AVOID at all cost - DO NOT use this company! Our family has done five military moves in the last decade, and due to Suddath this has been by far the worst. Nightmare would be an understatement. We didn't find out that they outsourced our packing/pick-up to a 3rd Party Agency until the local moving company arrived to our house. Suddath never assigned a driver (and still hasn't) to our shipment and failed to notify us of this issue. They've now missed the contracted RDD delivery date and still have no driver assigned to our shipment.
When pressed, they cannot even give us an ETA or explain why we've gone half a month without our household goods thus far. What they are doing is borderline criminal - taking on more government HHG shipping contracts than they can handle or service, in order to make a profit, at the expense of military families. All our belongings are still sitting in the back of a trailer in a local shipping company parking lot, where they've been for weeks, subjected to the heat and humidity of the south. We've tried reaching out to the movement coordinators multiple times, and get the same excuses: "no driver has been assigned yet, we'll call you when we find one." There are multiple other families who were forced assigned Suddath who have been waiting close to a month (some longer) for their goods to arrive or a driver assigned.
And they are just as frustrated, as their kids and families sleep on air mattresses and eat dinner off the floor. I will change/update this review if Suddath immediately addresses these concerns and delivers my items like they were paid to do. As you can tell I'm very frustrated and upset by this terrible service.

Sorry for the long post. I am PCSing and Suddath is the company that has the contract to move my Household Goods (HHG). Suddath contracted another moving company to actually pack up and ship my HHG to my next duty station. On 6 June 2022, the packers arrived to my resident to pack my HHG which was a two day event. On the second day, they finished and had me sign an IPAD that had the inventory of my HHG.
Not once anything was mentioned about my High Value items. When I asked, they said that the movers would handle those items. From this, it made me look deeper into this issue. When I looked at all of the boxes they packed, the boxes I know had High Value items in them was labeled with generic names. For example, a firearm that I'm shipping was labeled black Army tote.
So if something happens with HHG and I put in a claim for my firearm, it is more than likely not going to be honored because it is not listed anywhere on my inventory. On 8 June 2022, the movers came and started loading the truck with my HHG. Once they finished, I again was asked to sign the IPAD with my HHG inventory. I noticed this time the staff member skip over the High Value list and it had nothing on it so I asked why was the list blank.
He stated that I didn't tell him what was considered High Value. Once I named off things that I wanted on the list, he refused to add some of the items. He stated " Because I don't know what the packers packed, I can't add them but If you call Suddath, they can add them." On 9 June 2022, I called Suddath numerous times until I got someone.
When I explained to them what happened or didn't happen, I was told that there is nothing they can do since the inventory has already been signed which is unfair to me due to them giving me false information. The lady I spoke with stated that she will speak with her supervisor and they will call me back which never happened. On 10 June 2022, I called back to speak with someone about this issue and to hopefully get it fixed.
When I finally got someone on the phone, they stated that it is nothing they can do at this point because they don't know if I'm lying or not about what I'm trying to add to the High Value list. She also tried to reassure me that my HHG would be fine. I'm not comfortable with that AT ALL! So now this place have all of my and my family's HHG and none of the High Value items are being tracked (outside of what I told him and what he was willing to add). It is sad that I just have to hope for the best for ALL of my HHG to arrive at my next duty station in good condition.

I completely understand trucks breaking down, bad weather, and a driver shortage delaying a move. What I am not happy with is the misinformation and lack of communication I have received. We are a military family that had our household goods picked up November 18th in San Diego today is December 28th and we still do not have our household goods in NC.
It isn't even peak PCS season. First we were told it was in transit, then a week passes we are told the truck is still in the shop with multiple problems. We were never told it was in the shop to begin with. Then we were told the following week after that it would be picked up the next day. Well no surprise a week later we get a call only because I reached out via social media and they said the truck is broken and there waiting for it to be repaired.
We asked if they have other moving trucks and then she says well it "could be "because of a driver shortage. We asked where it was and it is still in CA so it obviously didn't make it very far. These answers aren't good enough anymore because it keeps changing daily. I'm a reasonable person I understand our things are not here that part is easy to see I look around and I have an empty house.
I just want honest answers and better communication. They also said yesterday they would be emailing my husband about an ICC payment but he still hasn't received that form. We are a family of 7 my kids ages range from 5-14 one of my kiddos is having such a hard time moving and if he could just have his things and his bed it would make the world of a difference and I don't have a straight answer for him, a child doesn't understand that and I as an adult don't understand that, and try having a family of 7 without their washing machine for a month. Read all the wives reviews on the fb PCS pages. Hoping I can save some family from this unprofessional company.

