Local moving in New Jersey is our specialty, and we guarantee we will get the job done right. Our goal is 100 percent customer satisfaction, and we are here to make your move as stress-free as possible. Local moves are not as stressful as many other types of moves, but no move is without its inherent hassles.
Are you planning a long-distance move? Long-distance moves are those that are further than within the same city. This could mean from city to city or even across state lines. These moves require a little more planning than a typical in-town move, and we recommend you begin planning the moving process as early as you are able to avoid any missteps along the way.
Moving across the country is a big enough endeavor, so now imagine moving across an ocean to another country! There are so many considerations to take, and some you might not realize. This is why it is so important to hire international movers who have the background and know-how for every step of way.
Looking around your home or office when you know you are moving soon can be quite overwhelming. Where will everything go? How will you move it all? More importantly, when will you move it all? Often times, the answers to these questions won't match up completely perfectly. You may have a move-in date set that is a few days or weeks after the move-out date of your current place.

Honestly, do yourself a favor and move on to the next quote you received. If I could give them 0 stars for my last experience I would. I used this company in November (it's April as I write this) and had the absolute worst experience possible. I signed my agreement with Ashley, she was seemingly lovely and told me my monitors, tv, etc would be wrapped and boxed (emphasis on boxed).
When the movers came the day of I can't even tell you how awful it was! They didn't protect my couch they threw the cushions in the back of the truck not wrapped in plastic or anything (I guess cleanliness isn't a concern for them). They did not box anything, they threw a blanket over my TVs and my computer monitor for my home office and threw it on the truck sitting on top of one of my tables.
Instead of disassembling the bed which they were supposed to do, they decided to try to take it in one piece (out of what I can only assume is sheer laziness) when They bent my bed frame as a result I tried speaking to the lead mover who was a piece of work. I have never in my life felt so belittled, he was condescending and rude. At one point he handed me my lamp shade and said "here you take this so it doesn't get damaged" (the previous movers I've used boxed that same lamp shade when they moved me - I would have used them they were lovely if they were available that day but sadly they weren't - check out Mahwah movers they were amazing!). Honestly, I just wanted the whole experience to end.
I was estimated at $400-500 and paid $756. During the move I was so upset I called and emailed Ashley to tell her all the awful things that were being done to my personal belongings. She listened but couldn't offer much help. I submitted a claim for a cracked computer monitor and for my queen size storage bed and only heard back today (about 4.5 months later) that they would settle my claim for $125 for the bed and $20 for the monitor.
They claimed they use some standard I tried to make the point that my estimate service list said the weight of the bed was 455 and the monitor was 55 or something like that and my understanding of the documents I signed was $1 per pound she said not based on the estimated weight based on some arbitrary system and I said well when someone is signing a document it is based on the information provided them and that their documents didn't state it was on a system.
Long story short I can't even replace the bed or monitor they broke for the $145 they are saying my claim is worth and I wish I never used this moving company. I didn't even list ALL of the problems because I didn't want this to get too long! STAY AWAY and thank me later.

Move was stressful which started with discussions around quotes not in good faith. The team Dropped my live edge table which followed with just outright denying the incident when it happened in front of me. Called the office to enquire about insurance who gave the run around of will do it afterwards which never happened. While i don't really care about the damage so much but the overall the experience was stressful, combative at times uneasy/awkward. Attaching some photos of the damage to the table. There were plenty minor incidents throughout the move. Would not recommend.

I moved on January 20,2022 from Montvale N J to North Brunswick, NJ I had almost everything boxed & taped down with the exception of Furniture. I was downsizing so I only moved my bedroom set, living room, sofa, 2 end tables. 2 lamps &a coffee table, 2 bookcases (1 small),5 (not large) cabinets pictures (most boxed also a small desk. There was no dining room or kitchen.
The movers arrived at 10:00am & proceeded to retape with an excessive amount of packing tape. This took an extremely & unnecessary amount of time. To make a long story short: they finally had me moved and finished at my new apartment at 10:00pm. My final bill came to $3160.28 John asked me if I could give him $160.00 in cash which I did ( it nothing to do is a tip, which I gave separately) the bill was put on a charge which cleared.
However when I received my bill it was for $3286.38. I have call repeatedly to try to get an answer and have been given one excuse after another with no answers. To say I'm completely disgusted with this company & the way I have been treated. I feel I have been very patient waiting for answers. As a woman who was almost the top I feel I was completely taken advantage of, and would not recommend AAA Movers! Debra Robles

