The front office scheduled my service for the wrong day and the packers showed up 2.5 hours early and were already "running the meter" so I was being changed while the team waited for me to finish up a few things in the house before they got started. The packers only half filled boxes and didn't wrap fragile items. The guy who loaded the shipping container was great at least and is the only reason the business got a second star.

I recently moved from Williston to Aiken, SC and used VM&S for the move. The men who handled the moving were very professional and worked in a quick in and effective manner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my family and friends. Rob Spaulding

We hired Vermont Moving & Storage to move our household from Williamstown to Barre in April. I must say the three guys who showed up really hustled and worked hard. But I think in their push to be time-effective, they missed things.many boxes and some furniture ended up in the wrong places (although they worked to fix some things before they left - we just were overwhelmed and didn't notice all of the wrong placements until later), and when they just up and left the house we were moving from, there was still about five pick-up truck size loads of stuff left that we ended up having to move ourselves.

I would have preferred to pay overtime, if that's what it would have taken, but we weren't given an option - they just left at half time (so to speak). Also, they were quite careless moving my stainless steel fridge and the doors are now all scratched up, with one or two dents as well - nothing we can do to fix them. I was very sad to see that. Also, we were told they could pack stuff, if directed.

We had them pack about four boxes, and one of them contained a copper sculpture that was just thrown in a box with other things and it ended up bent all out of shape. So, we end up with a mixture of good and bad here - hard workers, met the estimate, but careless in a few areas. I think I might hire them again, but would certainly have a heart-to-heart prior to any move and point out these shortcomings.

If I could give this company a 0 star review, I would. Not only is the service they provide expensive, they also don't provide self-storage and require you to use their movers to access your storage unit. So, if I wanted to grab my belongings, I would have to pay to have them retrieve one product? This moving company was extremely unprofessional.

When emailing about quotes and services, was responded with attitude and disrespect, especially from Jennifer L. They do not have any consideration for their customers, so be cautious when looking for their business.

Beware! This local company cancelled my cross country move with less than 2 weeks notice and offered no compensation. I had been warned they do this regularly (Jennifer also admitted they did it to others this summer) but I was lured by the low price and that they were local. Shop around for a more professional company that has back up or take your chances with this bunch.

Not worth the risk. I am out thousands and stuck for months since movers book well in advance. Thanks Vermont Moving and Storage for throwing me to the dogs. Please note after their response, I was still out thousands of dollars and left on my own to figure it out. I was never offered help to find another company or offered any monetary compensation. Others have said the same so beware. With so many great moving companies and Vermont to choose from, stay away from this one.

My husband and I recently moved from the Burlington VT area to North Carolina. We hired Vermont Moving & Storage to handle our move. Not one piece of furniture (antique and handmade) or any of our household items sustained any damage. Jennifer and her husband, Bobby, were courteous, professional and responsive. Their employees were top notch. We couldn't be happier with our move and we highly recommend their services to anyone moving into or out of Vermont.

Vermont moving and storage of Winooski moved us from Pittsburgh, PA to Colchester, Vermont. They stored our stuff for four months and we even had them pull and display in the warehouse to see what we had. They couldn't have been nicer. All our goods were delivered without breakage. The guys who packed the boxes in Pittsburgh were the ones who unpacked here. They knew their stuff. Would highly recommend.

We had a great experience with Vermont Moving & Storage. They were prompt, friendly, and very careful with our belongings. In addition, they came in slightly under their time estimate and saved us a few dollars. That's rare. I highly recommend them.

I booked them for a move to Boston. It was VERY expensive and I would not recommend them for the following reasons. They did arrive on time and were efficient loading and unloading (though this was at the expense of causing damage I realized after everything was unloaded). However, they seemed to lack some common sense and loaded bags of trash into the truck, which I had set aside to put in the garbage.

The biggest issue though is that many of my furniture pieces were visibly damaged in the move. An expensive wooden dresser that was in perfect condition (I had photos from just prior to the move to prove this) was scraped on all corners on the front, some of which was several inches and were discolored, and every drawer pull was scratched. It looked as though they either dropped it face down or else scraped the entire front across a surface, such as when passing through a doorway.

