It was in 1945 that Earnest S. Wheaton founded our moving company, originally named Clipper Van Lines. From our very first move, which began in Canton, Ohio, and ended in Constantine, Michigan, we were committed to quality. When we began, we started out with an original authority for 22 states in the eastern United States. As we began our expansion to offer moving services to the rest of the country in the 1950s, we changed our name to Wheaton Van Lines, Inc. By the end of the decade, we were international.

Starting from our estimate down to the day of the move and then the unloading at our new home. Everyone was very responsive. Joe Breda was top notch. The driver who delivered our shipment was amazing! We heard nightmare stories from friends and their moves. A good friend of ours had used Breda movers 3 times and couldn't say enough about them. She was right! We would highly recommend them.

It takes a whole lot to right for me to write a negative review. This review is 15 months in the making and is only written because I have exhausted all other avenues. Long story made short, after having our belongings stored with Wheaton for 7 months on a move from NJ to SC, many boxes/items lost their stickers which made tracking impossible. In addition, a dryer was damaged in handling causing the heating element to fail.
I advised Wheaton of the missing items, they claim their search turned up nothing. So they never really investigated, lost the items, were stolen (there were collectibles missing, not very expensive but personally important) or delivered to the wrong customer who kept them for themselves. Items handled by a company like Wheaton don't disappear. I issued a claim detailing the items, the value as well as a receipt for the dryer repair based on their insurance claim policy. Wheaton refused to honor the insurance including the dryer since there was no 'physical' damage.
I also issued a complaint with the US Department of Transportation, it has gone nowhere. Their ability to properly manage and store your belongings is inexcusable, and their insurance is worthless. Buyer beware.

I interviewed a lot of moving companies before my cross country move. Wheaton provided the best value. The customer service was outstanding and the move went without any problems. I highly recommend them for your move- don't even bother shopping around- you won't find better service or pricing anywhere else.

We selected Carolina Moving through a web search. We were impressed that this was a 50+ year family owned company. From our first meeting with Mike to prepare a bid through the last item moved into our new home, all the members of the company were professional and extremely friendly. Our driver and lead, John, was outstanding, and his crew on packing/loading, and unloading were top notch. I have already personally recommended Caroling/Wheaton to our friends.

They were very professional. After getting 3 quotes we decided to go with Wheaton because they were the most reasonably priced. Dealing with Chris and Christine was great and they kept us updated regularly. Our driver, Curtis, and the team that packed, loaded and unloaded our belongings were all great to work with. It was a very good experience and we would definitely recommend them to family and friends!

I had a great experience moving across country (WA to MD) with Wheaton and this was a winter move! The local staff in WA state and the driver were all very professional and responsive to my requests, and the driver contacted be prior to delivery to ensure everything was setup. I will use there service in the future and I do recommend them!

This company was contracted by my husband's new job to move us across the country. It was not a good experience. First, they were completely unprepared for our move even though they sent someone to assess our belongings before the move. Apparently the pre-move assessment was completely off. When they came to pack us a day before the actual move they didn't finish because of the poor communication within the company.
The next day, when they came to move us, they were once again unprepared. They had people packing and moving us on the same day. They had to stop for a couple of hours because they needed to wait for an additional truck since they underestimated the amount of belongings we had. They had to call in additional people to finish the move and got sloppy towards the end trying to rush and finish. Then, our stuff sat in their warehouse for two weeks as they waited to get a driver to transport our belongings.
While unpacking we noticed items broken and missing. I had a wardrobe box with my clothing inside but labeled with someone else's name?!?! No wonder some of our stuff went missing. After filing a claim, their willing to pay for the broken items but not the missing items. We will NEVER do business or recommend this company. They were completely unprofessional and we basically have to pay for all of the mistakes and errors they made during our move.

We have used Wheaton/Courtesy moving & storage twice and have always found the very helpful in all aspects of the move. They are very dependable and reliable. They are a moving and storage company that you can trust to move your items across town or move your items across a different state. We will always use Wheaton and courtesy moving company.
