I hired these movers today to help me move. They wound up being a few hours late but kept me informed of their whereabouts the whole time. Turns out a big part of it was bad traffic near the spillway. Once the movers got to my place, it wound up being a positive experience overall. We wound up getting all my stuff moved into my new apartment and storage unit in 2 hours. The guys were completely professional and friendly. Despite the lateness, I'd definitely use this company again.

I had this company, which seems to be just another name for Fast and Affordable College Movers, move my belongings out of storage and into my house. The movers, Chaz and Geoff, were very pleasant to deal with and hustled the entire time. They would have likely been more efficient and had less risk of damaging items or themselves if the company truck had the lift gate fixed, but they had to and did work exceptionally hard to make up for it.
I found the office staff to be rather abrupt on the phone, but not offensive, just to the point. I overheard the boss accosting Chaz and Geoff over the phone while running my card for payment about making sure to get a review. While I intended to write this review anyway, I found that to be very aggressive to the employees and not all customers want to write reviews.
Overall a good experience and not overly expensive, but it would be nice to see the employees actually doing the work be treated better, especially since moving is an incredibly taxing job, which is the reason I hired them and was willing to pay so much in the first place.

Had such a terrible time with this company. I hired them for my move but they never showed up on the day they were scheduled. Around the time they were meant to show up, I didn't even receive a call from them telling me they would be running late or not coming- I had to call and I got the run around, telling me they would be there around a certain time.
I had to keep calling and they kept pushing back the time but they told me they would "definitely" be coming. I told them I absolutely had to be out of my home by midnight. By 6:30PM I called again and they told me they wouldn't be able to assist me with my move. So I was left to rent a uhaul myself and spent 9 hours moving my entire house that evening until 4am. I would suggest booking multiple companies if you decide to book with this company since they apparently can't guarantee to show up even if you have an appointment.

After another mover failed to finish the job, Brad and Cedric with Geaux Movers came to our rescue. Not only did they commit to finishing the job no matter how late it was, they were pleasant, professional and helpful setting up our furniture. I can recommend Cedric and Brad without hesitation. I would give them no stars if possible. They sent 2 men (not movers) with a small truck, which already had some furniture in it, to pack up an entire 4 bedroom house. They were 30 minutes late and had to take another 30 minutes just to move around the furniture that was in the back of the house. Thank goodness we had already packed and moved 85% of the house and just about 15 pieces of heavier furniture were remaining to move.
These guys were very, very slow (because they didn't know how to move furniture). It took them from 11am to 10pm to move the furniture 2 miles. The owner of Geaux Movers, Tom, talks a big game, but cannot deliver. He promised professional movers that would wrap and protect furniture and know how to move a grandfather clock. None of this was even remotely true. I have moved a lot over my life-time and this was the worst day ever - July, 2020. Don't hire them.

I can not say enough about Geaux movers.about how horrifically bad they were. For one, it doesn't exist anymore. It was bought out by College Student Movers over five years ago yet CSM uses the name as a front, along several other area moving services in the area. Thus, you never know who will show up. Our crew showed up with a total of 20 boxes, even though we had told them the move would involve seven tons by wait. 20 boxes handled just our books.
They repeatedly missed their own estimates on time and materials needed. When unpacking we found they had taken our bath towels, personal its and linens and used them as packing material. One box says it all. We opened it to find potatoes, onions and garlic loose packed with an open can of Comet and an open bottle of toilet bowl cleaner. In addition, there was silver scattered throughout and a basket full of boots which appeared to be upside down. Turns out when they made up the box that they taped the top of the box for the bottom.
Then delivered it right side up spilling everything. Don't ask what condition they left the move site. Finally the driver was told to remain with us until payment was received, even though we had paid for the days work within 2 hours of receiving the invoice even though it contained previously undisclosed charges. I could go on, but I think you may have gotten the picture, so I'll just say, I don't recommend their use.

The absolute worst moving company ever. Very Unprofessional, and a bunch of young kids. Gave us a quote of 2800 to pack and move a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath house, without coming to look at our house. WE hade to purchase the 26ft truck from Uhaul with a 500.00 deposit, because they didn't have a truck big enough to move our belongings. We also had to purchase moving supplies ($744.00) which should have been included in their quote.
When the packers came, they were 2 hours late. They were to pack everything. We were told by the packers that they do not pack bathrooms, pantry nor alcohol. This is the worse movers ever. Their moving service was very bad and just as bad customer service. I schedule Geaux movers to move me out my apartment into my house. They send me one experience mover and one that had no clue what he was doing. The experience mover had to show the other everything. This kid had no common sense so all I seen was more time being add onto the clock which is more money for them plus damages to my furniture.
They left boxes in the rain for them to get soaked, dragged my dresser on the cement so that it was chipped the bottom. Scratching my nightstands, foot and head board, put my sofa in the garage when it wasn't rain and decided to move it into the house when it was pouring down rain so my sofa was dragged on its front on the ground and in the rain so it got soaked and dirty.
My mattress was dragged in either the truck or ground so it got dirty on its side. They also charged my card right away that I used for the deposit without my authorization, I was planning to use a different card and for more then my contract amount. I complained right away to Lawrence the owner who just yelled at me and was rude. Talked to a lady named Melissa who was told to me by Lawrence that she was the owner to find out that Lawrence was the owner.
I dont understand playing games about who owns it. They told me that they was going to send me claim form which they never did. Melissa told me she was going to give me a partial refund which she never did. They just now ignore my emails so I filed a complaint with the BBB and possibly a small claims if not resolved. I know now never use a hourly moving company because they will drag it out to charge you more.

