Absolutely the worst movers I ever encountered. Lo-balled the estimate and the actual came to almost twice as much. Numbskull movers that broke many things and packed poorly (wife's wedding dress scrunched up with child's toys?) Denied taking doors off of refrigerator when I stood right there and watched them do it. Broke wood detail on old house we moved into. Hid the damaged wood and denied it. Drank beer and ate food out of our refrigerator and then tried to hide the bottles behind the water heater in the basement. OMFG!
Please go to another company. Not worth the hassle even if you get insurance to cover the things they WILL break. Pay close attention to the one star reviews. Therein lies the truth. Pros: None Cons: Criminals

I would give 0 stars if I could. They lost something of mine in the move. They have ignored my attempts to reach them after the move. Do not use this company. They are not committed to customer service and will not help resolve any problems they create. Avoid this moving company, there are plenty of others to choose from.

Unprofessional ALL around. Received a text message to tell me that they had booked me for services but had overbooked for the day. Not even a phone call. When we called we spoke with Christine who told us that she would be "no help at all" and cold transferred us to our sales rep Nicole. She was not available so called back to speak with Christine who said she would message Nicole and get back to us (that was at 1pm). Ended up realizing that it was 3:30pm and that we had still not heard back.
I called and spoke with Ron (who was the only one who actually had customer services skills) who told me that Nicole was out of the office for the rest of the day. How was she actually going to give me a call back? Made sure that my card was removed from being on file and verify if my deposit was charged. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM.

A big thank you to Isaacs Moving and Storage for a 5 star move! I moved my daughter from Boston to Austin Tx. Isaacs picked everything up and helped wrap some of the odd shaped items. They were accurate in their delivery window and really took a lot of the stress out of a potentially stressful move. The delivery was ontime, professional and communicative. I felt the movers were polite, experienced and careful. Thanks Ricardo and Temo in Austin. You guys were great! It could not have been better.

Our move last week went very well! The sales representative was terrific, explaining the process and pricing and making sure all of our questions (1st time working with a moving company) were answered ahead of our move date. On the day of the move the Isaac's team were organized, professional and helpful. Per our prior conversation with the Isaac's representative, we had mostly everything boxed up and ready to go.
We did however trust the movers with boxing some of the larger pieces, paintings and lamps. Everything was handled with the utmost care and intact upon arrival. The team finished prior to the estimated finish time and so we actually got that time taken off the bill. Isaac's Moving & Storage helped take a lot of the worry out of a stressful time, did a GREAT job and we are happy to recommend the company to friends and family going forward.

From the very first interaction to the final load, every person we talked or worked with was professional, helpful and over-the-top courteous and respectful for us and our belongings, as well as our house. They prepped everything more thoroughly than any previous mover and they really stepped up when it was crunch time. We have moved many times and by far, this was the best pack and load experience we've ever had. I can't recommend Isaac's highly enough.

I recently moved from Revere to Methuen. Hesitant on selecting a moving company vs. friends/family. I chose to go with professional movers. I chose Issac's Moving & Storage from Stoughton. From the first phone call to the last item placed in my new home, Isaac's staff was very professional, experienced and accommodating. Faina Amaral, @ Isaac's was very professional and knowledgeable which made me feel at ease with my choice. Faina set up an appt to have Alan Elliott come to my old address for a walk-through. Alan was also, very professional and experienced in the moving business.
Great credentials. Moving Day! 3 gentlemen showed up on time with all the supplies to get me moved. They wrapped EVERYTHING! Friends and family wouldn't have done that. They packed the truck and were on their way to my new location. They unpacked, unwrapped and placed all my belongings in their new place. Once they were finished we did a walk through and my new home looked inviting and HOME.
It seemed like all my personal stuff was picked up from one location and perfectly placed in my new home. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend Isaac's Moving and Storage for any service big or small. You can't go wrong. Thank you

I have recently used Isaac's Moving and Storage for a client moving from MA to Richmond VA. We received stellar service! The staff does a great job coordinating the move and the movers take a lot of precaution and care with your items. I was amazed at how hard the crew at Issac's worked and the amount of care they took in making sure everything went perfect!

