I am talking about the New Jersey company ez-mover.com here. We contacted for a quote, and found out he did not have a moving truck (just vans) He said "no problem I will get a rental for the move". One week from our move he said he was sorry he couldn't move us because "he did not want the hassle of having to get a truck." The website represents them as a moving company! Not a "man with a van" who does not want the "hassle" of getting a moving truck to have to do your full family move out.

My experience is a tale of late arrival, stolen items, arrests on the job, a broken truck and damaged furniture. I had to file a complaint with ICC and fight tooth and nail after what any objective person would agree was a terrible move. Even if it were FREE, I wouldn't use them. There were TOO many things that happened to give the company the benefit of the doubt on its practices and services to its customers. 1.
Worker arrested - had to bond a worker out of Dupage County jail to finish my 3 man move. This is after the truck was completely searched by police, on my clock (by the hour) and someone else's items that were reported as stolen by the workers were recovered (a specified amount of money in certain bills was also recovered). No one (of the 3 workers) remembered putting the stolen items in the truck so the police didn't arrest anyone for that but 2 of 3 men names were ran (the 3rd/foreman refused to provide his), and one had a warrant. 2.
The moving truck would NOT go faster than 25-30 mph during a 30 mile multi stop move with interstate travel. 3. Add to that movers arrived two hours AFTER my window, tired and taking extended breaks after each item was place in the truck. 4. The movers said they were out of blankets and shrink wrap from the moves earlier in the day. We had to buy some and use household items to protect our furniture. 5.
Ultimately half of my items stayed on the truck overnight and it turned in to a 2 day move. I was still charged, not having a choice because they had possession of my items and after the theft incident of someone else and having no inventory sheet, I didn't want to be the next victim while fighting over hourly charges due to their delay and staff issues. BTW, they didn't want to bond the guy out or send a third person out to finish the job.
They also refused to drop the hourly rate to two men when we lost one and were against the clock, so we bonded the guy out. 6. The foreman tried to get me to sign a blank release after everything that happened. I refused and was told they could've charged me for storing the items overnight. When I pointed out they arrived two hours late, the police search unrelated to my move took 45 min, the broken truck added 1.5 hours to our cost, the bond out of their employee in Dupage took an hour and storage was closed --- nothing was said. 7.
My light colored sofa was damaged and dirty. I told the foreman, he said what I should use to clean it and it'd come right out. It didn't and he didn't report it so it was a word v word incident. To top it off, there was never an apology.

Trash Company! Don't even waste your time.they're scammers and lost registration with the BBB and they aren't certified wIth the Dept. of Transportation! Total frauds and I'm ecstatic they're out of business! You punks also still owe me for my television y'all destroyed and all of my broken items! Good riddance!

They are scam. Think twice before hiring them. 1-) The job was subcontracted to a different moving company without my consent and discussion. The persons who came to pick up items did not introduced correctly. I had a contract with E-Z Movers, they were supposed to pick up my items between 08/22 to 08/24. However on Friday 08/23 on my call, they informed me that can not make it on Saturday and would be able to pick up the items next week.
However I was flying to GA on 08/26 2am. The contact person told me that he will call back after discussing with his management. On my call in the evening they told me that they will pick up the items on Sunday 08/25. They did not inform me that the job has been subcontracted. When the movers came to my house for the pickup, they introduced as E-Z Movers.
After they picked up all the items, gave me new bill and asked for full payment. The invoice was from Southern Van lines. Then upon my asking, I was told that they got the job and I need to pay them in full. They also added Fuel Charges and Material charges for approx of $400/- (a little less). Upon some argument, I gave them $400/- so that I get sometime and talk to E-Z Movers about it. 2-) Incorrect contact (sub contractor) was provided.
The invoice I got after the pickup had incorrect contact info of Southern VanLines. Later I found out that the moving was done by Sunshine (something, dont have the full company details as I was never told). 3-) Payment Terms were violated. Per my contract with E-Z movers. I had to pay 25% initially which I did, then 75% via credit card on pickup and remaining in cash on delivery.
After the pickup, I was asked to pay in full in cash. Upon argument I paid $400 in cash as that was my last day and wanted to talk to E-Z Mover about the situation. 4-) Unauthorized / discussed charges. I was charged approx $400 for fuel surcharge and materials (187.12 + 100.50 to be exact). They hold up items and asked me to pay first the full amount including the disputed ones.
I called E-Z Movers on 08/30 and emailed them about the situation. I was asked to pay the amount and get my items. E-Z Movers agreed to reimbursed the unauthorized charges. I paid the remaining amount and got my items on 09/07 5-) Items and property (delivery) was damaged. The items were handled very unprofessionally and lot of them were damaged significantly.
The property was damaged too. The delivery driver told me that he does not work for the company and dont care about any damage. 6-) Delay and No-response on claim from E-Z Movers and/or their partner. The claim for damages and reimbursement of unauthorized charges were submitted on 09/10 (or so) but did not receive any update and proper response.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST COMPANY IVE EVER DELT WITH! This company has no integrity at all! They don't care about your belongings, they don't follow their own contracts, they don't return your calls and their employees tell you lies as if they're trained to do so! I will never ever use this company again! I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy!
My belongings arrived broken, missing, with water damage and a hole was even put in my couch! This company needs to be shut down! No wonder they are no longer BBB accredited!

