The price broken down for me changed once they moved the items to the new location. I was yelled at & not tested so nice! I called for help at their office and was talked to not good at all. I ended up paying a lot more than I was originally told. Very disappointed. I just like honesty! After trying to get a full understanding of how the price went so high, I was told if I didn't pay they would reload my items & take them to their warehouse. they left a few pieces on the truck to guarantee it paid them. once I paid they brought them

My experience with Superior Moving was a mixed bag. There were three major negative issues. I would not use the company again and I cannot recommend the company to others. First, the company promised in writing (and verbally) that the final charge was "GUARANTEED NOT TO EXCEED" the preliminary estimate. That was absolutely FALSE. After the move was completed, the supervisor (Angel) presented a final invoice that substantially exceeded the initial estimate.
We were charged over $1,000 OVER the estimate. The supervisor offered numerous excuses--saying that the job took more time than expected, that the estimator missed some things, and that the estimate did not include wrapping furniture being stored in the garage, etc. However, at no time before presenting the final invoice did anyone disclose that the moving charge would exceed the estimate or that the company was not going to honor its "guarantee not to exceed" promise.
Not wanting a dispute, I paid the excess charge. In hindsight, it seems that the "guarantee" is a bait-and-switch tactic. The company promises one thing to lure in the customer and then delivers something different after it was too late to go back. Second, before hiring the company, the estimator (owner's son) assured me that his crew would disconnect the washer and dryer and reconnect them at the new house.
The estimator assured me that his crew was qualified to perform that work as a routine part of the job. Unfortunately, the crew member who handled this aspect of the job mixed up the hot and cold water lines to the washer, he neglected to test the system after reconnecting it, and worse, he failed to connect the drain hose (leaving the drainage hose dangling behind the machine).
The unconnected drain hose caused a water situation--flooding the laundry room as well as the garage. It was distressing, time consuming, and resulted in costly water damage. If the company was not prepared to perform the reconnection job properly, they should not have done it at all and they should have told us so truthfully. They did not. The washing machine reconnection was an important part of the job and their negligence caused damage. Third, while dealing with the water flood emergency, I called the company and spoke with the owner, Jack, who speculated that there must be a problem with the washers in the hoses.
That wasn't the case. Jack then said that he would call the job supervisor and get back to me. The supervisor (Angel) called me back. Instead of offering assistance, Angel proceeded to tell me (without evidence) that there was a defect in the house's water hook ups--a baseless fabrication. Angel took no responsibility on behalf of his company and offered no help whatsoever.
When I pushed back on his nonsensical excuses, Angel hung up the phone on me--causing me more distress. The company's handling of this situation was inexcusable. It seemed that the culture of the company is to "blame the customer" and deny responsibility. Aside from those negative issues, I wish to acknowledge that during the move, the moving crew were polite, pleasant and hard working.
It is difficult work and my experience with the workers was positive. Unfortunately, the bad here far outweighs the good with this company. Bottom line: Five stars (+5) for the hard-working crew; lose two stars (-2) for false "not to exceed" promise; lose one more star (-1) for negligent connection of washing machine; lose one more star (-1) for blaming customer for company's workmanship error, lose one more star (-1) for being rude to customer dealing with flooding caused by company's workmanship error, and lose one more star (-1) for failing to accept responsibility for error and damage caused by company's workmanship error. If I could, the final rating for this company would be negative one star (-1), but the lowest possible Yelp rating is +1 star. There you have it.

My 87 year old mother arranged for Superior Economy Moving for her move from her house to an apartment. The office staff made it easy for her to make the arrangements. The movers, Francisco and Gary, showed up on time. They were professional and knowledgeable, pointing out pre-existing scratches etc. Very impressive and highly recommended.

Highly recommend! I will definitely be hiring Superior Economy Moving again any time I need movers. I have already recommended them to multiple friends who were also very satisfied with their services. They were kind, respectful of my property, efficient, and very well priced! I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Superior Economy Moving. Hire them! You'll be glad you did.

** Please read** If you are moving and not using this company you are making a huge mistake. They are honest, neat, efficient and have the BEST employees. Who would of thought moving would NOT be so stressful. Rob assisted use and went above and beyond to make this move successful. We appreciate it. They moved my neighbors too. They also had amazing service. Don't go anywhere else! Take it from me, this picky and hard to please lady.

We booked this company because of their excellent pricing. However, we have no prior experience moving and I tried to ask all the right questions before moving day to make sure we are fully prepared and that everything runs smoothly. I also informed them that I'm 9 months pregnant and due any day now, so we would probably need help packing up some lose items I couldn't lift.
When the movers arrived, they said that both of the spots we reserved for their truck were not going to work. They also told us everything would take 7-8 hours max, but then they changed it to 13-14 hours because of the parking situation and said that we would be charged 1.5x/hour after 8 hours. We were never informed of these potential changes in advance.
When I called the company to let them know what was going on they said these are obvious things we should have known and that it's not their responsibility to inform us. I was shocked by their lack of accountability and saw this as a big red flag. Ultimately, we decided to cancel the whole move for that day because if they were already refusing to take responsibility for these very important pieces of information we should've been given, they probably wouldn't take responsibility for anything else that happens during the move.

Moving can be incredibly stressful, especially during these Covid times. It's been 17 years since our last move so we were comparing movers and called three companies. Jack, the owner, came the same day we called and gave us a thorough, detailed, very reasonable, and guaranteed quote so we eventually chose Superior Economy Moving. Their communication was excellent, even when we had to reschedule our move four times due to escrow problems! Patient and understanding, their team was wonderful and gave wonderful customer service.

