I've actually used them twice in the last year and a half. Once to use their truck to move from Bloomington to Terre Haute and then again to load a uhaul for a long distance move. I asked them to put the big heavy things where then needed to go when I moved in and then all the boxes in the dinning room. They were efficient and did a great job. The second to load into the uhaul they also did an amazing job. If I were ever in Terre Haute and needed movers again I'd definitely be calling them.

These jerks that work for Eldred Moving Co. and the were at Attic Self Storage in Brazil, Indiana, Thursday 02 December around 4pm-6pm unloading and loading items. They blocked the entire entrance for almost two hours. My son and his mother were blocked inside the property with no restrooms, no food, no water, and one of the rudest females I've had to deal with.
They could have moved the truck forward 5 feet and right back in less than a minute. My lady had to park at the entrance and walk all the way back to our storage units. Eldred Staff should have taken control of the situation and helped out. And little rude lady, how much you paid per hour for the moving company and truck rental, doesn't excuse what you did. Two hours. Jerk.

If I could rate zero, I would. Incredibly rude. Unprofessional. This is only in reference to office staff or "customer service." Haven't met the delivery staff because the truck with my appliances on it broke down and apparently no backup plan. The staff member who called to cancel was rude from the start and unapologetic. Would not recommend to anyone.

I would definitely recommend this company. I used them twice in a matter of two weeks. Once to move us out of our home and into a storage unit, then again to move us out of the unit and into our new home. Both times the movers were professional and took extra care to make sure our belongings did not get damaged. John, Michelle, Colt, and Nate were all wonderful.
I also want to specifically name Becky and the woman who usually answers the phones (who I unfortunately don't have her name). I had to reschedule several times because of circumstances out of our control and they were always incredibly nice and accommodating for what we needed.

Eldred packed some especially fragile and/or special items for us, and arranged with a national mover for our out-of-state move of all of our household goods. The packing team showed up on time for packing, and the crew worked efficiently to pack some very dear and fragile items, writing special instructions on some items to ensure it was handled appropriately on the truck.
When the national mover had difficulty sending a driver to Terre Haute on the original schedule, our Eldred rep (Becky) immediately offered to store our items at no charge. When that scheduling issue took over a month to resolve, Eldred continued to store our household goods, and also ran interference for us with the national mover. Becky is terrific!
I can't say enough good things about how good she is to work with. And when our items finally arrived (again - no fault of Eldred's that receipt was delayed), everything that Eldred packed was perfectly intact. Kudos to the packing team for their success. Becky and Eldred went above and beyond to help us with this move.

I would not recommend this company! I just moved into my new home and finally started to unpack my belongings. I noticed my foam mattress $325.00 was missing. I called Eldred and she told me she was not informed of anything left in the truck. I suppose it's my fault because when I asked the lady if that was everything from the back of the truck she said "yes, I checked it" I should have checked it myself. I noticed on some of the other reviews some people were complaining about theft, it's a shame when you pay good money for a service and give a great tip that this happens.

First of all, the movers arrived 3 1/2 hours early. I was not ready for them when they arrived. They moved things which were not to be moved, but should have been left with my ex-husband. I had to return these items to him. Secondly, they broke/damaged several of my items. They even dropped a chest-of-drawers down my stairs! Lastly, after contacting them regarding damaged items a representative did visit my home, but there was never any follow up or resolution.
I called them regarding a resolution and my calls were never returned. I would NEVER use this moving company again. Movers were unprofessional and even asked if they could come back on Tuesday to finish the job (this was Saturday). They did not bring a big enough truck and I still had to find someone to move many of my boxes. Movers also decided to take a 15 minute break at Love's Truck Stop. I wasn't made aware I'd be paying for this also. Totally a nightmare and unacceptable. Save yourself the headache and use a different moving service.

