A company is only as strong as its roots, and A-1 Freeman Moving Group's roots are firmly planted in a culture of honesty, integrity, and hard work. In 1974, Jim Freeman founded A-1 Freeman Moving Group in Oklahoma City, OK on a belief that he could build an organization that would provide better quality and value for his customers.

First of all I've never made a negative post for a business like this before but this move was so bad I had to let others know! A-1 came to our home and already had three other homes loaded on the truck. They couldn't put everything on the truck. Said they weren't sure when they could get the rest of our possessions to us. (about 1/3 of what was being moved.) It took two or three weeks to get the rest of our stuff with the exception that they lost eight to 10 boxes of our possessions.
They were short handed on the second and third delivery and I had to help them unload! I called and complained to them and said our stuff couldn't have just vanished. They said they'd look. Nothing was found and they said to fill out claim form which for broken things is possible but we can't make a claim on 8 to 10 boxes of things they lost. Very unprofessional and no help at all!

The account manager, Ryan Cruse, who came out to my house to give me the initial estimate was very helpful, professional, and prompt. Nancy Garrett at the office was very responsive and helpful arranging the delivery. The driver, Nicole, was also very pleasant and professional. The crews who packed and unpacked were very polite and took great care with my items. My actual cost even came in almost $900 under the estimate. I would highly recommend A-1 Freeman Moving!

This company has no ethics. They did not vet the movers properly. My moving cost me at least $58,000. Theft occurred.from what my attorney has communicated to me, they do not vet their workers properly. Be safe and if I could do this over again I would have had family or friends observing them during the whole move. Addendum: Response to owner's comment: The items that were stolen from my home were not to be moved.
That's why they were not listed in the inventory list of items moved. They were easily accessible for one wishing to take. I had them stored in a closet which I could not watch the whole time of the moving experience. I am not making any false accusations. The items were stolen from me. They were present before the movers came and then missing after they left.
I am a physician with high ethical and moral standards. It's not all about the financial value, it is about the principal of how this business transaction was handled. Again, the movers were apparently selected/hired by the driver and not properly vetted. One of the movers has a history of arrest and charge for theft, battery and kidnapping.

I can't say enough good about this company. We dealt with Bruce in the OKC office, who is a seasoned professional and took care of us from the initial phone call and through the entire move. We had originally booked a move with America Van Lines to move from KC to OKC. Long story short, the day before the move, AVL informed us "due to a truck size miscalculation they had to reschedule our load date and moved it back almost 3 weeks". Unbelievable but true!
Read my negative review about them on google for more info. We were in a panic. Since we were moving to OKC, we called a company by the name of A1-Freeman in OKC to see if they could help us; they are a North American Van Lines affiliate. After some preliminary discussion Bruce said he'd check to see when they could move us and he would call us back.
He called back within the hour and said he had a truck in KS and they could be at our home the next day. This was incredibly good news. Bruce did a face time walk through with us to see what we were moving.something American didn't do. He stayed in communication (phone and email) with us all that day, sent us an itemized list of everything being moved for us to sign (very professional), sent all kinds of documents and moving info that was helpful (none of this was done by American) and just gave us a warm and fuzzy feeling that we were in good hands.
The next day a 48 foot van arrived at our home and the move commenced. This was the most professional moving experience we've ever had and we've moved numerous times in the past 15 years. The truck owner/driver (Marvin) is just as seasoned and professional as Bruce. Marvin's a no BS, "lets get this done professionally" take charge kind of guy and the people he hires locally respect him and do a great job for him.he made our move almost a pleasure.
The following day we unloaded in OKC with another local "Marvin" hand picked team, who were just as professional as the ones in KC. Marvin only does moves within 500 miles of OKC, so if this works for you, ask for him by name. What a difference dealing with A1-Freemen made.honest, communicative and professional people. With American Van Lines we dealt with young women only, who gave no indication they were professionals or that they even cared about our move.and never called back.we had to initiate all communication.
American dropped the ball so many times its hard to blame any one person, but the customer pays the penalty for their incompetence. The A-1 Freeman group was just the opposite and the very best we could ever hope for. Hats off for a very professional group of people who understand customer service and the stress people go through when moving.