Both of the wooden nightstands had new scratches on the top that caused discoloration. A TV stand I had bought less than a year prior had a small puncture on the front. I had purchased insurance in case of damage. I contacted the company promptly afterwards, providing a description of the damage to each piece as well as photos to show the damage. They had me fill out a claims form and then were initially responsive to emails, saying that they'd pay for repairs. However, it has been almost 6 weeks and absolutely nothing has been done in terms of repairs.

They keep saying that they're waiting on responses from repair companies, but I know that local repair companies were responsive to me within a day or two. I would definitely NOT recommend using due to the high costs, carelessness, and clear failure to follow through with honoring insurance plans for damage.

We have moved many times over the past 38 years, and without a doubt, VT Moving & Storage provided the best moving experiences we have ever had. We have used this company several times. The movers have always been extremely careful with our belongings, and they were always courteous, professional, friendly and extremely efficient. For our most move, the movers were Kevin, Tristan, Zeff and Jason - all are excellent and we thank them! Jennifer in the office is always prompt to respond, helpful and very patient as she provides many answers to us. Our estimates have been very close to the actual cost, so no surprises. I recommend this company without reservation.

We have used Vermont Moving for both an office move and a home move. Their crew is on-time, friendly and takes pride in their work. The estimate was exactly what they quoted and each move went seamless and quickly. Highly recommend them.

Very friendly lady I spoke with on the phone - seemed knowledgeable and friendly enough. Despite their website stating pricing for two movers & a truck - she insisted they only book three movers and a truck. OK, whatever. Placed the initial call mid week to book Tuesday of the next week - said I would hear from dispatch on Friday or Monday for a Tuesday AM move - hrmm.

No call Friday, was busy, no big deal. Called Monday AM, still no time from dispatch - not good. Called Monday afternoon and spoke with the same lady - still very friendly, said "she was just about to call me" - which I am not sure if that was the case because she STILL couldn't give me a time for my move the next day - so, why would she be "just about to call me" if they still didn't have a move time from dispatch? Placed me on hold, came back on the phone - said they would give me a call late morning on my move day to give me a time in the afternoon for the move - not good. Called another moving service to see if I could secure a time - secured another company and a time over the phone within about five minutes for a move the next day. Called VT Moving back towards the end of the day for a "thanks, but no, thanks." Beware - these folks seem to have scheduling issues which is odd for a moving company.

I called several times before actually booking a truck; each time the quoted price was a different amount ranging from $150-200 for storage and as much as $25-40 (over the phone) for each time the mobile unit was moved, to a cost of $51 on the actual quote emailed to me. Albeit slightly annoying, I was fine to deal with all of that, as the mobile unit storage service is something that other movers' in the area don't provide or charge much more for. However, once I finally booked a unit, I received a call the next day saying that they had overbooked and didn't actually have a unit for me.

Every time I had called before this, including two days before I booked, I was assured that they had many units left available and it wouldn't be any trouble at all. It seems like they have poor communication between employees answering the phones and those actually working in the warehouse. Overall, extremely disappointing and I'm left to scramble to find another option.

These guys did a great job with our 3 bedroom house move. Good communication, worked quickly but not in a careless rush, met their quoted cost. Highly recommend and would use them again, although I hope to stay put a while.

The actual cost was only ~$40 higher than the quote. I spent 16 hours of my own time packing and moving small belongings. Be cautious of the quote provided and make sure to ask if the amount you are quoted includes packing time and materials for small belongings. If I hadn't spent the time to move my own small belongings the actual cost would have likey been much much higher than the quote.

They padded the furniture well in the truck. No major damages. Young movers. Good communication throughout the process. The receipt says they started at 7:30 but I find that hard to believe since they started moving at 8:45 and its about a 50 minute commute from the office to my source home. I would have expected the start time to be 8:00. Overall good service but more expensive than I expected.

My recent move experience was excellent thanks to the professional job of this company. The guys were very careful with my things and took great care with my antiques. Nothing damaged! I would highly recommend them.

I can't say enough good things about Robert and Jennifer at VT moving and storage. We moved an entire household across the country and it was complicated. Stuff going into storage and some things going to a temporary residence. My husband had to handle all the packing on his own. They were wonderful. Jenn's communication and coordination and her follow-up was superb and Robert and his crew were efficient, hard working, smart and professional.

They are also a family owned business, which we loved. Super nice people that understand how stressful moving is and are there to help. We couldn't have been happier. Thank you!
