The crew who coordinated the move decided to add a $600 charge only after they had my goods and I was on my way to my next location. Leaving me with no choice but to pay it, meanwhile the two agents had 2 different stories on what was being charged and how much and neither had any idea the other was charging me until I mentioned it to the other. This entire process was a complete incompetence and an attempt to screw my family out of money we needed while keeping our things hostage. Would never use again.

Late showing up to pick up our furniture and did not lay down any flooring protection as promised. Had 5 guys but took 5 hours. They took many breaks and were all over the place. They easily got side tracked and so nothing was organized when loading. We had everything but furniture packed. So much stuff came back damaged. There is a lack of response from them when contacting them for scheduling.

I chose North American movers because I used them moving to Illinois from California in 1980 and had no problems on a cross country move. What a mistake! I ended up with the Beltman group located in Glendale Heights, IL. We moved fom Naperville, IL to Bloomington, IL last May. We had all our furniture put in their storage facility until we found a new house.
If I could rate them a zero, I would. We had many items damaged and some furniture totally ruined. We recently finished unpacking (had some remodeling done) and now we find out that many items are missing. Not only did they break a lot of items, but now we find that a lot of our items are missing. What a unprofessional company!

BEWARE of Beltmann. During the initial consultation for a move from NY to CA they quoted me one price and then raised it 40% once they had packed and brought my belongings in storage. After I reluctantly paid this, they delivered my items with over $9,000 worth of damage from being in storage. I'm talking furniture delivered without any blankets or. wrapping; metal antiques not packed at all, just thrown on top of other items; designer handbags that were declared as "high value items" shoved as packing material with books and other heavy items; a lovely bed frame not disassembled at all for the storage or move, now warped and broken; a brand new $500 Dyson vacuum shattered and missing critical pieces.
The delivery driver said (and I quote) "this is the worst packing I have ever seen in 20 years of being a driver for this company". Definitely look elsewhere for your moving needs.

The absolute worst. Brian Jozwiak promises the world. First estimate to move from Grayslake, Illinois to Salisbury, N. Carolina was about $7000. When we were actually set to move the quote came in at about $12,000, which both prices included the transport of our vehicle. We confronted Brian about why the costs went up to which he said we had more. boxes & more weight.
We got rid of many items prior to that which would significantly lower the weight. They never tell you they are charging you $$$ to unload and store at another facility & then load onto another truck many days later. It would take 10-14 days until our belongings were delivered. The crew that moved us in Salisbury were not even.

BEWARE OF USING BELTMANN NORTH AMERICAN VAN LINES FOR YOUR MOVE! Worst experience we have ever had with a moving company; nothing happened as we were told, mis-estimated load weight resulted in 3 seperate pick-ups over 5 days, delayed delivery, total chaos in 2 seperate deliveries to home and storage units, absolutely no communnication from company or representative, or customer service and to top it all off.received a check for $100 for the "inconvenience". Pick anyone else.they have to be better than this company.

Beltmann NorthAmerican is a disaster to work with. As soon as they get your business/ have you sign a contract to move, they fall off the planet. Crews are late or no show day after day. They are sloppy, drop boxes, complain constantly and behave down right rude to their customers. They break items and then stall and won't provide you information. to file a claim.
The sales rep, who promised to be there for every step and make sure we had white gloves service, has disappeared. I've left messages for the managers at the location we went through, Tari Dean to specific, and he has yet to call back after almost 3 days. This company is awful! Save your money! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Do not hire this company under any circumstances. I have a binding contract from when we packed and had our belonging put into storage late last year until we found a new home in a new state. Paid 50% deposit and they loaded everything and took it. Fast forward to me letting them know our new address and move in date. Received validation of move date as well as final bill and everything was fine.
Then the day before delivery I was contacted that there was a problem with my final payment and my total was now 100% more than my previous final bill and that I was required to pay in order to have my belongings. I've disputed with my credit card and reported them to the FMCSA, but stay far away from this company.

Used this company to move from AZ to CA and am one unsatisfied customer. If you have a dispute with them they will literally ignore you and not even address your questions. They did NOT weigh my load and when challenged provided forged documents which I challenged. They then charged me based on an "audit" of my items. I have reported this issue with them multiple times and asked them for an avenue of resolution all met with silence.
I guess the only remaining path is court. Avoid at all costs. Very unfortunate l, as this move occurred due to the untimely death of my wife. One more thing I have to deal with. Crooks.

