We had an excellent experience with Sullivan who moved us coast to coast. Kate provided outstanding support for the estimate and even provided tips on packing and suggestions on what to ship or sell. Tanny provided regular updates throughout the process. The loading and unloading crews worked efficiently and were very courteous and clean. Everything arrived without any breakage. Job Well Done

We moved across country and had Sullivan come out to give us an estimate. After they came, we gave away all our pool furniture, large faux plants, other items that would have taken up a large amount of space on the moving truck. Even after we downsized, their estimation was so far off, it took two separate crews and trucks to come box up our things for a separate freight shipment.
We were told to label the already packed boxes as "priority" if we needed them on the actual truck. We did so based off what the packers had labeled - which was a mistake on our part. We should have opened the boxes as we ended up with a box labeled "coffee maker" with an ice-cream maker in it, art supplies in a box labeled "toiletries", etc. I spoke to the original estimator who assured me they would meet their contractual delivery deadline of May 24. It's now the 31st and our shipment has been pushed twice - once to June 3rd and now to June 6th, nearly a month after we've moved.
Be sure your things fit on one truck, do not agree to separate shipments, press the estimator to be accurate. Shipment finally arrived on 6/6. Nearly every single piece of furniture in this shipment was damaged in transport. Our patio furniture was chipped down to the metal, painted furniture rubbed down to the wood, legs of furniture splintered and scratched, holes in upholstered chairs. it was not properly wrapped and not properly transported. The lesson here is do not allow your things to be shipped by freight, overestimate the estimator and be prepared for damage.

I have moved 3 times in the last 5 years, and this was the best moving experience I have ever had. Everyone was helpful, knowledgeable, and understanding, knowing that moving is very stressful on the customer. Connie my move coordinator was fantastic, she checked in with me at every step from packing, to loading, and then delivery. The packing team took extra care of the items that were most important to me, and for the first time in 3 moves, nothing was broken.
The driver made the coast-to-coast trip in the shortest time out of any previous move and loaded & unloaded with complete professionalism. I can't say enough good things about this team and this experience. If I ever move again, it will surely be with Sullivan United!

We hired Sullivan to move our household goods from San Diego to Spring, Tx. The people all seemed very nice at first. Then after almost everything was packed and the crew had left after the first day, I noticed a couple of expensive jewelry items missing. Well, earlier in the day one of their packers asked me about the value of my Rolex watches he saw on a watch winder.
I told him that wasn't very professional, but that didn't stop the questions. He then asked "is it true that you can buy a car for the same price as one of those watches?". I again told him to please just concentrate on his job. It was after they left that day that I discovered a ring and a bracelet missing from my closet. I immediately called Sullivan and told them about the missing items.
They promised they would look into it. On the next morning as they came to finish up, the only person that didn't show up was that young man that kept asking questions about the watches. Sullivan l told me they would get back to me. Six months later (after a few calls from me) they finally told me that they checked with their crew and nobody knew anything (imagine that).
I asked what did they do to "check it out" and was told that all of their employees were checked for criminal records before they hired them. All I can say is don't use these folks, they are not a good company to deal with.

We recently used Sullivan Moving & Storage for a local San Diego move. We had 3700 square feet of furniture, 4 closets full of clothes and a few priceless family pieces that we were nervous to move. Not to mention a huge trampoline, bunk bed and some other large and awkward pieces. This team was incredible! The gentleman showed up on time, with great attitudes and were so kind.
They were fantastic about communicating with us prior to the move during the moving process and after. We felt very well taken care of during the pick of of our things and drop off at the new house. They were patient while we decided where things would go, and the packers were incredible that packed our closets. They even wrapped my newly painted banister so it would not get damaged as they carried furniture upstairs. I can't say enough great things about this company and all the people we worked with at Sullivan. I would highly recommend them without any hesitation for your next move!

They put my most expensive things in a couple of boxes, even though I repeatedly asked them not to. I overheard them talking about stealing some of my things, and when I confronted them, they didn't care. I also overheard them stating that they could steal from me because I probably didn't have pictures of everything, and since I was going to be putting everything into storage for awhile, I wouldn't know if anything was missing.
I wanted to fire them, but I was in a bad situation and needed to get moved out immediately. Those boxes did go missing, and the things that they talked about taking were missing as well. Do not use these people. Also, they used an excessive amount of tissue to pack things, so there were a lot more boxes than there needed to be which cost me more money.