I am going to give Suddath an updated review. While the situation we experienced was not okay and I wish it hadn't happened in the first place they did everything they could to make it right. And making it right they did. I give Laura the customer service supervisor 5 stars. She worked hard for us and validated our concerns. Her customer service was fantastic. We appreciate that, thank you!

We have had a HORRIBLE experience with this company. We are a military family and we have not seen our belongings since June 14th. Two months without any of our things. They were supposed to deliver it 13 days ago and they "can't find a driver" to deliver. I've called and called and it's the same answer every time. No one is doing anything about it, no one is trying to help our family, no one is doing their job. It's just disgraceful. Their customer service is horrible and the fact that they can't perform their job is so ridiculous. Don't waste your time with this company.

This moving company was assigned to me by the military (I didn't have a choice despite the negative reviews here). We got mixed reviews from others in the area who had both good and bad experiences. My shipment was for a large quantity of wine (perishable). We shipped it in April, with a required delivery date in June, but we were confident based on past experience with overseas moves of this size that it should arrive late May to early June (we hoped).
As of writing this (July 29 2021) we still have not received the shipment, and the customer service people have been completely uninterested in helping or even showing any sign of sympathy beyond the standard form letters (here, fill out this inconvenience claim, which we will summarily decline I'm sure). I finally got fed up with my last conversation where yet again no help was offered to file a complaint with the FMCSA.
I had no idea how to do anything like that until today. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I will make it my mission to make sure they do not get military contracts in the future if possible.

I would give this zero stars. This company is absolutely horrid. They don't care about the families they deal with let alone the stuff they have. They lost two crates full of things I cannot replace after 30 days of "searching". I am almost 100% sure they didn't even try to search for it. I don't understand how a business could call itself one without checking in on the client, keeping them updated on the search even if it's just a "we're still searching", and then find a way to help when items that can't be replaced are "lost".
This is literally the bare minimum of customer service. It's not a luxury to get this treatment; it's basic human decency. It's in the warehouse in Jacksonville because it never made it on the boat. There is no registration of it getting on the boat nor arriving at our destination. I know it's there and they are just not choosing to look.
How do you not register this? How do you not log it? How are you going to continue to make this entire experience even more painful by saying the things we had are not worth what we're asking for? This company makes millions and they have the audacity to say "no" to our claim? Like it'll put them under because of it? Just write to us and say you don't care and save everyone time.
These reviews speak volumes. It's not a unique experience. It's a constant occurrence. This company doesn't care. Don't buy into the "thoughtful" responses on here because the only reason they do it is to prove that they "reached out to help". Trust me when I say, that reach out will lead you nowhere because, conveniently, no one answers the phone or they forget to call you.
They don't care. At all. I would love what the president and GM has to say about this. Considering that his little blurp on the website is: Dick is a transformative business leader and ensures safety and quality customer experiences are the best. What an embarrassment to the family business.

They were great before signing the contract and picking up my stuff then the nightmare started. They delayed day after day letting my stuff sit in a warehouse. Finally arriving 10 days late. Of course they broke the leg off an attic I have. I took out insurance but they found a way around that, fine print. Pick someone else.

From start to finish and everything in between this was the smoothest move we have ever had and this is our 12th move. Suddath (United Van Lines) gets +A for keeping us informed and making us feel truly appreciated throughout the entire process. As I stated earlier we have moved several times and I can assure they were not always easy but I truly feel we could not have asked for a better company to handle our furniture and belongings.

I have had 5 household good moves in the last 10 years and this was by far the worst move I've had. Multiple items broken with very little offered to me in return. The claims process has taken over 4 months now. I have given up and decided to take their lowball offer just because I don't want to keep the broken items in my garage anymore. If you have the choice, don't go with this company. I would give them 0 stars.

I was able to have the same guy throughout the whole process which really made a difference in organization, in my opinion. Johnathan and his crew packed and loaded my stuff in KCMO. Johnathan then drove my freight to Delaware and unloaded it with another local crew. Johnathan was a true professional and had great communication with me the whole time.
I only have 4 stars because I had a couple of broken items that were not packed adequately. I have worked with other moving companies and this was a good experience. I would recommend them.

I truly wish I could put no star at all. Unfortunately I can't. I'm currently still waiting for my household goods (from NC to OR). I was told by their driver that my goods would be here a week from pickup AT THE LATEST. It's been 2 weeks now and I drove across the country like a crazy person based on what he told me. Then they could even get ahold of the driver at all.
Now my household goods won't get here for another week. This company is trash. If you are looking for good service look elsewhere. I'll update when my stuff actually gets here. I can't wait to see the condition of my belongings after 3 weeks in a truck.