Firs time using them. Three of them came for a 2 hour move. The "head" guy had a bad vibe in the beginning. I actually packed ahead and moved out all of my expensive jewels and handbags. I'm talking Cartier, Rolex, van Cleef and my many Chanel bags. Because I don't trust strangers. The only box I left was of luxury designer shoes. I have couple thousands dollars worth of shoes in there. 600+ a pair shoes.
And I labeled the box "luxury shoes". So I can pick out the box easier. When they stuffed all of my belongs in the storage, I noticed they didn't bring out my box with all of my luxury shoes! And I asked the main guy about it.! And he told me I never saw it! Are you sure? He made me second guess myself. I said I was sure! You took all of the boxes!
So I went down and talked to another guy. And he jumped in the truck as I did too! And it was left behind in the truck! Omg if I didn't keep an eye for that box. I'm not sure i would get it back!

Absolutely terrible. I booked them for a move in the beginning of August. They never showed up, and getting my $100 deposit back was a chore! When I initially called to price out my move, I didn't book right away. Kevin called me 3x in the following days saying they had plenty of slots and asking if I still wanted to book. I felt very pressured every time he called.
I finally did book with them about 4 days later and paid the $100 deposit. They were supposed to show up between 12-2pm on that Saturday. I tried calling a few times once it got to 12:30 - 1:00, but got no answer. Finally at 2, someone picked up. It sounded like Kevin, but I was too frustrated to even ask for a name. He told me they didn't have a reservation for me!
I gave him my name, and the confirmation codes on the booking email and the security deposit email. He said they still had no reservation for me. He said it was "a glitch in the system" and that this "happens sometimes." He was totally monotone and not apologetic in ANY WAY. He didn't offer to remedy the problem, and said the movers were booked that day and wouldn't be showing up.
Totally insane. I literally had to tell him "you haven't even apologized once" Before he gave a reluctant "yeah, I'm really sorry but our system does this sometimes." This company totally screwed me over and wasted an entire weekend. My entire apartment was packed up and I had to pay $200 extra to find a mover for the next day. I told them I wanted my $100 security deposit back and to send confirmation that it had been refunded, and all he said was "ok." I had to call every day for 4 days (Sunday - Wednesday) to get my deposit back.
They kept telling me Kevin handles that and he wasn't in the office so he'd call me back. Not surprisingly, I never heard from him. Finally, on that Wednesday a woman answered and told me my deposit had already been refunded the night before. Clearly they had no intention or calling me back or relaying that information to me. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

DO NOT HIRE I guess I should have checked Yelp before hiring them. They were in such a hurry that they were not careful. Many things, including the walls and doorways in my never-lived-in apartment, were scratched and dented. I explained the time restrictions on the elevators many times to many people and I was still yelled at that they had to follow the building rules. Worst of all, a large expensive mirror and large plant were both missing after they left.
I checked the truck when they were leaving and didn't see anything left. I have since been in touch many times and although my belongings were located and promised to be dropped off to me, I still don't have them. It's been almost 6 weeks. They might be cheap but now I know why. Really disappointed in their service.

These guys are the worst! They quote one price then charge a higher price. They promised delivery by a certain date on a long distance move and showed up a week later. They lost part of my daughter's bed frame. They refuse to take responsibility for anything and they lie about things. Horrible customer service!

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. This is my first review and I'm writing it because I had THAT bad of an experience and want to warn others. Only one of the movers, Russell, actually did his job and a great one at that. The other two movers I had were slow, kept dropping things, scraping walls (at one point, the guy laughed after I saw him do it and wiped his sleeve which left a stain and made it look even worse), and dragging furniture so it ruined the wood floors.
It was a BRAND new apartment and definitely didn't look that way when they were done. I looked past all the wall dings and scratches, but then they chipped the side of our porcelain bathroom countertop, which had been installed just days before, due to pure carelessness which is over $300 to fix. They also disassembled and reassembled our furniture and as soon as I laid on the bed, pieces started falling off.
Do yourself a favor - do not use them. What you "save" by the lower hourly rate, you will more than make up for in damages. I regret booking them and just want all of the damage they caused to be paid for. Just a word of caution if you are considering them.