We hired Beltmann for our recent cross country move because we've used North American several times in the past and thought they worked with trusted and professional affiliates. This by far was the worst move we've ever experienced. They knew hiring them was contingent upon our items being delivered by the same driver that picked them up, and that our items wouldn't be transferred once placed on the trailer.
They stated both conditions would be met, however this did not occur. I think the most despicable thing they did was attempting to gaslight my elderly mother afterward, by telling her she misunderstood and our items were transported by the same driver. No, she did not misunderstand, and neither did I. Our belongings absolutely were transferred to other trailers, it was not the same driver at pickup and delivery.
They did not even use professional or even slightly experienced movers. Our belongings were handled carelessly, trash was left behind for my mother to dispose of (like a huge roll of shrink wrap she couldn't even lift!) and many, many items arrived broken, crushed and otherwise damaged. The inventory list was fiction, as they included items that we do not own, items that had no damage were listed with extensive damage, and items that were noted with no damage, actually had damage. I've moved across the country 3 times. I've had many, many local moves.
My mother has moved cross country and had multiple local moves as well. You expect some snags and some damages. It comes with the territory. However, this isn't about a few crushed boxes. This has been the most unprofessional, unethical behavior I've ever experienced. I would strongly recommend against hiring North American, Beltmann or Dehaven, especially if you are elderly and don't have an advocate to ensure you're being treated with integrity.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT HIRE. RUN DON'T WALK! The movers were illegally blocking my clients driveway. When I asked politely for them to move their truck, I was accosted by the employee: The employee told me that unless I could pay 5 workers $35 an hour to move their truck, it wasn't going to happen. (Three of them were simply hanging around the truck and not working anyway) I told him I didn't need his attitude, just for him to move the truck because it was illegally blocking the driveway and the mailbox.
He told me that I could go inside and ask, but that everyone would just laugh at me. Mind you, my client had been reassured earlier by the person that the vehicle would be moved before I got there. As I walked away, I heard the employee make derogatory remarks about myself and my AAPI heritage.

WARNING: Beltmann charged us for products that were NOT provided and when we brought it to their attention as soon as the movers left, their response was to tell us to file it as an insurance claim. That is FRAUD by Beltmann to charge for products and services not received, not an insurance issue! The movers showed up 5 hours late even though the driver and truck were on time.
The driver was wonderful and worked solo until a replacement crew could show up. They were a day late delivering. The only good part of using Beltmann was the driver and the unloading crew. Buyer beware.

I have nothing but praise for the professionalism of this company. Raymond was thorough in his initial walk thru and then Kim kept us informed all the way with follow-up calls to make sure we were being taken care of during the move from one state to another. The driver Ronnie and his crew were wonderful both loading and unloading our home. We have moved 10 times over the course of 30 years and this was our absolute best experience. I highly recommend them.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We used Beltmann North American Relocation for a move from Dallas to LA. They did an AMAZING job on both the pickup and delivery! Todd Westlake gave us a binding bid which included full insurance via a video call due to COVID-19. The price and the service were exactly as promised. The movers arrived at 8 a.m. sharp for the pickup and arrived exactly as scheduled a week later in Los Angeles.
Our moving crew was very polite & EXTREMELY careful with our furniture & boxes! They carefully wrapped everything. The delivery driver, Bill, communicated all along the way since we did not have an address in LA. All 96 boxes and furniture arrived with no damage or anything missing. We couldn't be happier! Thank-you Todd, Quielie, Bill and crew!

I am very shocked with their costumer service. There is a person named Kimberly Daugherty that is the rudest and disrespectful person working there. She has hung up on me two time, the two times we spoke on the phone regarding my move. She has a terrible attitude and won't give me any answers on when am I going to get all my furniture. Since day. one she has been rude.
I have been waiting for her or Scott Bugielski from SIRVA con contact me and tell me when are the movers coming back to uncrade the last of my things so I can have all of my furniture inside my home. Scott just says he doesn't know because it's up to Kimberly and that he is going to call me back and never has. This has been going on since last week and again today.
I am trying to get a hold of the owner and tell him everything that has happened and that it is still happening so that he can help up but had no luck. I regret hiring this moving company. The movers were not carefull when loading down my other furniture, broke a piece of my dining table and scratch some of my walls.

Absolutely horrible experience. This was the email we sent to Beltmann, followed by their response: We hope this email finds you well and that you had a great weekend. We are writing to touch base with you on our move. The following is organized into four sections: Unsatisfactory Procedures and Staffing, Broken Belongings, Missing Belongings, . and Other Outstanding Issues.
We look forward to your response on each of these areas of concern. Before getting into the details, we would like to share with you that we chose Beltmann for this move from among your competitors because of our previous positive experiences moving with Beltmann. Because this move is being paid for out of our own.

