From start to finish our local Atlas representatives--Metropolitan Van & Storage--made what was a stressful out-of-state move (to a home we purchased sight unseen) a much less stressful process. Our in-home consultation with Elizabeth was quick and efficient. The logistics coordination and communication with Elyssa was excellent, particularly when the closing on our house was delayed and our stuff was ready for delivery 2 days before we received the keys.

She went above and beyond to figure out scenarios and a final solution that worked for us, another client, and our driver. Our driver, Brian, was personable and eased any concerns about the handling, transport, and delivery of our household goods. My only complaint is that I had an email issue with both Elizabeth and Elyssa where I consistently got error notices that my messages were delayed and then cancelled. Had to set up an online fax account to get around this which was a bit annoying, but only for the initial paperwork. Would definitely use Atlas for our next move and recommend them to others.

They did come recommended, but I can't figure out why. They tried to over charge us even though we had an agreed upon price. We ended up moving a third of the stuff ourselves just to get previous house cleaned out to better show. They did not put everything away as promised. They quickly just dumped everything and left boxes hidden in garage that were supposed to be placed in bedrooms.

They ignored the damaged items that we pointed out. We are still finding damaged furniture that is not able to be repaired as we unpack the rest of our boxes left in garage. I would not recommend this moving company to anyone.

Estimator was very efficient and thoughtful; office staff were always helpful and able to answer my questions and the crew -- the Lopes Brothers -- did a fabulous job packing, loading and unloading. I moved from California to Texas and this company did a great job. Art was the sales rep who met me at my home and went over everything with me and gave me my quote. Art was very friendly and did a great job. He was easy to get in contact with throughout the whole process and even after I was already moved in. Matt was in charge of the moving and he did a fantastic job.

He was very friendly and professional and his moving crew was very nice and did a fast and great job accommodating my moving needs. The greatest part of working with this company was that due to my own poor planning, I had a few additional boxes to move and Matt so generously met me at the truck yard on his own time and let me load the additional couple boxes into the truck.

All my stuff got to my new home and nothing was damaged. Matt drove it there himself and met with me in my new home and even gave me some local recommendations as he knew the Dallas area a bit. He previously gave me great advice on driving routes and places to stay and eat along the way. Matt was awesome and I would highly recommend working with him to anybody!

KNOW YOUR SHIT PEOPLE! If you call in the movers and your entire house HASN'T BEEN TOUCHED! AND YOU WANT THEM TO PACK EVERY SOCK, PLATE, TOY, BOOK and fido's water bowl! ITS GONNA COST YOU! Pack your shit yourself! Put it in boxes YOURSELF! Put the boxes in the GARAGE! ALL YOUR SHIT! THEN! THEN! When you did ALLL that! Call the estimators. HOW MANY BIG TAG ITEMS YA GOT? CHECK!

How many boxes? CHECK! GUESS WHAT SCHMO? You'll get an honest correct quote! This company is 5*****! Their Estimate ON THE MONEY! The lady told us EVERY WAY POSSIBLE to save money on our move! The truck Showed up ON TIME! The employees Joe and R.J. outta sight! Friendly, Professional, courteous, BEYOND the call in helping seniors! Stayed till the last possible need was met!

The communication with the home office could not have been more clear and comprehensive! We even had to cancel the ORIGINAL date which put us in a NEW PAY MONTH and metro did NOT charge us for any additional charges. I had calculated what this move was going to cost us. At 70 years old.my U-Haul days are far behind me! When my wife called and when all was said and done.our move.

From Dixon to Rio Vista.a 2100 sq ft home and 5 month storage. ME NOT TOUCHING 1 DAMN STICK OF FURNATURE.WAS beyond reasonable.check around and you'll see what I mean.and not one tea cup cracked! Our move was scheduled to span two days. Barry was our estimator and made the assessment seamless and easy. Day 1: Drew and JoJo were our movers and did an extremely thorough and detailed job. Every item was wrapped individually and with multiple layers of paper and labeled accordingly. At the end of day 1, a few items remained to be packed on Day 2.

Day 2: Two different movers arrived, which were RJ and Tom. Immediately, the service declined. Their attitudes were poor and they didn't seem like they wanted to be there. They did not wrap or pack the remaining items and loaded them in the truck as is. Our dining room table and couch was not wrapped or protected but Drew the day prior wrapped and protected our other couch. RJ then put a hole in our wall with a less than 10 pound stand.

