What a nightmare of a company. We had called about 6 weeks ago and gave a deposit to have a carport placed on the side of our home. They were supposed to be here on Monday but on the day of said that the new date would be pushed to Wednesday between 7-9am. A crew of 3 guys showed up to the house and rang my doorbell. I told the 3 gentlemen where my husband would want the port built but he would be home within 15 minutes to give full instructions.
Within 10 minutes the guys were back in their trucks and gone. Never instructed us about why they were leaving. No explanation. just left. Trying to get anyone on the phone to figure out what was even going on was even more frustrating. We had originally gone through Carolina carports who subcontracts Alan's Factory who they subcontract out a crew who THEY then subcontract people. what a headache!
About 8 hours later, SOMEONE finally called us back to say they could reschedule us again another 2 months out! Regardless, I will not recommend this company unless you just want a massive, annoying headache.

UNBELIEVABLE! After all the hustle I have had with this company, it just doesn't end! After 3 months I finally get an install date and time, take off work and set home all day and guess what?!? Nothing! No one showed up, no one called! NOTHING! When I repeatedly called to find out what was going on I was told the installers was just running behind and to just wait for them to call, but of course no one called!
How does this company stay in business? I plan on telling everyone about this awful experience and post as many bad reviews I can to save others from this nightmare of a company!

The only reason I gave one star is because 0 stars is not an option. Do not even consider doing business with this place. Two and a half months after a contract was made between me and this business, they want to increase the price! They have canceled delivery twice. I am tired of waiting and I will not agree to them breaking our contract. I have done what I agreed to. They have not. CROOKS!

I cannot stress enough how much I would not use this company. They are a middle man for Carolina Carports and once your deposit is made, they cease being any help. I ordered a building in April and still did not have the building in August. 90 days was the cut-off, so I called for a refund on my deposit, after hearing from Carolina Carports, they had still not set a date of delivery for my building.
This was after multiple times of them lying about my building delivery date and knowing that they would not deliver within the 90 days, still would not refund my money until the deadline had passed. Horrible, Horrible company.

Placed my order in May of 2017. They tried to deliver in July with 2 days notice. I couldn't make that time frame, had to postpone. No problem. September I call them (to stress - I call them, not the other way around) asking what's going on. They say they're going to get me back on the schedule, and that it will be October for the install. (this was a lie) I call them again in November asking what happened.
They say now it's a licensing issue with my county - they can't manage to get two references from around here. I am totally confused, for two reasons: What kind of BS company can't get two references, and why are they trying to get a county license when they don't need one? We went back and forth. First they insisted it was necessary to have both a county and a city license.
I proved that wrong. Then they said it was in their agreement with my state. I asked to see the agreement. Finally, they are saying it is their "company policy." Company policy to get a license for unincorporated county work, in order to complete incorporated city work? What? They offered to let me cancel the order. Nah. I want them to pay to get both permits, then we will see if I let them install.
These guys are total jerk offs, who are intentionally dragging their feet on getting permits. They also were raring to go in July, ready to install without having any permits at all. DO NOT recommend. UPDATE: Asked for them to call me with an update on January 3. No phone call as of January 16. UPDATE: Still no call as of February 2. FINAL UPDATE: A lot of emails have been exchanged between February 8 and 9. Synopsis - First, I was told they already had the county and the city license.
I asked for the testing date and the license number which of course didn't exist. Then, I was told that it was ME who was confused, that they were only trying to get the city license all along (I have everything in writing, and there is no misinterpreting the fact they were trying for the county license). Still, they were insisting that they needed two notarized references in my county, which is 100% not true.
I proved to them that they do not need that type of reference, just a background check and basic references from anywhere in the country. They said my city was asking for something they couldn't provide. Finally, they said that my city of residence commissioner's office was giving conflicting information between myself and their company.
I offered to set up a conference call with all parties involved, so that we could all be clear. My offer was declined, surprise surprise. Ultimately, they did not accept fault for any of these problems. Pawned it off on my city licensing agency. Really nice, guys. Oh, and to top it all off? After forcibly cancelling the order, they were refusing to issue my credit card a refund, instead wanting to send a check. Alan's Factory Outlet, that is known as FRAUD.
I issued a dispute and charge back, so that it will be returned the correct way. SUMMARY: If these guys have this much trouble getting references, they have no business putting up structures. Period. Total FRAUD, with Alan's acting as a front for Carolina Carports, who has a horrid reputation for a reason. DO NOT USE. If anyone doubts any of my claims, please contact me. I can provide written proof of their interactions.

I have a 35' motor home that I was parking in the hot Texas sun. I wanted a 41' x 18' x 13' metal rv carport to protect it and to offer us shade and to shield us from the rain. I checked with at least 4-5 dealers for the carports and all were very, very close in price because, as far as I could tell, the carports themselves almost exclusively were manufactured/installed by Carolina Carports.
So it came down to customer service. I found Alan's Factory Outlet through a google search. Alan's website is very informative, had many good testimonials, plus they are BBB accredited. We ordered from Alan's Factory Outlet in late June, 2017. Carolina Carports took over from there with the scheduling of installation of our carport. (They, too, were a pleasure with which to do business.) Although, I called/emailed Alan's Factory Outlet a few times after that and they always got back to me in a very timely manner, and were very courteous.
Our set-up date was set for early August. The crew, very polite and efficient workers, were scheduled to arrive early and showed up exactly on time. They started work immediately, and worked non-stop, finishing the job in four hours. They obviously "knew their stuff" as they made putting up a 41' x 18' rv carport look easy. When they completely finished, they cleaned up after themselves.
We are extremely happy with our rv carport and also very pleased with the purchasing experience at Alan's Factory Outlet. We HIGHLY recommend purchasing your carport, shed, metal building, etc. from Alan and his company!"

Excellent customer service. The staff at Alan's were incredibly informative and honest. Suzie answered all my questions very quickly with incredible patience. Their web page and ordering process is very efficient and seems to consider all eventualities for purchasing the structures offered. A very pleasant and polite buying experience!
