The late owner Dale Morton started Morton Moving & Storage in 1977, but long before that he learned the moving trade while traveling with his dad on moves. He learned firsthand what it meant to provide professional quality relocation services. His beliefs in "good business", strong work ethic, and a commitment to excellence lives on through his namesake and the company's mission.
Serving the West Tennessee area since 1977, we are locally owned, professional full-service movers. With over 100 years of combined experience in our company alone, Morton Moving & Storage is a fully licensed and insured moving company. We are a Tennessee Drug Free Workplace participant and background check our employees, so you can feel confident trusting us in your home and business.
We generally ask that you give us as much notice as you can at least 1-2 weeks prior to your move. We understand when changes to your schedule occur and ask that you notify us as soon as possible to allow us time to accommodate your needs. In brief, we ask that you be present during the packing of your belongings.

From the begining it was a joke. They put my last name wrong, they cancelled last minute to pick up my furniture and my closing was the next day. When they did get to my house they had no tv boxes with them, which I asked for when I sent the deposit. The truck seemed too small for my stuff, even the driver thought it wouldn't fit but the backed it up real tight.
The three gentlemen did a great job loading but when it came to unloading it was another story. One of them was sick and I was saying I hope you don't have covid as he was touching my stuff and had no mask. Now while they were at my new home they broke my grandmother's marble table, let's not discuss the value and my great loss there. They also broke my jewelry box scrapped my newly painted wall, my boxes I watched them toss upside down and toss around.
I can only imagine what my stuff inside looks like.i saw one of my Christmas totes fall and opened with one of my coffee mugs broken again what else I haven't looked. My adjustable bed base is broke and they lost my power cord saying that's the way it was.now come on really. they broke a book case and scratched my dresser. I also got someone else's dog cage and I hope that someone didnt get anything from me. the y need to work out a new system with their tags to make sure everything is accounted for.
I keep trying to get a claims report and I'm having no luck my furniture was delivered 15 days ago and unpacking my belonging I discovered I missing a box with my work clothes and and picture with basin. People don't move it's costly in more ways than one.

Three fellows did my move yesterday, I'm a senior and found them very respectful and a joy to be around. My daughter was with me and them and liked them also. Encountered no problems, had antique furniture, took good care and wrapped everything. Know they like their jobs when you hear they can laugh, a good sign. No problem recommending them. Close because they were local.

Terrible experience. Call charged me $900 for boxes, packing paper and tape. Underestimated my move and couldn't deliver. I had to live in a hotel for two days with nothing, not even a toothbrush! They did not offer any reimbursement. They damage to pieces of furniture beyond repair. I filed a claim and sent pictures three months ago. I have heard nothing.
I have contacted them three times in an attempt to resolve. All of my tools disappeared prior to delivery of my household goods. The only good point, all of the gentleman who packed up and unpacked my house were very nice, professional, and respectful. I would not recommend and I will not use this company again.

On 01/22/2020 they picked up my furniture and personal effects to store during the renovation of my apartment. On 03/13/2020 they returned my furniture and personal effects. I had 3 boxes missing and damage to some of my furniture. I called the office of the company to report the damage and missing items. They were very rude and told me they would send me a report to fill out, (which they never did), One of his movers was aware of the damage when they delivered my possessions back to me.
Now they refuse to answer my calls, and I had to file a police report for my own insurance company to cover my losses and damage. I am writing this so that hopefully another customer will not go through the stress that I have with this company. My missing items may not mean much to them, but they meant a lot to me. If I could give them less than one star I would. Needless to say, I would never recommend these people for anything.

We were very pleased with Morton Moving. We would use them again and recommend them highly. The guys worked hard and knew what they were doing. It was a pleasure working with Tim, Richard and Steve. They were friendly, good Christian men, willing to do anything I ask them to do. Thank you guys for taking all the stress of moving off my shoulders even in the rain. God bless.

Could not have asked for a better moving experience. From scheduling, planning, packing, transit, and unpack this group has it figured out. The staff was not only courteous and helpful, but also very patient as we placed furniture and then moved from room to room. No item was too small or too big and these guys respected our belongings and home. If you are moving and not using these guys then you are missing out on a 5 star experience.

Do not use these movers. Amelia Morton lied about their service standards and her customer service skills need fixing when it comes to damaging someone else's property and furniture. Very defensive when you present her when cold-hard facts about your rights as a customer and holding people like her to their word. Hired this company to move, primarily, my leather couches. Discussed this in detail with Amelia, and she guaranteed that my couches would be treated with care.
The movers DAMAGED them, shoving them through my doorway without regard to the damage happening to my beautiful couches and the apt building. They busted a light outside & my door needed to be replaced. I informed Amelia right after this and she asked for pictures, which is only fair. But to say that you'll make it right and drag your feet for over 2 weeks, not getting an upholster or informing the apt complex of the damage you're responsible for is UNACCEPTABLE.
She became very RUDE when I'd call for followups on her progress. As a member of Atlas, and their "standards" I would recommend this people to move anything you don't want damaged. She paid me the standard rate for the damage, but not near enough to fix my couches. All along, that's all I wanted and I got treated poorly.

My service from the company was satisfactory. until I caught one of the workers in my medicine cabinet and the worker, named Daniel, had a bottle of my perscription pain killers in his hand! I was in a leg cast and was in obvious need of them. I cant speak for the rest of the workers there, but this particular worker i would consider untrustworthy. Becareful who you let in your home.