Do not use this company under any circumstances. When the packers arrived at our home, my husband and I knew we would have problems, and we definitely did although we never expected THEFT. Two women packers, one of them named Lori, packed my handbags in two enormous boxes and smashed them in the boxes with a full sized fan on the top. I had to stop them and pack them myself.
When I checked the wardrobes after they left that day, one of the packers had placed two of my best professional suits on top of the bar in one of the wardrobes, so I unpacked and repacked several wardrobes. My husband repacked many items from the kitchen because we were concerned about breakage. In addition, my husband and I packed at least half of our belongings ourselves (not counting the wardrobes and boxes we repacked).
My husband packed his entire workshop on his own plus our fine china and crystal because we didn't trust these packers. We bought our own boxes and tape for all of this. On the day before the North American Van Lines truck was supposed to arrive, we received a phone call from Becky telling us we did not have a truck for the scheduled moving day of June 4.
She said that we might have a truck in the next few days, but we did not. After numerous phone calls with North American, we had a driver from Allied for June 11. Because my husband and I left for our new home, we asked a friend to observe the loading. The moving team bounced a glass case down the front stairs and broke the mirrors in it. Glass inserts for our dining room table were broken when they arrived in Georgia. Worse still, Lori (that packer) stole 5 area rugs from our home, three of which were custom made.
She put these rugs in her truck and drove off, telling our friend that we hadn't tipped her and she was going to take them. She also told our friend that we had told her she could have them, which was ridiculous. The reason we didn't tip her was because of her poor job packing. Why would we tip someone who didn't even pack all of our belongings and when she did, packed them so badly that we had to repack boxes and wardrobes? That's not why we paid for a moving company!
When our belongings arrived in Georgia, we were missing so many items (in addition to our rugs) that my husband had to return to our house, pack the rest of the items, rent a trailer, and bring the rest to Georgia. When he went to pick up the rugs that the owner found at Lori's home, guess who was still working there? Lori. In other words, the owner didn't care that she had stolen our property. I'm working on our claim right now, but nothing can repay theft, inconvenience, and hardships we experienced from this business.
If you don't mind theft, breakage, repacking boxes, and packing lots of your belongings on your own, I guess you'd like them. If you care about your belongings and like honest employees, run before you call Eldred. HORRIBLE experience.

THIS IS NOT THE MOVER YOU WANT TO USE! Not only did they scratch& dent, (at least 20 dents),t he washer and dryer, over $20,000.00 in tools, expensive flashlights, an $1,800.00 Korean jewelry box and a leather coat came up missing. They only pay these people 8 bucks an hour and we heard all about it. The workers actually bragged about not graduating high school.
They complained about hating their job and the tight wad pay. One guy claimed he never got out of Grade school! We are both disabled and in addition to running out before they assembled a bed, they took our Safety ladder. They tried to reuse garment boxes by distracting us and ACTUALLY went into our closet and dumped clothes there. On the first day, we caught them crushing $1,800.00 suits into a 2' x 2' box.
That was over $100.00 alone to get them re cleaned and pressed. They claimed to be bonded and insured. I personally never saw the bond. So, when we filed a claim, THEY REFUSED TO PAY IT. The old man Eldred could care less as he said he'd review it. Turned out, he went back to Florida. If your that hard up for a mover and have to use them, insist on a written guarantee of reimbursement up front and in writing.
Any other mover has to be better than these amateurs. One other thing to do is hire a spotter to watch them load the truck. What goes on is NOT a guarantee it's coming off. Also, the crew chief was asking us for narcotics. He got an Aleve, lol. We did file a police report. Six of them were called in but nobody ratted anyone out. Figures. Hopefully our insurance company is suing them through subrogation.

The crew that showed up to our house broke a kitchen chair by grabbing it by the arms instead of by the seat. After a month of waiting for a response to get the chair fixed, we had to call the office to see when they were going to come out and fix it. The lady at the desk stated her crew told her the arm on the chair was broken before and they were not at fault. So not only did the crew break our property, but lied about it as well. Never use this company.

We have never hired professional movers before until now. We decided to check with Eldred this time to see if hiring out our move would be feasible. From the very first call, we felt we were heading in the right direction. The office staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely easy to work with. The moving crew arrived this morning and were immediately on task.
The crew (Brandon, Bryan, and Rick) were pleasant to work with and extremely professional. They were kind, considerate, and treated us and our belongings with respect. We loved the way they worked as a team and were so easy going! We were amazed with how quickly they loaded our furniture and how efficiently they packed the truck. All three of the crew were extremely gracious and courteous at all times.
Even though it was 93 degrees outside, Brandon, Bryan, and Rick never slowed down! They had the contents of our house loaded and unloaded at our new location in five and a half hours, and the expense involved was far less than we expected. It was reasonable and fair. Our overall experience was fantastic. Hats off to Brandon, Bryan, and Rick!
