Thriftee Mini Storage

I'd recommend this storage facility over any other; albeit it's not 'fancy'. I trusted & still trust the judgement of the employees here when it comes to the size of the storage unit needed; in particular, Sonya. It's unbelievable how honest this business is, in this day & age of malfeasance & misfeasance. I stored my belongings here for 6 months; no bugs, no vermin. period.

Check this establishment b4 storing w/any other, when you're needing storage for "mini" items. Call Sonja. I was a real paying customer.no BS. BTW. their prices are reasonable too.

These people are the best. Family owned and operated, sweet, and very helpful. Give them your money, you won't be disappointed! I wish all businesses were run this way!

A storage that is extremely expensive because of demand according to them.

These guys gave me the wrong U-Haul truck and by doing so I got charged for 2 separate booking My rid and another party that I don't know, totaling $1,500.- I booked a one way too another state and when I arrived we found out this was not my truck, I called the facility at 1717 Glendale BL and they said "leave the F. keys on the table and leave" The U-Haul place I wanted to drop of the truck could not take receipt of the vehicle as it was the wrong truck. It caused me hours to fix this and I just found out the people that got the truck that was meant for me dropped it of and I got charged for that rental too!

One of our favorites for over 45 years. Smoked tuna and salmon a must in our family on Christmas eve.

Honest, flexible, didn't tell to oversell me. in fact, I wasn't sure what size I would need and they let me try my stuff in the smaller space and then said If I need a bigger one you could just switch it over. Super helpful. Good price.

My wife and I rent a unit here. We have had no issues during our time here. Always a spot for us to park which is great. It is tough to get in and out of the area so be warned. Busy street.

Felipe and the staff are very helpful in getting you the right unit for your needs. Prices are fair, place is safe and they have uhual vans available for rent.

I have had other experience with storage places but this one was by far the best one yet. Philippe and Sonja are very friendly and make you feel like family. They are also helpful, professional, and you feel safe with your stuff there. I've used them for 4 months, The only reason I am leaving them is because I have a ton of stuff and need a HUGE unit. I recommend this place and if i downsize my things and need storage I'll be coming back to them!

We've used this place for storage and to rent U-Haul vans and trucks, and they are shockingly ON POINT. Friendly, generous, and efficient service, reasonably priced. Felipe is a great guy. I never write Yelp reviews, but I've been marveling at how awesome these folks are and felt it would be a small way to repay their on-pointness. If only every business had this much pride and this level of excellence, life would be so much more easy and pleasant.

I have had the pleasure of using Thriftee for moving twice now in LA and both times have been nothing but a positive experience. Outstanding customer service by people who truly care about you and your needs. Fun, funny, and overwhelmingly kind staff have made me a loyal customer for this establishment. Can't recommend enough!

Felipe and his staff were always friendly and helpful. The facility was convenient to get in and out of. The price was right. I'd definitely use them again.

I will never go to this place again, which is unfortunate because it's by far the closest place to rent a U-Haul. They made a mistake noting the initial mileage of the truck I had rented and tried to overcharge me by about $30. When I pointed this out, showing them on my phone the address that I had driven to and straight back from (my house is on the way back to the drop off point, half a mile away) they pulled some super sneaky nonsense, entering a different point of origin into Google maps on their computer to make it look as though I had driven many miles further than I had, tried to insist that it was my fault, and when I wasn't having it tried to laugh it off.

The whole thing left a really bad taste in my mouth and has cost them my business. I'd avoid this place, or if for some reason you have to deal with them, watch your ass and write everything down. $30 is a lot for a stupid mistake.

We used them for paper shredding and they were reasonable, friendly, and speedy. Highly recommend!

Is there any way you can give this place half a star? Horrible service and the hours of operation make no sense! I definitely do not recommend this place.

I would highly recommended Thriftee Storage in the 5 years I have used them they have always been accommodating friendly and offer the lowest prices all around. If you need a storage space, a rental vehicle, shred documents or want to know the history of Echo Park call them first you won't be disappointed!

Terrible service. Was okay storage (even with the weird hours.) I was told I would be emailed a password to pay online but wasn't- only to have them sell my things. Sonia wasn't helpful and continuously called me by the wrong name- which probably explains a lot of the lack of communication and overall bad service. Just go to Public Storage- it's around the same price anyway and a lot less of a headache and you might get to keep your stuff!

Great place to rent Uhaul trucks. Every time I reserve they always have what I need, convenient location through Glendale Blvd. trucks are well maintained. Employees are very helpful and friendly, keep up the great work! Will continue coming and doing business with.

Good Customer Service! Amazing prices, do not overcharge you at all. Help you pick the right size needed and are on top of following up with you! Will use them again if I need to!

I needed an affordable storage place immediately yesterday and was lucky they had one available. NO hidden charges, very efficient, and very customer friendly! I also rented a van very inexpensively from them to move my belongings quickly. Found them on yelp and liked their 4.5 star review. Thank you, yelp. I even look forwad to seeing the Thriftee Storage Co. staff today!

So upset at these guys, and will never use them again on principal. I was running behind on picking up my Uhaul because packing was taking longer than expected. I called 5 times between 10:45am and 11:45am just to keep them informed that I was running late and would still be there. At 11:45 I spoke to a woman who said, "Don't worry, it'll still be here." Showed up an 12:15 to get it. Turns out they close at noon! In spite of my ridiculous efforts to make sure we got the truck, no one felt the need to inform me they were closing? Really screwed up my move.

I am very disappointed that Yelp filtered my review. Please see below. I would never recommend this company to any one. I have been renting trucks from this company for the passed 8 years. They rented me a truck that somebody had clearly urinated on the front seat and they refused to give me any kind of refund. It was disgusting. They clearly knew that somebody had pissed on the front seat and tried to pass it off to a customer. I will never go back there.

I recently needed a storage unit for the first time ever. Absolutely terrified of how to know I was picking the right place, I yelped and came across thriftee. I have nothing negative to say! They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable! When I decided I needed to rent a truck too, they helped me get it in and out of the tight spots (the parking lot is a little tight, but the side street has parking too if you need it).

When it came time to move my things in, I didn't have anyone to help me (there was a last minute change in time) and I had a love seat, mattress, and dresser to get up a flight of stairs. Not only were the staff members helpful, but so were the other renters- not something you experience all the time in LA! I definitely know I made the right decision in storage and renting a truck!

I had a space for about a month here while I was transitioning from living in an apartment to being homeless. Rented a truck from em & carted it all down there from NoHo. They let you drop the truck & key off after hours without charging anything extra which is nice, since they close at 6pm Monday through Saturday. The people who run the place are very friendly and accommodating. Considering that I wasn't planning on moving into another spot and couldn't afford to keep paying rent, I was in there organizing and going through my stuff all the time.

They play nice selections of classical music and jazz standards kinda stuff and it provides a nice soundtrack if you gotta be in there a lot. This place is right across the street from a Public Storage facility, and honestly you'd have to be a damn fool to go to PS instead. Thriftee is independently run by nice people and you don't have to look very far to find horror stories about how PS has sucked. Go here if you need space in Echo Park!
