Jay Movers

I first thought they were great. Used them before so I trusted them. BK was great over the phone. The move team was fast but after examining I had a box of important content missing. The foreman immediately said it was impossible for them to lose a box, the owner repeatedly asked me if checked my space for box. Once again BK was the only person to be compassionate and somewhat helpful.

Whenever I would call to follow up on missing box I was just asked same questions, did I check my apartment, did I check old apartment, and they walk through the truck after every move. All that doesn't explain or help me with my missing items. It had all my nursing school items, which are not cheap. No one got back to me at the end to either say they searched for the box or if they would credit me or help me out in any. Based on the lack of communication and empathy I would not recommend or use them again in the future.

Oscar M, Charlie, and Wiss were INCREDIBLE. Made a dreaded city move so easy, and BK was wonderful preparing us ahead of time. They were so careful with my furniture & super kind. Definitely the best value for your money in the city. Will never use anyone but jay movers again!

What a wonderful experience with Jay Movers! I was super nervous as this was my first time hiring movers, but what a relief it was to work with Jay movers. They were super transparent about the cost, they were happy to answer any questions I had, and when it came down to the move - the movers were so friendly, fast and efficient. All my items made it to my new home safely and boy were they quick.

Special shout out to Armando and Marcelino (my two movers) they were freaking awesome. And the manager B.K. - he was so informative and kind about the whole move - awesome team that will make moving the easiest thing ever!

I Had Jay Movers take care of a local move for a client of mine in Vernon Hills, IL. Right from the jump, the communication with BK and his team was great. Very informative and helpful when sorting through all of the logistics. Competitive pricing. On-time and efficient movers. Would definitely recommend them.

Jay Movers were INCREDIBLE. When my boyfriend and I moved our stuff ourselves into our storage locker it took 4+hours. They were done moving it out in 30 minutes. They were so fast, so efficient, so kind! When moving things into our new place it was so fast. They get paid by the hour and moved so quickly and didn't go over the time which is just so respectable seeing as how they clearly could have and would have gotten paid more.

When I went to pay, they reminded me of the $50 deposit I had already put down when I booked them (would have never remembered that myself). Everything was in perfect condition. I will recommend them to everyone I know. Domingo, Jose & Oscar, you three were amazing. THANK YOU!

Extremely efficient & friendly workers. We were amazed at how quickly they worked. We had moved all our boxes ourselves so only furniture moved. No damage to anything. Highly recommend them

These guys were great! Had them move an upright piano up one level. Easy to schedule, on time, efficient and 100% professional. Piano looks awesome in it new location. Highly recommend!

Well I'm back. Took me a few months to find an apartment but when I did Jay Movers was one of my first calls and once again they didn't disappoint. BK was there with his kind and professional self, he quoted me a price, found the earliest available time ( which was perfect for me). Jose and his crew called as promised and was there waiting for me at the storage facility.

They loaded, drove to my new place and unloaded all the while making sure things were taken care of. I swear I think they are motorized. The price that was quoted was what I paid not one cent more. I hope I don't have to move anytime soon but if I do I'm keeping Jay movers on speed dial. Thanks BK, Jose and crew you guys made my life a lot easier.

We've used Jay Movers twice now. Once when moving from one 2 bed condo to another and recently when moving into a single family home. We had so so much stuff (and some VERY heavy furniture!) and I was worried about not fitting everything in the truck or having enough people to do the move. BK was super flexible and upped our crew and our time slot the day prior to fit two trips and a crew of four instead of three.

On top of that, we couldn't find one of our moving boxes almost a week after moving in. I called and BK rounded up the move foreman to speak with me and go over where things were left in the home. Sure enough after his advice, we found the box! Right where he said it would be. With everyone going above and beyond I would definitely use them if we are ever unfortunate enough to have to move again (fingers crossed this was it for at least 30 years). TLDR: Both times the crew was incredibly professional, friendly, quick and efficient.

More than that, the crew each time has been helpful in packing and prepping those weird furniture items you don't know how to wrap up so they can travel safely between the homes. Highly recommend.

We had heard from friends that jay Movers was affordable and high quality so we decided to go with them and we're not disappointed. The moving team showed up on time and I couldn't believe how quick they were. We got everything moved very fast without any issues. Our experience with the office was great too, BK was very helpful even when I had messed up some of the information when I first filled it out online.

This is not a good company to do business with they will damage your property and will not want to give you a proper refund just horrible

I received a quote very quickly and it was significantly lower than the other quotes I received. This moving team was amazing! They took care of my things and quickly packed up and unpacked. I didn't have to pay a dollar over my quote! Thanks for making my moving experience less stressful!

