Moving to another city can be stressful and usually is even if you have hired a moving company to help with all of the packing and moving. All State Moving Systems in Poway really was the most stress free experience in moving that I have ever had. They were awesome. A very professional moving company. From the professionalism of Leonard who provided the estimate, to Terri who coordinated the move dates and times, returned my numerous phone calls and followed through with me after the move to make sure everything went well.
Thanks to the gals who came to pack me up. They were wonderful. Thanks to Ivys for calling to let me know the time of arrival at my new destination, for being on time, and for being so careful with my furniture. Thanks again All State Moving Systems.

Allstate packed our household goods and stored them for a year. I am very particular about documentation and proper packing. The team was incredibly patient with me during the pack-out process and they were extra thorough in packaging and labeling everything. High-end tools, silverware, and family heirlooms were well packed and returned free of any damage or theft. Jessica was responsive, patient, and helpful throughout the year-long process. I would trust them again with our move if it were necessary.

Great experience with Allstate Moving Systems. The process was fully explained and the timetable followed precisely. Terri, our moving coordinator, communicated with us, keeping us up to date on the move and progress. The estimate and actual cost didn't vary. No lost items. Ours was a cross country move. Services: Interstate moving, Moving-related packing, Senior moving

Had to use this company for my military change of station move. They didn't show up during the time frame provided (11-2pm). I had to call four different times just to figure out when they were coming. They finally showed up over 2 hours late and then sat outside for 20 minutes eating chips and snacks before they started anything. It's been over 2 hours and it's past 6pm and they've only packed one room. Such a waste of my day. The one bright side is they are packing everything really well.

I had a great experience with Allstate packing up my household goods! They wrapped every item with care and quickly. The team lead was very knowledgeable and coached the packers through the many complicated items I have, to include large and heavy gym equipment. Very diligent and skilled with furniture disassembly. If I could give them a -5, I would. We moved from TX to CA.The entire move was great till we got here. They were late. They were throwing boxes. They damaged my walls. deep cut into the walls. they damage furniture while in storage as well as when they were moving is in. We have Thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of damage.( they threw a 100 yr old grandfather clock's weights onto the ground). Busted all three of the weights. They cussed in front of my kids. I could go on, but I will say you time. If they are your last option. DON'T MOVE!

I called to get a quote for a cross-country move and made an appointment with Michael to come out and survey my house the following day at noon. He said someone would contact me that morning when they were on the way. I did not receive any calls that morning and followed up with a call to the office when it was noon and no one had arrived. I did not get an answer so I left a message.
I called back a half hour later and a gentleman answered the phone and said he would check to see where Michael was and either Michael would contact me, or he would call me right back. It is now 5:40pm and I have not been contacted by anyone, nor has anyone arrived for my survey. What a waste of my time - especially when most companies are doing virtual surveys due to COVID-19. If this is the level of service they provide when trying to land a customer, I would not recommend hiring for such an important task as moving your belongings.

We used Allstate for a move from San Diego to WI. The movers came on time and helped with some last minute items that needed to be packed up they all where wearing masks and very friendly. The movers that came to drop our stuff off at our new place however where not as pleasant they came in as if they where in a hurry to leave our things which we had already been waiting for a week halfway through they said they would take a break and then come back and continue they took a smoke break which then could be smelled through out our place once they came back to finish. It started good and just ending up with an ok experience.

We used Allstate Moving Systems for our cross country move and were overall happy with the move. Our driver from United Van Lines was fantastic and kept in touch with us along the way. The crew locally in San Diego and the local one at our destination were also fantastic. They arrived promptly and took care with our stuff. One thing we were not happy about with Allstate was the fact that they ended up charging us $800 more on the morning of the move because the driver said he could not make the turn onto our street, so they had to have shuttle trucks brought in and the big truck had to be parked somewhere else.
That meant transferring our stuff from two trucks to one truck. This was the 11th hour, the morning of the move and what were we to do at that point except say yes to the charge. I had spoken with the driver the day before and he also said he would come by to look to see if he could make the turn. he called and said he would not be able to do it, so he would have to get shuttle trucks.
Now why the sales associate did not know that beforehand, or did they and that is a way to make extra money on the day of the move. either way, no matter how many apologies, it did not sit well. This very well could be a way for them to actually make more money on the day of people's moves. Not appreciated. They said, they leave that decision to the truck drivers, but come on, anyone could have seen, a 53' 18 wheeler would never make the turn and get up the street.
We already knew on the delivery end, we would need a shuttle because of the same issue. Other than that, and the loss of one box, which absolutely no one could explain where it went to, (again, using shuttles and owners lose sight of their property) and there is nothing to do, because we packed it ourselves. Chalk all this up to lessons learned. Overall, we and our property arrived safe and sound with little damage or loss. Just buyer beware.

