Don't do it! Do not use this company! We had a military move from CA to TX. On loading day, the packers dumped most of our items that were in drawers or cabinets in the boxes. Nothing was organized or respected. The 2 guys loading the semi were rude, and were caught kicking some of our items, they didn't protect any of our furniture which ended up it a lot of damages.

Then here in TX on unpack day, on of the employees was arrested at the base gate due to an outstanding warrant. After all of that mess, I submitted the claim for all of our damaged and missing items, and called the claims office to get some info. And recieved a call back from a woman named Evonne Miriani with claims TEAM 3 who was VERY RUDE. Basically when she wouldn't answer my questions, I emailed her and she was extremely rude and told me she couldn't work because of my emails. Really?

She tried to say that the inventory list I sent her to prove that THEY damaged our couch, she tried to say it was a different copy from hers, Basically trying to scam and say the couch was damaged before our move. I sent her plenty of proof pics showing her that was not the case, and sure enough I received a email back from her giving the full amount of the couch that THEY damaged. i was very shocked at how rude and unprofessional EVONNE was!

Unigroup has been responsible for our military move, which is turning out to be the worst experience we've had in 12 years of moving. They are providing no solutions or answers. We are currently surrounded by boxes with no answer as to when a driver will be available to pick up or transport our household goods. The most frustrating part is the lack of communication.

Our move coordinator is impossible to reach by telephone, but sends vague emails. Today, she was even unaware that our household goods were still in our home, even though just yesterday she was supposedly working out a solution to this. If they are assigned to be your moving coordinator, please request a different one.

This company should step aside and let a legitimate company takeover. They outright lied for coordination on a recent move. They said one thing and did another. The only reliable thing about this company are the reviews this place earns. If you are in the military or doing a military move, contact your local transportation office and speak the truth. That way this company loses its contract.

*Update: Since posting my first review I received communication from someone who had an extremely similar experience to mine. She said UniGroup's representative even gave her the wrong date (past the actual due date) for an insurance claim and after reading my review she's certain they do it intentionally to avoid responsibility.

Horrible communication. And still waiting on a response from them regarding reimbursement and how to file a claim for my missing items (still waiting on a response from Kimberly Perez who I emailed two days ago) I spoke with someone in claims department almost a month ago and apparently they had my address wrong for one of the checks but not the other which doesn't make sense. (And still waiting on reimbursement ) The move was incredibly difficult.

I would go into more detail but I'm just tired of it all. If you have a choice please don't use them. I would rather have broken my back and moved our things myself because this was ridiculous.

Our shipment delivered over three weeks late due to an unrealistic timing estimate and lack of urgency within their logistic's and operations department. Customer Service is non-communicative and Managers repeatedly promise contact then fail to meet their promises. I've been waiting for a manager to call me back for 13 days, three separate times I was promised a call, then they again disappear. I've left dozens of messages and send close to 70 emails. We've incurred thousands of dollars in expenses as a result of their inability to fulfill their promises. TO NOTE: They only (and fairly consistently on email) respond when you directly quote the Rights and Responsibilities pamphlet that the DOT requires them to send out, and which clearly outlines their lawful responsibilities to communicate and find resolution to issues.

Military move from WY to KY. Loaded up on 8 Dec with a delivery date of 20 Dec. Its now 23 Dec and our household goods are still in WY. At this rate we may have our things by the second week of January. No Christmas decorations, furniture, beds, kitchen ware, clothes.none of it. The best part is they are only penalized $59 each day they are late. For a family of 5, not having their entire house, the compensation is $59 a day. Wonderful. Let's see how much stuff is broken or lost whenever they decide to deliver it all. Way to take care of the military Unigroup.

I am assisting an elderly client who had the misfortune of utilizing UniGroup. Unigroup truly deserves the terrible ratings they receive from their customers. Note that their positive reviews come from their own employees or contractors. Yelp doesn't allow them to game the rating system and UniGroup's rating on that site is close to zero. This company preys on elderly and vulnerable people by selling them expensive "full value protection" coverage and then denies their claims or makes low ball offers.

