A lot has changed since we showed up on the scene in 1978 and were awarded Florida's 23rd moving license in the history of the state. Jimmy Carter was the President. Rents were $600 for two bedrooms and Co-op was just becoming a fashionable word. People needed to be moved, so we obliged. 41 years later, our region has gotten bigger and better and Discount Movers has grown along with it.
I just wanted to take the time to tell your management how smooth and pleasant of an experience working with your moving company, and it's employees, was during our transition. The two gentlemen you sent to us today were courteous, expedient, careful and jovial. I could think of a lot more descriptive, but I'd have to say those will do.

Memphiz101, Discount Moving including Jay, are very hard workers, and very respectful. They've moved me over three times, they also charged me a long walk but it was over a 300ft. walk. I appreciate them and their hard work, they were worth every penny. We must respect hard workers, we also gave them a great tip. Great company. Chow! Twelve years ago, I had a traumatic experience with this company but I was not on social media to warn others. My first husband and I had an organ and a piano to move to St Petersburg, Fl and smaller apartment items and we were assured that they would do the job carefully. Two tired, cranky men greeting us by refusing to move the piano and the organ upstairs.
They finally moved the organ without blankets and chipped it. The rain started falling and they said that would take our items to their warehouse. It was a nightmare getting our items back and when we tried to discuss our options one of the men told me, the customer, that I was crazy. The warehouse we had to go to was filled with many customers items and it was a nightmare getting them to release our stuff.
We spent $200 dollars on the first hour of the move and had tried desperately to cut them loose before they decided to putter around and they exhibited symptoms of hangover and smelled bad.

Contact the BBB before you use this company. Never again. The worst movers ever. Damaged a lot of my furniture and gave sarcastic remarks and don't care attitude. I referred these movers to another person prior to my move and they said the same thing and did damage to that person's furniture. They don't belong in the business and should be put out of business.
One star is still to high of a rating. Over $22,000. of damage. Need to find good attorneys. BBB needs to be contacted. Never again. Never call this company $25,000. in damaged furniture.

Terrible company! I hired them for a move to Largo. The owner was rude, savage, and very insulting. The employees were unprofessional and inconsiderate. They need training on how to communicate and respect the customer. This business is a hostile liability to the people of Tampa Bay. I DO NOT recommend this company for a move.

Worst company ever.horrible experience. The owner sent three men over my house the day of the move. The older guy told us we had to pack our own clothes. And when the owner Richard Zammito came to my house for an estimate he told me that they have a wardrobe thing to put our clothes in hanging up. He also put it on our estimate copy. He said it would be done at the end.
So I told the older guy that's not what the owner said. Then one of the guys got very rude with me and said he was in charge and they don't do that. I couldn't believe how unprofessional he was and nasty attitude he had. I told him to leave my house if that's how he was going to treat me in my own home. So he left and went outside. I told the older gentleman that I don't appreciate the way he spoke to me and being lied to by the owner.
He said I'll be right back. When my husband and I looked outside they were leaving. We asked what they were doing and they totally ignored us and just left. We had to move out that day. I called the owner and I tried to explain what happened. He didn't want to hear a word I was saying he said we can't move you. I said your just going to leave us stranded.
And he hung up on me. I called back 3 more times and he never picked up. I was so upset and crying. What a bunch of losers. Such horrible service. I had to search for another company at the last minute. Everyone was booked. We had to move our selves. And my husband had several seizures. We had no help. It took us till 4 am to finish everything and started at 12pm. We were in so much pain for the next three days. I would definitely not recommend this company.

For my upcoming move, I went with AAA discount movers for the labor to load my truck and I'm very glad I did! The 2 movers arrived on time and ready to work. We talked about the space limitations within the truck and they assured me that they would be able to pack my entire house within the allotted footage that the truck company gave me. They did that, with 2 feet to spare!

This place is a scam. It's two giant, sweaty fat guys who on the phone quote you a certain price ($275, including gas, labor, etc.), then who take all day to move a one-bedroom apartment 5 miles, then charge you $600 upon completion even though they had all the information ahead of time. I paid them anyway because I was desperate to move and because there's really no other option when people are standing there. Lastly, they stole my printer.
