DO NOT use North Bay for your house hold move, Poor quality and poor service. CAll A PROFESSIONAL Moving Company. These guys were amazing! From the first call with Terrie to setup the move until the last box was dropped off, it was a friendly and professional service. Ed, David and Martin were fabulous. They were very punctual and went above and beyond when we needed some extra boxing done and some furniture taken apart. They had a set of stairs on both ends and never once let that slow them down! As much as a pain it is to move, they made the process tolerable. Now if I could Comcast straightened out!

Terry and Robert could not have been more horrible. Antiques were destroyed, and they did only damage while costing a huge amount. They will go to court for their conduct, by the way, this was not a full move, this was just taking it to their storage space. So bad, we changed movers. They ruined so much. Do not use them. We've moved many times, but this is hard to understand. We have photos. Don't use them.

Number 1 it was very easy to communicate with North Bay Moving & Storage, they got back to me within 1 day and set up a time to give us a quote. The quote was comparable to others we received but based on how easy it was to work with them, and the excellent reviews, we chose North Bay Moving and Storage for our local move. The guys showed up on time and we went over what to move and what to leave behind.
They explained everything - about the cost of time driving and when they would be at the other location. It was a really hot day and they moved a ton of heavy stuff for us. I felt bad that in the chaos of moving I did not have the time to get bottled water or anything for them. But they didn't complain and worked fast even with the heat. Everything went smoothly, they did a good job of putting things in the right place and taking care of our fragile items.
Best of all they finished ahead of schedule and under budget of the estimate. I would definitely recommend North Bay and will call them first next time I need to move in the north bay.

I contracted with North Bay Moving & Storage for an interstate move from northern California to southern Washington. Several valuable and irreplaceable items were never delivered to the Washington destination. These things went "missing" while in the care of Allied Van Lines which physically moved us. North American Moving & Storage is an agent for North American Van Lines and Allied Van Lines.
While I can say that I don't think they were directly involved in the theft of my personal belongings, they are the agent for the moving van line that is responsible: Allied Van Lines. If you contract with North American Moving & Storage you take the chance that your personal belongs will be taken by someone hired by Allied Van Lines. Or taken by persons unknown who took advantage of an unguarded truck.
I have filed a police report and it is the opinion of the Central Marin Police Authority that my personal property was stolen while in the care of the Allied Van drivers Matt P. and his son Matt P. If you do use Allied Van Lines and these are the names of your drivers you should refuse to trust your belongings with them. I would pursue criminal charges if I could.
But at this point it is a civil matter and there is nothing I can do but regret my choice of contracting with North Bay Moving & Storage. I will regret choosing North Bay Moving & Storage for the rest of my life. Don't take the chance you will be moved by Allied Van Lines. Don't use North Bay Moving & Storage.

Chris and John did a great job with my move. They were easy to work with and spent a good amount of time making sure my items were securely and safely packed. All of my things are going into short term storage and they brought 3 large crates to assist me. I like the idea if the crates being closed and sectioned off. They came on time and didn't need to work the full amount on the estimate which saved me a couple hundred dollars. Overall a good experience and would recommend to anyone moving or looking for a short term storage w/moving.

I was blown away by the speed and professionalism of the team. They shrink wrapped all my white furniture and took amazing care of my valuables. I was impressed and gave each of the movers $100 tip because by the way they hustled they saved me at least that much! No matter who you use, give these guys a shot. Awesome.

Absolutely horrible! There was no communication for two weeks after pick up. When my boxes and furniture arrived - destroyed! Couch broken, kitchen table benches broken, every box with glass in - broken. My beautiful piece of art work destroyed. I know this is just "stuff" to them but many of the things that were broken, destroyed and lost had sentimental value to me.

Was told the moving truck was showing up on 3/7. Booked a hotel based off that info for my drive. Didn't show up until 3/8. Lost my free hotel room I had booked because of that. Moving guys were nice, but didn't wrap any of my furniture. Moving guys then called me asking if they could drop off the stuff a day early. Told me they would be at the apartment by 1pm.
I hustled to get there and they didn't show up until 5. Top it off, the truck was too big and couldn't fit in the complex. They had to track down a uhaul to unload my items into and then unload the items into my apartment. Didn't get done until 8pm (or later). The only plus to all of this is I received a check in the mail because they over quoted the weight of my items.

While it's easy to find bad movers, it's a special treat when you find a professional team that provides the sort of service we should always be expecting, rather than being a rare find. Today, I had such an experience with this crew. They arrived 5 minutes early, made recommendations and took care of my stuff like it was theirs, were respectful and were clearly trained in how to provide good customer service.
To find that all four movers were so efficient, nice, and thoughtful about even the most awkward or difficult piece to move, was a real treat. They never complained either. To my surprise, the bill came in under the estimate range. It was like the strawberry with the icing on top. Suffice it to say, i was very pleased at what I expected would be a harrowing experience, but instead was made much more pleasant. I'd use these movers again without giving it a second thought, real pros.