Avoid them at all costs. Unigroup's residential brands include United Van lines and Mayflower. In response to UniGroup's comment, we have spent hours working with their teams trying to resolve my client's damage claims, but the response from UniGroup has been consistently miserable. I'd love to see a direct phone number to someone with decision making authority posted on this site, but that person's phone would be lit up for days. UniGroup's claim handling practices need to be investigated and congress needs to revisit the caps on damages currently in place for claims related to interstate moves.

This review is in relation to a cross-country move, from Denver CO to Baltimore MD, in October 2020. We waited until now to post a review, as we were hoping to have some resolution of the damages incurred. However, as of today, August 5th 2021, we are still waiting for resolution. We signed an agreement with Mayflower Moving company to carry out our full service move.

As part of that agreement, we upgraded to (and paid for) the full replacement insurance option. *** A quick note: apparently, Mayflower subcontracts their pickup and delivery services, so you potentially will have multiple different people handling your belongings at different stages of the moves. In this case, the pickup was handled in Denver by Johnson Storage & Moving.

Long story short, the move was a disaster. First off, the delivery was late by a day outside the delivery window. Not terrible, just a little annoying as we had a 5 day window to begin with. The issues were uncovered at delivery time - multiple boxes were crushed and carefully packed items in the boxes damaged. Some of the boxes were very strong wardrobe style boxes with the metal hanging bar at the top and even those were collapsed.

Several furniture items (an armchair, an end table, a console table etc.) were damaged beyond use. An expensive Casper Wave mattress (which was bagged) somehow got water damage that was resulting in mold spots, as well as what looked like dirty boot prints. Something similar occurred to a large, expensive area rug that had been professionally cleaned and wrapped prior to the move, We discovered after the pickup, that the items were unloaded from the truck and repacked into wooden moving pods at a different site.

We suspect (but cannot prove) that this is where the damages happened. The damage is consistent with a crushing blow. Either something dropped onto them, or the items were themselves dropped from a height. Obviously, items were left out where the ground was also wet. In Baltimore, the delivery itself was horrendous, and that is not even included the physical damages.

The team leader was incredibly aggressive to the point that we wondered if we needed to have him removed. He argued vehemently with the building management, refusing to wear a mask. The team damaged hallway walls, damaged apartment walls, dropped everything in the living room, were refusing to do setup of larger items (per the full service agreement we had paid for).

A lot of items were left in the hallway for us to move. They basically just dropped things in the living room (left the coffee table standing on one end) and it was only when we insisted that they put the larger items (Couch, beds etc.) in the places they needed to be. We immediately contacted Mayflower and the Denver local representative. The Denver office arranged for $100 reimbursement for the single day delay.

We were then instructed to file a claim through their corporate claims team. The immediate offer was $500; however as estimated damages were closer to $4500, we declined that and proceeded to file a claim. This claim went to Claims Team 2 at Unigroup. Since October, this claims team has been incredibly incompetent. They have lost the photos sent multiple times, they have lost paperwork.

They seemed to be unaware that we had full value replacement coverage, and for example offered $150 in compensation for a $2500 mattress, even when they acknowledged that it was damaged. They only assessed a small fraction of the damaged items, even though the local assessor took pictures of everything and documented everything. As a result, the assessor had to come back and do it all over again.

To date, they have offered only $525 in compensation, just $25 more than their default offer to 'make it go away'. They completely ignore emails. If you call, you will get someone who quite frankly sounds like they hate their job and by extension, you. We can get absolutely nowhere. At this point, it's difficult to believe that they are quite this incompetent - it seems too deliberate, a ploy to get people to give up. Avoid!

NOPE! I am not in communication with anyone because your people do not reply nor respond. Do not use this public format to try and redeem yourselves. It's another example of your fraudulent activity.