This is the 5th time my extended family has used Jay Movers over the last 10 years. I'm happy to say their quality and pricing has still matched what we remember! BK (the office manager) was so helpful in scheduling and offering advice about the move. The three guys who came to move my MIL were also so friendly and fast! Everything went smoothly, and we came in under the original estimate. Moving is always stressful, but Jay Movers makes it much better!

These guys were great. "BK" who works in the office was quick with a quote. The price was fair. And the movers worked their tails off. Super nice crew. We've used them twice each time with great results.

Let's keep this short. -During a move within the same building, the crew left before everything was moved. -Approximately 25% of the items they did move weren't put in the requested location. -They left garbage in the hallway. -When speaking to the owner to discuss reimbursement, he was belligerent and insulting. -After a 20-minute conversation, he agreed to a partial refund. -The refund never came. Avoid.

I spoke to another company that quoted me at $600+ for our local move, and they weren't really willing to budge on it. When I called Jay Movers, the office manager, BK Lewis, was extremely helpful and friendly, he was able to adjust the expenses of the move to fit our budget, and he kept the lines of communication open for any questions and needs leading up to the move.

The movers were fantastic guys and got the move done in just a couple hours, and in the end the cost came out to less than BK had quoted us! Extremely positive experience, would definitely recommend them to anyone who's moving in the Chicago area.

Thanks to BK and the crew for moving an entire 2br apartment in 3 hours! BK was very helpful, responsive and courteous over the phone and the crew were communicative and fast. Really reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and hopefully we don't have to move any time soon but if we do we'll be using them again!

I recently coordinated a move on behalf of a friend, from 700 miles away. They were moving a lifetime of items from a condo to a storage unit. I spoke with B.K. Lewis in coordinating, and he was so incredibly helpful, both before and after the move. As someone who like to be in control, this was an anxious situation for me, but I could not have been more pleased.

My friend's reaction was "It was an enormous task and they did a fantastic job!" I don't have too many friends in the Chicago area to refer to them, but would definitely recommend Jay Movers to anyone that asked.

Used Jay Movers for the second time this month. Easy, efficient, and sticks to their quote price. BK at the office was very helpful and punctual. Armando, Marcelino, and Sam were all super friendly and worked fast and safely. Would highly recommend!

First time ever needing movers to assist with our 2bd apartment move from Wrigley to Roscoe and time practically flew by. Their team is incredibly diligent and were able to load up and move a truck's worth of furniture in 3 hours. Would 100% recommend you prep your own packing and disassembling ahead of time as it makes for a more effective and timely Move Day! **EDIT** We are finding that a couple pieces of wrapped furniture have been noticeably damaged from the move (see photo- one leg of our record stand has been completely stripped and screws were missing/loose) so BE MINDFUL to remove and feet/base pegs/etc prior to moving or risk damaged parts.

Starting with the rating because you my not want to read my entire review.it's 10! 5 isn't high enough. The booking was seamless. BK our consultant, communicated all of the details we needed for the move( price, policy and approximate arrive time). He was professional and extremely courteous. The movers were there at the top of the hour, within the time frame given to me.

And the moving team.oh they were spectacular! Shout out to Jose Martinez, team leader! He made sure everything was moved efficiently, with care and without a scratch. You must use Jay Movers if you need a headache free, anxiety free move by a company that doesn't play games, respects your time and most of all won't damage your property!

The more time that goes by, the more things I find that were damaged in my move. They scratched the wood floor of my new apartment on move-in day, which I saw at the time; it wasn't until they'd left that I've slowly realized that they several of my glass dishes were chipped or broken (yeah, I guess I could have packed better, but also - it wasn't packed that poorly.

They must have been TOSSING stuff around in the truck. They also scratched my wooden tabletop, the side of a wooden china cabinet, and damaged a leg of my coffee table. Who knows what I'll find next. The office manager was polite and great over the phone ahead of my move; once it was moving day, suddenly the tone was completely different. Due to the snow we got in February, they also requested (basically told me) that I adjust my move date.

While I get that they can't control the weather, they also offered no compensation for the fact that I suddenly would have additional out-of-pocket expenses for not being out of my old place by the 1st of the month, not to mention the food costs of suddenly not being able to cook for several extra days PLUS then needing to take time off work to move on a weekday instead of a weekend.

While there were some boxes that still needed to be taped up when they arrived (I'd been told that this was no problem, and that they'd have tape), they also didn't like how I'd packed (in small boxes, because a disability means I can't carry heavy ones). So then they acted all aggrieved that I "wasn't packed" and proceeded to put my small boxes into larger boxes.