Our experience with A-1 Freeman wasn't good. Our driver could not pick up our load and move it on the scheduled date of move. A driver did come and pack our household but then our belongings sat in OKC for nearly two weeks. The company had great difficulty in finding a substitute driver to deliver our goods to Nashville. The contract date of delivery meant nothing.
Delivery was a week past the contract date. Because of the late delivery, we actually had to drive back to OKC to get things off of the truck for our son who was starting college. The company didn't even offer to pay our mileage reimbursement or the cost of a hotel in OKC. The rep would not return emails when we asked for reimbursement. We had multiple bookshelves that were slightly damaged (holes punched through the back).
We paid the extra money for insurance against any damage, but when I emailed the rep regarding the damage, he never emailed me back. We have moved three times with professional movers and never had damage. Just overall, a very poor experience.

Update! I have moved two more times (one cross country & the other only 86 miles) since the move with A-1 Freeman back in 2014 & stupidly used other companies. I will NEVER make that mistake again! The other two moves were hideous & nowhere near the level of service provided by A-1 Freeman! Use them! I have never moved this far before but can't imagine it gets any easier than this!
My agent, Bruce, was timely & efficient in his evaluation of our household goods. My packers were amazing! They were extremely efficient & careful. Out of the 11,000 lbs that was shipped from Oklahoma to Ohio, only one thing was broken & they didn't even pack that item! I can't say enough how fantastic the guys on the loading/unloading teams (both sides-Oklahoma & Ohio!) performed. Everyone should use A-1 Freeman if they want a seamless, flawless move with their possessions leaving & arriving intact!

We had a great experience with A-1 Freeman for our move from Fort Worth to Oklahoma City. Estimator, packers, and moving crew were all courteous and did an excellent job. The office staff kept us informed every step of the way, and worked with us to extend our storage time while we were searching for a new home. We will definitely use them again!

My moving experience with A-1 Freeman Moving Group was fabulous. My move from OKC to Tyler had been planned using family and friends. Those plans fell through one week before I needed to move. I called A-1. Bruce N. came out and gave me an estimate for the move (approx. 8000 lbs). The professionalism shown by each member of the A-1 Freeman Moving Group from that day until my items were delivered in Tyler TX was exemplary.
The moving crew was FAST, but efficient loading my items. I could not find any damage to anything they touched. They were punctual for the pick up and the delivery times. The extra pickup enroute was handled beautifully. I have nothing but praise for Hollis (the driver) and his crew. If I ever have another move in my life or if a friend needs to move, I will highly recommend using A-1 Freeman Moving Group to get the job done correctly and efficiently. Thanks guys!

I won't use them again, nor would I recommend them. Nothing against the movers themselves (the actual people doing the work) but rather the blatant overcharging they do. I received a quote for $680.00 to move a 1000 Sq foot apartment. All said and done it took them almost 7 hours to move my apartment, which was already boxed up and ready to go, to a new place 8 miles away.
Then I got the bill, over $1000.00. When I called my move coordinator, who coordinated nothing as far as I could tell since the movers had to ask me where they were taking my stuff, she informed me the advertised "highly accurate qoute" was a really a vague guesstimate and varied by the amount of time to complete the move, which of course is charged by the hour.
How surprising that it took all day to move, all became clear. Don't use this company. They will drag out the move process to an all day affair to keep the meter running and massively overcharge you. I will use local companies from now on.

The gentleman that came to our home was fantastic, he took a lot of time to bid the job and thank god offered the optional insurance. The packing from our original home was good and completed the day promised. From here however things started to go down hill quick. the delivery driver was almost a week outside of the targeted window. Once arriving he told us that the truck he had transported our furniture in had broken down.
He was forced to re-pack another truck and the care was no where near that was taken on the packing in the first place. Once my furniture arrived my kitchen table was damaged my couch was torn and our brand new bed was leaning against the trucks rolling door which in turn was covered in grease. We created a claim against the insurance which when sold was stated that if things couldnt be repaired they would be replaced.
Its not been several months since the delivery and my furniture is still not taken care of. They sent me a check and I was not responsible for figuring out how to find a place to make the repairs. This has been a total inconvenience, the bed stains were not all removed to I called the company, now they are saying its going to be 45-60 days to review the claim.
The moral of the story over promise and under deliver. I wont have a answer on my replacement for almost 5-months since the final delivery. Its not a wonder that movers get a bad reputation they get what they deserve.
