We stored our RV at Gold Key for about 18 months. Their communication was excellent and our RV was safe and secure. Our cover blew off many times, they always called to let us know or just went and recovered it for us, which was above and beyond. We sold our RV but if we ever have storage needs we will definitely be back! Extra THANK YOU to Amber for going above and beyond!

I have been a client with Gold Key Storage - El Dorado Hills for over 4 1/2 years. There have been numerous customer service reps during this time. Amber is far and above superior to all the rest. I had an issue with my door on my unit since I rented it. I was promised from day one (and a minimum 4 times a year) that it would be fixed. As soon as Amber found out about my problem, she had it fixed in less than a week.
This is just one example of the fine employee Amber is. I was thinking of leaving Gold Key but Amber did a wonderful job explaining to me why I need to stay with GK. I would consider leaving if Amber ever leaves. She is an asset for Gold Key.

Although I had signed up as a customer of Gold Key Storage EDH a couple of months ago, I just made use of the storage facility today. I had to be re-educated on the procedures on how to access the facility. At first my entry code didn't work, but Amber came to my rescue. Wirth sweet professionalism she re -programmed my entry code and led me through the process.
She stayed with me until I got it right. Once inside I remembered why I chose GoldenKey Storage. The place was spotless, the lighting was great. I had to use the rest room, and that also was exceptionally clean. as was the entire facility. With Amber as my guide, I knew I was in a class A place

Gold Key Storage came to my rescue to store about 1500 bottles of wine needing cool storage in a special room so my wine was kept in one location for easy access. A special call out to one of their employees, Amber who was exceedingly helpful on several occasions to assist me. Candidly I found some of the other employees pretty much mediocre having trouble gaining access in a reasonable time frame.
Not so with Amber, she was a wiz. The only reason this review did not get 5 stars was because less capable people assisted me on what apparently was Amber's days off. Thanks again Gold Key. Appreciated, Jim Lawson.

In the process of locking up my unit, I managed to break the key to the lock while the lock was in a locked position while storage unit remained unsecured. Christina in the office was very nice, helpful and assisted with the need to cut the lock and issue me a new lock and keys. Anatoli was very efficient in cutting the old lock and allowing me to lock up my unit successfully. The customer service of these two individuals was amazing and certainly helped a not good situation to be rectified quickly. Thank you you two!

I feel GoldKey storage was a very fine place to store mt trailer, but my plans changed where I had to move to another location for family reasons. Amber was more than helpful in arranging my storage. If things changed, I would store there again, and I would be more happy to return to their facility.

Gold key has been here many years. Their long term presence is a positive attribute- I count on its stability. Long operating hours for those storing there is another plus. They retail storage supplies and are staffed for customer service in business hours. The indoor storage found here may be friendlier to delicate or sensitive items. Rental rates are on-par with other locally quoted pricing.

We stored our boat here for 2 years, and paid monthly for the service. Last year, they moved our contract from July to December, (which favors them). Now, we sold the boat and they are charging us the balance of the year in fees - when we don't even have a boat there! Will not recommend, and will, in fact, tell everyone we know about our experience.
They are collecting our money - and they are doing nothing to earn it. In fact, they can re-sell our space, and in effect get paid DOUBLE for the same space. Unacceptable. Worst customer experience ever.

We have been customers at Gold Key for over 5 years and they have been wonderful. The storage facility is very clean and we love that our boat can be stored indoors. We have the VIP service which is amazing and I love that we can request to have the gas topped off and have ice waiting in the boat for us. Shawn is awesome-he's always so helpful and knowledgeable and makes the transport service flawless.

I just signed up with GoldKey for boat storage. My initial experience has been very positive. Anatoli was very helpful. He explained the service offering very thoroughly and was prompt to generate the contract and support my needs. I don't have any experience dropping off and picking my boat up yet but confident it will be positive!

I have rented a unit at Gold Key storage since they opened in 2004. In the beginning the ownership group was great. However i believe Gold Key was sold. New owners have been a nightmare. I have always had my rent due on the 15th. New owners changed due date to the 1st of each month. I prepaid two weeks to avoid late charges.wrong idea because new owners changed me a late fee, because I didn't pay full rent on the 1st.
They took late fees out of my prepaid rent! Every 10 months the Rent goes up. A new renter can rent my same unit for $30 less than what I pay. I have been a renter for 13+ years. On a good note. The staff they hire at the facility are always GREAT. Always very helpful. However staff turnover is very high.

Rented a unit here during my moving process to EDH. Everything that didn't fit in the pod which was a lot. Trusted them with storing the tv and other larger expensive items. Super professional and friendly dealings with each employee I talked to. They have excellent rates. I was VERY happy with the price, rented for only a month but considered keeping it just because.
Very nice facility. Personal code required at the doors via punch pad, and they're quick to close behind you as you're loading/unloading. I choose to look at that as a positive. Plenty of large flat dollies staged right at the sliding doors. Plenty of entrances. Large elevators. I had a second floor unit around a corner and down a hall, and it was no problem getting my stuff in n out.
Well lit, all on motion sensor, kinda creepy when you're the only person in the entire place but pretty rad. Keeps energy costs down I get it. Plenty of security cameras, again a positive. Clean bathrooms, definite positive. The units themselves are corrugated sheet metal walls and chicken wire ceiling, which I suppose if someone wanted my shit, they'd fall into the unit and would have a hell of a time getting out and trying to steal stuff at the same time.
But if the ceiling bugs you request a first floor unit. They were near capacity when I rented and was lucky to get the one I got. They also sell bomb proof locks if you show up and don't have one like i did.