I was very skeptical of hiring AA American movers because at first glance my thoughts was I am going to get ripped off. The reason for feeling this way was when I call them up someone in Florida would answer and I live in New Jersey. It took me a week and some days for them to convince me to hire them. I wish I would have obey my gut feeling and not hire these guys.
They was very unprofessional except for one of four movers who actually know what he was doing. From my recollection only one worker was actually from AA American movers all the other mover was helpers. Many pieces of my furniture were scratched and chipped. The movers did use moving blankets but did not completely wrap my furniture which caused my furniture to get chips and scratches.
I did not report all the damages these workers have caused because of my busy schedule. They even bend my mattress so badly when I try to get out of my bed I just slide out, no firmness. Then I put in for a claims and recorded all the damages just to be told I was denied my claim because I should have been watching the movers as they emptied the furniture from the truck and before I sign the acknowledgment I should have checked all my furniture.
First of all my furniture was all over the place it was a mess and I was not able to see majority of the furniture that was damaged. It was when I started setting up my furniture I discovered the damages. On top of all this at the end of the delivery the movers wanted me to pay them $80 dollar per person to get something to eat. They actually waited one hour for me to run twice to the bank to get them some money, I gave them $150.00 and they wanted more.
I will never recommend American movers because they are unfair and their workers are greedy and unprofessional! I do not recommend them at all and if it was up to me you get no stars.

EDIT: This update is ONLY (and I mean ONLY) for Donna's assistance. She was friendly & courteous - assisted as much as she could and I appreciate her. I still feel as if the reimbursement I received is on the lower end, but considering I'm still waiting on the claims process to be complete, I am hopeful something will get resolved. Donna was friendly & I appreciate her assistance.
That said, the delivery was a nightmare. They finally showed up a week later (actually, nine days past the window ended and a month after they picked up my items). EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF FURNITURE CAME BROKEN OR DAMAGED. I ended up throwing out half of my furniture & all of my daughters toys. There are countless things that are missing (including vacuum cleaner, clothing, a toddler table) and the boxes I did get delivered were delivered in the worst shape I've ever seen in my entire life. Boxes of clothing were ripped open and had mold and water damage, boxes marked FRAGILE FINE CHINA were delivered broken. Additionally, they didn't communicate to the delivery people that there were two drop-off locations (despite being on the contract and reiterated multiple times).
In addition to that, the customer service department called me for my payment before even having the delivery made and I was happy to oblige and asked if there is an additional fee to pay with a credit card vs a debit card. I was advised there wasn't and I would be charged an amount. Low and behold, I was charged 3% credit card fee. Thankfully, Donna took care of this for me and refunded me the fee. NEVER, EVER USE THIS COMPANY. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD.
I HAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DAMAGES AND AM LEFT WITH UNUSABLE FURNITURE. STAY AWAY. STAY FAR AWAY. Original Post: This was my second time using A.A. Moving & Storage in the course of a year. I was moving from NJ to Miami. When I signed the contract, I was advised my furniture would be delivered between 12/27/21-1/8/22 & was assured it'll be before New Years as there were other jobs coming down to Florida and they just need to put that time period on the contract for insurance purposes. Fine.
Furniture was picked up on 12/23/21. It is now 1/11/22 & I don't have my furniture still. I received a phone call over the weekend that the furniture would be delivered on Tuesday, 1/11/22 between 8am-12pm to my first location (I have two delivery sites and both are high rises with strict rules regarding move-in times). After calling multiple times to see where they were as it is past the window, I was informed that they actually never left New Jersey and they "only found out about that now".
This is after I had to arrange childcare, take off of work, arrange with the management company in my buildings & rearrange everything to get this going. They continuously claim that they "just found about this now" despite me reiterating that is impossible that they just found out that the furniture never left the warehouse. Everyone keeps saying they "just found out about this now" after I called multiple times to see where the movers actually are - as if this was being delivered from an hour away and not a 24-hour drive away.
Nobody has an answer for me. Everyone keeps transferring me & while Ben is being nice & trying to get this resolved, he has no answers for me as their NJ hub isn't answering him and no one knows what actually happened. As of now, they don't know when my furniture will be delivered & I am now on week three of sleeping on air mattresses with a toddler and one bag of clothing as everything else is in the moving boxes. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I scheduled a move date with Chelsea, She was great, I had to reschedule my move, and they were really easy to work with! Came on time actually 30 minutes early, and everything was professionally done, right from disassembling furniture and reassembling it! They we pretty open with the cost, which was reasonable and did not have any hidden charge! The movers also had a few tips into getting this done around the house which was great! thanks a lot!

From my first call to American to my moving day I was completely satisfied. Melissa was wonderful, she eased my concern about hidden costs and the price was reasonable. I had to change my move date and they worked with me without an issue. On my move date, the movers arrived on time. They were super professional and pleasant. I offered them food ( donuts) and something to drink but they politely declined and said they wanted to stay on schedule.
They were very careful with my furniture and my walls in my house. They were patient with furniture placement and overall just a pleasure. I wound recommend American a million times and will use them if I ever moved again. Thanks so much for making my moving experience a pleasure and stress free

The service was outstanding. The movers showed up on time and were very pleasant people. They paid extra attention to all my items and VERY FAST and efficient. The pricing was decent especially for the quality of work. I was so please. American Moving made everything easy. Their office team is really professional as well. Great experience!
