I'll save you all a bit of legwork. From my quote: "Our standard moving package is 3 movers and 1 truck at $199 per hour. There is a 3-hour minimum charge. This includes all the loading and unloading so you won't have to lift a thing. Plus, we also include moving blankets and up to 8 free wardrobe boxes. (that is over $200 worth of value) Of course, any non-reusable supplies are at an additional charge.

You can always provide your own as well. We also have moving insurance to help protect your valuable belongings, and we can also pack and unpack for you - replay back with "pack" and the best number to speak with you at for a list of items and sizes. There is a $150 travel fee." They were higher than other quotes on Yelp. Others were not tacking on a ridiculous travel fee. Isn't that the cost of doing business? Movers have to come to you so that fee should be built into their bid.

This is especially true if you are looking in their service area. Outside that you can understand the fee, but inside. robbery. It's that travel fee that prompted me to write the review and give them 3 stars.

I want to say wow! I move often, so working with company that I can trust is critically important to me. I had a couple of hiccup during the move but the staff at all levels in this company is amazing. They are attentive, understanding and human. No one can expect perfection, but working with a company that strives for that and shows up with customer focused solutions when they don't, should give everyone confidence. I will absolutely use NorthStar again, and would recommend that you do too!

We had a great experience with NortStar. Austin and his team were excellent. They took lots of care to ensure all of our items were wrapped up properly before loading them on to the truck. They worked hard and adhered to all of my requests without any pushback. I initially had concerns about using a larger moving company as I normally prefer to support smaller businesses. However, the experience I had with NorthStar was levels above the last moving company I previously hired. I'm glad I made the right choice. I would highly recommend them!

Needed a last minute move and called Northstar when I saw their high ratings on Yelp. They have a 3-hour minimum and although I knew it wouldn't take that long, I was happy to put my move in the hands of the super friendly dispatcher. Austin and his quality team arrived on time and moved quickly and efficiently, while maintaining perfect care of my items. The move went off without a hitch and they were professional and had awesome attitudes the entire time! I would be happy to use Northstar again! :

The day I moved LA had rare torrential rain, but you wouldn't know it was unpleasant because the guys all kept it light hearted and there was plenty of laughter too. Thank you to Jairo, Kevin and Elizar for an easy, quick and professional move!

These guys HUSTLED! I also very much appreciated the amount of communication from the time it took to get an estimate, scheduling and confirming arrival date and time, and day of arrival. The crew were super helpful and did an amazing job loading my entire house onto the moving truck. I also appreciated how organized the lead was with all the documentation.

They packed some of my more fragile items with care and special attention. All my items are being moved into a warehouse for the time being so hopefully the drop off experience will go okay. Also, I've moved before and the cost to do so was fair. Maybe a tad on the higher side, but worth it due to their professionalism.

Austin and Alex came to pack our truck for our move cross country. Both the guys were great and helpful with putting stuff in the truck and getting everything organized, taping up priceless items and wrapping things we wanted in plastic wrap. Highly recommend using them for all moving needs!

Inquired several companies for my move from California to Texas and ended up getting a referral from a smaller moving company that wouldn't be able to do our move since they are limited to 2 bedroom apartments. After reading all the reviews about Northstar, I felt pretty confident that I would get excellent service for my long distance move. My last move was a local move 8 years ago and had a great experience with the moving company; however the reviews started to reflect poorer service so I decided to go with Northstar.

From the very beginning, Northstar was responsive and Lorena was my moving specialist and was so easy to deal with from the very beginning. We did the virtual estimate and gave me a price, which was high but knowing that the costs for moving have gone up, I thought it was reasonable. 3 days prior I sent them an updated inventory and Lorena sent me an updated estimate which increased the cost but I added a significant amount of items.

On move day, the crew called when they were about 40 minutes from my home. Manny, Alfonso, Willy and Mauricio came into the home to confirm what needed to be taken. They arrived at 9AM and and finished everything at 3PM with a lunch break in between. All 4 of the guys took a lot of care when wrapping and would make sure to point out any damage that existed on my furniture.

I have a 2800sq ft, 4 bed/3.5 bath home and was amazed at how efficient and professional the guys were. I give them 5+ stars for an awesome job. Thank you Northstar for an amazing experience and making things so much easier. I'll write an update once I arrive at my new home in Texas and receive my belongings. I don't anticipate any less than 5 star service when I get to my destination. Thank you guys!

Thank you NorthStar! Manny and his crew were fantastic, they HUSTLED, and made our move so easy! We had a very complicated move, going to 3 (!) destinations, our house was a complete disaster and only halfway packed on moving day, everyone was panicking, the forces of chaos were abound, and it was POURING RAIN the entire time. but the crew patiently listened to what we needed, arranged all of their gear and work area, then jumped to work.

