In the early 1950s Thomas Anderson Transportation Corporation had a contract to haul milk from the Fairbanks Matanuska Dairy to military bases at Fort Wainwright, Eielson and Fort Greeley Alaska. Denali Transportation purchased the company in 1954. The company was committed to providing a superior transportation service at a time in Alaska when there was little infrastructure and a harsh, unforgiving environment. At that time, people depended on their own resourcefulness and innovation to provide reliable transportation of goods.

This is not a company I would ever go with again. Besides some of our things coming up missing, almost everything was damaged . Literally all of our things were damaged.

I have moved with the Army multiple times. And this last move with Denali Group was my best by far! My wife was a nervous wreck because we have had some bad experiences. But this time it was a breeze! They were professional and friendly.

Denali has performed moving services for my last four moves. Each time the crews were patient with my requests. They took precautions to pack and secure all my items and made my moves less stressful. Great customer service from my initial request through the completion of my most recent move in October. Thanks Denali!

This is a company with no moral upholding or ethics. From the start, it's been nothing but problems. They told us our stuff would arrive at our door on one date (this information is in writing) only for it to arrive 11 days later. They also never contacted us about the date change, we reached out to them; it was the only way we found out about the change, otherwise, we would have been waiting for the movers to arrive on the scheduled date.

Upon the walk-thru of my home, before packing, I was asked about any specifications for my belongings. I explained that my son had special needs and told them that it was important that the date they gave me for my delivery was correct so I could adequately plan for his lively-hood without his belongings-- I was assured it was correct. It was not.

There was absolutely no explanation for their dishonesty and no effort to make it right. The lack of ethics this company has when dealing with not only a family with special needs, but also military family is abismal. Go elsewhere or move yourself if you're military. Then there was a bunch of little things that were just disorganized and unprofessional: they asked me to give them contact information that I had already given to them when I scheduled my move, obviously they lost it. They didn't call and tell me about the schedule change, I had to call them.

Trust me- don't use these guys. Without going into detail, they will destroy your belongings, charge you while "storing" your destroyed belongings and then offer you 30cents per pound as "replacement" value. It's not worth the hassle- there's a reason the military quit using them as preferred.

I am a military member of 24 years. By far the best moving experience my family has ever had. I wish all my other moves went this well. After my move, I did some research on them and didn't realize how much they support the military and their families. I was at a military function and mentioned how great the move was and just about every one at my table had nothing but great things to say. They obviously move quite a bit of military soldiers in and out of AK.

This company is horrendous! They have 0 ratings that are over 2 stars. How do they even exist? We are currently STILL in the process of our military move because of the horrible scheduling and service of these people. These people were in charge of having our house hold goods shipped across country scheduling our delivery and contacting us along the way.

They called us approximately 2 times after sitting on the phone either on hold or being connected to another person who "would be able to better assist us". They could never tell us where our things were and we're not able to schedule a delivery time on our scheduled delivery date for reasons we could never resolve. They would tell us they would give a call back and never would.

I swear we would waste about 5 hours of our day waiting our time on hold or waiting for a call for four days straight. A day AFTER our scheduled delivery date they set up a time to have our household goods delivered which would have been 2.5 WEEKS AFTER OUR SCHEDULED DELIVERY DATE! But after telling them my husband had important gear that he needed they suddenly were able to schedule a time for the next day!

We had no choice in using this company these people are partnered with our military to support military moves. A military move is difficult as is and these people do a seriously poor job at helping. It's sad! Their resolution to our problem? A customer inconvenience claim. which we have no idea what it will actually do for us other than pay us back i for a few necessities that it vaguely lists. how do we know that the things we buy will be covered?

It doesn't say. And when would we be reimbursed? IT DOESNT SAY! Looks like another way to screw us over if you ask me! Oh and last but NOT least our scheduled delivery time frame was a load of bull! No one showed to deliver our things or even gave us a call on the day of our delivery! It's a complete NIGHTMARE! No apologies or empathy from these people just a bunch of rude people working along with a scam of a company!

I have moved with this company twice. Once down to WA and than once back to AK. They are by far the best movers to and from AK. Not one thing was broken and I had a lot of stuff. In fact, they might have over protected a lot of things.

Horrible for military move. A bunch of our stuff was mislabeled and put in different boxes. For example kids toys in kitchen boxes and clothes with kids toys. It has been two months and we still cannot find our kitchen trash can. Would not recommend because they also packed chemicals and pesticides which ruined a bunch of our personal Goods

Avoid them if you are military and moving from Alaska to anywhere. They didn't properly pack our stuff and a lot of my daughters toys and crafts went missing or were damaged because of it. They also damaged a lot of our electronics because they left things plugged into their ports and then wrapped around the units. Our vacuum cleaner and a few other things were also damaged.

The movers themselves were nice and I figured they knew what they were doing. Guess not. If you get stuck with them and can't change them, make sure you babysit them. Otherwise you may end up at your new place with missing or broken belongings. Never again.
