Moving & Storage Solutions of Bellingham provides local moving services throughout the Washington state area. As an interstate agent for Arpin Van Lines, our company also provides long distance, world-wide moving and storage services as a member of a large network of quality committed agents. We specialize in cross border Canada moving.

Costs are determined by the type of move being performed: Local Moves or Long Distance Moves. Local Moves - are charged on an hourly basis depending on the number of men and trucks necessary to complete the move. As movers, they are better than most. They rescheduled us twice, at my request, with no issues. The people who pack and load actually work for them and are responsible folks. Call the office enough times, and you'll realize they are all related or have worked at the company for over a dozen years, rare in an industry where the person you talk to today is replaced by someone else tomorrow.
They were prompt, and did a decent job. The only caveat is that we haven't unpacked yet, so we'll see if anything got broken. Cost-wise they are about average or a bit better than most. The one downside is their financial opacity. They won't break down their bills. Instead you get a lump sum offer and have to take it or walk. For example, we bought our own moving blankets to use.
My past experience with moving, and being quite allergic to some animals, is that I really do not want all the boxes in my new freshly cleaned house to be covered in pet dander someone else's pet left on the blankets. Weeks of itching and wheezing are not fun. I got charged for five sets of paper pads used to supplement my blankets. Only three were used.
After talking to Dave, the head honcho, he said he reimburse me for supplies not used. Hasn't happened yet. Dave strikes me as the kind of guy who is trying to keep a small Mom and Pop business afloat, and I'd guess he has to be careful spending money on his folks or giving money back. My gut says if you need to recover funds for a damaged load, or something else that is their responsibility, Dave may be a bit difficult. So plusses, consistent people with accountability, on-time, do what they say, and moderately efficient. The downsides, well, Dave, I'm still waiting for my blanket money.

I have never used a moving company and this was the best experience they helped me all the way through. Moving was a breeze with them and very inexpensive! Had extra boxes for me that I was able to pack and unpack so they can take these huge boxes. Didn't have to take anything out the drawers they got it all!. They were also able to move my moving day last minute a long distance move.
I also set up the whole thing over the phone. I am so happy with this company I could cry! Shout out to Josh and Morgan and whoever else was on the phone cause she saved me a panic attack!

I'm not often moved to write customer service reviews, but these guys did such a great job I feel compelled to. From start to finish, they were responsive, helpful, and kind. I needed a full service move (packing, moving, storage). They gave me a reasonable quote, scheduled the move, and then showed up on time with a 4th mover for free. Which meant they got the packing and move done faster than expected. Totally stress free for me.

So many businesses don't understand the concept of customer service these days. This isn't one of those! I rented a Penske truck through M&SS and from the first minute I stepped in the office, they did everything they could to take the stress out of the move. It started with their 2-dog welcoming committee that greeted me with tail wags and kisses.
In less than 20 minutes, I had a contract signed and was on my way. Lloyd was amazing! He stayed after hours, waiting for me to return with the loaded truck so he could attach the car hauler and ensure everything was set up correctly before I hit the road. It's an amazing company I can't recommend highly enough!

This company was terrific. We have moved several times in the past with some very bad experiences. But these movers were great loading and unloading, the delivery was as scheduled, they were careful with the goods (no breakage) and the management was accurate with the billing. Recommend always reading and understanding the contract ahead of time, no exception. But this company is honest and we highly recommend them for longer moves out of state.

My initial contact with Stan the estimator and Mary, the office administrator, was great. Both were courteous, professional, and responsive. However our positive experience quickly turned negative on moving day. Initially we were quoted 4 guys and 2 trucks. Before our move we sold a number of items and asked for one truck and 3 guys. On move day the movers showed up late, in a undersized truck.
Even the lead mover said they arrived with the wrong sized truck. Nevertheless, after I walked them through and specified the items to go with them, the movers did not prioritize the heavier items from the boxes and left behind a number of heavy items we then had to move ourselves the next day. Our previous move with Iron Man, while not optimal, took 2 guys less time to move more items, than it took 3 guys with Moving and Storage to move less items.
While they may pride themselves on trained staff, first thing in the AM I caught one mover attempting to stand up with my heavy sewing machine perched on top of two other boxes. I asked him to stop but he stood up anyway and the sewing machine toppled and banged into the ground. It is now in repair with extensive damage to the machine. They also damaged our dining table edge in two separate places (despite wrapping it in plastic and a blanket) and they dented our cedar chest along with nicks and pings on a few other pieces of furniture.
It took over 9 hours to move, because they did not listen to our driving instructions and took an extra hour driving around "looking for us." Very disappointing experience and would never ever hire this company again. Swans Moving and Storage costs more, but there is a reason why.you get what you pay for.

The office staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. They called and checked to see how our preparation for moving was going about a week before move, that was nice. The men who helped were careful polite and got the job done in a timely manner. We have used this company several times and are very happy with their service and integrity Sincerely, Candy jones