They then had the audacity to say that I'd overpacked and made boxes too heavy. EXCUSE ME, I MOST CERTAINLY DID NOT. The movers themselves were nice, but I left the whole experience incredibly unhappy, and as I keep finding more and more damage, I get angrier and angrier that I tipped them so well. I used Jay's based on good reviews from other folks, so hopefully with this review I can save someone else frustration, property damage, and money.

I've moved quite a bit and have had varying moving experiences with several moving companies and I'm happy to say, if I have to ever move again, I won't hesitate to call Jay movers again. They were on time, courteous, professional and did not slack at all, they are well priced and do an awesome job. Also when you call, you feel lucky to chat with BK who makes the entire experience easy from start to finish. Highly recommend!

This was the easiest move I have ever done. Jay Movers were the cheapest quote I received for my 1-bedroom move. BK provided amazing customer service over the phone to make sure I was ready for moving day and that they were aware of any special needs I had. They allowed me to pre-pay over the phone ahead of time to make moving day even easier. The team of 3 movers showed up on time with masks on.

They were incredibly professional. They wrapped all of the furniture super well. I had 0 damage in the whole move! They were friendly and efficient, total move time was 2 hours from arrival to totally unpacked in the new spot. Thank you Jay Movers for your excellent service and competitive rates!

Simple, efficient, a relief! After comparison with another mover, we chose Jay for price and simplicity of estimate. The destination for the move was smaller and freshly painted so I was nervous about how well it would go. After explaining the three locations I wanted items to be put in (2nd floor, first floor and basement, the crew (Jose M, Oscar, Miguel, Sam) speedily got to work.

They estimated 5+ hours but with our preparation ahead of time (disassembling furniture, wrapping in cellophane we already had, and rearranging boxes and furniture by destination location - I mentioned being nervous right?) we did the whole move in 3.5 hours. On-site at the destination, it was super straight forward: just a bit of supervision for some outlier items I wanted in special places.

All said, very happy and relieved it's done so fast. Also I appreciated the call from BK in the office asking how the move went. Means a lot to have the personal touch. We witnessed this same crew move another household and did a stellar job (including a piano). Definitely will continue to recommend Jay.

I HIGHLY recommend Jay Movers for MANY reasons! 1. BK The Office Manager - when I called to request an estimate I was shoping around for different movers. BK was extremely polite and professional. He answered all of my questions and gave me a list of questions I should be asking any other moving companies I was interested in. Instead, I decided to book with this company immediately due to BK's customer service. 2.

Safety - Moving us into our home mid-pandemic, the team was very professional, they were on time and made sure to wear their protective face masks and maintain a safe distance. They were quick, careful and very kind. 3. Skill - We had to move a piano down a narrow flight of winding stairs. This is as awful as it sounds, but the crew did an amazing job without leaving a single scratch on the piano or the walls. 4.

Speed - Im still amazed at how quickly they moved us. Our original estimate was for 5-7 hours and they completed the entire move (with two pickup stops) in 4.5 hours. BK called us back immediately the following week to issue a refund for the unused time.

Amazing job by Armando, Miguel, Alfred and Roman. Showed up on time and ready to go. Everything was packed neatly, gently and effeciently. Not a single scuff on the wall or any piece of furniture. Everything was reassembled properly. They found our new place effortlessly and had everything inside in no time. Great team!

Can't thank Jay Movers enough. Professional office staff, gave us a good estimate and booked us on short notice. And Jose and his two man crew were absolutely awesome. Courteous, friendly, professional and man did they bust their humps! Nonstop from start to finish, nothing damaged, and they were going so fast I even gave them extra items I had planned on doing myself and still came in under the estimate. Thanks again!

First time around in 2016 these guys were great. I cannot say the same for 2017. I had 4 guys in 2016 and they were great! I was told by one of the employees on the team that back then they had young new guys. This time around they were slow but only had three guys. The team leader took his time and went to 7-11 to snack. When you have only three. guys time is of the essence.

To top that, they busted a TV stand and I was told by management to take pictures to claim it. The team leader took the TV stand before I could take the pictures. I believe to hide the fact that they busted the TV stand. I will probably never use this service again. Beware. I will be filing a Police report plus reporting them to the BB.

This was the worst possible experience. I had one antique bedroom set to be moved, which should have been a simple job for the 2.5 hour minimum I was being charged, not only did they completely damage my piece ruining the value, they told me I was liable for it. After several emails regarding the issue, Jay, stopped responding to me. If you are looking to pay someone to break your property, go with Jay Movers, otherwise avoid the headache and use a different company!

Jay Movers is great company. The guys work very hard. They move very quickly and carefully. I would love to recommend you all that when you move out or in just ask the service from Jay Movers.
