I came in to mail a box and was treated rudely. I filed out their form and then had to come back in to ask them how I would get the FedEx tracking number. They had forgotten to take my email address. And again the person was quite rude and unhelpful. I'll just go straight to FedEx or Walgreens next time

These guys are great! I had used another mail receiving facility before, but switched because of untrained student staff and poor service. Pak Mail run by Gil Karpel and crew is great. The same employees have been there for years, no mistakes are made and they know who I am every time I walk through the door. They are so good that when I moved away from Boulder to two homes in different states I chose to continue receiving my mail at Pak Mail Boulder. They sort through and forward the most relevant mail to me at regular intervals. That's exceptional service! Highly recommended.

The manager was very knowledgeable about international shipping and helped me to get a package through customs easily. Earlier in the year I had many problems with getting packages sent through customs when i attempted to use FedEx and they could never really tell me why those packages were getting held (one was returned before I ever had a chance to respond and they charged me for the return trip, over $1,000 for no service rendered!).
The staff at Pak Mail was able to tell me why my packages were held and returned after I explained the situation at FedEx (something no employee at FedEx was able to explain, not even when i called the international department). Also, it cost me hundreds less than FedEx, which essentially gave me no customer service at all! I will always go to Pak Mail from now on, even if they end up using FedEx because they actually know what they are doing!

I've used Pak Mail for years, and I've always had excellent, friendly service. I had a mail box for some time, and I loved the fact that I could access it even during off-hours. Most times I pack my own boxes for shipping, but when items have been too cumbersome, I knew I could drop them off and knew they'd safely packed and shipped. I couldn't ask for a more convenient location with easy parking too. I highly recommend Pak Mail for all your shipping needs.

I would recommend Pak Mail to EVERYONE! I ship thousands of parcels daily with my work, and was beyond impressed with Pak Mails customer service and care. The owner Gill is a GEM! He was so helpful to our family and friends when needing to move our daughter out of the dorm in a rush. He went above and beyond and showed the true definition of caring in today's environment! So much better than the UPS Store who failed to show the same service. I would give Gill and his staff 10 stars if I could.

The Pak Mail Boulder store near McGuckin's is the only mailing service I use. Why? Because they're locally owned and they've successfully sent many glass-framed paintings for me. Nothing has ever been lost or broken, and that's over decades of being a customer. They know me, and I love going over there! They're the best.

Super friendly and efficient staff and services at Pak Mail are awesome! Shipping a variety of stuff (even larger items) out in a 'college student-driven town' is their specialty and they will not disappoint! They also will receive packages, notify the recipient, and keep them safely until picked up-we utilized this service a lot for college care packages that would not fit in tiny apartment mailboxes. I highly recommend!

Had last minute enlargements for a funeral and some items we had to ship back home. Pak Mail staff helped us get the enlargements right, adjusting color and cropping to make everything perfect. The shipping was a breeze too. They showed us the best value for the packages we sent, helped with getting the right packing, and everything arrived safely. I would use them again next time I am in Boulder.

If I could give zero stars I would. First of all, if you care about the environment at all, even just a little bit, you will stay away from this place. My mother mailed me some dishes and glasses using this place. Not only did they charge almost $1,000 DOLLARS to do this, but I was left with 9 giant black trash bags of peanuts and 6 giant black trash bags of bubble wrap and tape (lots of tape all around the bubble wrap so very hard to reuse most of it).
I was able to give the peanuts to a local shipper (I live in VA) in hope that all that awful stryrofoam won't end up in our waterways immediately but I had no other option but to put most of the rest in the trash. I talked to the owner and he mansplained in circles until he wore himself out and hung up. It took him 3-4 hours to create these two boxes of environmental and wallet killing horror but he only charged $85 for his labor so.it was also a GIANT ripoff.
I mean, just try to do the actual math on that it means he charged us around $500 in packing materials. My mom is older and I said I feel he took advantage of her and he said he knows lots of "old people, " his mother is old, and he would never rip off an "old lady." Um, she's in her early 70's, she's not an "old lady." So, let's add ageism to the pile of DO NOT USE THIS PAK MAIL reasons. I'm sure he will respond with more mansplaining, if he knows what that is (I'll help him: it's when a man explains things to a woman in a very condescending manner, assuming she doesn't understand anything). Oh, I understand.
I understand you overcharged us by at least $500. I understand you blamed an "old lady" (my mom) for any and all of your "reasons" aka excuses for charging us almost ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS to mail two boxes. I understand that she asked you not to use peanuts but you did it anyway because you know better than old women and probably women in general. Hmmmm, should we add sexism? Yes! Let's do that! Caveat emptor people (he would explain that is Latin for let the buyer beware because he assumes you don't know). So, this know-it-all overcharging environmental nightmare of a person that is agest and sexist is going to probably also tell you how long he has been doing this ("shipping" aka killing the environment, ripping people off, etc.) because he told me at least 30 times. Does that change anything that happened? Does that make any of this ok? No! It's another excuse and he is good at those. It's like when my kid got paint all over the deck and tried to explain it away. No, you got paint all over the deck, I don't care why, you now get to learn how to strip and stain a deck.
The difference is, my kid made it right, this guy just hung up on me. He had ZERO interest in making it right. Oh, he said he would give my mom a discount on future shipping. I had to laugh. I mean, why on earth would she ship with him again? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame in me, or, in this case, an "old lady." I'll get back to Boulder one of these days and stage a peaceful protest. I'll keep you all posted.
In the meantime, please do what you can to help me in my quest to stand up against the environmental horror and price gouging to the extreme that is this THIS Pak Mail (they aren't all like this).