I had made an appointment with them to move some furniture. Was very excited that they called before arrival and were prompt and courteous. Spoke with them over the phone and said I had furniture that was upstairs and very heavy that would most likely need more than 2 people to move. Sent me two guys who did their best to move the furniture, but still managed to drop my dresser down the stairs, thankfully it didn't get damaged.
My rating is due to a piece of my mirror being broken and after many phone calls to get the piece ordered and I called the place I got it from to help the guys out I never received my replacement part in the mail and no follow up call was made. For a company that says they are insured they definitely dropped the ball on this, but I guess after you get paid it really doesn't matter on customer satisfaction. Don't recommend unless you're okay with not getting damaged furniture repaired.

Kendall and his team were wonderful! We moved last week from Mandeville, LA to Austin, TX (our 10th long distance move). I hired a team of 3 to load our 3bd/2ba house into 4 Relocubes. Kendall came a few days before to get an idea of what they were loading. They took care of each box, each painting, and each piece of furniture with care. They meticulously organized the cubes for delivery.
We received the cubes on Tuesday and everything looked exactly how they packed it! If I would've known beforehand, I would've hired them for the entire move! For the amount of work, carefulness, and price, you can't beat hiring Geaux Movers.

My wife and I upgraded our house this month, but since i have been working full time, getting an entire house packed and then moved was a total pain. We finally broke and called around a couple places, and these guys were fast and efficient on getting me scheduled. They sent out 2 guys, and they had all my furniture out of my house and moved across town extremely fast.
After moving stuff into the new house, my wife did wife things and asked them to move some stuff around, and without hesitation they picked up and moved anything asked. I used this service to move relatively locally, and I just wanted to say that I had an amazing experience with these guys. I was looking all around for reasonably priced movers that would cater to a little bit off-beat requests, and I couldn’t be happier that I chose Geaux Movers. The driver John was on time and super friendly, one of the more friendly movers I have come into contact with.
I very much appreciated all the joking and levity, it made a stressful time a lot less stressful. I would’ve been even more pleased if you took up my offer to get a beer, though! All of my furniture was in the same condition that it left my old place in, which is more than I can say about a lot of moving services. I asked for fragile boxes to be taken special care of, and this company was more than happy to oblige my request.
The prices were what I was hoping to pay, and I just got a friendly and caring vibe from these people. I will absolutely be recommending these guys to my friends and family, and anyone who needs to use a mover in the southeastern Louisiana area.

I loved how the movers were very professional with moving my furniture around, my furniture was expensive and the care the crews took to ensure a safe transportation of my stuff was excellent such as padding my t.v's on front and back to keep the screens safe during transportation they wrapped my dresser to keep it from being scratched and handled everything with gloves on to keep a secure grip while transporting the items from their truck to the house.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience with a good crew, everyone was very friendly which makes you feel at home while they move you. Hello, a very reliable and cheap service, the workers were very friendly and took care of the furniture as if they were their children.During transport, they have taken care of everything. Everything is well secured and the furniture will arrive safely. Time they were also very fast on the way. There was no real delay. When moving into the new apartment, they also worked very clean.
All walls have remained intact. The workers have responded to all our requests and have implemented them with the utmost certainty. I can only recommend it! and should we move again, I now know immediately which company I entrust.

Moved from Texas and had a lot of delicate and large items that needed to be moved. I called Geaux Movers and they sent a team of 3 to help wrap and box everything. They made sure every item was properly wrapped and protected from damage while moving. We had a lot of large items upstairs - computer equipment, TV, furniture. They made sure not to damage anything in the house.
Everything was handled with care and they had all the tools and supplies ready for every type of item. We also had an upright piano that needed to be moved and they handled that as well. The movers were very professional and made sure we were satisfied with how things were being packaged and moved. They worked very fast and efficiently despite being very meticulous in making sure everything was wrapped and packed properly.

Great, efficient, professional service! I had to move out of my apartment last minute and called several different companies to see who could move me the next morning. Geaux Movers immediately told me they could move me the next day with no problem. They were right on time and made sure to wrap all the furniture before they moved it to ensure nothing was damaged.
