Update from 8/21/20 review. After 8 days of sone furniture having been left at the old property (not small stuff- including Weber grill, basketball nets, outdoor dining table for which they had delivered only the chairs) and broken furniture not fixed as they promised and no response to calls, voicemails and texts from Ramsey's, they finally called me.
To scream at me. They appallingly accused me - after failing to even finish the job or send a bill- of trying to get out of payment all along, or of not having funds to pay them. They denied breaking my furniture or leaving it at the old property, blamed me for not being "prepared" for an incomplete move that took 18 hours, and were so rude to me and so aggressive I had to end the call. And I still have no response from them as to how they are going to fix the problem.

Chadds Ford Pennsylvania Movers showed up on time and were wearing masks for COVID-19 protection. Arrived with an outstanding smile and attitude. They professionally looked over the conditions that they would have to map out to performed the movement of materials. The owner also showed up and it was a totally awesome working with the entire team. In today's world with all the anxiety that is going this team took quality service to its highest level. This is the company you need if you want the job done right and want someone to go above and beyond. Thank you Scott and Ramsey Movers

We bought our West Philly rowhouse in 2015, and we love all the details from its construction in 1886--especially because there have been some key improvements through the years. The previous owners installed the full-size washer and dryer on the second floor, and we really appreciated that, especially after our son was born in August 2019. When he was one month old, the washer died, and we knew it needed to be replaced.
And that's when we realized that thanks to those narrow nineteenth-century stairs, the only way to get the old machine out and a new machine in was through a second-floor window. Luckily for us and our ever-growing pile of baby laundry, Ramsey's made it happen. Scott and his team carefully hoisted our brand-new washing machine to the second floor and even took the time to install it in the stack with our existing dryer, with Scott grabbing tools and hardware from his own car to ensure the most secure connection.
They also carefully removed the old machine and set it out for disposal. The meticulous rigging and complex installation wound up taking longer than expected, but Scott generously took himself off the clock and even waived the hoisting fee to lower the old washer so as to keep the costs down. The crew was unfailingly pleasant to work with, and they were careful throughout to protect our floors, walls, and windowsills. We certainly hope that our new washer lasts a long time--but at least now we know to call Ramsey's next time!

We needed a piano moved into a house. Ramsey's gave a timely quote. Despite the fact that I somehow deleted the con tract before submitting it. And mixing up the dates on an email, they very kindly worked us into the schedule. Move accomplished efficiently and professionally despite my mistakes. A big thanks to Ramsey's!

We used Ramsey's in 2010 and regretted it. The quote they gave us was ultimately no where near what they ended up charging. It cost us almost TWICE their estimate. Their original estimate was $800-$900. By the end, they charged us $1,500. When they showed up, one of the movers had a family emergency (his uncle had passed) and had to leave. They did not send another mover and then charged us for the extra hours it took to move.
One of the movers was on the phone with Scott (owner) about needing more help but was told no one was available. The mover got off the phone and then he and the other mover laughed complained that, "All he cares about is money. He's not going to send anybody." We tried to resolve this issue and were told, "You had more boxes than we anticipated. That's why is cost more." We emailed and called and were essentially told that it wasn't their fault that we were overcharged.
I warn everyone against using Ramsey's. Their owners could care less about your experience as long as they get your money. The most they offered was $100 refund. After numerous attempts to talk to them about a more appropriate resolution, they did not respond. When someone leaves a negative review, they blame the customers and accuse them of lying.
When I posted a review on their facebook page, they claimed that they had no record of our "supposed move" and that my statements were "derogatory and untrue." Those types of accusations sum up their poor customer service. DO NOT USE RAMSEY'S!

Ramsey's moved me across town this weekend and they were great! Very professional, timely, and really nice guys. They worked quickly and did an excellent job making sure my furniture and boxes were well taken care of and got where they needed to go. They worked with me to figure out exactly how many movers and hours I would need and gave me a very fair estimate. Definitely recommended if you are looking for professional movers!

Estimated move at six hours. They took ten hours. At over $200 an hour. When I called to ask why they were over the estimated time they were extremely rude and unprofessional. They didn't miss the estimate by a little bit, they were 66% over. One of the movers at my house told us the estimator, Scott, does that all the time. There are plenty of other moving companies out there. Nobody should even consider using this company.

We hired Ramseys on two occasions once for home and the second time for moving my office. We found the owners and staff to be very meticulous and professional. Pricing was also better than the other two quotes we received. We were very pleased with both jobs that they have performed for us and have recommended them to others.