They broke my nightstand and my TV. I noticed my tv power cord was missing and upon receiving my new one, I know why now. I wish I read these reviews before booking this service, and I wonder now if anything else is missing/damaged. I will never use this service again, and I do not recommend them to anyone. As I was not present for the move, they also rudely asked my roommate for a tip.
Wish we didn't give them a dime. Just an update: found out they also broke my bed.as it collapsed recently after the move. So they basically stole $1500 from me and took no responsibility for it. Trash service. Offered me $4 for my broken tv lol! Please please don't use them. There are way more honest and professional movers out there.

NEVER EVER GO FOR THIS BLOODY CHEAT COMPANY. WORST Company.these guys don't deserve even a single star. These guys arrived one day late for pickup and i received my thing 10 days late (after calling customer service for 20-25 times) with almost half of my thing damaged. 1. They placed my things in their storage area for more than 2 weeks, where all my things were damaged due to RAT. (Attached proof). 2.
Truck driver came and asked me to sign all the documents before getting my things out from truck. (Which made a proof for them that i received all my things safe). 3. After all things, finally they brought my damaged couch with RAT poop. Driver told me that i can claim this. when i raised claim and checked with one of the F*****G customer care guy, he told me "As per documents there is no damages and these damages might have happened after driver left" 4. Items (Mixer, Grinder, other Kitchen utensils) in One of the Strong box were totally damaged And i saw them in EZ Movers boxes while receiving. ( FYI - I NEVER used EZ Movers boxes for my packing) 5. I filed claim for LATE delivery, which they accepted. BUT till now i DIDN'T get my claim after multiple follow up. As a total i lost my thing worth of $2000 Approx.

Fabulous Team! Crew was on time, polite, efficient, careful, intelligent. Our move from a Chicago high rise required a long haul, two elevators, and lots of preliminary paperwork.all of which EZ Movers handled easily. It was great to have a rapid delivery (3 days) to our new home in California; saved on hotels/restaurants as hardly homeless. Most other movers only offered a two week window! EZ movers kept us updated with ETA along the way. He even helped with new receipts copies after the move was over! I've had six interstate moves in my life and EZ Movers are the BEST!

I would like to say that EZ movers moved me recently and they did a very good job! I still can't get over the fact that they moved me without any damages or extra fees! They are spectacular! I never got this kind of service! Their team members are efficient, caring, professional and hardworking. They moved me in record time too and I do not have a single complaint! My move was completely like a breeze! I definitely will use them again and I will tell others to hire them too. They are totally worth it!

(Out of state move) I had my belongings moved out of my Chicago apartment at the end of July into EZ Movers warehouse for 4 months. For local moves in Chicago I have used EZ Movers twice and always had a great experience. They worked hard and communicated effectively to me on how the process would be handled since I was moving out of state. I put a service request in for the middle of November to have my belongings delivered at the beginning of December.
They delivered within the 10 day window as promised. The two men that delivered my belongings to my storage unit in Florida were EXCELLENT and made the experience fun. I was nervous about my belongings after reading the reviews but all 85 items were delivered. I have always recommended this company to my Chicago friends and still will. Move cost over $2k, charged way over what was quoted, including $90 for 3 rolls of tape. Damages and stolen items worth $1850. Will not respond to emails and tells me to file arbitration which requires $150 fee. They took pictures of everything and claims nothing was documented. SCAMMERS! This was 2nd time using them because we had a great 1st time experience. It is a gamble! Driver also uses silent threats to intimidate!

Selected ez movers for a Chicago to Detroit move, the handlers moving us out we're professional as we're the movers that moved us in. The bad - upon arrival of our things, wardrobe boxes were crushed, the delivered 3 days late, charged us for additional delivery because it was greater than 75 feet. So I requested $150.00 thru their claim process and received $60.00. The deal was I wouldn't give a negative review if compensated fairly for late delivery. I would not recommend this moving company to anyone, stay away.

I had such an excellent experience with the team at EZ Movers. From the start, scheduling was super easy. One of the owners responded to my move request on a Sunday afternoon, and was continuously easy to reach-responding to me in 10 min or less-the entire week leading up to the move. The guys were professional, kind, and courteous. They worked very quickly and efficiently, and all of my belongings were moved safely and without damage.
I was seriously impressed with the speed at which it all to done, yet everything was done to perfection. I will definitely contact EZ Movers for any needs in the future, and would recommend to all friends and family.

I hired EZ Movers and had an AWESOME experience! Choosing a moving company is super difficult and speaking to a bunch of different companies with them all sounding too good to be true. EZ Movers definitely stuck out for their honesty. With honesty comes trust and that's what I was looking for. I hired EZ Movers on the first phone call! When the movers showed up they were very respectful, not only to me but my belongings as well. They were in and out so quick and made sure everything was packed for protection. 5 star service for an affordable price!