My residential move contract is not being honored. My goods were picked up In Colorado Springs and according to my contract, due to arrive in Florida May 14, 2021 at the latest. It's now May 27 and my shipment remains in Colorado. Unigroup tells me they cannot find a truck and driver for my nearly semifull 13,000 pound household goods. Yet trucks are being filled and sent East everyday.

We have been sleeping on the floor for weeks. We spent over $3000 on travel expense, in addition to our down payment on the move of $5000. No one at the corporate office will offer any solution or propose any option. They are holding my family's household goods for their convenience and have total disregard for the people lives they are turning upside down.

UniGroup is parent company for Hilldrup Movers in Stafford VA. They sent a truck and crew to pick up belongings from my residence in Spotsylvania VA. I was favorably impressed to see the foreman make sure everything was securely packed and labelled then covered with their padding and carried to their small truck. Most of my belongings were already on their truck when the moving coordinator called to tell me that the large interstate truck I had been told would be on my street to transport my belongings to Florida was delayed and that now my things would have to be taken to a storage facility.

I told her I didn't want that to happen. Told me due to unfortunate delay I had no choice. When the interstate Mayflower truck pulled up at my Florida residence a week and a half later the real nightmare began. My storage totes were broken and/or missing. Things had been repacked and were no longer in the containers they had been in when they left my house in Virginia. Labels missing, cardboard packing boxes slashed, items inside that didn't belong to me, food items put in with childrens stuffed animals (broken glass jar of molasses put in with children's stuffed animals) dirty garage broom placed into chest with casio keyboard.

Anything that could be broken they succeeded in breaking, and even things that had survived multiple past moves were destroyed: Antique Juke Box, Portable hot tub, 5 piece stereo system, desktop computer and monitor, big screen TV, foam mattress topper, mirrors and pictures in glass frames shattered, arms broken off of recliners, every single wooden table scratched and stone inserts split into pieces, computer work station left my Virginia home in one piece but had been disassembled and broken.

There was driver and 2 crew workers but driver and 1 crew member remained on truck for 7 hours (why?) leaving only 1 worker to bring items to my garage door and hand to my elderly friend who had come to watch but ended up doing what I had paid movers to do. The loading from my split level home with two stair cases and plus 35 more feet to truck in driveway took only 2 hours.

Why did it take 7 hours to unload from truck to garage (distance of 10 feet) single level with no steps? Their moving estimate was the highest of the 4 I received but I chose them because of very positive experiences I'd had with United & Mayflower previously. Lesson to be learned - a big name company is only as good as it's smaller affiliates and most expensive is not a guarantee of good service. Many of my items which they destroyed cannot be replaced and I have cried way too many tears.

We had a terrible experience using them for our recent move. Despite scheduling our move months in advance, they did not have the second truck or crew which we had contracted scheduled, and the driver and crew of the first/main truck had to spend until after midnight loading our home. On the delivery side, they also had inadequate help to unload the trucks, with one person only having a couple days of experience.

As a result, we sustained a HUGE amount of damage to our furniture and home. We purchased full insurance, for which we submitted our claims. The United Vanlines (Unigroup) office (Claims Group 2) is refusing to have our furniture repaired, or replace items at replacement value - claiming that things had 'pre-existing damage' and a host of other excuses.

Many of these items are things that the packers and movers documented that they damaged, and they never once asked to see the photographs that were taken of our furniture prior to the move or any other information to support our claims. I have no doubt that the employees in this office are paid to deny claims, regardless of proof - betting that most people will not pursue litigation. I have moved a lot for my job, and this is the worst move and company I have ever experienced.

Unit group mayflower movinggroup are scammers. After moving from Washington to Florida. We were charged over twice the quoted price. $10000 in damage. No return calls. Do yourself a favor pick anyone but mayflower who is owned by UniGroup. I sure wish I would of read reviews. I'm waiting for a class action lawsuit to join.