ROBBED BY PACKERS I hired Jan Farnsworth to move me from SF to DC. He in turned hired 2 packers - Victor Hinkle and Brian McIntosh - to pack my belongings. When all the boxes arrived in DC, only the empty tray designed to hold my family heirloom silverware set. My silverware was stolen. While upset and distraught, I was glad I had purchased REPLACEMENT INSURANCE.
But the joke was on me. North American decided that since my silverware was never put in a box to be moved, it was not covered by the insurance. Furthermore, the Claims Adjuster Tamara George admitted she never spoke to the packers, but took the word of Jan that they were trustworthy. Victor told me that he was surprised that Jan hired him, as he had to take him to court 20 years previously for back wages.
Yes Jan hired a disgruntled ex-employee - a stranger from 20 years ago - to pack me. How could he not have more reliable packers? First impressions go a long way, and my first impression makes me question dealing with this company. An appointment was made for an in-home estimate through the national office. I called the day of the appointment since I hadn't heard anything and figured perhaps since Monday had been a holiday they just hadn't had a chance. Apparently, my appointment never got on the books. Fortunately, they wanted to accommodate me and since one of their competitors cancelled the following day - this morning - they said they'd be out at 10:30am. 11am came today and no show, no call.
I called them and was told a shipment had come in and the owner - who is their estimator - had to oversee unloading, but he'd be leaving in 5 minutes to head up to us. This would put him around 45 minutes to an hour late. 5 minutes later I get a call that he's not coming since he has to be in San Francisco now, and that they're sending me a form to fill out so they can give me an estimate - which is precisely what I didn't want.
I want an expert to look at things, not to guess at things myself. I want someone I can actually talk to and ask questions as we go through. They can't accommodate me. If you can't even make your appointments for an estimate, how can I trust you to handle my belongings? Jan is nice and understanding. His staff is highly professional and accommodating. Having used a relocation specialist from my company as an intermediary, there was a lot lost in communication. Jan is willing to do the operational logistics which makes it much easier to have one only person to call. I ended up cutting the logistical person out totally and directed all communications with Jan. However, their command center is closed on Saturday, a day their movers still work. Be sure to get all your contact numbers prior in case something goes awry on the weekend. Thank you

This is the second time that I used this moving company, the first time was 12 years ago for a local move, which went really well, and this is a truly locally-owned company. This was an instate move about 200 miles away. I got a lot of free used boxes from the company ahead of time. On the day that the packers for breakables and my bedroom were to come, only one guy showed of the two expected.
He did a great job though, and was also my driver for the whole move. I felt the whole team was very professional. However, while I had an estimate for packing my entire load, I ended up packing about 60-70% of it myself, and the initial cut was that I would pay for all of it. I objected, and they adjusted the amount accordingly without much fuss.

I used North Bay to coordinate a move from CA to MA. This company was not transparent with what their "estimate" charges and fees were. They also overcharged me a price that I did not sign for or agree to AND they were not clear that this move price was NOT actually an "estimate" as documented, where the final price would be based on the final weight, but, rather it was a flat rate fee.
Typically cross country moves are weight based (somewhere around 10 cents per pound) and my previous move arranged through a DIFFERENT moving company in the other direction from NH to CA was very clear and the final price was appropriately calculated based on final weight. The word "estimate" to me does not mean flat rate fee. North Bay also charged me $700 for "shuttle" service based on an estimate of the time it would take to complete this shuttle transfer (Sausalito to Mill Valley).
It is a 15-20 minute drive from Mill Valley to Sausalito, it took 1 hour for their guys to inventory and load my items, it takes LESS time to unload and no unwrapping or unpacking would have been involved on the Mill Valley end as I had packed and wrapped EVERYTHING myself. So, this comes down to approximately 2.5 hours (maybe 3 max if their guys took a break) to complete this shuttle transfer. So, They charged me ~$233/hour - which is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS! This to me is dishonest and unreasonable. North Bay's customer service has also not been great and therefore, I would not recommend or use them again - Buyer Beware.

I used North Bay Moving several months ago for my move in San Rafael. They were very prompt, careful with my items, and extremely pleasant to work with. I had read the two other low Yelp reviews but called them anyway to get an estimate. The owner came to my house and was thoughtful in his estimate and seemed to really want my business which was very nice.
His movers were great and worked hard for the two days they packed and moved me. Their estimate was right on and there were no changes when it came time to pay. I would highly recommend them. I also referred them to some elderly clients that were moving out of town and they were very happy with their services as well so this is really two referrals for them in one review! My clients had a successful out of town move with North Bay Moving last week.