I'm kind of surprised to see a lot of these bad reviews about E Z movers. I have used them twice for my moves and to be honest I think they're great. Brian has always given me the best time options and always has given me the time that is most affordable. The moves I have had done are usually always within the time quoted, and I have a crazy amount of furniture.
I think the actual movers are actually great guys. They are truely hard working and efficient. Thank you guys for everything and always making my moves very easy. Moving is hard enough as it is and ridiculously stressful with ez movers I didn't have to deal with that headache.

I recently moved with EZ Movers and have been beyond pleased with my move. From the quote I received which was the best price after shopping around. To quality assurance reviewing my inventory with me, I had to add more items to my move and my price didn't change. Customer service was prompt on answering all of my questions regarding my move. The movers arrived on time and were very professional and handled all of my items with care.
The packing they did was absolutely exceptional. I was delivered to my new address in 2 days! I had the same experience as I did when the movers came to pick up my items as I did upon delivery. I have moved across state before and this was by far the best experience I have ever received. Thank you EZ Movers for having my back!

Me and my mom are very happy with EZ Movers moving services. They have an outstanding crew! Great work ethic and a positive attitude throughout this move. They took care of my stuff without damaging anything. Having a few queen size beds in my old home was a breeze for them to move. Truly a remarkable experience that was made stress free thanks to the professional movers at EZ Movers.

They will break your stuff. They will refuse to pay the insurance claim. I have moved a few times while living in Chicago, but the level of negligence and unprofessionalism was beyond anything I could have thought possible. The most aggravating part will be when dealing with the front office. They will brush off any complaints and not reply with any urgency or sincerity. This will be my last time ever even thinking of ez movers for anything. Anyone that wishes to use them: good luck!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Almost EVERYTHING of mine was broken and I've been waiting for almost a month for someone to get back to me in regards to the claim I filed. The driver was very friendly and helpful. However, when my items were delivered my boxes were crushed, storage totes were crushed, and the load had collapsed inside the truck which made it difficult for them to remove my items. They also completely lost a dresser of mine and it took them 17 days (12 business days) to deliver my things. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT use them.

I move a lot as a college student. Over the last 7 years I have moved 9 times to different cities. I never experienced a stress free move before EZ Movers. My moving crew consist of Tom ( Big Fella), Michael ( Bears Fan) and Anthony. The crew was always positive, fast and efficient during the move. They went over the process of how the move will go and then we talked about the price and estimated time.
After that they started to work. EZ Movers brought their own shrink wrap to secure my stuff. I was amazed at how fast they worked and that all my stuff was moved safely with no damages. I mean these guys went up and down the stairs multiple times through rather narrow corridors and did not scratch a single item. They even manage to not hit the walls! EZ Movers deserves high praise and you can trust these guys to handle your move.

Please do not use this company. They don't stick to their quotes, the movers are rude, they overcharge, and the mover did not even help bring my things into the apartment. My boyfriend and I had to do the heavy lifting! They damages a $900 table and I have not had a response from the company. If I could give this company zero stars I would.

Absolutely the most dishonest company I have ever used. **UPDATE: After filing complaints with the BBB, ICC and with the AMSA, I have been told this company is being removed from their association due to the numerous complaints lodged. I have used close to a dozen moving companies. Nothing went right from the beginning. They were absolutely disorganized in telling me when they were coming.
No one called me. I called to confirm if someone was going to show up, and they tell me since I didn't get a call, obviously not. So their company policy was not communicating with me was going to be their form of communication. Then the next morning at 8:30 I get a call from the driver telling me he will be at my place in half an hour. I went to work since I was assured he would not be coming.
I was told if I didn't make arrangements for him to pick up, I would lose my deposit and they would not take my things ever. After waiting hours, I continually called the driver, and he would not answer. I called the company and the dispatcher. They told me if he said he was coming, I just had to wait. By 5:30, the company told me the driver would not be coming, and he may perhaps show up the following day.
He showed up 45 minutes later, which was a total of nine hours after he said he would be there and the company confirmed he was not coming twice. When the driver drove up, he came in a 22-foot truck instead of the semi that was required for my cross-country move. Since his vehicle was not properly licensed (per his own words, ) he couldn't bring the semi.
They charged me $500 because their driver didn't have the proper licenses. He took five hours to pack a one-bedroom apartment into the truck. They were so inept at packing, my retired mother had to go out to the truck and repack it to actually get everything inside the truck. They even charged me for boxing up mirrors, and then they never did it.
When the truck arrived in New York, I was charged another $860 in addition to the final deposit. This time the driver got lost, so I was expected to pay for his time when he can't read a GPS. Add to that $4500 in damage for absolute disregard for my belongings sincerely makes this the worst moving company I have ever used.

Do not use this company. The movers quoted us wrong by hours, broke multiple items, moved so slow, we're not apathetic when we mentioned them going over their quoted time. When we complained they said to call customer service to complain and then demanded us to pay in full before the truck was even unloaded. Awful awful movers!
