Lanigan Storage and Van was founded by Edward J. Lanigan, Jr. in 1955 in Memphis, TN. Serving as a continuous interstate moving agent for Allied Van Lines, Lanigan also remains as one of the top Memphis moving companies. Edward Lanigan served as owner and president until his death in 1971. His sons, Edward "Jay" Lanigan and Dick Lanigan, assumed the ownership of the company until Dick's retirement in 2000 and Jay's death in 2007. The company has been qualified as a Woman Business Enterprise since 2007 as a professional Memphis moving company.
As reputable movers in Memphis, LANIGAN Worldwide Moving is continually called upon by various charities and community agencies to assist in their relocation, storage, and related needs in Memphis and throughout the U.S. Over the years, LANIGAN Worldwide Moving has offered its services to deliver relief supplies to victims of hurricanes, collecting, storing and delivering donated furniture for families in transition for Agape Child & Family Services, toys to needy children for the Hope Foundation, and assisted in the distribution of food for Memphis Interfaith Association (MIFA).

The rep (Patrick) who gave us the quote was informative and great to work with. The movers who packed the furniture were meticulous in protecting each piece for transport. They were a pleasure to work with. The delivery men worked very hard to get the furniture in place and removed all the packing debris. The furniture arrived with only one piece slightly damaged and the insurance claim was easy to file and the damage is being repaired. The repair man is confident it can be repaired and will not be noticeable. An all around great experience.

We hired what we thiught would be a professional company to move us from north MS to GA in July. They showed up in a small truck when we expected an 18 wheeler and crammed our things in. Long story short, it is Novemver and they just finished repairing all if the repairable damage a week ago and still have not paid for the ite.s that were broken beyond repair. We are now in the middle of moving back to north MS and will be moving ourselfs. You know the old saying, no one will care for your stuff more than you do.

This moving experience has been one of the best of my 23 years as a Navy spouse, moving all over the country. The team was very proficient, professional, and respectful. They took great care in making sure all Covid procedures were in place and followed. My move was fast and efficient. All of my items arrived in the same condition they left in. I would recommend this company and their employees to anyone. From the office staff to the transportation staff- AMAZING SERVICE!

Packing and loading was very efficient and well done. Also quicker than I thought it would take. Travel took more time than would have liked. I had a deadline to move in and the truck didn't arrive until the very last day. The driver was very nice and for one person he moved fast and finished fairly quickly. All and all it was a great experience for me. I didn't worry once during the move. Pretty good for a single, senior lady moving across the country by myself! I would use them again but I plan to settle here for good.

We used Lanigan's for moving houses with a stop to drop off and pick up items at a storage unit. They are very organized, efficient and careful! I highly recommend them. Our moving crew also was very friendly and made our move fun with their cheerful attitudes. I cannot believe how great they were with moving heavy furniture, appliances and all our boxes. Cannot say enough good things about our experience with them. Will definitely use them next time we move!

Lanigan Worldwide Moving did a fantastic job of packing and loading our furniture in Memphis. Everyone that was there was very professional, friendly and helpful. I just wish that they could have taken those guys with them to unload! In VA, our truck driver had a meeting with the guys before they started and told them what he expected of them. They were friendly and were very careful with our furniture. However, they did not listen to me or read what I had put on the boxes as to which room they went to.
Somehow I don't think that boxes labeled dishes belong in the upstairs bedroom and boxes labeled clothes don't belong in the garage. We had more boxes in wrong rooms than were where they were supposed to be. I think that the guys on the Memphis end would have done better (and looked more professional also)!

They did a great job from day one. Our agent was the only company willing to come to our home to provide a quote for the move. We had a full load greater the 20,000 lbs. Our move was from Mississippi to PA and they got there on time and delivered on time. We packed nearly everything and they packed the kitchen, dining room and all large pictures and valuables.
We had no damage except for our garden tractor hood got scuffed Otherwise all other goods delivered as packed. We were very satisfied Mitzi and Chris are a pleasure to work with. They kept us informed and did what they said and what was needed to make the move a success. We were also able to get used boxes for our packing in advance. The team a the headquarters in Memphis was very helpful and offered additional support during our visit.
I hoped our cost was lower but Lanigan provided a not to exceed price in the contract. I hoped we would receive a lower final price after delivery as promised by Mitzi our coordinator. Still waiting a call for final closure on claim filed for minor damage experiences afte 2 weeks. All in all we had a good experience and successful move.

The people at Lanigan (from the sales rep to the movers) were very professional and extremely helpful. We moved on very short notice and they were very accommodating. The the men who actually packed and moved our furniture were very careful and thorough and so very nice. Everything arrived at our new home on schedule and nothing was damaged. It was the best moving experience I have ever had. I highly recommend Lanigan.

We hired Lanigan/Allied for an interstate move this summer. After getting 4 quotes, Allied gave us the best rate. Their setup was a little different from what we've experienced before in that they have the first crew arrive on day 1 to pack everything and then have the movers arrive on day 2 to load the truck. It took only 5 days from loading to delivery in our new house (approximately 1,000 miles). Overall, our experience was quite good.
The movers on both days were thorough and considerate. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone in the Memphis area who is planning an interstate move. Nothing was broken, nothing was missing. All of our belongings were packed well. Mitzi Lyne, our Lanigan rep, was very helpful and answered all of my questions without delay.