It's a nice facility and a friendly staff, but they raise the rent every year! Last year my 10x10 was raised by $15! I downsized to a 5x5 getting rid of a bunch of stuff and this year they are raising that one by $10! At this rate I may as well move units there every year just to get a better rate! This is how they treat their loyal customers? Yearly rent raises?! If I were you I'd go elsewhere because other people tell me that they don't have this problem!

I put a deposit down for storage locker. Two hours later I canceled the reservation, requested my deposit back. turns out I didn't require storage after all. That was over month ago and the owner still refuses to return my deposit to this day. Instead he offers to apply it towards a future rental agreement. Awful customer service. What does it tell you about the owners character?

In April I moved a rather large wine collection to GoldKey's Wine Storage lockers. Before the move, I asked a lot of questions, all of which were answered promptly and concisely. On the day of the move, Melissa and Anatoly could not have been more helpful in explaining the set up and getting me settled into six adjoining lockers. The general area and lockers themselves are secure, and the room is kept at the right temperature and humidity.
I am grateful to have found such a facility so near our new home and community. I have since returned and gaining access with my code is simple and easy. The only criticism I have is with the initial set up and auto bill-paying options. Each of the six lockers had to be entered separately rather than assigning me a block of them on a one-time basis; it took over an hour.
When I changed my auto-pay option, I had to again make six different entries. It wasn't brain surgery, but it sure was tedious and inefficient. All in all, I am very pleased with the facility and the customer service and would not hesitate to recommend GoldKey to others.

Gold Key Boat storage I can't say enough about the personable customer service, the professionalism, or the top of line service Gold Key Boat storage provides. They prepare the boat with fresh ice in the cooler, wipe down the interior, and even check the trailer's tire pressure as part of their regular service. Everyone is friendly, informative, and helpful.
This summer they went above and beyond my expectations by assisting us with a flat tire on Labor Day (when everyone else was closed). They saved the day. Thanks Jon, Shannon, Vincent, Kevin! You guys rock!

Owner called me up, and cussed at me and wouldn't let me respond without cutting me off and yelling and cussing. I don't know what his problem is, but I haven't had anything in their lockers for over 2 months. I've never had such a rude experience with a business owner over what is most likely some misplaced paperwork. Go over to iStorage and rent from them, they treat you like a person. And now he is texting my phone regarding his Yelp review. Absolutely unbelievable.

I called around looking for storage for my travel trailer and decided to go with this place, but they failed to tell me they are back in only with only 8 feed wide. Unfortunately, I failed to check them before signing the paperwork as they were in the back, I told him once I pulled around to the back that these spaces will not work for my 31 foot trailer once the other spaces fill up.
I also had been there for over 1 hour and was in a hurry. I came back 9 days later and moved the trailer to a much better location with security gate and 12 feet wide angled spots, like I expected. CAN YOU GET THIS, they charged me 2 complete months for 9 days there! Since I checked in on the 29th and left on the 7th. Management said they are working on getting my money back, but it has been 4 months now, and 4 calls later. Don't deal with this place!

This storage facility is quite nice and is climate controlled. My complaint is with the General Manager, Eli. There have been 2 instances in which Eli has been fairly lame in doing his job. #1- I arrived and had a question, so I went to the office and it was closed and locked during business hours (approx. 3pm). When I called, Eli answered the phone.
I asked why he wasn't open during business hours and his response was "By law, I have to take a break." That's fine, but what are you taking a break from exactly? Sitting? #2- I arrived on another occasion to help a friend get some items from storage. I went to the office to use the restroom. I was looking around for someone to ask exactly which door was the restroom, but there was nobody in sight.
I finally found Eli in the office, on the floor, surrounded by toys and baby snacks, holding a baby. So, I guess GoldKey now has childcare? I asked where the bathroom was and he pointed in a general direction (from his position on the floor). As I walked toward the door he said "No, THAT one!" Umm.that's where I was going, Eli. Thanks. Who owns this place? I don't think it's Eli. Maybe someone needs to monitor his daily activities. Otherwise, GoldKey works if you need to store something.

These guys are terrible to deal with. We signed for a month to month contract and had it auto billed to a corporate AMEX card. In the middle of a month, they notified us that they will no longer accept AMEX and needed a new form of payment. Upon receiving that notification, we had no choice but to vacate the unit. They are now trying to hold us to the 30 day notification clause even though THEY changed the terms of the deal! Despite multiple requests to contact their management, they have declined to respond. Do yourself a favor and select one of the other storage facilities in the area.