This group of movers are 2nd to none. They are professional and punctual. Best group of movers ever! 3 movers showed up and they didn't stop moving for over 7 hours, all business. They were very nice. Nothing was broken, everything was moved with care. Very friendly and willing to go the extra mile. 100% recommend this company. Thanks guys.

We had a wonderful experience with the crew from Superior Economy Moving! They were extremely professional, clean and friendly. They took such great care to ensure that our things were moved carefully and safely, and they loaded everything into our storage unit without an inch to spare! They worked efficiently and they kept us in the loop the whole time. We can not recommend them enough! Their rates were also some of the best around. Great work, guys! We will be using them again for sure!

This moving company was so great for my move. From the consultation phase with the owner Jack, to the 3 guys who showed up to make the move, all A+ service. The team that was assigned to the job was efficient and quick with their work. From the moment they arrived, it was straight to business. No wasting time, no lollygagging, just straight business. The team was careful in their work and I didn't have not one piece damaged. I would most definitely use this company again for my next move!

My sister hired Superior to pack her POD for an across country move and their work was excellent. They were on time, cared about the cargo as well as the house it was leaving, and was done so efficiently and quickly I decided to hire them for my local move. Again, they didn't disappoint! They took exemplary care with everything while working extremely quickly getting the job done ahead of schedule.
And I can't forget that the prices they charge are not only competitive, they beat the local competition. I will only use them in any future move and highly recommend them!

Superior Economy Moving is definitely SUPERIOR! A team of six men and two trucks moved us from our 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, second level Simi Valley home to our Oxnard home without a hitch! They arrived in Simi at 8:00am sharp and finished unloading in Oxnard at 2:30pm. They were super efficient, very careful, friendly and professional. I highly recommend Superior Economy Moving to anyone who wants their moving experience to be as painless as possible!

No one likes to move. I dread it more than most people, rank it down there as one of the worst experiences in life. However, any company that can move a 3 bedroom, 1,600 sf house in 8 hours flat, from "good morning" handshake to "thanks so much" handshake with zero breakage, minimal input or aggravation from me, deserves a huge thank you and kudos.
If it were up to me I would never move again. Ever. Knowing my wife, we probably will. And it gives me a lot of peace of mind to know that I can count on them when that time comes. The very best experience and truly the most economical moving company I've ever dealt with. Truly a business I can trust and I am glad to recommend them without reservation. Jack even said "welcome to Jurassic Park" for me. You'll understand when you meet him.

My husband hired Superior Economy Moving to handle our move almost a month ago, and we're pretty pissed that we paid so much for these movers. Below is an excerpt from my email to Jack, the owner, who has yet to respond; it's been about two weeks since I've contacted him and no response. "Quite a few of our things broke during the move (things that never broke when moved by professional movers in the past).
We had boxes full of glassware that were clearly labeled FRAGILE on our boxes, but for some reason, we noticed heavier boxes were stacked on the aforementioned glassware boxes. In fact, I had to indicate to [the first mover] and [the second mover] that the boxes were clearly labeled on each side (FRAGILE, bedroom, living room, kitchen, garage, bathroom, etc.) multiple times; I also wrote on TOP of the boxes as well, in case they missed it.
Some things that broke due to improper stacking include: dessert bowls that have been in my family for decades and beverage glasses we received as a wedding gift; as you can see, these are things have personal meaning to us and can't easily be replaced. One of the movers rolled our wheeled cart down a set of stairs and somehow dropped it/let it fall over on concrete steps.
Inside this cart was very expensive liquor and alcohol (easily hundreds of dollars worth); there were also two very fine bottles of wine that we purchased from out-of-town and could not simply repurchase from a local store. My mother witnessed the cart falling over twice. The incident was brushed off as no big deal when my mother confronted the mover about it. Also, when the elevator at our apartment complex was shut down due to a fire alarm, one of the movers complained about having to use the stairs throughout the duration of the move; it was very unprofessional from a consumer standpoint.
This was all before we even got to the new address. At the new apartment, [the first mover] and [the second mover] left multiple marks, dings, and scratches on our walls and doors. We expect a few minor dings here or there during a move, but the marks on the walls were simply due to, what I believe to be, carelessness. Again, more complaining about the stairs and how heavy the boxes were once the movers got to our new address.
We thought we made it clear that there would be stairs at both apartments. Some other general complaints about our service include: The length of time of our move. We've had professional movers finish packing/moving a two-story, 4-bedroom home in less time it took for [the first mover] and [the second mover] to move our 1-bedroom apartment. 9 hours to move a 1-bedroom apartment to a 2-bedroom apartment is, in our experience, very slow for professional moving.
After reading another Yelp review about your business, it appears that this is not an isolated incident? My husband, mother, and I all agree that the movers significantly slowed their pace early in the day, which wasn't fair to us because we believed it would take about 4-5 hours total -- not 9 hours. With regards to price, we were quoted something significantly less over the phone (~$400 though we do expect a higher cost at times), but at the end of the day, we paid almost double the quoted price due to slow movers, in addition to damaged goods [.]" I'm pretty sure I had a very similar experience to Tina B's. I, too, requested to be reimbursed for the damaged goods and walls/doors and it's been dead silent ever since. Given that the movers were nice gentlemen, that doesn't excuse sloppy moving at a glacial pace. Never again for us.