One word: terrible. The inside is shabby and dirty in appearance. In a normal business, it's common courtesy to greet your customers when they walk in. Instead, at this company they just stare at customers with their hands folded across their chest. It has a creepy, unfriendly vibe and the personnel always appear angry, hung over, and are ALWAYS rude.
I had ordered some special gifts for a relative and paid extra to receive them before Christmas. My tracking information showed both packages had been delivered but I only had a notification slip for one of them in my box. It is customary for them to be very late in processing mail and packages, as they are lazy and disorganized routinely, with packages and mail stacked up for hours that blocks patrons mail boxes.
The clerk looked at me with a blank stare and claimed he " didn't have nothing " for me. I then showed him confirmation by the carrier that it had been delivered with all tracking info and exact time of delivery. He then began arguing with me telling me that " tracking information" is never reliable which is absolute non sense with regard to information that confirms delivery.
It was even signed for by either he or the other clerk there. I asked him if he could actually check and he leaned back against the counter and began eating a lunch, slowly peeling oranges. After a half hour waiting and trying to find out anything further with the carrier, another employee finally found it. No apology, but rather, they acted like it was somehow my fault.
Very very rude. In general, they are dressed unprofessionally, having inappropriate conversations during business hours, slow, rude, and incredibly lazy. I pay for the services I have to cajole them to perform. It appears these middle aged guys have no education, skill or trade and it was either this job or try to stay on welfare. The owner simply doesn't care and their behavior mirrors him.
This is a company you can use as a poster child for how to not run a business. The prices are high and they can't even make up for that with a smile or thank you. Disgusting people. Rude, incompetent and unfriendly.

I buy supplies here all the time to do my own shipping. They have the best prices and selection I have found for bubble wrap and boxes. They also take in used "peanuts" for reuse/recycle. Sometimes I get them in shipments to me but don't like to keep or use them myself, so I bring them here. I have used the store to pack and ship a few specialty items like skis and they have done it well. They are nice people.

I'd never though I'd ever write a review on Yelp. If anyone deserves a positive write-up, it's these guys. I love this place. Everyone who has helped me here has been super helpful, friendly, and professional. The place is charmingly dated. They don't even have any computers up front, which, at first, had me a little apprehensive, but, lo and behold, my packages always ended up making it where they had to.
Why am I taking the time to write this? The other day I went in there and had to ship something to Canada, and the contents of my package wouldn't fit in their smaller mailer, but only in a larger box. The large box was about $50 more to ship (mailing stuff is f****** expensive). Instead of telling me I had no other options, they jimmy-rigged two smaller mailers to fit around my package, saving me at least $50, and a lot of trouble. If you're going to shipping something in boulder, do yourself a favor and go with these guys.

In my years in Boulder I have never had anything other than a superior experience at Pak Mail. My most recent shipment involved packages to my elderly father's house in Texas. The package was repacked by Pak mail to save me dollars (one pkg instead of two) and the driver mistakenly delivered it next door. When it didn't arrive, the owner of Pak Mail (on a horrendously busy day at his shop) personally tracked the package down, found it and advised me of such.
My Dad retrieved the package the same day. Outstanding customer service every time. The staff is equally accommodating. I drive across town to use this shipping company only.
