There is a "manager type" there with blonde hair who was VERY rude and disrespectful to me upon my first time ever even meeting her. I called a few times to keep them in the loop on when I was coming because I thought that i could possibly get there earlier. I had already set my initial arrival time between 4:45-5:30 prior to my arrival date. I did arrive at right 4:45pm as we originally set.
This woman was very unprofessional and outright nasty towards me because she was so worried about me being there past their cutoff time of 5:30pm which I was well aware of. I knew that I didn't have that much stuff and that it would not take that long. We only had two carts of stuff for a 5x5. She panicked and acted out in a manner that I know for sure she would not have, had I had been someone who looked like her, when I was trying to make small talk in the elevator with her.
She told me that she should charge me for being late even though I was there at 4:45. She does not need to be in this position if she is going to act that nasty towards someone who is paying them money. Now is definitely not the time for this kind of behavior and I checked her on the spot but she needs to be corrected because I know I'm not the only one she's been this way with. She was also rude to my friend who was helping me. We walked out of there at 5:15.

We have had a storage unit outside of the downtown area for years and finally decided to move it closer to us to provide us the convenience of visiting our stuff when we needed to without having to rent a truck and drive way out there. It was a miracle when we found East Bank! Not only was the staff, Linda & Jose, the nicest but the property itself was worth 5 stars. Clean, many carts to carry your stuff, carpet throughout (what?), climate controlled, and the loading dock is very convenient, but the topper is the location. IDEAL! Especially, if you are like us and live only blocks away. What's more important to us, considering we were in our old unit for 9+ years, is the fact that East Bank DOES NOT raise your storage fee after you move in for ONE YEAR.GUARANTEED! WOW! We would highly recommend this storage facility to everyone. Stop by and check it out before you settle for another. Thank You Jose & Linda! Thank You East Bank!

East Bank Storage on West Lake Street is great! It is clean, extremely well kept, and safe. I sleep well at night knowing that my belongings are safe and sound. And thank you Linda and Mike for being so awesome. Trust me, I did a lot of research visiting other storage facilities, and it was an easy decision to go with this company.

The BEST! The people who work at East Bank storage are fabulous! Linda is great! And all the guys are so helpful! It's clean, easy to get in and out of if you are going into your storage areas, and a parking lot too! The prices are very competative and I guess I you can say I have been really pleased all the way around! Taking a look I am not the only one who feels they deserve 5 stars! A happy customer of East Bank Storage!

This was my first time to use self storage and East Bank Storage was first class. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and their rates couldn't be beat. They tried to save me money as opposed to up selling me. I would absolutely recommend them to anybody looking for storage in West Loop.

Just graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago - I needed a place to store my art work and East Bank Storage was just the place! They were VERY helpful and even lowered the price a bit for me because they didn't have the original sized space that I was intending on getting. Linda Gonzalez, the manager, was so nice and even helped me find my cell phone one day when I lost it in my storage space!

I did my homework and checked out all the wine Storage facilities in the Chicagoland area and I'm glad to say that I have over 500 bottles stored at East Bank storage. Not only was the price better than everyone else, the facility is temperature controlled, secure and the staff was very helpful. They receive my wine shipments and place straight to my unit. Thank you Linda and Mike of East Bank storage.

I just love these guys. I've been storing with them a few months, and it's been wonderful. I have also stored with Life Storage (the nearby, fancier facility) and here's a comparison: East Bank comparison: (+) The people make the business. Gordana is amazing and really nice. Tony is always wonderful. Petko is really sweet and won't let me even touch boxes because I'm pregnant.
They feel like friends of the family. (+) Because Gordana, Tony, and Petko make you feel like family, the other people around you are really great too. They return carts, chat with you when you run into each other. (+) Service is great. They received a ton of packages for me and held them without giving me crap. The setup is really intelligently done -- esp the big elevators (2 of them) and the spots where 4(!) trucks can drive up and load/unload. (+) Great value. (-) Hours are more limited (-) No temperature control (a real problem for the upper floors - really hot in summer).
Life Storage comparison: (+) Longer hours, because of the cool electronic log in system (+) Staff is also really nice, but clearly corporate and not such a family-feeling (+) Temperature control (-) Other people can be rude. They leave carts all over the place and don't put them back. Not such a sense of responsibility. (-) More expensive (-) Layout is not as intelligent as EBS (one small elevator, one move-in spot for trucks, long distance between unloading and elevator).

