Germantown Moving & Storage

I recently used Germantown Moving and Storage to help me empty a storage unit which I rented when I lived in the Washington DC area. I relocated to Florida the year prior to the pandemic and needed advice regarding what to do with the items I had left in that unit. Fortunately, I was referred to this company! They offered excellent guidance and top notch customer service. George (the owner) and Miquel helped me donate and discard the many items which I decided not to move to FLA.

Despite 92-degree temps and some logistical issues on my move-out day, they made the process enjoyable. They also went 'above and beyond' by helping me ship 15 boxes to my new home state via UPS. Everyone I interacted with at this local business was kind and customer focused. I highly recommend them for moving projects in the DMV area :)

I called and received an estimate of $600.00 to move a wine refrigerator and a chair. They gave the wrong address to the driver. He drove to the wrong location and texted me he was lost. I texted him the correct address and then he finally arrived. I was never refunded their travel time from this error of going to the wrong address. Secondly, they did not protect the wall when they moved the chair to the upstairs.

I took a photo of the scuff marks on walls that where just painted. They did not offer to repaint the wall or clean. Overall, the price was very high for only 1 hours worth of work. If I need to move again I don't think I will contact them. When I called to voice my concerns, I was laughed at by the owner.

My wife and I have moved a lot of the last few years, and we've never encountered such a great moving company as Germantown Moving & Storage. The overall excellence exceeded our highest expectations, and they truly delivered 5-star service across the board. If we ever have to move again, we will definitely be using Germantown Moving & Storage, as they have converted us to life-time customers. As I am sure a lot of you know, moving can be very stressful, but with Germantown Moving & Storage, we felt at ease.

They are professional, and I have never seen such precise coordination of efforts to get the job done. The office staff, owners and crew are top notch. I would highly recommend Germantown Moving and storage. This was my second move with them and they were incredible. Tina was great to speak with as she explained everything in detail about the move from pricing to time frame to the amount of movers needed. The 3 movers showed up early. They were easy to work with, efficient and very organized. The final price and time frame were spot on as to what Tina initially explained. There were no hidden fees at the end. Overall, this is a top notch family owned company and they were fantastic!

We used Germantown Moving & Storage to move a fragile, heavy item. They were incredibly professional and took great care in packing and moving it. I love supporting local businesses, and I couldn't have made it through our last move without Germantown Moving & Storage! They helped us every step of the way - from giving advice during the initial consultation, to supplying the packing materials, to packing up our kitchen (and all of the last minute items), to the actual move-in day. Their employees were on time, super friendly, courteous, careful with our belongings, and efficient. I can't say enough about this company - highly recommend!

I've used this company for two local moves, and both times have been wonderful experiences. The initial price and time quotes were very accurate. On moving day (both times) they were on time. They handled everything carefully and communicated well. There were no surprises. During one of the moves, they had to navigate a very narrow staircase in the new home with a ceiling on it.

It was tough to get all the furniture through the staircase. They went so far as to carefully remove the legs from my sofa (using a drill - the legs were screwed on) in order to avoid damaging the sofa or the stairs. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, and I would definitely recommend to others.
