I moved with Walter's transfer recently and I cannot recommend them enough. A friend actually recommended them after having a good experience. They were so accommodating and helpful and made the very stressful process of moving so much easier. They were communicative throughout the whole thing and the movers did such a great job even with my larger and more difficult to move pieces. Mike was so helpful and guided me through the whole process and answered my (many, many) questions when he came to do an estimate. I highly recommend Walter's if you're looking for a good mover in LA!

Walter's overperformed and were the most reasonably priced movers we found. We had to move quickly (5 days), and I couldn't believe my good fortune when I called Mike Opus and he confirmed that they could facilitate packing and moving our home in that time. I asked for the A team and we definitely received it. Frank led his crew with grace, efficiency and patience.
Everything arrived safely and quickly and we cannot speak highly enough of this choice for moving and organizational skillset. They didn't charge us for some extras and took the boxes away with them. Even though they worked a 13 hour day, all six of the team were vaccinated, wore masks, had good humor and made it happen.

We liked Mike and trusted him with our cross country move, out of Los Angeles. There were a few hiccups, as seems apparent in just about every business in these Covid-dominated times, but in the end we got our stuff--or at least most of it and what we were missing Mike very honorably replaced. That is no small thing--and we salute him for it as well as for the good nature and competence of almost all of the people who work for him directly.

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! In 2019 this company moved me and stored my things in their so-called warehouse overnight, which I paid $120 plus for, because they moved me out one day and was supposed to move me in the next day - that's how we scheduled it. One of my large, specially marked boxes with over $7000 of brand new, never worn designer label clothes was stolen from their truck overnight in their locked warehouse.
I know damn well this was an inside job and my things were stolen by one of their workers and when I called the owner, Mike, multiple times to complain and ask him to investigate the theft, he was highly dismissive of me telling me my box "probably got taken to the dump site!" He claimed they didn't even have a camera system to monitor the truck where consumer's things are stored. I intend to pursue this matter legally!

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY I never leave reviews, let alone bad ones but if this can save the headache and heartache of even one family then I'm glad I wrote this. We moved cross country and entrusted Walter's to move our things. It is now day 43 and we still have nothing. We have been given excuse after excuse as to why our things aren't here and that's only after we bug them by leaving messages, emails multiple phone calls. Allegedly 2 different moving trucks broke down, one driver quit in the middle of moving things and another driver was arrested and our things were taken to a tow yard.
All of our items have been transferred truck to truck multiple times, there's no way we're going to get all of our belongings if any at all. Things like a couch and TV can be replaced but what hurts the most is all of our daughter's school pictures, artwork and every other sentimental item that can't be replaced. Walter's is a family business they claim but have proven they don't care about families whatsoever.
We have been completely put on the backburner. I understand a mishap, but for us to have to go a month and a half sleeping on the ground of an empty house and being forced to purchase many items we already own is just ridiculous. We have contacted the Department Of Transportation as well as the BBB and the next steps after that is a lawyer but I hope it doesn't come to that.
We just want our things. We have been told the middle of next week we'll get our belongings but this isn't the first, second or even third time we've heard this. So please, spare yourself the time and frustration and look for another company to transport your belongings.