UniGroup is famously known in the Military move network as the WORST MOVING COMPANY IN THE UNITED STATES. They are notorious. 15+ years of military service and this is the worst moving company we have dealt with. An F5 scale disaster from start-to-finish. UniGroup cares about one thing. money. They are frauds and bullies and that is what they both hire and aspire to be.

When it came to paying for the $25,000 in Household goods they lost/destroyed - UniGroup tried to claim we did not file in time to make a legal claim. Is that even remotely believable when they destroyed a home full of new furniture? Finally USAF claims supervisor got involved they said "Oops - that was our mistake." Yes, yes it was. UniGroup also fraudulently tried to claim that certain items we were told by them to discard (because they had been broken or torn in half) could not be paid for as the company (UniGroup) could not verify items were "beyond repair." This company is beyond repair.

Every step of every moment - UniGroup = TOTAL CUSTOMER AGONY. Consider yourself WARNED. Call your Military TSP and get someone else. If you are not military, for goodness sake, why are you still reading? Go somewhere else. If I could take away stars I would. Read on and look at the other reviews and thank your lucky stars you read them before hiring this company.

I'm still waiting for my claim and BBB complaint to be resolved. Movers over-estimated my belongings by a third (approx 3400 lbs) and three containers when all I had was 2200 pounds and needed 2 containers. Corporate claims because I have a bound estimate they don't have to refund me, despite what the local movers I used said. They also claimed they don't do container moves when I had delivery issues.

I bought full value replacement insurance on my move and Unigroup continues to stall and lowball me as to the value of my items that were destroyed in the move - they initially pushed me to accept a $500 final offer for damages when they movers tore up a $2200 couch along with damaging or destroying several other possessions.

I wish I had reviewed this company before using them. We were told the movers were going to be there on the 4th of June from 8 am to 5 pm after my husband waited all day in his car outside the storage unit they never showed. After constantly calling and emailing the company to find out what happened we never got a response TILL THE NEXT DAY! To my aggravating surprise they were never going to show is what the associate told us. BUT that the movers are to show today on the 5th of June.

The first call with the associate was at 7 am. By 12pm we are fed up and waiting AGAIN. Called the company AGAIN! The movers decided to go to lunch before arriving because apparently our load won't "take all day." What a joke of a company. Very unprofessional in all aspects.

I wish I had read the reviews of this company before making my decision. I've used two other major carriers in the last 20 years without major damage or loss. This time I'm missing several items, probably two boxes and I know specifically what did not arrive. My family accepted delivery for me since I had a work commitment. One United agent booked me but sent a truck from another state.

Now they both claim they haven't got a clue what happened to my boxes that were not delivered. They claimed my family waived their right to do the check off inventory control sheet; in fact, they were NOT offered the check off sheet. The driver used barcoded stickers; why do they not scan them on a check list at the time of loading and scan them again at delivery?

There are other companies very skillful at this technique. I filed a claim because I wanted a search; they tell me the search is negative. No doubt it's negative since they don't scan any barcodes! I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. If I move again, I will do it myself.

The company damaged one of my items during a recent move. I filed a claim. Throughout the claims process, the company has employed a variety of unethical techniques in an attempt to bully, scare and intimidate me into accepting a settlement less than the amount of my claim. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for me, I won't be bullied, scared and intimidated, nor have I ever or will ever settle for less than my claim amount. Period. This was also a government move and they are not performing per the Terms of Service (contract). Unigroup owns Mayflower and United.

If I could give zero stars I would. I loved my sales guy Shawn but once we left his care the remainder of our move was nothing short of a nightmare. A number of items were not inventoried and we had them pack the high value items only to have a number of those items broken or destroyed. Our move was in March and we are still dealing with the claims process (yes almost a year later).

During both our load and unload they rushed the process (I realize now that doing so saved them money) but allowing them to hurry cost us big time. They did not inventory all of the items so when some stuff came up missing they're answer was "it wasn't on the sheet". They ended up delivering over 40% of our boxes to the wrong floor on our new house despite clear labels and instruction.