DO NOT use this company! They do not stand behind what you contract with them for and do not care at all about providing any level of customer service and will lie to you every step of the way. We used them to. move from NY to South Carolina and it was a nightmare. First they did not move us out on the date that we contracted for and really did not care about the huge inconvenience this would be.
I will spare the laundry list of items that went wrong but the worst was when we did finally get our items in SC nearly every box that came off the truck was damaged. Countless items that were cherished were broken and furniture destroyed. The crew that unloaded the truck in SC said it looked.

I would never again use this company nor would I recommend Beltmann. Numerous broken glass items, damaged beyond repair fertilizer spreader, furniture nicks and dings, and two lost items that never arrived at the destination. I picked up trash, cigarette butts, and vacuum parts in the street after the movers departure. Save yourself grief by avoiding this company.

We had the most horrific experience with Beltmann relocation group for our move to Scottsdale just a few weeks ago. Over $7,000 in damage to our belongings and even have a large piece of artwork missing. The driver / mover was extremely lazy and it took way longer to move our stuff into our unit. Our items were sent in two shipments and our second shipment was damaged by water due to a leak in the truck.
This literally couldn't go any worst then it did. The customer service department is horrible with responding to phone calls and they never call you back. You have to hound them for a response. They just don't care about your stuff. Please do not use them for your next move. If you have to ensure you have full coverage insurance and cross your fingers things go well. We are beyond frustrated and disappointed on how our move was handled.

They made big ugly scratches in my beautiful hardwood floors by sliding furniture they had taken apart. The headboard to my king bed was damaged, the top of the post was torn off. Plastic containers were crushed. Parts are missing to items they took apart. The expensive king mattress that I paid to be boxed was never boxed until it arrived, then they taped pieces of two boxes to cover the mattress but it was a bad job.
Even relatives were digusted by them not keeping their word to protect my mattress. They were a day late for delivery which cost me money because I had rented a uhaul to take some stuff to a different location. I do not recommend this company. I noticed they only respond to people that give good reviews. They obviously don't care about the people they did wrong.

Moving is stressful and Beltmann made much of my stress go away. There was one little confusion in who my coordinator was as it changed but other than that it was smooth sailing. The head person on the move was super nice and had a team that took great care of my furniture and kitchen items. There were no damages and everything was delivered in the window one week from pick up.
He could have delivered the items earlier but allowed us a few days to get up to our new state and home. The price of the quote was better than many of the other estimates that we got and did not change.

Absolutely horrendous. Never use this company. First, they could not give me a definite day that they would be coming until two days beforehand when I work full time and had to take off to get the shipment today. Then they were late and never reached out to notify they would be late. Then they did not bring half the inventory! They left 16 boxes behind and because it is a weekend, they could not do anything about it until Monday.
I needed those boxes today, as I cannot continue to take days off of work to be home for a delivery. I am absolutely furious. There is not accountability. I will never be using this shipping company again, and I advise you to do the same.

Second update - After I posted my last update a few things have happened which I feel are extremely important to share. First, I'd contacted our move coordinator immediately after the move asking her to please call me ASAP to discuss our move experience. I then noticed they tried to charge my credit card for an amount significantly higher than our quote or final total several times.
My credit card company (luckily) denied the charge because it was a large amount and I hadn't let them know about a large purchase. When the move coordinator did get in touch with me, she said it was because she needed payment, not due to my email. Regardless, I told her about our move experience and she assured me that she'd look into it.
The following day she called back and said she'd spoken with the crew and they denied everything I said so she needed payment. I then asked her about the amount she tried to charge my card and she said it was the amount I'd signed for when the movers left. I explained that I was holding my copy of the final receipt and it was for X amount and that I'd be happy to send her a picture to prove it.
She then told me that her form was "covered in whiteout" and asked me to send her a picture to prove I wasn't lying. As soon as we got off the phone I sent her a picture of the receipt proving the amount and charges both the movers and I had signed. She eventually called me back and said that they had added charges after we'd signed. When I pointed out that this was further evidence of a problem with her crew, she told me this was common practice for her company. It's common practice to alter a signed document and to charge people for items they didn't use or agree to?! (We provided all the boxes for the move and actually had several leftover that were unused, yet they charged us for boxes they never used, as well as several other things).
In fact, it was such a non issue that she even sent me a copy of the form they had altered! Fast forward a few days, my husband and I were able to unpack some items. (Not an easy task given that nothing was labeled and it looked like a five year old packed us). We found a few items that were broken, so since we'd paid for the full valuation protection, I reached out to the move coordinator for the forms to file a claim.
I should mention that we've moved a lot in the past few years and have used several different (national) companies. We always get the full coverage in case of damage and have always been given 10 months to file a claim because it takes time to unpack and go through everything. Well, the move coordinator sent me the form (with required information that we didn't have, for example inventory numbers of the damaged items when nothing was ever inventoried or numbered) and said we had 10 DAYS from the date of the move to return the form.
I immediately emailed her back about the required information that we didn't have, as well as the deadline, but of course no response. Today is the deadline, by the way, and I still haven't received a reply (I doubt I will) and I am no where close to unpacked due to the way our items were haphazardly thrown in boxes and all the time I've spent dealing with this unethical company.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB but I feel it's critical to share our experience here so they don't do this to others. Please learn from our nightmare of an experience and go with a reputable moving company.