From the first meeting with my salesperson, Kate, through the very last box being removed from our house, I could not have had a better experience. Kate walked me through every aspect of our pack, storage and move with professionalism and kindness. She helped keep my stress level down and made this very nerve-racking experience manageable. Bobby and his crew came and packed up our 5 bedroom house in two days, taking special care with many items and keeping us laughing.
On move day, 5 very professional movers cleared out our house in one day, putting in extra time and effort to make everything run smoothly. I cannot recommend Sullivan Moving and Storage enough. I have several friends, real estate agents, and designers in the Rancho Santa Fe, CA that recommend Sullivan movers to their clients. Also, several years ago I moved from one home in RSF to another that I sold in August 2021. I decided to take their advise and use Sullivan United again. Dave was very helpful organizing our complex move. The packers and movers were professional.
I have spent over $35,000 so far on our move. I did receive part of our shipment. The second part of our shipment has been delayed at least a week. They have our beds, our business computers, desk files, coffee makers, clothes, dishes pots, towels. I have spent hours on the phone trying to come up with a reasonable fair solution. I spoke with Steve asking about Sullivans "Errors and Omissions".
Not sure of when we will be receiving our furniture etc.shipment. We booked the freight elevator in advance at our Condo Unit. We are trying to reschedule the elevator to Sullivans schedule rather than what the high rise Condos has available. They offered $100 dollars a day for compensation for living expenses. Also, they broke the leg of my prized antique 18th c.
French chest. They totally overbooked themselves and used "The Mass Exodus out of California" as their excuse for the delay. I certainly would expect, such a well established company, to be more accommodating as well as concerned for the well being of there customers.

I highly recommend Sullivan Moving and Storage! Everyone with whom we worked during this process was very professional, responsible, and responsive. Troy, our estimator, explained the moving process with such expertise and clarity, we decided to go with Sullivan (after interviewing many, many other moving companies). And a special thank you to Lisa, who was our contact throughout the whole process, from scheduling the move, arranging storage, and finally get out furniture moved into our new house.
She always responded to every question, email, etc, within hours, and she followed up after each step of the move with a call to make sure everything had gone well. She was definitely the mother hen, and we were her chicks, for the last 3 months. Definitely go with this company if you want honest, dependable and competent movers.

You can find better but you can't pay more! A truly miserable, and outrageously expensive moving experience. I would rather burn my stuff to the ground than use these guys again. We connected the local company and its corporate arm repeatedly about the myriad issues with our move. We furnished them with ample, verifiable information detailing their errors and omissions. In response, we were told in perfect corporate speak how they did absolutely nothing wrong and our problems were imaginary.

My husband spoke with Connie and scheduled the Sullivan Moving & Storage to come move our belongings while he was out of town. I was apprehensive about having strangers in my home without my husband, but DeShaun and Andrew put me right at ease. Their professional dress and demeanor was excellent. They moved my entire apartment downstairs, outside and into the truck WHILE it was raining hard.
They never once showed a sign of frustration and kept a friendly attitude even being soaked. They came in, got the job done and left me feeling that my belongings were handled with care. Great job! I'm heading from San Diego to Indiana and hope to give a similar review when I make it to my new home! 5 Stars so Far!

Sullivan are the consummate professionals in moving and storage. Their crews are friendly, experienced, safe (daily Covid testing), and careful. We used their cell phone enabled app for initial survey and estimate. Extremely seasoned professionals involved. Their bid was very reasonable given the size of our home, our need for temporary storage and then delivery to a difficult semi rural site in Escondido.
The crew came, packed all of our things in the wink of an eye, then returned to load everything into wooden "vaults" which could be whisked off to storage and then delivered to our new home. Delivery was amazingly smooth, the drivers negotiating difficult, narrow and steep roads. The crew was again extremely friendly, courteous and quick. Some of the same men delivered as had packed and picked up. Almost like family. I highly recommend this firm for its teamwork, skill, professionalism and very reasonable cost.

We had the best experience with Sullivan moving. Kate was our consultant and was right on her estimate! Lisa was the scheduler and we had constant contact and follow up, very impressive. Our crew arrived the day of move at 800 am and completed the move at 1:30 5 hours for 160 boxes and a 2700 sq ft house. Carlos was the main guy and Todd and their crew worked diligently and fast we had a great experience we recommend this company highly

I understand we're in a pandemic and businesses are doing their best but I'm not sure if this falls under that category. We recently Moved from San Diego to North Carolina, movers showed up very professional and kind, one would think everything would go smoothly but that was further from the truth. First our shipment was late, no big deal but no one ever contacted us to say why it was late or where it was, it was like pulling teeth to get information on where our house hold good we're, after being told 3 different stories we finally got our shipment 12 days late.
We received only part of our shipment, and when asked where the rest was, we were told to file a claim. pictures can't be replaced and memories can't be either. I understand things happens but it seems that no one cared enough.

