Dorm Room Movers

This company will scam you out of your hard-earned money. They quote one price but then charge monthly fees which were never agreed to. I was told that $600.50 would cover 4 months of storage, just to be hit with additional $500/month for each month instead. My strong warning is to stay AWAY these vultures. Their practices is borderline criminal, if not fully criminal.

Where to even begin. Literally at the beginning. I was skeptical that this was legit. But I took a chance and sent them money. Not only did they send boxes to my kid. They sent tape, too. They kept me updated when the boxes were shipped to my kid. Then they let me know the timeframe the pickup would be. I realized I had forgotten the mattress topper in my inventory so I texted them that I needed to add it.

I received an immediate response that it was added. The time for pick up was 3:50 to 6:50pm. They were there at 4pm. When we realized the mattress topper needed more help, the guy picking up said he'd take care of the extra box to put over the box the topper was in. Then off the five boxes went. That was it. Move-out couldn't be easier if it tried. I just can't praise them enough. For as much stress as we expected, there was ZERO. Zilch. None. I am so happy I took the chance.

My experience with Dorm Room Movers was so easy! The starter kit was perfect and all I did was put stuff in their boxes and tape them up. Moving day was great; my mover, Austin, was fast and efficient, while remaining cautious and safe. What's more to ask for?

The movers were great! Very helpful and made having to move without my parents fast and easy. I was finished within 20 minutes.

Don't ever use this company. They take your deposit, send your kid boxes and don't pick them up! Now my daughter is home and they have failed to move her dorm room into storage. Her dorm does a lock out on 5/8 at noon and the best they can do is 10 am on Monday 5/9. Day late and dollar short! Totally disgusted with their response of "well, nothing can be done" and "maybe you can find someone else". after sending boxes and taking the deposit on the 90 days of storage. Now it our job to make sure they don't remove her stuff from dorm and make sure they can enter dorm on Monday.

The process was super easy. They sent boxes and tape, and when it was time for pickup the were on time with great communication and were so very nice. Will use them every year.

Dorm Room Movers is always professional and takes care of ever detail. I trust my things to be packed safely, and also to be on time and in my correct room when the fall comes. The service is very kind and it is more value than a storage unit.

I highly recommend Dorm Room Movers! As a college student at Southern Methodist University, I have been able to work with them and have had nothing but positive things to say about them! I received a moving starter kit and it had everything I needed, including tape. With the semester coming to an end, I started packing up my things for them to be picked up and stored for the summer. I learn more about DRM everyday and I'm happy to share my knowledge with my friends, family, and people around campus!

Dorm Room Movers was an excellent resource for us at Southern Oregon University. Honestly I don't know what we would have done if they weren't available. We were able to store my students extra belongings over the summer as we found ourselves without a vehicle big enough to bring it all home. Service, website, and communication was stellar. Can't recommend highly enough!

If I could give them zero stars I would. The management us completely unorganized and rude. They did not deliver half of the stuff they stored for us and said it was not on our list of items.they were missing a bed, a desk, dresser. How do you misplace half of everything you stored and not even put it on our stored list? They found the items at the end of the day but left them at the front of the house and would not deliver to my room. They also broke my desk, but of course it is not covered under their insurance policy. Do yourself a favor and don't use this company!

Very helpful service. The delivery was fantastic and the customer service was awesome. The delivery came quickly after I received a call from the mover and all the boxes were delivered inside my daughter's dorm room. Fast, professional and friendly. I did not do anything Definitely I will sign up the service again for dorm move out at the end of the year.

Critical: Professionalism Stole literally 1/3 of my stuffs. When requested for a investigation for missing items, they closed it immediately.

The movers that picked up were rude and very unfriendly and our snowboard and mini fridge were badly damaged. The only good experience was the friendly lady when we picked up the items from the storage facility.

Don't use! Having an absolutely horrible experience with Dorm Room Movers. Our packages were supposed to have been shipped weeks ago and still are sitting in their warehouse. We've sent over 15 emails and called over 10 times with no action. Multiple people have lied to us about the packages being shipped.

Great experience and best and easiest way to move and store college kids stuff. Would definitely use them again!