I'm selling my house and in preparation, needed to "de-clutter." I didn't want to part with my precious things, so I looked for a storage facility. From my email requesting pricing and availability to the day I brought in my things for storage, the process was super easy. Gordana is amazing; she's helpful and straightforward and her assistant, Patek (sp?) is great too! You need look no further, these guys are the best!

This review is focused on East Bank's wine storage facilities and is based on my experience storing wine there over the past few months. Admittedly, that's not very much time given that I expect to leave bottles there for a decade or more, but there does seem to be a dearth of information on Yelp about wine storage in Chicago. East Bank provides very affordable, no-frills wine storage.
Their wine "lockers" are all on the same floor, which is below ground level. The lockers themselves are constructed out of wood frames and slats. I haven't tried to measure the temperature on any of my visits, but they seem to have all the right equipment to maintain a proper temperature - including ceiling mounted cooling units and fans throughout the space.
They also sprinkle water on the floor to keep the humidity at the appropriate level (seems like a humidifier would be a safer bet for avoiding slip and fall situations, but that's just the lawyer in me talking). Lights are motion activated. Smaller lockers are laid out with one on top of the other. When I went to get a unit, it looked as though most of the top lockers are taken.
But even the bottom lockers have wooden pallets at their base, so barring a pretty massive flood, a spill or water leak in the facility shouldn't ever rise to the level of your wine. Everyone I've met has been friendly, the space is clean and well maintained, and I've always been able to pull directly up to a loading dock. They have plenty of wheeled carts and a gigantic freight elevator to take you down to the wine storage floor.
I now have all my wine shipped to East Bank directly and they've been very good about emailing me when it arrives (they hold it in climate controlled storage until I come to move it to my storage locker - I believe they will also put received wine directly in your unit if you authorize it). Really the only negative I can think of is that they close pretty early each day; you can't just swing by if you suddenly decide you want to take a bottle with you on your way to dinner or friend's house. That's really not an issue if you're using the space to store wine that you're not going to touch for years.

Started using East Bank Storage (river north location) earlier this summer and it's been a good experience. The place seemed clean, it's in a very convenient location, and moving in was a cinch with lots of parking and multiple loading docks that weren't busy when I moved in on a Saturday afternoon. They also have carts, dollies, and rolling bins that you can use to move your stuff from the loading dock to your storage space. Gordana, the woman that manages the place, was friendly and helpful, but she was also efficient - got my lease signed and showed me to my unit quickly without a lot of wasted time.
She also helped unload my vehicle at the loading dock. They sell packing supplies if you need them and a few other moving related items. You'll need your own lock, and they can sell you a keyed padlock, but I went to ACE and bought a combo lock. The only thing I would change is the hours. Would be nice if they were open a little later.

I have stored at a few storage facilities, and one thing to keep in mind is service! If you need someone to pick up an item, leave something big outside for a few days, etc, Gordana and the staff are outstanding! They go the extra mile to help out! This is a place to store your items! You will not be disappointed!

Stopped by today to get some books from storage. I ran into Gordana! She is the best. Very honest. Very open. Very kind. You don't go to a storage company expecting to find personable service. But that's exactly what I found here. Sorry for being so gung-ho. Y'all are probably thinking why am I so spastic-ally raving about this storage place. You will know exactly why, if you use their service (and you will appreciate them even more if you ever have experience using other storage companies).

I have been a tenant of EBS for years now. They go over and above making sure they sign for packages, manage mail, and most importantly make sure my stuff in storage is accessible at all times.even when I forget my key, they have the spare and can retrieve it within seconds upon my arrival. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to lend a hand when needed.
Just yesterday, they stayed late as I needed a package, but couldn't there until 10 minutes after they close. This is THE place to store your stuff, keep a mailbox, etc.

When in doubt about many things in life, its good to know that your mail has a place it can be delivered to and wont get left out in the cold or the rain, or be kicked around your lobby of your building or even folded up 37 times to be shoved into the tiny copper sleeve many apartments like to call your mailbox. Out searching for a mailbox (googling away) and I found on the BBB website this tiny little business called East Bank Storage which has been around since 1980.
That was a good sign, then there is something I like to say my warm and fuzzy first phone call (they passed with flying colors answering all of my questions patiently), and lastly the price is unbeatable. Now for many of us looking for mail service we would presume that we want 24 access for those late night treks after the bar and a few burritos and you get an itch to check your mail, well you wont have that here.
They do give you access to your mailbox 7 days a week during business hours and not only that but you get to talk to some of the sweetest and prettiest women in the mail business.