For the most part the customer service is great. until it's time to actually receive your belongings. There was little communication as to when things would be delivered. Beware that you sign up for a delivery window, which I was fine with, but telling me "they'll let you know an hour before they get there" with no actual date is inconsiderate of a customers time. The movers however were wonderful when they arrived. My suggestion is to be stricter about communication with partnering moving companies.

I have 6 years selling on Amazon and I manage around $4 million in ad spend per month for vendors selling on Amazon. I have had my own Amazon store and I have had the chance to partner and work with like minded people along the way. You DON'T want to work with ALLState if you are doing eCommerce. They do not respond emails, they are not supportive, they don't take calls. Don't work with these guys.

Good news: our stuff arrived at TEN days, despite promises there were multiple drivers on standby to take our load. Most of it arrived safely. Most, not all. That's it. Bad news: It was a debacle from the start. Salesman guarantees "we will help you pack, we move 90 yeAr olds safely!" He never showed his face again, a shame as 6 movers running around packing and loading boxes is insanity.
They won't use your boxes. We paid to have EMPTY, FLAT boxes and dish pack inserts (they used NO INSERTS) as we will have a local move in 8 months so need non-returnable, new boxes. They use a technique that is sketchy, packing their expensive boxes full of their expensive packing paper, all for one small item (small tin salt shaker in a huge box).there's LOTS of that.
We could e had 100 boxes for small apartment.we packed 50. They ran up 300 BOXES! Cha-Ching! Broken items. Smashed items. Ruined clothes they packed. Ruined furniture. There is a romance between the woman in the office and a packer/mover that complicated things. This is not the way to do business, although better than Mayflower. Pay the $$ and use a smaller company that moves you from beginning to end.
These jerks DO NOT CARE. Expected generous tips. Lied. Had guys at origination who were completely unsupervised. It made a big move into a big mess. We will update this when our claim is completed and see how the manage compensation for the numerous damages. Not to mention the excessive boxes, packing materials at a huge cost. For now, stay away from Allstate in Ventura County.
I will modify this if they step up and fix the losses we incurred, but they're not going to refund the excessive charges for overstuffed boxes! BBB, NTSB, etc will be notified of these practices.

We recently relocated from Carlsbad Ca to Sonora Ca and used Allstate Moving Systems. From the call to get an estimate to packing our belongings to loading and delivery of our belongings everything was done professionally. Every step of process was done on time and all personnel that we had contact with were professionals and assisted us with in making this move a little less stressful. Thank you for your help in making our move!

This company and Ed are utter waste! They reached me cause of Angies list, and sent me a quote. When I started to ask questions and requested to send someone to give me the accurate cost of the move, Ed said " If you pay the reservation charge of $600, then we will send someone to check, and will refund the money of any changes" When I mentioned I have other movers come and give me the estimate without and upfront money.
He was like, I do not compete with them and I do not have to do all these things to earn business. When I said in that case, I will think about this and call back. HIS WORDS " You know what, don't call me. I don't want to do business with people like this, as I am breaking his company's protocol" I am surprised, how they still have this business with this guy ED being their GM. Don't do business with these guys if by any chance you liked to be treated as humans.

I moved my elderly father in-law to a assisted leaving facility (on Oct 24th) and this company was recommended by somebody at this place. What a pleasant experience! A guy went to the house first to make an estimate. I did all the packing (boxes) my self, they offered the service, I just wanted to know where everything was packed so I just did it.
Including driving time to his house/and the assisted living facility and loading and loading the truck was 4 hours, they estimated 7.5 hours, so it cost me half of the price the originally told me. that was awesome! They were 3 guys helping with the move, Miguel, Randy and Brenner, very professional, nice aptitude, organized and were treating all the boxes and furniture with care. I highly recommend this company and the 3 guys that help me with the move.

I called to receive an estimate. Initially Ed was friendly. Then when I started asking questions and telling him we might not afford the rate, he started explaining why other things would cost more (which is fine, it's a business). When I said I had moved myself a few times, he became defensive and curt, "Well then you move yourself and enjoy it." When I explained that I could not commit until I knew the full amount, he became demeaning and unprofessional, saying, "I do not work with people who respond in such a way." I don't think it's unreasonable to ask questions before I put money down.
He seemed offended that I was unsure about moving with them. I would not work with them because of how quickly defensive and arrogant he became, "Hey, we have plenty of business, we don't need to work with someone like you." Not helpful.