I have had many corporate moves and this by far was my worst experience ever! The team out of Dallas was sloppy leaving task every where - it took me 2 hours picking up packing paper, empty tape roll, water bottles, Gatorade bottles. They left my bed frame in the front yard. The packers were unsupervised and there was no organization what so ever and when they unloaded they were tired and lazy and didn't put things in the right area- again no supervision!
And when I complained to the corporate office I was promised a gift card to make up for their lack of care and that never happened! But the worst thing is we had some things broken and damaged and trying to reach a resolution has been a nightmare - so take my advice and find another mover and save yourself some grief!

Our move from Southern California to Goodyear, AZ was smooth from quote to pickup and delivery of our furniture. Shannon explained the entire process to us including all of our packing options when preparing our quote. The four guys, Julio, Jesus, Juan, and Tony, showed up on time and " hit the ground running"! Juan packed all of our wall hangings so well that when our water softener sprang a major leak three days after we moved in no damage was done to them. I would use Beltmann's again without hesitation. Thanks guys!

I would give zero stars if it were an option. Absolutely awful. Worse than I ever could have imagined. I wouldn't recommend Beltmann/North American to anyone. Crushed, smashed, torn, ripped boxes. 55 damaged or ruined items. Most expensive insurance did us almost no good. Absolutely no way to contact anyone over weekends. Doesn't matter if you're in the middle of an interstate move - nobody that can help in this huge national moving company is available on weekends. Unbelievable and unacceptable. Spent just shy of $10,000 to have our things moved and ended up with ruined, broken, smashed, damaged items including art purchased overseas and family heirlooms.
No accountability - everyone points the finger at everyone else. It truly was a nightmare. The attached photos give a small sampling of the condition of the boxes and personal items as delivered. Almost $10K paid to North American and this is what we got. Unbelievably heartbreaking. Stay away from Beltmann/North American!

WARNING! I was prepared to write a nice review regarding our experience with Beltmann. Mark Rankin who came out and gave us the estimate was very pleasant to work with. He explained to me that he was basing our move on time and if the guys got done early then the cost would be less. BUT on moving day (hottest day of the year so far) our driver who was in charge of the crew informed us that they could go really fast and get our things packed up and into the truck or go really slow and take their time, but either way it would be the same price.
That was very different that was I was told, but at that point, I had budgeted for the cost estimate, and it was hot, so I wanted to get it done as quickly as possible. (STRIKE 1) I had two boxes of wine on the floor by the wine fridge that I hadn't moved into my - take with me pile. They taped those boxes up and took them with them - hmmm I didn't think they were allowed to take alcohol? (STRIKE 2) Move-in day.arrived an hour late because they had to take a load to the dump first.then after they left and I got a chance to really look over my furniture, I discovered that 4 of my 6 leather dining chairs were scuffed, torn, ripped from cinching the moving strap too tightly across them.
Now to replace those chairs it will be $550. When filing a claim with Beltmann, I'll be receiving $50.it's based on weight. (STRIKE 3) SO BE WARNED.take out the insurance, read the fine print and even though you are being pulled in 100 different directions, be sure to watch how they put your furniture in the truck!

I ordered a mattress and box spring from Temperpedic which apparently uses this sad excuse of a delivery company to deliver their merchandise. I was scheduled and confirmed for my delivery on Friday, my time frame was between noon and 2pm. By 3pm no one had shown up and called the service company which then told me my window was moved to 3 and 5. At 5:30 still no show.
I called the office and they were closed. I called the corporate office and they were no help. They actually hung up on my husband. I sat in my house till 9pm and still no show. Monday morning Mia the logistics coordinator called to apologize that no one had called or showed up to make my delivery but was unable to provide a new day to schedule the delivery.
Today is now Tuesday. I have called Mia three times today and have not received a call back for the delivery. I have no idea when I will receive my mattress that I have already paid for. Stay away if you can from this company.