03/01/2020 I am in middle of moving agreement with Suddath where they had packed up belongings, the verbal agreement was that the invoice to be paid when the property had sold. Unfortunately due to market conditions the property has not sold and I am in a conflict with Suddath. Suddath is choosing to threaten my credit rating over working out a compromise.
I will update this as the move continues. Very difficult situation, our family has been without there belongings for past 7 months and now just what I need is conflict with moving company.

I'm not sure what was worse, the crew they sent out to pack our household goods or their customer service once I filed a claim for all of the damage to my household goods. Find someone else and failing that, try building a giant slingshot to launch your things across the country. In that case, your stuff will still arrive broken, but at least the slingshot would be fun to use.
After reading a number of other reviews, I should add some detail to help clarify my complaints. For starters, it's worth pointing out that mine is another military move. I still haven't received a settlement from the company (8 months later) and they denied my claim on a set of rare books packed improperly and damaged during the move (I was literally told that they are old books and I should expect them to have some wear and tear).
In terms of packing, the company arrived with improper materials. I have a large collection of books, a point made explicit by the pre-move inspector (as in, "you have a lot of books so we'll need to make certain that we have a lot of book boxes"). The packers arrived without any book boxes--not a single one. As a result, many of our books were packed into oversized boxes and improperly at that.
They also did not have any television boxes for my two flat screen televisions. Instead, they packed the two of them into a motorcycle box. Prior to the move, I called Suddath to complain about the state of the packing in general and the televisions in particular. The representative from the company informed me that "I could just file a claim if anything were broken." It's worth noting that it took me several days of phone calls to even get in contact with someone at the company, which has been a consistent problem throughout this move.
The company has made clear that many of their difficulties this past summer were a result of not having enough drivers available. I wish I had been so fortunate. All of my problems have been the result of Suddath having a driver available for my move.

We are planning a local move but will not use this mover mainly because after a in-home survey of our household goods, we never received the written estimate. The sales rep, Perry was fine. He quoted one of the lowest hourly rates out 9 movers we talked to. They were actually in our top three based on what he said. But needless to say if they can't follow through on an estimate I would not want to trust them with the actual move.

This company only cares about taking money from the government for mandatory military moves. They are not concerned about the military families at all. I don't care if it's a busy PCS time, if they can't handle the loads, then they shouldn't keep scheduling them. The government already throws tons of money away on unnecessary expenses and this company shouldn't be taking advantage of that at the servicemembers' expense!

Subpar experience with this military move. Suddath moving co was assigned to me on 16 Nov, and scheduled me pack/pick up date of 14 Dec. - A pack/pick up 3rd party agency was assigned, and conducted a walkthrough on 19 nov to confirm our estimated weight. - On 13 Dec the movers arrived. They were unexpected and we were not prepared to proceed with the packing.
We had the 14th circled on our calendar and had a list of things we still needed to prepare. After calling the local moving company and Suddath, We came to the conclusion that the email informing suddath of the time change(needing 2 days the 13th/14th)went to someone's inbox at suddath who had not been at work for a while, therefore the news of the change never made its way to my family.
After speaking to my suddath rep, all I got was a " well we're verry sorry about this" but sorry only carries so much weight. My 4 mo pregnant wife and I and had 2 hours to get our stuff semi ready, all while having our kids with us (Childcare was lined up for the 14th). Absolutely a stress filled day, that no one took sincere responsibility for.

Add the Taylor family to the list of military families being emotionally abused by Suddath. I, too, would give negative stars if that was an option. We're nearly a month past the required delivery date (RDD) that we agreed to, which is more than a week after the real RDD. We have family in Texas, we went to visit them and give this company time to resolve our situation. Did they do anything? No. Zero communication. Ignored emails.
All we are hearing is "driver shortage" and peak military move season, which, nearly a month after the RDD only sounds like more lies. We had to tell them where our stuff was, TWICE! I may not be able to affect much change, but I will do what I can to make sure nobody we know in the Army willingly accepts this company for their move. With another week to wait before our belongings are delivered, I'll update this review. They are assisting with our inconvenience claim, but that's because another military family blew this story wide open on the CBS affiliate in Jacksonville, FL.

Overall I was satisfied with the level of expertise and professionalism that the company displayed, as well as the way conducted themselves throughout the process of our move. I liked the fact that my representative kept in constant communication with me and responded quickly to any requests for information that I had. The only reason I did not give them a five star rating is that upon delivery of our household goods there were missing boxes.
I feel the reason for this is because the delivery process was very rushed making it difficult for my wife and I to keep up with all the items coming off the truck. It is unfortunate that this type of error happens but is human.