The driver was excellent. The moving company was dysfunctional. They told me to be there at 10am, driver was there at 10am, the helpers showed up at 3pm 5pm and 7pm. this was a bad experience, exhausting and for no reason to be stressful. Never again. Not the cheapest by any means, talk a good story, dont follow through.

Flawless execution - I've moved several times across the country and this was one of, if not the, best experience I've had with a moving company. Nothing was damaged, nothing was lost and everything happened as planned and on time. All the folks I dealt with were courteous, professional and friendly. I also received notice that I would be getting a refund due to having less weight than originally estimated. Not much, but appreciate the honesty and follow through. I highly recommend Allstate Moving Systems for your move.

We were moving from the West Coast to the East Coast. The initial consultation and pre-move went very smoothly. The actual move was a disaster. The move lasted one day longer than quoted, as a result we had to incur additional personal costs and personal hardship. When I spoke to the representatives during and after the move, the customer service support was less than poor. I paid a high premium with this company, thinking I would get superior service. But in the end, the move was near catastrophe.

We were assigned this company for a courtesy move within San Diego (we're Navy).the guy came out to do the survey, handed me the paperwork to sign confirming the new address, the date, and that it was a one day move (we lived in a 1000sq ft 2bedroom apt with a one car garage).they show up on the day of the move (at the end of the time window I was given) only to be told they would be packing that day and picking up the next!
This was really unacceptable as my lease ended that day and I was already paying rent at the new place.so phone calls were made and basically they were unwilling to work with me on this and were very rude. Andy was argumentative and condescending. It didn't matter that I wasn't included in the email telling base that they needed two days for the move, I was blamed because I said we only had 4000 pounds and their survey said I have 7100.yeah, because I'm fitting 7100 pounds of stuff in a 1000 sq ft 2 bedroom apt.we had 8000 pounds in a three bedroom 2 car garage and that was with a hot tub! GMAFB Anyway, I gave up arguing with them because it was clear they were no help and the people at personal property on base weren't pushing the issue.didn't matter that I'm pregnant with health issues, have a toddler and two dogs, and my husband is deployed.
I had to deal with all this last minute and stay in a hotel along with paying rent for an extra day at the old place. I'll be filling out the survey for the Navy and hopefully they'll eventually get enough bad reviews and lose their contract.they were slow and that's why it took two days not that I have too much stuff. I've been moving with the Navy for 14 years (even OCONUS) and this was by far the worst experience ever and it was for a move 15 minutes down the road! If you're ever assigned this company, ask for a different one!

Moving is never easy, but when facilitated by the best, it becomes less painful. I have moved roughly 24 times in 60 years, cross city, intra and inter state and internationally with occasional temporary storage en route. My last move, intra state, was without a doubt the most professional, sensitive and accommodating move to date (and I hope my last).
From the initial inventory estimate to the last check-off of the inventory list on arrival, expertise was shown at every step. I have 200 year-old antiques and a library with books going back to the 1600's. Ed, Sales Manager Susan, Coordinator Larry, inventory and pick-up driver Leonard, Estimator Jose, delivery boss and driver and all others behind the scenes All to be commended.
And finally: my first Moving Company contact was with a very major, large company, recently expanded to Escondido, CA. I was handled abruptly, inventoried poorly and "Zip-coded" (92067). That's when they see where you are from and tack on. I was uncomfortable with that and with just a four-day notice, was accommodated by ALLSTATE MOVERS out of Poway, CA in a most professional way - and economically. 30% under the "Zip-coding company. Do it again? In a heartbeat with ALLSTATE MOVING COMPANY out of POWAY, CA

UPDATE! Just called United. "There is nothing we can do." I moved from San Diego to Chicago, with very little because I was out there on temp assignment. Easy, right? Ha. 1. I was told that the movers would be loading my stuff first and would be there early in the morning, and call me the day before to confirm. I got NO call. Finally, at 8pm that evening, I had to call the cell phone of the person who came for the estimate, who had to call the dispatcher, who informed me that I was third on the list.
The movers weren't there till late afternoon. 2. I informed them that my stuff would be delivered to a storage facility with drive-in capabilities and they said perfect, they were going to load my stuff onto a smaller truck upon receipt in Chicago I am now told that my stuff can't be delivered until the 3rd week of August, and that I'll be charged a $50 fee because they need a Chicago "parking permit" FOR A DRIVE IN FACILITY? 3.
I was told my stuff would be in Chicago the second week of August. It will not now be delivered until at LEAST August 17. I have no work clothes. I have no decent makeup. I have documents I'd like to get to. But no. Never, ever, EVER use United. All I get is wrong information and the local moving companies they hire are unresponsive and uncommunicative.

