Yes, shipping is costly, but all options are shown and their recommendations make sense. We just shipped large pieces of framed artwork out of the country. I not only send a decent amount of mail and parcels globally, but I also deal with lots of last minute projects. Mailboxes is always helpful, open just for those panic moments when I need them, and has knowledgeable, courteous staff. Every visit is efficient without being rushed, and every question is answered politely (without being insufferably sweet), no matter how silly.

They have packaging, stamps, PO boxes, and more--there isn't much I can't get there, and I definitely don't miss the Downtown Post Office since the service here is so much better!

I have used Mailboxes for years. Its worth driving over from North Liberty to use. The service is friendly efficient and helpful. Just today I needed items boxed up to ship. They helped in choosing the correct size box and offered the best choice on shipping a smaller item. If you haven't used Mailboxes your missing out.

Employees are SO helpful and kind. They went above and beyond to help me figure out the best weight and packaging to ship something internationally. They make the whole mailing process easy and I feel like my packages are in safe hands! Honestly the best post office I've ever gone to! Tip: Use the free 1 hour parking at the Dubuque Street Ramp parking garage across the street. This place is literally right in front of it!

Mailboxes has phenomenal knowledge and customer service, for both personal and commercial mailing/shipping. They always do their best to provide complete info on your available options and price points, and they are always courteous. They went the extra mile for me many times while I was in charge of mailing for a commercial employer, boxing and looking after very large quantities of outgoing mail, and frequently checking in so I wouldn't lose any incoming packages. I recommend them to everyone.

I am an artist in Iowa City who ships fragile artwork in the US and abroad. In 12 years of experience with shipping companies I have NEVER encountered a business so helpful, knowledgeable, and hardworking as the crew at Mailboxes. These guys are AMAZING. Today I arrived needing bulk shipping supplies, and they literally drove to their warehouse to pick up what they didn't have in stock in the store for me.

They know exactly how to help, and can even prepare supplies for you ahead of time if you email them. I would give them 10 stars if I could - this is literally the best shipping place I've ever encountered anywhere, and I've shipped from locations all over the country. Not great for parking at, but a good business for mailing needs. I rented a mailbox, and can call in to see if I have mail, which is cool. And my Amazon packages are safe, they text me when I have a package, can sign for deliveries for me. I work nights and sleep days, so it's a nice convenience.

In and out lightning quick to drop off a Fed Ex package. Service was great, no complaints. Tricky parking lot, but it's conveniently downtown next to the Ped Mall so at least there's parking, ya know? Would use again!

I love this place. As an avid eBayer, I utilize Mailboxes of Iowa City several times a week, and the service is always fantastic. They have two public computers available for printing (the cost is 11 cents a page), and they'll pack your boxes and attach labels for free if you ship something there. Everyone that works at Mailboxes is nice, professional, and more than competent; I couldn't keep my eBay business afloat without them. Occasionally, I have to go to the post office itself out on Highway 1, but this place is so much more convenient and efficient, so whenever I can, I go here instead. They also have P.O. boxes available and offer a variety of other shipping and receiving services including FedEx and UPS. Check them out!

I've been here several times and the service is top notch! The store is at a busy corner on linn and burlington. There are a few parking spaces in front of shop. Fear not, public garage across corner and free parking for first hour. So get your packaged mailed then stop in at Bread Garden Market or run a few more errands if you've parked in the garage.

Most recently walked in and was immediately serviced by an associate. Two customers were already getting packages ready for mailing. They do it all: UPS, Fedex, USPS, packing, wrapping, pricing, etc. Only negative is they close at 6pm. So get there before the day disappears or drive out to UPS store on Hwy 1.