I agree totally with the two one-star ratings. They moved us in 2015 from New Jersey to San Antonio, and it was, admittedly, a big move. Took the better part of two vans. But there were missing items, some minor damage, and a general feeling by me (and I've been through almost a dozen moves in my life) of having been ripped off. When I questioned them, the answers were predictably lame.
I decided at the time not to give them a bad review, since a close relative had recommended them. But when I saw the current one-star reviews, I felt it was time to speak out. Sorry, but they were among the worst to deal with.

Simply amazing - this is the best cross-country moving experience that my wife and I have ever had! We are military so we move back and forth across the country every few years and we have had the full range of moving quality. Isaac's is definitely at the top of them all! They did not break or lose a thing, they were so very fast and courteous, and to our surprise, they took every box and bit of paper from the house when they were finished greatly reducing our already huge task of moving into an new home a country away from where we had come from.
After research, I learned that all of Isaac's movers are put through a training program where they learn standard methods and it showed - some of there tricks were ingenious, like using the old cores from the rolls of tape to create a secure container for smaller furniture parts and then affixing that container to the appropriate furniture. If I ever have to do another big move, I will RUN to these guys first!

Moving from MA to SC since they were local and I saw them on the road all the time we chose them After they came out to to a primarily list of what we Were taking. Went down hill from there had to call To see if they could do it on the date I requested told they were busy and would get back to me. When we Signed all the paperwork asked when did we want delivery said 3 days. It's in paperwork that takes 3-14 Days told verbally & on phone never takes 14 days took 12. Had to call again to find out delivery date got a lot Of reasons why the dates kept changing for delivery.
When finally arrived only driver & mover was 3 to load Truck in MA but the 2 did a better job unloading. A lot Of boxes had no tags that they put on with name & address lamp was crushed & glass broke. Had to spend A lot of money at hotel waiting for them had I known it Would of used other company. This is just the short version of our experience Won't use them again or Tell anyone to hire them.

Run! Never will use this company again. So many items damaged, some of which cannot be replaced. One box is missing, with no explanation. We took out full coverage insurance, so let's see how that works. So stressful having to deal with this after moving from Houston to San Diego. This company sucks.

I didn't have the best of experiences with Isaacs. My move involved picking up items from my house and storing them for five months, then picking up items from my apartment, and moving everything from the Boston area to Florida. Despite the fact that they picked up the last items on March 1st, they didn't deliver everything to Florida until March 13th.
They sat on my belongings for almost two weeks hoping to pick up other loads for the trip so that they could make additional money (and I had almost a full truckload and they were charging me a lot of money for the move). While technically they met the last date of their delivery window, they gave me a timeframe of March 5th through 13th for the ultimate drop off (so they delivered on the last day that they could).
When I spoke with the General Manager, he told me that I should be happy that they met their obligations as he said many movers don't and just make empty promises. I didn't feel that he really tried to do anything to help other than give me the party line. Furthermore my couch was eaten by rodents while in their storage facility. I paid extra for full insurance coverage and they initially said that the rodent damage didn't happen with them (which was impossible since they inspected the couch and wrapped it in plastic when they picked it up).
They initially gave me a run around about paying the claim and then took forever to reimburse me. Again, ultimately I got paid for the damaged couch but it was not a good experience and they made me jump through hoops. Lastly they lost several boxes and said that they weren't responsible since I didn't identify the lost boxes at the time of the final delivery.
I had over 160 boxes in total and was so busy just telling the delivery team where to put the boxes there was no way that I could keep track of them all. They talk about the fact that they have an inventory system to track each box but it clearly failed with me. Ultimately I'd say they did a fair job. Not great, not the worst. In the final analysis I wouldn't ever use them again and wouldn't recommend them to others.
The delay in the final delivery (despite the fact that they met their last day obligation), the poor response from the general manager, the damage to my couch and the runaround on the claim (when I paid for full insurance coverage) and the lost boxes made for a less than stellar experience.

