We were Referred to this company by a friend of mine, they were totally satisfied and suggested we give them a call. Jim was very prompt to visit our home and gave us a quote within 24 hours, we were impressed with him and proceeded to use them for our move. we had a four man team, all of them were courteous prompt and qualified. all of our furniture arrived in great condition. I would highly recommend them for your moving needs!

I recently had a last minute commercial move. I was worried I wouldn't find someone who could handle such a big job on short notice. Design to move was great. They were able to help me meet all my schedule concerns, they were professional and efficient. I would highly recommend!

Be very afraid! I have moved dozens of times and use many different moving companies this is by far the worst and overpriced experience I have ever had. Estimated low executed high price I spend almost $1000 more than expected while two guys worked very hard and I appreciate the move of the piano the other one left early and the fourth one took many many breaks and pretty certain he was drinking reeking of alcohol.

They left the storage facility uncleaned with several of my belongings still there and when I asked to adjust my bill the answer I got was "that ain't gonna happen ". These guys should not be in business. I made a serious errand judgment hiring these guys and even a more serious error paying them via Zell

Chad and Peirre were very professional, worked quickly even though I was moving out of a basement apartment and the poor guys made a hundred trip up the steps. All I have to say is Desinged to Move should be your only choice.

When I booked our move, I received a 2 hour window when the movers would arrive. Then the day of, I received a text of their more exact timing of arrival and that they were on their way. They showed up on time and were extremely personable and were professional. They introduced themselves and were friendly to work with. The guys loaded and unloaded our things at our new house without any issues. We had an overall stress free and easy move. They even moved a treadmill from our old basement to our new basement with ease. I highly recommend this company!

The entire crew at DTM was great. They answered every question I had and were able to exceed all of my expectations. The crew was on time and did a great job on the move. They treated all of my belongings with care and even cleaned up when they were done. I would highly recommend DTM to anyone looking for a moving company. Thanks Jim

We were looking for movers to help my mother in law move into a senior living community. They were very professional. No complaints and hard working. My mother n law was very happy with them.

The movers were quick and efficient, they were friendly and motivated. the only negative for me, was that fine line between a "quote", and what you actually pay. Ask questions, be sure your informed about All the variables. Stay safe, and have a great day!

DTM was great! The movers arrived on time, were polite, nice, and got everything from point A to point B. We moved from a one bedroom apartment to a bungalow house and the entire move took ~4 hours. We insured some high value items and nothing broke, they took good care of those for us and were prepared to wrap them in moving blankets. They were efficient and very helpful in our move. I would definitely recommend them!

I had a local move (about 30 mins away) with 2 stops and contacted ~6 different moving companies for quotes. After dealing with each company, Designed to Move impressed me with their professionalism, and quick response time. While they were not the cheapest movers I found, they were close and these 2 factors played a roll in my choice. Originally I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday, the next morning Jim (owner) called me an apologized that there was an error and Saturday wasn't available.

He offered me a 5% discount and we rescheduled for Sunday. Sunday morning arrived and the movers where scheduled to show up between 9-11am. They showed up at 10:45 and immediately got to work. Jay and Billy worked hard, knew their stuff, and took their time when needed on delicate items. I was extremely impressed with the 2 of them. They were friendly, but got down to business.

The rest of the move went the same way. When it was time to pay the bill, they were aware of the discount and included it without me even bringing it up. I would recommend and will use Designed to Move for all future local moves I have. Thank you to Jim, Jay, and Billy for a great experience.

This is the most unorganized, disrespectful company I've ever dealt with. When I requested a quote and was planning the move, response time was almost instant. But on the actual moving day, I couldn't get any sort of response. Movers were hours late, Jim told me that he would have them call me and never did. I had no idea when anyone was going to arrive and then once they did the wrong items were picked up.

I was told the items would be dropped off by 3pm, but they didn't arrive til almost 8:30pm. I called and messaged Jim MULTIPLE times, and no answer. And still haven't heard anything from him. If I could give 0 stars I would, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

This was by far the best moving experience ever! From the beginning of booking until the time they left our driveway, I could not have been more pleased. The guys were polite and wonderful to work with. They wrapped up all fragile items, and moved everything out quick and efficiently. I would HIGHLY recommend this team to get your move taken care of. Thank you to Paul, Jaylen and JoJo for the best service we could have asked for!

Lousy experience. I got a call last night telling me they had to finish another job from yesterday and they would be late. Looks like they do it often as I see another post with the same story about coming late. I was ALSO supposed to be the first move of the day. I was VERY accommodating. The owner said they'd fix me right up. Once they got to the house to take furniture off of the truck, they got very nasty.

Suddenly they could not place the furniture where I asked. I hired a mover because I can't do it myself. I asked for the large stuff to be put in first but nope they had to take all of the small stuff off and then were pissed because there wasn't room to place it. One of the movers started to yell at me and cussed me out. I called the owner, talked to him.

He must approve of his employee swearing at customers because he insisted I give him my credit card right then, or they were not finishing. He charged me for 3 hours when it took 2 and said he told me that he charged 3 hour minimum. They could have taken the 3 hours I paid for and put the furniture where I wanted it to go. He did not tell me up front.

I asked him what did he mean earlier when he said he'd fix me up, ALLOW his punk mover to swear at me? He should have given me free time, not overcharged me for time not used. The rude one also broke my door frame and my roll top desk. I told them NOT to take out the drawers, they are not removable but they did anyway. I don't think they are in correctly but the one kid did do something to get them in.