After this company was assigned to be my movers via TSP (I'm active duty Navy) they never called me to verify/schedule my requested pack out date and time. I received the email of who they were on July 11th. They're supposed to contact you within 3 business days. Well, after 10 calendar days went by without a word from them, I called the TSP directly (July 21st) and left a voicemail informing them of what was going on.
They sent an email to Allstate, who called me the next morning, and gave excuses that they were busy and implied that I'm just impatient. Mind you, they finally called me on a Friday morning. I requested to pack out on that following Tuesday! I'm not going to wait all weekend and hope they show up Tuesday! Fast forward to Tuesday. They didn't call or show up Monday (the day prior to pack out) to do a survey like they implied they would.
By 2:30 I hadn't received any phone calls of when they would show, so I called their office. The lady who answered sounded confused when I told her they never called me, neither that day not the day before. She contacted them, called me back, and informed me that they weren't going to show up for another 3 hours (around 5:30) because they "got too busy". WELL, IF THEY WOULD HAVE BOTHERED CONTACTING ME IN THE FIRST PLACE TO ACTUALLY SET UP MY PACK OUT AND SURVEY, I WOULDN'T BE UPSET.
I HAD TO CONTACT *THEM* 4 DAYS PRIOR TO ME MOVING OUT OF TOWN. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ATROCIOUS (other than the lady who answered my call - Kristen? Or something that starts with a K, she was very nice). UPDATE: it is 7pm and NO ONE has shown up OR called me to indicate they would be late picking up my (less than) 50lbs of stuff.
This is fucking outrageous and I have left a voicemail with the office that closed at 5 (30 minutes before the movers were supposed to be here) telling them they need to fix their shit. I also left a voicemail with the TSP (Deseret Forwarding International Co.) letting them know that no one showed up. I am LIVID.

Allstate was a subcontractor in the shipping order I made with an awful company from the east coast. Ron the manager and associates Jessica and Aphy from Allstate Moving systems were extremely helpful. They helped us working out a reasonable solution and even more. While we were stuck in communication errors with that other shipping company they didn't charge us additional fees because they understood what was going on.
I very rarely worked with a company that customer friendly like Allstate. I was afraid of our international relocating but we got some great experience here. The packing job they did at our residence was absolute professional and fast. They were careful and friendly even though we pushed them since we had to get to the airport. I would like to recommend Ron and his team to everyone who needs a mover. I'm glad I got to meet them. Thank you!

At first I was going to hire a company I had used a few times and my sister said to call Allstate. They did give me a lower rate, but you get what you pay for! Not only did they leave a bunch of things behind but they destroyed a bunch of my stuff. They said I could file a claim, so I did, they said "we didn't receive it". The girl on the phone said I had a year to file.
Yeah right! I sent it in the mail per their instructions, they never followed up. When I called, she said it was 9 months, how very convenient. So the lowsy $0.60 per pound they were going to give me, I didn't get anything! They crushed a 160 year old antique table, scraped up my brand new refrigerators exterior all up, broke every single plastic container, put my king size mattress a queen size box when I payed for a complete covered king and now there is black stains all over it!
I even tipped them over $1000 dollars and gave them 6 air conditioners brand new! Such jerks! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE A TOTAL RIP OFF! THEY DON'T BACK THEMSELVES UP EITHER! STAY AWAY!

We made a local move and I called United Van Lines as they were great for us in the past. Their local agent is Allstate. Everything was great through the entire process. They charge $95 hr for two guys and a truck. From the mult. quotes we received it was in the ballpark price of the competitors. Our movers were on time and were careful with all our stuff. They wrapped all our furniture and were very efficient. I would recommend Allstate to anyone, our experience was great.

I scheduled a move a couple weeks in advance to move my father into assisted care, checked the day before the move to make sure we were still on the schedule. The next morning I made the 45 minute drive up to my father's to meet the movers, waited a couple hours, called Gemini and they said they had some other things come up and they forgot to call me.
They did make the move a few days later, but gave me no consideration for the half day and 90 minutes drive time (to and from) I wasted going to meet them, plus the problems it caused with my father getting settled into assisted living. Not the way I'd run my business.
