I worked directly with Ashley Jensen. She was very professional, and attentive to my needs! I recommend this business for any of your moving needs! I would not hesitate about having them assist with any moves I may have in the future.

Worst customer service experience in my life! Move happened in June 2021. 50 items missing from our "bingo card". It's now 8 months later and after multiple calls and many telling us "we're working on it and we'll get back to you".no resolution. John the GM, could not care less. Gas grill starter also broken in the move leaving the grill inoperable. Submitted a claim for this in August with guarantee response of "7-10 business days". February 10th we get a reply that a $10 credit will be given. Do yourself a favor and NEVER hire this company to do a move for you.

The crew that wrapped my furniture and picked up my goods - David, Jeanette, and Ian - was very professional, quick, and helpful. They worked efficiently as a team and took very good care to wrap my furniture carefully. I was very positively impressed. I've called to inquire about the status of my belongings, and Ashely in the office has been very considerate and helpful. I feel very confident entrusting my belongings to these folks.

Moving is stressful. If you choose to hire a professional moving company then you are putting your trust in complete strangers without much of an idea of who is going to show up at your home. The four people who showed up at our house to handle our move are exactly the people you hope for. Arthur, Ashley, Brittany, and Chris were incredible. They were professional, positive, and possessed a work ethic that would be exceedingly difficult to surpass. Problems that I anticipated, they handled with ease.

It was an enormous job and they made sure everything was handled to our satisfaction. I cannot emphasize enough how much we appreciated them and how lucky Allen & Coles is to have them represent the company. They did a phenomenal job.

A team of untrained party kids who were doing shots on the job, pried furniture apart, dropped things down the ramp, gashed walls, didn't wrap things or lift properly, etc descended on my house to make what should've been a 2 day move fit in to one day. Things that were supposed to go upstairs went downstairs, we found broken things, hardware was lost, and the foreman spent 15 min puking in my bathroom. Their management didn't care and in fact, their claims coordinator was one of the rudest and most unprofessional people I have ever encountered.

Update: It took over 2 months to work with the claims department, and it was a very frustrating experience. I was refunded some of the amount, but not what I was asking (I somewhat understand the sofa refund based on contractual obligation, but not for the unaccounted for breaks). Though still if it were me running a company, I would want to work with my clients to ensure things were made right rather than dismissively throw a fraction of what an items value to them just to move on (approx. 25%).

Lesson Learned: if you don't want them to destroy a 1.5-year old sofa and not have to pay for it, take out the full damage protection. For me, I will simply trust someone else with my next move. Customer Service in claims department: 1 star out of 10. -------------------------------- To be clear, overall Allen & Coles was not an awful experience. The guys who helped me move from Augusta to Portland seemed like decent guys, and knew what they were doing for the most part.

There are simply a few lessons learned and a couple of outstanding items (hence the 2 stars): (1) My 1.5 year old leather sofa was severely damaged during the move (4" x 1" tear, multiple small tears). I am currently working with the claims department, and have been for over a month. I am not very happy with the responsiveness at this point and have reached out via email on a weekly basis.

There appears to have been minimal effort thus far from Allen & Coles to make a bad situation right again - hopefully this is resolved soon, and I will update this review when it is. (2) The amount of time spend "on break" seemed to be very loose. I did not anticipate the level of supervision that was needed to ensure there was no wasted time and to avoid damage to my belongings.

I was also charged for this time that they were not working. (3) There was confusion with the directions to my new location. I expected as the moving experts (and having an office less than 0.5 miles from where I moved to) that they would know the area and/or made a plan the night before. This was not the case and resulted in a wasted 40+ minutes, which I was charged for. (4) They sent a large moving checklist and plan for tracking inventory prior to the move, however this was NOT used the day of.

If I were not an extremely organized person, I would be concerned that all of my belongings were delivered. My personal opinion is that inventory tracking is a responsibility of the movers to show they did their job, however there was no effort shown in this area (whereas in past moves with other companies each article had a sticker # and a list to cross-reference).

Perhaps this was due to me packing my own belongings, but I don't understand how that prevents the use of an inventory list - the only thing close to this was my "estimate" of how many boxes and items I would have for each room, which is simply insufficient as I had not even started packing yet. (5) I did have a very pleasant experience working with their sales representative, but would just like for them to follow through on the back end and make things right.

Again they weren't awful, I would probably just look elsewhere for my next move due to the level of effort required on my end during AND after the move to execute and to make things right. I will let you know if that changes after I hear back from the claims department.

Allen & Coles was hands down the best moving experience that I have had to date. From the start, the communication was prompt and clear. The physical move itself was smooth and efficient (the movers were cheerful and very professional). Finally, the quote was accurate. something that you do not always get with other moving companies. There were no surprises. Overall, the move could not have gone any better. I highly recommend Allen & Coles!

The customer service at Allen and Coles is outstanding. From the minute I started planning my move, the facilitation was impeccable. The movers were clean, genuine, and friendly. When there was a small amount of damage as a result of the move to brand new wooden floors, the quality department at Allen and Coles quickly stepped up to the plate and diligently facilitated the repairs, which were completely covered by the moving company.

This is a company I will use again and highly recommend for any move. They made the moving process a breeze. I am truly thankful for all of their services. A job very well done.

I had a great experience with Allen & Coles Moving Systems. We had a very short timeline in order to execute our local move, which I thought was going to be difficult, but Don and his team worked with me to get all the details easily ironed out and set into place. Don was fantastic and very respective of my family and some of the personal matters we were dealing with around our move.

I found the estimate to be very affordable given the size of move we had, and really felt that it was worth the amount of work the team was going to do. We booked both packing and moving as well. During the actual packing and moving, the moving specialists were efficient and effective, and just all around fantastic individuals. They were very polite and worked extremely hard.

Everything was placed perfectly within the new house, without a scratch. Overall, I was highly impressed and just overall extremely grateful. A big thanks to Don, Stacy, Mike and the full team for helping us move in our new home. I will definitely use Allen & Coles Moving Systems for any future moves I have in the Portland region and beyond and I highly recommend them for your next move!

From the minute we had our consultation about our move with Don, we felt comfortable. He assured us that we would have a much more pleasant move than we did with our last moving company just 7 months earlier, which did not go well. He was absolutely right! The movers came and carefully packed our items in a timely and efficient manor. They were sure to ask if they had any questions about an item they were packing.

Every box was labelled with it's contents. They let us know the plan for the day, when they were taking their normal break for lunch and when they were back to start working again. On the actual move day, they made sure that our furniture was placed exactly where we wanted it and once again took great care in handling our belongings. I highly recommend Allen and Coles.
