Joe Moholland Moving Company has two locations to help serve Virginia, Maryland and the Washington D.C area. One of our storage facility and warehouse locations can be found just south of the DC Metro area, in Woodbridge. This location serves as a primary base in the Washington D.C. area, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

The good people at Joe Moholland Moving were professional and thorough every step of the way. From the phone site-survey to the day of moving the moving team packed very efficient and asked all the right questions to ensure there were no miscommunications. Boxes were labeled appropriate for unpacking ease on the backend. All documents were explained before my signature. I would recommend this movie company to anyone looking to move in the area. JMM did a great job keeping us informed with the status of our move. Their employees were extremely courteous and we were able to coordinate a direct delivery which really helped us in our transfer process. Like most moves, there were some damaged items, but JMM reached out to settle those issues immediately.

The movers were on time and even though they lost a day of packing due to snow, they packed 90% up my 3br, 2.5ba three story townhome in less that 8 hrs with only 2 guys who had a great system of packing. The guys were funny and interacted with me while they were busy packing. They are awesome! mayflower movers were fast and quick

Raul and Mario, were the movers that packaged my household goods. I don't typically leave reviews because I don't care to do it, however, both of these gentlemen were professional, helpful, and quick. I didn't realize how much stuff I had in my apartment, but they packaged everything, and were patient with all the questions and concerns I had. It's employees like Raul and Mario who keep this company going, I'm sure they don't read reviews, but If they happen to, I'd just like to thank them once again!

The moving crew was very professional from the beginning of the moving phase to the end of the loading phase. The crew took very good care while packing household goods and were very polite and patient while asking questions as to what needed to be packed and supported. The crew had a sufficient amount of packing materials and arrived earlier than the expected arrival time. I highly recommend Joe Moholland Moving for your next move!

Joe Moholland Moving was great! Their employees were professional, on-time, and efficient. I would definitely hire them again. Our belongings arrived with zero damage! This was one of the best moves that I have had and this was all during COVID when others were struggling to get good movers. Highly recommend Joe Moholland Moving.

Background: I retired from the Marine Corps after 30 years and they were the company chosen to pack my household goods to ship my stuff back to San Antonio. When I put in the paperwork for my move, Joe Moholland Moving promptly contacted me. An employee contacted me to conduct a survey. I was told it would take two days to pack and one day to pick up.
When the packers arrived early that morning, after calling me to say they were on their way, they packed up my house in one day! The team (led by Elizabeth) was efficient, courteous, and very respectful of my items. One thing I have to say, be careful what you leave out. I left my sandals I was wearing by a box. Next thing you know, they were gone!
I'll see them in San Antonio. The pick up team (led by Sean) was amazing. They were also efficient, courteous, and very respectful. They picked up most of my stuff but had to return for the rest. The only thing I had to do was stay out of their way because they had it handled! I did have one issue. The pick up team damaged my screen door. BUT, after contacting the company about it, I was contacted by Tom Liberty.
The issue was settled in less then 5 minutes! All in all, my experience with Joe Moholland Moving has been excellent! Yes, this is the same review I put on Yelp. That doesn't mean it's not real. Great experience with a three person crew. They did a thorough job of packing my apartment and going over the inventory after they loaded everything. They also kept me well informed throughout the process. But be cautious with the video survey. The person who did mine provided a poor estimate, leading to the use of a second crate and a doubled price. I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere. I am not happy about that.

Unfortunately, as a Navy family, we were not given a choice on who we would be using as a moving company. The company was originally scheduled to pack out house over three days. The day before I was informed it was cut down to two days. The moving crew of 4 individuals arrived on time and was pleasant to work with and have in the house. That is why they get one star.
After the first day the house was only 85% packed. They ran out of packing supplies, both paper and boxes. I was informed at the beginning of the day they would return tomorrow and a plan was made for what I needed to have done to the next day. The crew left, on day one, without saying anything or checking in before departing. They then did not show the second day to finish any of the packing that was left.
They made no effort to communicate they were not coming back and would not be bring the rest of the needed packing supplies as promised at the beginning of the process. Upon receiving out shipment at our new home and unpacking we have been horrified at the lazy, disrespectful, haphazard, and out right neglectful was they packed many things. Glass picture frames were tossed in to boxes with no wrapping or protection causing over half of our glass frames to be shattered and the contents within damaged or ruined.
May were in the BOTTOM on wardrobe boxes with no wrapping or protection and other things placed on top of them. Wooden wall pieces were packed so poorly in boxes the entire piece was shattered to pieces. We still have about a quarter of the boxes to unpack and already we have DOZENS of items broken or damaged to the point of no repair and needing to be replaced.
I recommend doing anything within your power to not use this company. If you have no choice, make sure you have someone watching each packer to make sure they are packing things appropriately! Pictures included on a few damaged items,

The crew that came to pack were late both days. When trying to contact the lead, no calls were returned. On the first day they worked from about 12pm-230pm with a lunch break and work break during that window. The boxes were poorly wrapped and the tape had come undone by the next morning. After this was pointed out, they fixed about half of them. overall poor work ethic, poor responsiveness and lack of attention to detail.
I'm very concerned about my goods not being well protected in transit. I have additional photos to share if contacted Update: I may not be showing as a customer because this move was contracted through the DoD and managed through AAA Transfer & Storage Inc. I've passed on feedback to them and the inspectors at Ft Belvoir TMO.
