In 1979 David Edelstein and his family moved from Long Island, New York to a 20 acre farm located on the outskirts of Bellingham, Washington. David established Greenbriar Construction and envisioned locating the company's offices on the farm close to his family. After 3 years in Bellingham, the self-confessed lover of machinery - anything on tires, tracks or wheels - decided to venture into the house moving business.
Mover correlates the route with the utility companies, police and fire departments, and public works. A prime mover tractor is attached via a hydraulically controlled bolster beam mounte on the fifth wheel link of the tractor. A day and time to move structure is determined by Movers to be one that minimize business disruption.
How do you know what can be moved and what can't? There are no real physical limitations to what Whatcom House Movers can move. An individual should consider the condition of the structure to be moved or raised and after a conversation with the house mover regarding the scope of the project determine at what point the project retains its value enough to justify it being moved or raised.