PLEASE READ FOR DETAILED TIMELINE ABOUT THE HORRIFIC NIGHTMARE I AM LIVING! I reached out to Walter's transfers in February. The owner met with me and gave me the quote to move out of state. The quote was lower than any other company, but I read good reviews online for this company - so I didn't think too much of it. BEWARE! The movers came on time, packed up everything neatly, and took MY WHOLE LIFE'S COLLECTION.
I was met with kindness and the goodwill of man just to be dragged through this nightmare I call WALTER'S TRANSFERS for the next 6 weeks and counting. I was originally quoted 7-14 business days before delivery date. I didn't mind the timeline, I know it takes time to move across the states, that's not unheard of. Then after 14 days, I call the company and they have NO IDEA where our items are.
All they know is that the items made it to Arizona. I get a call back later stating that the truck has broken down and towed back to Los Angeles. What I would later find out is that the truck tipped over and was completely wrecked with all the windows blown out and damaged to the side of the truck. I was also told that the driver walked away from the truck to get medical attention, but I'm wondering if the driver may have been under the influence? 2 Weeks after this, Ive been told that our driver, Manchester, was ARRESTED in New Mexico and that our items went back to a tow yard.
My items were taken on April 17, 2021 and WEREN'T DELIVERED UNTIL JUNE 1ST! THAT'S 6 WEEKS (45 days to be exact). Everything gets unloaded to find that 20-30 BOXES/ITEMS ARE COMPLETELY MISSING including: King size bed frame, dining table and chairs, floor lamps, an enterainment center, shelving units, big bins of halloween and christmas decorations, boxes of exercise equipment, anything that was in my medicine cabinet, my makeup/hair items, my wedding dress, boxes of custom framed pictures of my child's school pictures.
I AM DEVASTATED! I AM HEARTBROKEN! I was given an insurance claim number to find out after speaking with insurance company that a claim has been settled with the claimant and I CANNOT MAKE A CLAIM. I am out $20,000 OR MORE and this company, WALTER'S TRANSFERS DOES NOT CARE. THE OWNER, MIKE WILL IGNORE YOUR CALLS/EMAILS/TEXT MESSAGES BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT WOULD COST HIM MONEY TO REPLACE THE MISSING ITEMS. HE HAS DONE NOTHING, I REPEAT NOTHING, TO HELP IN THIS SITUATION - HE ASKS OTHER STAFF MEMBERS TO MAKE HIS PHONE CALLS WHILE HE IS IN THE OFFICE SO HE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PART OF THIS CRAZINESS. Please do yourself a favor and take heed when using this company! DON'T TRUST THEIR LIES.

Was one hour 13 minutes late, quoted me one price on the phone when they got here the price went up. They was not prepared, they did not have the tools to unhook my stove. They left 20 minutes before me and I still beat them to destination of my move. The dented up my brand new refrigerator. I had to call the gas company when I at my residence because the stove was hooked up wrong and gas was leaking which cost me more money.
The came highly recommended but I wish I would of never use them. My brand new refrigerator is ruined because of these people and the worker also didn't want to wear a mask especially how many people have died from COVID-19 we had to enforce the mask wearing policy. I suggest to use them not at all

The moving team did not disappoint for our move to a new single family home within Los Angeles. They were punctual, kind, worked hard, professional, and their experience really showed! No damage to our belongings. And they honored the original price that was quoted. With other moving companies in the past, we've had some pretty negative experiences. But that was not the case this time. Overall, a very pleasant experience, the way moving should be.

Be aware when you hire this company they dont tell you about all of the charges upfront. I called them up and told them about my move and how i had to move my belongings to 2 seperate locations. They said not a problem we will charge you hourly and asked for 4 people to help move stuff that we had already boxed up. they arrived and were very pleasant, i asked for extra insurance and they did not inform me of any other costs. they told me my move should have been 2 trucks and 6 people.
The gentleman i spoke with on the phone never recommended this option but thats a whole different story. When it was time for lunch they asked me to buy them lunch, i didnt hesitate and i went. They sat took their lunch and they went back to work. At the end of the job, they charged me for their lunch hour, they charged me for multiple destination, which they never notified me about and they wanted $150. for packaging costs.
I had already packed everything myself with my own boxes and my own tape. when they came in they grabbed shrink wrap and just started wrapping everything extra probably since i asked for the extra insurance. I refused to sign the paperwork with the driver. The driver then proceeded to call his manager or boss when then negotiated with me a price that i still was not happy with and they left. Please note, they charged me for their lunch hour, why is this fair? 2 days after the move the company called me and harassed me for more money. Do not use this company