Don't believe the testimonials on their website! This would be a zero start rating if I could post without clicking a star. DRM misplaced my son's items and is giving him the runaround. He's stuck without his stuff - DRM has, over the last 2 days, promised to update and contact him to let him know the status and they've failed to call/text even once. We've had to call them repeatedly and we get the same scripted BS answers. my son is 5000 miles from home with absolutely nothing in his dorm because DRM lost his stuff - no sheets, no blankets, no towels, nothing. Worst part, DRM knows all this they've assured us that "the CEO is aware and is watching the matter personally" but no call, no offer to provide him with some funds to get the basic necessities, no offer of any kind of relief, not even a phone call or text from anyone in management. DO NOT TRUST DRM!

I have had nothing but a positive experience with Dorm Room Movers. I am a junior at Syracuse University and moving out over the last two years has not gone great for me. I tried two other services recommended by my campus and both of my experiences with them were not great. Having a moving out kit mailed to me was such a great purchase, especially with the promo codes online.

The boxes are able to fit all of my stuff that I'm planning to store over Summer until I move into my apartment next year. Absolutely streamlined process and I hope to get the chance to use them again in the future.

I totally recommend the Dorm Room Movers! The sign up process was very easy and got my moving kit extremely fast! The boxes are a great size to fit all of my stuff in, along with how sturdy they are. The fact that all you have to do is pack the boxes and they do the rest is what really intrigued me. For students having to move from place to place after the school year I found this to be the best and easiest choice. I have nothing bad to say about them!

I've been working as a Campus Brand Manager for some time and can say that this is a great option for moving and storing your stuff during the summer. Signing up was so easy and my storage boxes came in only a few days. They provide great quality boxes that fit almost everything you'd need to store away. The entire process is affordable and they do all the work for you so I definitely recommend for moving out of a dorm or apartment!

I love DRM! This is a really great option for anyone who lives far away from their school and needs a place to store their stuff over the summer. Also a great way to conveniently ship your goods. Couldn't recommend more!

I would definitely recommend Dorm Room Movers! My moving kit arrived super quickly (within three days), and it was super easy to order. I really appreciate how Dorm Room Movers sends the boxes directly to you in order to expedite the moving process. All students have to do is pack their things however they would like to, and then Dorm Room Movers will come and store or ship the boxes, which is super convenient. I also like how they will bring your items directly back to wherever you're living the following year. An all-around great service!

Lost over $500 worth of my things, most irreplaceable; shipment dates were unclear, no one person is in charge or your order, I was given different answers for any question I asked. DO NOT USE this company. Awful. Like others have said, only my valuables never made it back. They did send back random stuff, but anything electronic, jewelry, or brand name is lost.

My son's valuables were stolen and DRM still has not compensated him for the missing items. We hired DRM to pack up my son's stuff and ship some stuff and store some stuff. The wrong stuff was stored, then the wrong stuff was shipped, then we were double-charged for shipping and storage. When we received the boxes, the valuables (watches, sunglasses, electronics, etc.) were missing. That was June and we're still waiting for compensation. Very disappointed.

I would give them zero stars if possible. Overcharged us tremendously. Awful communication. Would not let us pick up our belongings when we needed to. Would not let us speak to supervisors. Staff were very condescending when we did speak with them. Total joke of a company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER. Lies. They took my money a month ago and took my things. Customer service has told me 3 times that things have shipped and I would have a UPS tracking number within 24 hours. Lies. They promise to return calls. Lies. Now they have stopped answering the phone. I cannot even figure out where my things are. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER.

DO NOT USE unless you like highway robbery! This is an absolutely wonderful idea. Dorm Room Movers has shown how great ideas can be ruined. Dorm Room Movers also has shown me that it would be CHEAPER and MORE PLEASANT for me TO HIRE PROFESSIONAL MOVERS AND DO SELF-STORAGE -- WAAAAAAY CHEAPER and MUCH MORE PLEASANT. To start, I signed up early to get a discount.

Due to COVID my daughter's residence hall closed a month and a half early. I spoke to at least one person and texted back and forth with another about the storage date being moved up and why (they were aware of the situation) and that the storage would be through the summer. I was charged MUCH more than my estimate. Not only did I have to pay a premium for the date I NEEDED - as dictated by the univeristy - in addition to what I paid to sign up but the move and storage was over $1,000 for about 10 boxes, an upholstered chair, a small dresser, an ironing board and a mirror. OVER $1,000!

