I paid for this storage unit on time for YEARS and needed absolutely nothing from them. During that time my price went up twice. It is very difficult to reach a human being. The whole business is automated and won't even let you reply to their e-mails. If you call, you will not speak to a human being in the state of Maine, only the answering service.

I'm fine with that, but others may not be. I love dogs so I didn't mind at all, but If you are at all afraid of dogs, DO NOT get a unit here! A loose dog WILL run up and bark at you. There was a dead mouse in my unit which I cleaned up and didn't even mention, yet when I gave 15 days notice and a good review, I was still charged a random $25 fee after being a loyal customer for many years and giving plenty of notice.

The e-mail I received when I question the fee was pretty rude and snarky. On an earlier occasion, I was double charged and had to point it out and then wait a long time for a refund. I will say that this storage unit was temperature controlled and fit my needs. The customer service is lacking.

Talk about "intrusive" -this company, for just a quote needed; my phone # last name e'mail address, ,,, Just for a price quote; GET WITH THE PROGRAM, ,, TO A COMPLETE STRANGER, THIS COMPANY WAS WAY OUT OF LINE ASKING FOR MY PERSONAL INFORMATION, LIKE IT WAS COMMON PRACTICE. THEY R DEFINITELY OFF MY LIST FOR STORAGE, AND I M SURE MY FRIENDS WILL FEEL THE SAME WAY - THE BLATANT NERVE TO UNWAVERINGLY ASK WITHOUT ANY RESERVATIONS OR WITHOUT EVEN ASKING FOR PERMISSION TO SEE IF IT WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE OR IF I WOULDN'T MIND! AS IF!

Susan provided wonderful service from beginning to end. The facility is excellent. Very secure, very clean and well lit. There were a wide variety of size units to choose from. Definitely recommend contacting Freeport Storage first.

Removed my camper from storage in August. My camper sat in the grass on the edge of their driveway, next to the house. I had to call them to get the gate open to remove my camper. They are aware my camper is no longer in storage in their facility. September 15th I get a notification that they are charging my card for storage. I contacted them asking why I'm being charged for storage when my camper is not at their storage facility, and hasn't been for a month.

The answer, I didn't inform them I was not storing my camper there anymore. They refuse to refund the charge. Unethical, no integrity. If this is the way they take care of customers, steer clear.

Gate is finiky. Does not always open, which can really ruin your plans. Takes hours to get someone out. The phone number takes you to generic U-haul call centers. This is not an ideal situation, but the price is unbeatable.

This company is a joke. Whoever runs this place should quit so someone with experience can run it. Good luck getting a response from anyone except their answering service. They'll send requests, but it doesn't do any good. I've been locked out of the facility for 4 days because they failed to send me a code, after they charged my card. Dont waste your time!

The new manager is friendly and helpful. Very quick move in process and lots of security for my items!

I tried to rent a unit here and it was a waste of my time. I was told multiple times that I would receive a phone call back and never did. Then when I finally did and set up a contract, I was told I could come in a sign the contract at a certain time and that was not the case either. I just wish I knew because I would have gone somewhere else and not wasted what little time I had to move into a storage unit.