This moving company is highly professional, addressed all our concerns promptly, delivered our household goods much earlier than the expected delivery date which helped eased our transition to our new place, making our PCS less stressful. Ms. Abdi answered all my queries and was very helpful every step of the way. Every household good that was shipped arrived in good condition and the phone calls for follow-ups were consistent and timely. I would highly recommend this moving company! Excellent work!

Don't waste your money. We had a local move with storage. Should not have been a big deal. As it turns out, it was. Our belongings were loaded neatly onto the truck by a very polite and careful crew. They get 5 stars. We were led to believe that the load was going to the storage facility and would be loaded just as professionally into crates the next day.
That didn't happen. They offloaded the truck to a space on the floor where it sat for weeks. Then it was loaded into crates. When the crates arrived, it was the most unbelievable experience. They had heavy furniture on top of chairs. Heavy boxes were stored on top of lamp shade boxes. Furniture was gouged. Boxes were crushed. The offloading crew said that the warehouse crew just "threw stuff into the crates." Throughout the process, the sales people and customer service reps were the most unhelpful, nonresponsive I've ever encountered. The one good thing? They paid the claim. But it wasn't worth the cost of doing business with them.

I'd give this company negative stars if I could! We were assigned this company through a military move and it has been nothing but problems. Our moving truck wrecked on its way to the storage unit- they told us it was MINOR! A fender bender-We may find a few broken pieces but most everything should be fine- We said OK- Accidents happen! The driver was ok- things can be replaced.
Our stuff then SAT IN STORAGE FOR 6 MONTHS- THEY HAD 6 MONTHS TO SEND SOMEONE OUT TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE DAMAGE or ask us to meet them there to assess the damage- They did nothing- either due to incompetence or trying to hide the fact that our stuff was all ruined! Fast forward to the end of that 6 months when we can finally take back our HHG and it is all SMASHED! Boxes smashed- furniture splintered and cracked, appliances with massive dents in them or broke in half- mattresses have road rash- ROAD RASH! OUR MATTRESSES SLID ACCROSS THE HIGHWAY! THIS WAS NOT A MINOR ACCIDENT! Then, it gets better!
We file the claims for what we can account for- there is plenty of things that we didn't even include in our claim because some of the stuff we cant decipher what it once was! They have 60 days to finalize the offer- day 55, without ever sending an appraiser to check it out- Over 15k in damaged items and they come back and offer us $5300! YOUR DRIVER WRECKED THE TRUCK AND YOU WANT TO OFFER ME $5300! ARE YOU OFF YOUR ROCKER?!?!
I will make it my life's mission to get you removed from the military move system- THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! Thank God we have supportive friends and family- but if you were to do this to a lower enlisted soldier with no support to fall back on!? YOUR COMPANY DISGUSTS ME! FIDI will also be receiving a formal complaint from us as well!

My account was recently acquired by Suddath after nearly 10 years. In late August I decided to close out my storage unit and requested to have my contents delivered. In the correspondence I received to alert me of the acquisition I was given a contact number if I had any questions, the number was to the corporate office. I spent most of the month trying to tract down the local representative to initiate this process, in late August I finally reached a representative, Jocelyn Pacheco.
From late August through September we have exchanged multiple emails regarding my account, I have requested a balance of my acount to include my delivery charges but all I have gotten was a number of excuses. When I finally receieve a bill the charges were incorrect, remember I have been trying to resolve this matter since August while still being assessed fees for the unit.
I received another bill today which takes my account through October, you can imagine my frustration. I tried to get my contents delivered on September 24, now the date is October 29. I have reached out to the cooporate office and still no resolution. I am committed to updating my dissatisfaction until this matter is resolved. Poor customer service and response to customer all played a huge role in my review of this company.

Communication could've been a little better. Overall 4 stars though. Jill Glover was my coordinator, was paramount in my successful military PCS move over 2,000 miles. Movers were coordinated for my pack and pick date as I requested. My delivery date was within my desired days and everything went smoothly.

This move was our last military move and Suddath provided a great experience from start to finish. Our packing crew showed up early and were very professional and quick. The house was packed and on the moving truck in one day. It arrived in storage at our new destination within a week and delivered within a few days after our arrival on the other end. I highly recommend them for those that want efficient and expedited service. Thank you Suddath!

Our military relocation happened very fast from receiving orders to packing and The service we were provided with was fantastic from start to finish. The move was from KS to TX. The staff packed promptly and carefully. We were lucky as we had the same guys at both locations. When unpacking they were again prompt and very careful. We could not have asked for anything more. Thank you for your assistance we would most definitely use this company again.