Then I receive an email saying that my storage term was expiring in the middle of July and that I needed to pay monthly for them to keep my daughter's items until she returns to campus in August. (When I emailed and asked for someone to call me to discuss this expiration, no one ever called.) When I made the storage arrangements, no one informed me at that time that for what I paid I would only get four months of storage and that starting in July I would have to start paying for additional months to get storage through to fall move-in.

In addition to that, I had to pay ANOTHER premium to get the August delivery date I NEEDED to coincide with my daughter's residence's move-in date. I argued with the representative who kept saying that she understood but that is their pricing policy and that they only store for four months. The representative (Amiah) conceded that the company knew why I and others were starting storage early but their policy is that the fee is for four months and then you pay monthly.

This year is going to be a boon year for their revenue by doing business as usual during an unusual time. Here is yet another business TAKING ADVANTAGE of people in a bind due to circumstance out of their control. Another business TAKING ADVANTAGE of people DURING THIS PANDEMIC and squeezing as much as they can out of a bad situation for their clients.

The only thing that Dorm Room Movers has done is to make sure that they lose business in the future. My daughter has additional summers for storage. Dorm Room Movers has shown me that not only do I not want to do business with them and that I should not do business with them but that it would be CHEAPER for me TO HIRE PROFESSIONAL MOVERS AND DO SELF-STORAGE -- WAAAAAAY CHEAPER. USE DORM ROOM MOVERS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Beware.very, very expensive service. Much more than quoted in sales call. We received an email ad from my son's school, Univ of Utah, and so I thought it was legitimate. I even called the school to confirm. We used them because my son had had to leave his dorm room quickly as COVID closed things down. We live across the country so this seemed like a good solution to clean things out of his room.

They will promise anything in the sales call. In the end, we were charged over $1,100 just to pack and store his clothes and personal items. This was almost three times the estimate we discussed in advance.and they didn't put anything in writing about costs. Believe it or not, they claim this is a 20% discount.

HORRIBLE Experience! I have been dealing with this company for over 2 months and still could not get a clear answer on a scheduled date. Wait time was over 45 minutes every time I had to call them. The only way I got them to respond was via their chat feature on their web site. At that point, I just continued to receive vague answers to my questions.

I ended up cancelling their service (they refunded 75% of my money) and yet they still do not want to refund my registration fee. I should be refunded all fees if I cancel your service. Their service is so bad that the University stopped recommending them as a partner and asked us to change companies. Stay away from this company. I am considering driving 22 hours to take care of this issue myself. I rate this company "Zero" Stars.

Do not use Dorm Room Movers! They will not show up and you cannot contact them when you need to. They did not arrive at all on the scheduled move in date. We arrived in Tampa on Friday and were informed that our son's belongings would be delivered Saturday morning between 8am and 11am. We spent hours trying to reach their staff on Saturday and were not notified until after 8pm (12 hours later) that his stuff would not be delivered until Monday and they actually thought they were doing us a favor by getting us his items Monday. Monday morning the truck arrives and we had to wait an hour to find out they were missing 3 boxes.

When we finally received the missing boxes (hours later) they were crushed with items missing. I had to fight to get my money back and was not even given a full refund for their services. Can you believe they thought they should be paid? I had to pay for additional nights in a hotel and take off of work and was not compensated for my hotel stay, days off work or my time. Now they refuse to pay for my missing items. The stress continues. DO NOT USE DORM ROOM MOVERS.

This has been the absolutely WORST experience ever! I would definitely NOT recommend using this company for anything! They screwed up the pick up date and times, they put a tremendous about of stress on my freshman daughter during finals week. My daughter goes to Quinnipiac University in CT and needed to get on a flight home to California and they made that a nightmare with how they messed up pick up date and times.

On top of it all it is VERY overpriced $800 to store very little for 3 months and I just called for them to deliver her stuff on her move in date and they are telling me it will be another $300 to deliver? WTH? Terrible company and experience. DO NOT USE THEM.
