Just a quick note to thank your colleagues who did a great job with the move from Kalamazoo. Very pleased with the whole process. All of my experiences with Mulder's has been professional. The use of free recyled boxes is also very helpful. The movers at Mulders were very efficient. Movers used in another city (another company) prolonged the move time to charge the maximum amount.
Movers from Mulders were in and out in minimum time. We've used Mulder's twice in that past 4 months - the first time after we sold our home and moved into a condo (that move went amazingly) and just this past week to move my Mom to a different independent/assisted living community.

Mulder's Moving & Storage began back in 1948 with Don Mulder at the helm and Robert Benthin as his second in command. Bob and Esther Benthin purchased the company from Mulder in 1976 and soon had their three sons involved in the business with them. Now, 70 years later, the Benthin family still owns and manages the company with one of their sons serving as president.

We chose Mulder's because they were a reputable local business. We received quotes from 3 other moving companies and to be honest, Mulder's was the most expensive. However, it was the most detailed and thorough quote because Vince was insistent on getting an accurate assessment of our items. We believed the resources they committed would get our move done on time and without issue.
It was a great decision. The crew was friendly and helpful and took care of our property. They arrived on time and finished within the quoted time line. During the move into our new home, the finish was damaged to our new hardwood staircase from the runner and tape used in effort to protect the stairs. The repair was very costly. We submitted the claim to Mulder's and within a few days Karel issued us a settlement for the work with a sincere apology and absolute zero hassle. My experience with Mulder's was exceptional, they are good people and I would recommend them to anyone.

The Mulders team did a great job on my move - despite a tight, difficult set of staircases and a packed attic at the old house, they made quick work of breaking down the furniture and completing the move. My move had an additional treat as well, a full upright piano built in 1906, which is rather on the heavy side (the team lead described as 'chunky') - no way was it easy for them but they did a great job with it.

I'd used Mulders for several previous moves and was very happy. My last move, however, left me angry and disgusted. The "team leader" spent most of his time on his phone with his girlfriend instead of leading his team. Two of the 4 movers they sent were working their first day at the company. Our furniture was not wrapped and MANY things were damaged during the move because of this.
We called the main office during our move as soon as we felt things were not going well and they sent a supervisor who was rude and disrespectful. At the end of the day when we reported the damage to the "team leader" he acknowledged it but did nothing. He told us he wasn't charging us over time for the 30 minutes they worked over just straight time.
He presented this as if he was doing us a favor when in reality if he'd work a little more and spent less time on the phone they wouldn't have run over. When we reported the damage to the office they wanted to send the same disrespectful supervisor to investigate our claim. We felt that the company was covering for its employee's mistakes instead of operating with integrity. Ultimately we decided to let it go and will NEVER use Mulders again. Please, don't use them.

The movers were professional and handled my mom's furniture and belongings with care. We can't say enough about Mulder's Moving and the red carpet treatment they give to their customers. We will recommend their service anytime.

My aunt had Mulder's Moving and Storage move her twice in the last month. Once from her house to my family's house, then to her new apartment from our place. Larry and Ron moved her first and did an amazing job. Today Larry and Geo moved her to her apartment and let me simply say these men are so professional kind hearts, and go above and beyond. I couldn't thank them enough for taking such great care of my aunt's stuff during her moves.

We had numerous damages to items, including a broken bed! A priceless statue was broken in two places even though it was individually boxed with a lot of bubble wrap and heavily marked FRAGILE. There was indifference by the movers when brought to their attention (the only time we didn't "discover" the damage was the bed being broken!) Their "Fixer" tried his best to remedy where he could, which was mediocre.
When all was said and done, an email to the company simply registering our disappointment (no demands or threats!) was met with NO RESPONSE. No one has said "Sorry" or "Our apologies" for your damaged items. Such a shame for business to be handled with such an indifferent approach. I certainly like to support local businesses, but haven't a positive thing to say about Mulders. Majorly disappointed!

The loading process from our old home went very smoothly and quickly. They stored our items for approx. 5 days and then moved them into our new home. The move in crew was not as good as the first one. There were many broken and cracked totes, broken dishes, and marks on the walls of our newly built home. Of course we had already generously tipped them because we has not been able to survey our belongings before the crew left.
I called to discuss the concerns 2 days later, after I began unpacking. They initially followed up and Mike said he would talk to the owner about the issues and get back to us. It has been over 3 weeks and we have yet to hear back. My husband and I have done 2 moves (one from MI to PA and then back from PA to MI), packed our own boxes, drove our own Penske truck, etc. and did not have the damage to our belongings or homes.
We would have absolutely don't this move ourselves if I wasn't in the 3rd trimester expecting twins. For the priced we paid, I was upset my belongings were not handled with more care. I was also shocked when they just dropped the issue and never followed up with even an apology. I was hoping going with a smaller, family-owned and reputable company would have us avoiding most of these issues.
They did not live up to their claim of "the best customer service and a long-term commitment to leaving all of its customers smiling and thrilled with the work done for them."