Absolutely terrible service! Moved from San Diego to Denver between May and July 2019. Sullivan movers packed an electric mower that I specifically said was to stay at my property in San Diego for the new owners. Then they set a piece of heavy furniture or on top of my brand new $900 Samsung dryer and crushed the lid while it was either in their warehouse in San Diego or when they transferred it to the interstate moving van.
Of course the movers stuck it in the garage at the new house in Denver and didn't tell me it was damaged. The driver, who was supposed to be tracking and checking off items taken off the truck, kept sending items from someone else's shipment - with different colored lot stickers - into my house. I thought I'd caught everything and turned them around, but they drove off and left several shelves from someone else's shipment in my house.
The process to get the United corporate office or any of their local contractors in or near Denver to come back and get the damn shelves and get them to the proper owner was impossible! I called Sullivan twice, who claimed they forwarded the message to corporate. After several weeks of hearing nothing I called the corporate office and talked to Lisa and she assured me someone would come out. Nope.called again."isn't United concerned about returning these items to the owner?" Well, the owner hasn't filed a claim.
Long story short, 45 days later, United has not picked up these items and returned them to the rightful owner. Folks, these people have no concern in getting your personal belongings to you in good condition, they are oblivious to the concepts of accountability, reliability and customer service, and I do not recommend contracting with them or any other United/Mayflower (they are affiliated now), company, the corporate philosophy is screw the customer. Three words - Piss poor performance.

I was in a really bad situation when another local company told me that I would have to get rid of my couch because they could not fit it in through any of the doorways. I freaked and called Sullivan Moving and Storage and Lindsay Reid immediately found me four of her movers to HOIST the couch from one level to the next and Done in a very short period of time.
I am very grateful because to have to purchase a new couch was not even an option for me! Why the other company did not think of that. hmmmm We are grateful to Lindsay and the four gentleman.one was named Jose. :

I moved some items from Fullerton to my new condo in Rosarito Beach, the movers, Fernando and his helper were on time and so very professional. Not only did they pack the truck, they were able to clear customs and deliver my items Friday night instead of Saturday. Thanks to the whole team, my Mexico move was painless. They Rock!

Used them to move to San Diego a year ago. Multiple expensive items missing, either stolen or broken. They made hardly an effort to look into this and were not compensated for the loss. How can a moving company lose a gigantic arc lamp and a 50lbs crystal rock, not to mention other pieces of furniture etc. DO NOT USE THEM. You will regret it! We give them a chance and they did nothing to fix the problem.

All of my favorite dresses are missing as well! I'm wondering if you guys decided to take all the stuff you guys liked? Or delivered them to the wrong house?! We used Sullivan Moving and Storage to move our daughters from her apartment across from USD to a new apartment in Del Mar. Our experience was first class from the beginning when Lindsay, our moving coordinator, gave us a firm estimate up front based on pictures of the items to be moved, along with an arrival time commitment. Josh and his crew showed up right on time, worked quickly, carefully, politely and efficiently to load all the furniture and boxes into the truck for the move across town.
They used carpet runners and pads around the apartment to protect both locations from accidental bumps. Unloading when just as efficiently, including setup of the items that had to be disassembled. Overall, the experience could not have been any better. Moving is never fun, but these guys made it easy for us. Thanks for a great job. We are customers for life.

I am moving from San Diego to Chicago. While the idea of moving across the country sounds stressful, Sullivan made the experience totally painless! Ricky, Matthew, and Danny made quick (90 minutes!) work of all my furniture, handled my stuff with care, and were highly personable. I was blown away by their efficiency and good humor. Thanks, guys!

Instead of parking in the street next to their customer's apartment, they decided to pull into the fire lane, blocking my garage and blocking me in. Mind you, had they parked at the end of the building and not blocked my garage, they would only be a mere 20 feet away from the home where they were unpacking. Completely disrespectful and LAZY. After they were alerted that they were blocking my entry and exit to my garage they just pulled right back in and blocked my garage driveway again.
Your drivers have a poor attitude and were extremely rude. Where do you get off completely blocking someone else's entry and exit to their home with no disregard? If your drivers can't be considerate and walk 20 feet to and from their truck to the home they are unpacking in order to not block other people's garage entry, then perhaps you should consider getting new employees.

Let's just start with, if it hadn't been a government move I would never have dealt with this company. My daughter walked down the hallway of our house while these movers were packing up and one mover said to the other "I'm not fucking babysitting". Then he started calling for me, and when I appeared asked me "if I was ok?" As if illness or injury could be the only reason I'd let my kid roam down a familiar hallway that led to where her room used to be.
They were astonished that we wanted them to transport our motorcycle, which was accurately and repeatedly mentioned on every manifest they had. They didn't fit it in the truck. We don't have a lot of stuff, and constantly are very far below our max weight allowance, even with a 750lbs motorcycle included. They crammed our belongings so tightly into that truck, I saw the box carrying our TV bow.
And they still didn't get it all to fit. Very very disappointed. I know they make a good paycheck from the government serving military families, but between the rude workers swearing in front of my two year old and the inadequate room and preparation, I will never recommend his service.