We had to sort all of the items by destination, and the crew got it 100% correct, so when we got to each place, the unload was super fast, and we didn't have to re-organize anything! I'd find it hard to believe that any other team of movers could do the job faster than they did. The 3 person crew was in perpetual motion, working as a team to simultaneously (un)pack/wrap and lift as necessary, which saved a lot of time compared to having 2 people.

Because our last destination, a storage place, closed early that day, we were on a tight schedule, and they got us all the way through, with time to spare. I felt the hourly rate was fair, it included all the fees, and the material costs were reasonable. Valery was very helpful setting it all up, she was responsive and made sure we had the right information and timing. She even took the time to follow up and repeat all the details for me the day before the move, just in case I had questions or any issues, which I really appreciated.

This is the second time I've used Northstar Moving Company. The first time I was moved from San Fransisco to Phoenix. The second time was a local move in Phoenix about a year later. Both times I was extremely impressed with the ease of scheduling the move and the promptness of the movers. The movers are very conscientious packing belongings and moving up and downstairs. Everything was on time and taken care of as expected. I cannot recommend Northstar Moving enough.

So, we did our move in 2 days using 2 companies. The company the first day did great and took most of the bulky items and a ton of boxes. They were real professional movers. NorthStar was supposed to come in and basically get the remainder. They moved about half the bulk as the first day company for 3 times the cost ($1k vs. $3k). They required constant hand holding and reminders what went to storage and what didn't.

I still have to make trips moving stuff put in the wrong place. I also need to rehire the first moving company to move stuff Northstar couldn't figure out how to move (dining table, bed frame). Also, while you're paying for 3 people, 1 is often hanging out in the truck during loading. The guys were fine, just some guys trying their best but not professional movers, for the price they should have been top-notch. Update: I bumped the two star (lacking) to three (solid) because I received a call from the company and they made a reasonable effort to set things right.

I appreciate the follow-up and as suggested should have called the office during the move with any problems. They offered to move the items left behind but I declined. I changed the rating as if that had been completed and for follow-up effort.

We have moved fourteen times in the past twelve years; sometimes we've used movers, and other times we undertook it ourselves. After a number of terrible experiences with multiple moving companies, we were reluctant to use movers ever again. This time we had to, so we bit the bullet, and boy are we glad that NorthStar Moving Company is in this business!

We had never used them before, and we only reached out because of reviews like this one; they were amazing! The crew showed up on time, packed and moved two storage units, then drove them eighty miles to our destination without a glitch, without a complaint, and without forgetting about customer service for a split second. I don't post reviews often, but when I do it's either because the service was horrendous or because it was exemplary. We recommend NorthStar Moving Company to everyone, and we will use them for all moving needs going forward.

I previously wrote about how the move did not go well and that I felt as though I was overcharged while also getting a bad experience. Wendy with NorthStar reached out to me and was the sweetest person. She empathized with me and offered to correct the situation with a partial refund to show how much they value their customers. I wish I had reached out to her/management during the move so that things may have gone differently.

They seem to truly care about their customers and I was just unlucky with the one crew I got (hence why I left it at 4 instead of 5 stars). Don't hesitate to tell them if anything during your move isn't going well! They can help right a wrong before it goes too far.

I had a great experience with NorthStar - they saved me after I was left hanging by another company (lowball bid and no show the day of the move). Kate at NorthStar was completely understanding, was quick to respond, and secured a moving team for me within days. John and his team that handled the pickup in CA were totally professional. They re-packed a lot of my boxes (that were admittedly poorly packed) and made an itemized list of every box that went into the truck.

They promised delivery within 20 days, but in fact, their dispatcher Cesar contacted me a few days after pickup to let me know that my stuff would be arriving only a week after pickup which was fantastic news. Sure enough, Austin and his team arrived Saturday morning and promptly unloaded all of our stuff. I'd definitely use them again.

My family highly recommends NorthStar Moving. Quick, hardworking, and professional. Went above and beyond.

Pros include pretty good price and they showed up on time. David A Came out and did an assessment and kept in contact until the day of the movers, he was wonderful The movers themselves were definitely challenged. They forgot to pack up 1/2 of a bathroom I'm just kind of threw anything anywhere, my wine glasses ended up in my hiking pack. Not the worst movers I've ever had but definitely not the best either

Awesome experience moving! It went way faster than we expected, nothing was damaged and the guys were super nice! We had Jonathan, Miguel and Adam. They were amazing. Highly recommend, they moved a very heavy and fragile antique item from the early 1900s with no problem at all. I am so relieved. Great experience overall.

The guys that came out were super nice and helpful. My move fell under their minimum fees because it was too light, but they were pretty careful even knowing that I was donating everything to a local thrift store. Showed up on time and delivered to the store. Would definitely use again!