Because of the way they rushed the off load, we did not discover this until the next day. Our driver flat out lied. He said, "oh, just sign that we delivered the stuff and if there is a problem your customer service person can work it out for you". Ha! I spent a couple of months and had multiple discussions and emails with all levels of Mayflower only to be told "too bad".

No offer of any kind of refund, no apology, just lies and misdirection. My strong recommendation, if you choose to use these guys is to have someone standing at the door of the truck for the entire time they are loading and confirm the number on everything that enters the truck. If they try to rush you, ignore them. Do the same coming off the truck and don't let them enter the house without an escort to ensure exactly where items are delivered. DO NOT sign anything the day they finish with the drop off.

Tell them you need to inspect everything before you will sign. DO NOT sign anything regarding property damage until you can verify each and every item, including the condition of your home. They scratched our brand new hardwood floor and then covered it with boxes stacked higher than my head (I'm 6'4"). When we finally discovered the damage we were told that we had already signed that there was not property damage so we couldn't even make a claim.

You will also discover that you are not hiring a single company but a series of companies all of whom blame the other for anything that happens. By the way Mayflower and United are owned by Unigroup and the parent company is just as bad. I would recommend avoiding at all cost.

WARNING! This is the worst moving company you could ever work with! We had United Van Lines which is owned and operated by Unigroup move us. They lost or stole 25 percent of our household belongings and damaged another 20 percent of the items they did move. We purchased the "Full value Protection" for a substantial fee and that was as worthless because at this point we have not received anything from them in form of repair or repayment for lost and damaged items.

The move was June, 2017, now almost 9 months later, after numerous phone calls, mail and emails not a thing has been done. Even a return of the lost items would be a huge step in the right direction! They continue to send letters stating that a settlement form will be sent in a few hours, another stating in a week and yet more stating in 2 weeks we will receive offers to settle the claim.

At this date not one thing has been done. These are the most devious, unprofessional, dishonest business people you will ever work with. If you go to their website you will see this: " At UniGroup we act with integrity. We are committed to conducting business safely, honestly, and in compliance with the law. Our Code of Conduct is the roadmap we use to make the right decisions and play by the rules each and every day. This is the biggest joke and LIE I have seen!

I moved from Long Beach, CA on 9-27-16 to Reno, Nevada. United/Mayflower, all UNIGROUP. I had moth damage on their Mayflower trailer in the 8 days they had my belongings. My High Value, 6 X9 area rug, which is valued at $3,500 was completely destroyed in that 8 day period. They are now telling me, after sending an inspector to see the rug at my home, that the amount for my claim is $0.00.

Due to what the inspector said. Very strange, that the inspectors(2 of them) said they had never seen any thing like that in their life. Mind you, they are cabinet and furniture repair people, and are not rug experts, so why were they sent? I have proof that the rug had no damage prior to moving and I am taking this to arbitration. I also find it weird that when I called the inspector today, I get a voice recording saying they are closed for vacation for 3 weeks!

What store closes for 3 weeks? I have photos and documentation to support my claim. I will never use Mayflower, United or their agents, Golden Eagle. I am beyond upset. This rug was in mint condition.

Unreliable and dishonest. Screwed up our shipment and our stuff was 2 weeks late, were very dishonest about what happened and then offered no help to remedy their mistake (which they admitted). After all that, they denied our damages claim because it was submitted 1 day late. These people are scum and should not be in business.

We moved directly from one state to another, no stop along the way. So the boxes never left the truck. The movers seemed ok at first then upon our family unpacking we realized that boxes were missing. Unfortunately, for many reasons, we did not unpack all our belongings for a number of months. Upon realizing items were missing we contacted the moving company. Unfortunately, they will not do anything about it.

I was not looking for money from them as the items that were stolen were my grandmothers glassware. It was more sentimental than anything. So my memories were stolen from me and the company could care less. There is no repercussion to the men who moved my family. In short, the movers are thieves and the company doesnt care. Dont trust them and if you do use them be sure to check EVERYTHING. Sadly, they cannot be trusted.