I was very pleased with the work ethic and professionalism of the crew which was led by Jeff. Jeff was very helpful, courteous and organized. Ernie and Brian did very fine jobs as well. They worked well as a team. We had very rainy weather for this move and they made sure to keep my floors clean. They did an excellent job. In the front office, Raynaldo, kept me updated with the schedule and was also very professional, as well. Kudos to all involved

We purchased a mattress from Charles P. Rogers (in NJ), and they contracted with two carriers to get it here. The local carrier turned out to be The Beltmann Group, and I'm sure happy that it was! The people there were courteous and kept us informed The manager, Jerry, couldn't have been nicer, and when the delivery was made, the guys, Clyde and Anthony, were absolutely AWESOME!
They were probably the most courteous and helpful that we have ever seen in the moving industry. I had not heard of this company before and don't plan on any further moving related issues, but if we do, we'll contact Jerry at The Beltmann Group, first. Bill T. Phoenix

We purchased a mattress from Costco but it didn't work for us. They arranged for the Beltmann Group to pick it up and return the bed. It took them over a week just to contact us to schedule the pickup. I was given a choice of 2 dates a week away. No weekend pickups so I cancelled two appointments and took the day of from work. Oh yes, their "appointments" are from 8:00-5:00!
Then they called at 5 pm the night before my appointed pickup to reschedule because of either "rain" or "computer glitch" depending on who I talked to, to Saturday between 8:00-5:00. I tried calling back but they close at 5, which was awfully convenient. For them. Called back in the morning and had one arrogant employee after another basically tell me too bad, too sad. I'm talking about you, Rhea, and the really incompetent operations manager Aaron Dahlseid.
I finally was able to get the name of his boss, Danny Montgomery, but had to wait another hour until he got in. I explained the problem and lo and behold, Mr. Montgomery was able to reinstate my Friday pickup and even narrowed it down to between 11:00-3:00. When they didn't show up by 3:00 I called again but then the driver called, they got lost.
By 4:00 the bed was gone, and they even took our old mattress away for us. This company was absolutely awful to deal with, they obviously couldn't care less about their customers. Luckily, my persistence and refusal to take no for an answer finally got me to Danny Montgomery, who did give a damn. Too bad he's the only one who does. After so many years of truly excellent service from Costco, that they would use a company like this was shocking & disappointing.

We contracted with Beltman for our move from cave creek to Delaware. Our mattress was shipped on the tailgate of the truck through rainstorms and arrived soaked. Our boxes arrived crushed and smashed. Heavy duty boxes we went out of our way to purchase. The contents hanging out of the boxes. Plastic storage bins crushed and contents damaged. Missing items.
And all the help I can get is a link to file a claim. And pay a deductible. I have to pay for irresponsible contractors and stupidity. Who puts a mattress outside the truck in the rain? And Mark is silent. No offer to compensate. Or help resolve the claim. No phone call. No email. Nothing now they have been paid.

Our move was professionally handled from start to finish. Everything went according to plan. Someone was always available and quick to respond to any question we had. The price was comparable to other quotes we received. The driver and loaders that moved out belongings worked extremely hard in the Arizona summer heat. There was only minimal damage to a few items.
The attitude of the driver and movers was always clam, professional, friendly, and confident. They really made a stressful day easier. We recommend NorthAmerican and Beltmann Relocation Group.

Our move from Arizona to S.C. went very well. We were impressed with all the personnel. Our driver. Perry, was very professional and experienced. His helper was equally good. They arrived as planned and delivered as planned. No problems at all. I would recommend this company. We were referred by friends that were.also pleased.

The sales rep, driver, and movers were all very nice and accommodating. Mark went out of his way to make sure we had all the boxes they could spare and Wagner went out of his way to make sure that our possessions were taken care of and we were involved in the loading process. Only reason that I didn't rate them five stars is because we lost a outdoor hose and the reel is was on, told the customer service rep who called to follow up, and nothing happened. Otherwise I'm very satisfied.

I have used Beltmann Relocation for three local moves over the years and they are truly the best game in town. Every time I move, I reach out to several companies for quotes and I always end up going back to The Beltmann Group. Their customer service far exceeds that of the others that I have called to quote my moves. Their staff is professional and they really take the pain out of moving.
I honestly can't say enough good things about them. My most recent move was in January 2015 and they really went above and beyond on this one. The Beltmann Group professionally packed and stored my items while I was in between residences. Due to some issues closing on my new home, I had to reschedule delivery of my items 4 different times! Karen and Glen never ever made me feel like this was a problem and were very accommodating. Thank you Beltmann Group!