Little to no communication, black box quoting process and inability to meet their own ridiculous delivery windows. I paid over $12K for my move and still have not received my items or even an ETA almost a month later. I had to call repeatedly to speak to someone and was informed they might not be able to meet their original delivery window, which. was already 2-4 weeks after the original pickup.

Their offer was a discount of $50 for each day they miss their delivery window (which was already a month after the pickup!), which is ridiculous in the grand scheme of what this move cost. Do not recommend. Update: Wendy, the COO, called to apologize for the lack of communication and delay on my delivery. While I am still disappointed at the time it has taken to complete the move and the lack of communication over the past several weeks, I am appreciative of Wendy's concern and desire to make things right. Updating my rating to 3/5 and will revisit after the move is completed.

Too expensive even for a small 1 bedroom. The employees were nice but I feel like they took their time to extend the cost.

I moved from Northern California to Austin and had amazing service from this company! First they zoom called with me to get the initial estimate communication was perfect when I had more items packed I let them know and we adjusted the estimate.day of pick up items were moved so fast wrapped amazingly great group of hardworking men that. picked up.

Upon delivery 2 weeks later (due to holidays ) I had another amazing group of hardworking men move items into the house unpack furniture and set it up. The process was stress free! I will never move myself again! I will always have North Star handle it! A+ on every part of the service they provided. Thank you again for making a very stressful move STRESS FREE!

Didn't have a good experience. Pros: Movers were polite and respectful. They were very careful not touching walls, etc, except for one of them who didn't seem like he knew what he was doing. Cons: - Took so much time wrapping furniture so meticulously - 2 guys were slacking while one guy was doing most of the moving - Deliberately slowing down so they can increase their rate Granted I should have called the manager and discussed it with it, but frankly I need a moving company where I don't even need to care about that

The 3 movers that were assigned to me - Johan G, Jorge G, and Agustin O - were amazing! They really hustled - to the point where I told them they should take a breather. They disassembled and reassembled a very large dining room table and master bed without any issues. The provided wardrobe boxes were also a godsend. The process of getting a quote was great.

I video chatted a representative so he could see how much stuff and large furniture I had, and I noted items that I'd like for them to dispose. All in all, the move ended up costing half of what was quoted to me, so don't be too scared what was quoted was a "maximum" not to be exceeded. Would definitely recommend again, especially if you get the same moving team I got!

We were very happy with Northstar Moving Compay. I called for an estimate and David came over, went through our house noting every piece of furniture, and gave me an estimate. He was very polite and knowledgeable. We accepted. 4 movers showed up as planned the day of our move. They were very professional and all wore masks. Kyle confirmed the few things we were leaving and they got to work right away.

They wrapped up the furniture that needed to be protected and nothing was broken. We have a lot of glass and I was very concerned but they were very careful. These guys worked extremely hard in the Phoenix sun. They did a great job and we highly recommend them!

I've used Northstar 4-times now and they always do a good job. Honest people who are attentive and loyal to their customers.

Worst experience ever! By the time they outsourced, the original quote went up +8000! I will report everywhere I can.

This company is an absolute nightmare! They hold zero accountability for their actions, or contracts. DO NOT hire. They are a bait and switch SCAM! I was lied too several times, and the supposed manager was extremely rude. They demanded almost triple the amount of money, upon delivery ( when they eventually arrived) that I had a SIGNED CONTRACT. printed out, with proof of deposit payment.

They disregard it completely. I was forced to pay what they demanded, to get my stuff back, and I was told, and I quote " well it is what it is, if you want your stuff, you have to pay this." Disgustingly unprofessional. Now having to sue to try to get some of my money back.

I rented a mover from this company until now my stuff is not delivered it's been 3 weeks. And the worst, I called them and they told me that someone is using their name and they have a law suit with the company I used. Now, where is my stuff?

Moving on up! That's right I moved into my dream home with the help of NorthStar Moving this last month. What a overall amazing customer service experience. From the fast quote response from Gabriella who was prompt to return my call and explained every detail possible to ensure I understand each process. Her follow through and check in prior to the move was right on time.

She was even easy to accommodate a last minute change in schedule due to my move out day being pushed back. Johnathon was the lead mover for my two man crew. He was professional over the phone and extremely friendly in person. He walked me through the process prior to moving anything. He also was very cautious on how he moved my valuable. Not one knick, scrape or broken item.

He moves fast, safe and securely. Once he was done prior to signing off he had me look over everything to make sure I was happy. Stacey in service made a follow call to make sure my experience was one worth returning. Absolutely I have recommend to three friends who are moving in the next 30 days. Definitely would use this service again if needed.

Is an incredible company. They worked with us on our Grand Opening furniture moving needs, and had the whole move done in less than 2 hours from pick up to drop off, downtown LA on a Thursday (rush hour traffic morning) to Woodland Hills. We literally didn't lift a finger, the moving boxes and items were gathered and left in impeccable condition.
