a quote. and then tried to charge me 60% over that quote. "Team" leader was rude and completely unintelligible, other guys were mostly inexperienced. Even by New York mover standards, not acceptable.