We loved Isaac's! My daughter and son in law recently moved from Boston to San Diego and I helped them with the move. They selected Isaac's after looking at several companies. They liked that Isaacs is national and uses their own trucks and movers the whole way. Everything was great. The interface online was always timely and easy. We loved the office staff.
The whole process went smoothly and on time. The packers were great. The total weight estimate was pretty accurate (10% below actual). The delivery was on time and smooth. We had a great response on one damaged item and some other questions.

If you're looking for a true partner in your future move - a company who cares just as much about your belongings and timeframe as you do - look no further. I moved from Boston, MA to Washington DC. From the initial conversation about my items (thank you Owen!), to working closely with the moving coordinator (you were amazing, Donna) to the moving team who picked up and delivered (Sherman, you and your team rocked!) - they ALL demonstrated the utmost professionalism.
And the follow-up throughout the process was superb. Anytime I had a question - I actually got to speak to a person over the phone, who was always patient, informative and helpful. Thank you Isaac's team!

By far the best moving experience I have ever had. From the initial contact to the move today they were awesome. Rob in the office managed the process great. The crew was outstanding. They worked hard the entire time and managed through the snow that was left over from last weeks storm. They even finished an hour early. This is our 5th move with movers and they put all previous experiences to shame. I can't recommend them highly enough, five stars if still too few!

This was our original review posted in 2014 (one we'd taken down through the arbitration process, but happily re-post now that the legal proceedings have concluded): Isaacs Moving & Storage may be the single worst moving company EVER. We spent over $6000 for moving and another nearly $500 for full replacement value insurance. They managed to break four items and the items they broke were very valuable.
We thought it would be easy to process a claim with them and their insurance company Anthem (I mean that IS what they promised when they sold us the insurance), but we have been strung out to dry and have spent the past 12 months fighting through arbitration to be paid the replacement value for the four items they destroyed. There's STILL no end in sight. AVOID ISAACS AT ALL COST!
Pick any other company and you'll be better off than you would be with these liars, cheaters, and thieves. They should be absolutely embarrassed to call themselves a "trusted" company. What a joke! They claim our broken items were "old" and have little to no value. Yes.the fact that they are old is absolutely true. Antiques are indeed, old. Each of the broken items was collected in far away lands - South Africa, Indonesia, and Greece. Isaacs valued replacement costs based on information they found on eBay.
They might as well have used Wal-Mart.com. No disrespect to Wal-Mart, but that seems about the only type of value Isaacs seems to understand. Everything MUST be replaceable online, right? No regard at all is given to the true value of rare and cultured artifacts. What a shame to have to write this review. MAY 2015 UPDATE After nearly 18 months of fighting with Isaac's Moving & Storage, our arbitration has drawn to a close. I'm happy to report that despite all of the misrepresentations placed in front of the judge, Isaac's has lost.
They are being held fully responsible for all of the damage they caused. We've just received our settlement award today. A word to anyone who has issues with a moving company trying to shirk their responsibilities to consumers.fight the good fight. I realize an 18-month arbitration process might seem daunting, but that's what every moving company is counting on - your fear that it's just not worth the time and energy. But trust me.if you are right, justice finds a way to prevail.

After having a really bad experience, which I posted here back in 2008 when I moved from Boston to Atlanta the owner mysteriously reached out to me in December 2012 due to him reading the bad review on Yelp. He pulled my file (which they still had) and reviewed what was claimed for damages and tried to make things right. I was impressed that he had this level of diligence and went through all of the file and determined that the settlement was not fair.
He offered to try to make things right (essentially doubling the $250 they gave me for damaging my belongings, even though I spent a lot of insurance). Just that alone is worth me changing my review. It's not often that you see owners who actually care about the business and that customers are satisfied. Granted this took over 4 years, but I was impressed none the less. It doesn't help my poor experience in 2008, but it makes me happy that they tried to make it right eventually.
