Yankee Self-Storage

I returned a long-distance one-way Uhaul vehicle to this location after moving to town. The woman at the desk goes above and beyond and was exceptionally helpful.

Called them about renting a trailer, Went to voice mail, they never called me back

I couldn't have been happier with the service and the van we rented from Yankee. Jessica was very accommodating and professional. I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to everyone.

Rented a U-Haul. No fuss, easy and straightforward. Truck was in good shape. I bought the option for them to refill a few gallons of gas for me and they didn't give me any trouble when I brought it back in low.

Customer service sucks! Fighting with them to get my deposit back after leaving. Had to call Consumer Protection because they keep making excuses. Still waiting!

Had confirmed Uhaul rental. Arrived at the appointed time (4 on Monday) to find a sign on door that they decided to close that weekend, from Saturday until Tuesday. Called them and was sent to voicemail. Luckily Uhaul was able to find another truck for me in the general area so we avoided a big headache. Yankee Self Storage never returned my call.

Nothing fancy. Just simple, reliable and well priced storage.

Rented van or small truck over a dozen times primarily for retailer conventions, sometimes home projects. Always helpful, easy to work with. Convenient, safe location. Even when she was out of vehicles--because I frequently call at the last minute--she helped me find other locations with vehicles. Would be five stars but we once got a van that had a lot of spilled oil in the back (maybe someone hauled a motor?).

Even after extensive wiping down, we had to destroy several blankets to make it usable, with no time to make other plans. Not offered a discount. Would not accept a van in that condition again.

Terrible experience, storage units are old wooden structures, handle actually fell off unit when I went to open it and unit was wet inside. I had to immediately request a refund and use a different vendor. Very disappointing experience.

These were the worst storage units I've ever seen! I seriously don't understand how any of them get tented. The wooden doors were rotting, with pieces missing, the soaces were moldy a d there were big fungi growing on thresholds. Not putting my belongings in there!

It took three phone calls from me, followed by one from the Consumer Protection Division of the District Attorney's office, before Yankee Realty and Self Storage would refund the deposit I paid to rent a storage locker (which, after I swept it of the dirt and debris and removed the old cobwebs I found there, I left in better condition than I found it).

After the Consumer Protection Division's involvement, Yankee refunded my deposit, yet offered no apology or explanation for the lengths I had to go through to receive it. This is a real estate and self-storage company. If it is so dishonest in its relations with those to whom it rents storage lockers, with such little money involved, how does the company behave in its real estate transactions? Avoid it.