He probably broke the tracks. I was going to report him to BBB but they are worthless any more. I asked them to wear boot covers, I had them but they refused. The punk said he'd take his shoes off every time. HE LIED. I wish I had read Haileys' review before I hired them, off course I already had them booked. Do NOT use Designed to Move MI, the owner is as rude as his movers and LIED about doing something for me. I told him earlier I was going to cancel earlier this week because I had a bad feeling. To bad I didn't listen to it.

DAMAGED MY FURNITURE. I actually can't imagine a worse moving team. They were 3 hours late (when we were supposed to be the first move of the day). They also warned me that they had to be at another job at 3:00 pm (they didn't get started until 11:15 am). As a result, they were in a hurry the entire time. They were careless and didn't use any protective equipment.

When we got to the new house, they opened the truck and boxes were strewn all over (they clearly strapped nothing down). They got stuck half way up the stairs with a dresser and needed a drill to take off the mirror supports--they then dropped the drill on my hardwood stairs. So far, I've found 4 large chunks out of 3 pieces of wood furniture.

When I brought it to the movers attention, he said he would talk to his boss. They then offered me a "quarter hour" off (the equivalent of $25). I told him I would talk to his boss about the bill, and I sent the boss pictures. The one worker and the boss were both extremely rude and inconsiderate. Since I spoke to the boss, I've also found several dents in my walls.

I called Groupon and they refunded my money (thanks, Groupon, for actually caring about your customer). These guys are cheap and it shows. I would never hire this company again or recommend them to anyone. Only giving 1 star because I can't give 0. Moral of the story: you get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and hire a reputable moving company.

Would never recommend this company. 30 minutes before they were suppose to be at my house Jim called to cancel. He said he broke his ankle. I'm sure he had someone helping him. Could have given suggestions to help me out since he left me in a bind. TERRIBLE way to run a business! 0 stars! Had to highlight 1star to post review.

Great job moving an apartment full of stuff into a new house! Three dudes were prompt, efficient, and courteous. A bit of miscommunication with the administrative side of things that led us to have to push back our original scheduled time, but they ended up showing up exactly at the rescheduled time.

I cannot say enough good things about designed to move. I used a cross country pod service to move me and my family from CA to MI. The pod company was terrible and would not deliver our items from the storage facility to our home in a reasonable time. I contacted Designed To Move and they were able to get a two man crew to drive out to the facility unload our stuff, drive it to our home, and unload it. Leo and Billy were professional, fast, and so careful with our stuff.

Some items were broken in the cross country move, sk they helped me document all the items. I HIGHLY recommend this moving company. They were affordable and friendly. Thank you again!

I was appalled by how the owner of this company spoke to me earlier this evening. A few weeks ago I tentatively made an appointment to have his moving company, move us. I called within 24 hours to cancel. Tonight he called to say that they would be here tomorrow morning, I stated No, that I had cancelled. He than told me that he would be charging a cancellation fee. When I told him that he better not, he started to berate me and call me names. I am reporting him to the BBB 1st thing Monday morning!

I am hesitant to write a poor review because this company had been somewhat reliable and efficient in the past but I got so screwed on my last move, I feel compelled to warn other people. The owner is "good people" and he personally moved me on two occasions but this last move was a disaster. This company managed to completely destroy my faith in and loyalty to them in one failed move due to poor communication (with each other and with me), unprofessional conduct, horrible brand management, terrible problem solving, over-promising and under-delivery.

I had to call and confirm my move, they showed up late, decided that due to the delay they didn't have time to move me, called and said they found a replacement, called me back and said the replacement wasn't available, called me again and said one employee would bring the truck b/c I had found people to help do the move, called me back and said the employee wouldn't do it, offered to move me for free after the holidays.

No amount of money would restore my faith in this company. Stuff happens, I get it but this problem/SNAFU was so poorly managed that I would advise Jim to go into a different line of business.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This was back in 2014. Designed to Move canceled on us after I called to find out why they were an hour late. James told me that he found out a few days before that his driver had an "emergency" and couldn't make it. James apparently tried to get a substitute driver, but was unable to find one. He never called us to give us a heads up and didn't bother doing so the day of until I called him to find out where why they were over an hour late.

We had to scramble to find other movers that day and it was a nightmare. Just move on to a different movers unless you want to get screwed over by Designed to Move. James/Jim commented and said he didn't remember. It was in October 2014 (so not 2 years ago). I have the e-mails to prove it. We're moving again and your awful experience reminded me that others should know how bad of an experience we had, just like others have commented in their reviews.

If I could give zero stars I would. This experience was terrible all around. The movers were and hour and a half late due to weather. Rain in Michigan does not constitute an hour and a half delay. And I had to call to get that answer.15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Nobody called to let me know. Then they scratched my freshly painted walls trying to move things into my basement.

When they told me my sofa wouldn't fit I instructed them not to move it. Well they tried anyway and tore up my walls. And the response I got was "sorry about your walls". There goes a $6,000 paint job. When I called the owner he tried to blame it on me and told me that they warned me my sofa wouldn't fit. When I sent him pictures of the damage I got no response. So, if the owner doesn't care why would the movers? Oh, and the movers were blasting rap music from their truck at 10am while loading it. Really professional. I wouldn't use these guys for anything in the future.

I hired designed to move when I moved about a week ago and they did a great job. The night before my move they called to let me know they would be running a little late in the morning due to a move they were finishing up, which I was very happy about to get a heads up. About 30 mins after they started, 2 other guys showed up to help them and said they had another move after mine they had to be on time for.

So I got 2 extra movers for free, which made the move super fast and made me very happy! I gave 4 stars opposed to 5 just because I had trouble getting a confirmation in writing/email before the move of my booking, and it just seemed unprofessional. Otherwise, great company and experience.