Although he called maintenance, nobody was able to make the repair costing us our security deposit. Our washer and dryer arrived scratched and broken. We have broken dishes, broken storage containers, etc. The company was unapologetic & simply informed me what forms were available for a claim. When unloading, the boxes were partially off loaded by room and the remaining large boxes were left in the garage.

The boxes were not offered to be unpacked although we were told the day prior the option would be available. Multiple times, RJ said "we're not usually this sloppy" and continued to do a horrendous job. If booking with this company, I'd ensure RJ and Tom are not allowed anywhere near your belongings. The photos attached are only what we've noticed in the preliminary check of our stuff.

We hired this company after seeing them on multiple occasions moving families out of our neighborhood. Southampton (Benicia) They showed up and took inventory of our home giving us a quote / price guarantee. They told us the price would not go up. The estimator they sent was ill prepared to do her job. The estimator came up with a number of 19,481 lbs. for a cost of $21753.96.

We signed with them based on their price guarantee not to exceed. We actually reduced the items that we were taking with us. Originally we were taking a refrigerator, washer and dryer, foose ball table, kegarator. We chose to leave them behind. So from the original estimate we should have gone down in weight. After they started to load our belongings onto the truck they begin to say that this is more than what was estimated.

They had a higher up come out and my wife ended up signing a change order. Remember they already had our stuff, we were moving, we had a deadline. They charged us an additional $5000 for the move. The price guarantee is not true. The estimator they sent to us was not trained properly. The final weight of the move was 25,380 lbs. They hit us for their mistake in the estimation of the job.

Very poor company practice. They also said they ended up using more boxes then was originally planned after I packed the majority of my house. I cant imagine how much they would have charged us had we not packed the majority of our house up.

It's moving day, we have labeled and organized everything. They send 3 guys; one does paperwork, one moves boxes from the garage to the street and one wraps furniture. Eight hours later nothing is on the truck. A sloth moves faster than these guys. We are held hostage here waiting for this to be done. We need to clean and get out so the family who bought our home can move in. What is happening? We are livid!

Terrible, terrible, terrible. They moved us from California to Florida. Lost 2 big living room chairs plus boxes with shoes, kitchen stuff, business product and supplies. 1 Month after delivery of the main load we still can't get lost pieces. Nobody knows where they are, nobody cares. They play football game with us directing to different people.

I understand things can go wrong, but at least take actions to find out what happened and recover missing pieces. I have 3 families from California moving to Florida, will never recommend this company to them or anybody. Stay away from Metropolitan!

I'd like to give them 5 starts, but, sadly, when moving, communication is a key component. The packers and haulers were awesome - but communication from this company is sorely lacking. Moving is very stressful to begin with, and when communication fails, even more so. I feel our moving coordinator's communication was poor. I was contacted to say delivery would be May 18 or 19.

We were taking possession of our new home on May 19, so I said the 19th would be perfect. Not sure what changed but in an instant the delivery date became May 22 - ONE DAY PAST contract due date. Additionally, our "not to exceed estimate" came in $10 over (which, btw, is a violation of law) which really isn't much, but when I mentioned what our contact said, the comment was ignored.

I mentioned it again when she called me to get my credit card number to pay, and it was again ignored. When I mentioned our contract said "delivery on or before May 21" and you are delivering May 22, my comment was ignored. Also - we paid almost $1,300 to crate four pieces of artwork to be transported and uncrated upon arrival - which they contracted out to a third party - the crating was perfect. However, 10 days after delivery I still hadn't heard from our move coordinator to get these pieces uncrated so I emailed her.

Basically she said she was done with the move - and I had to remind her of the uncrating. NO RESPONSE TO THAT EMAIL. One day later I get a call from a contractor to schedule the uncrating - they informed me they were just asked to do this the day before - of course because I had to remind our coordinator that it needed to be done - and NOTHING from our coordinator apologizing for the oversight or even letting me know I would be contacted to schedule the uncrating.fortunately, I was home. I do recommend this company, however, be prepared to apparently coordinate the move yourself. #atlasvanlines @atlasvanlines @atlas_van_lines

Matt Stockett is the best! His attention to detail and customer service is unparalleled. He was always calm and making sure we were happy. It was a long move after 45 years in calif to end up in Texas. Everybody he brought in to complete the job were courteous and professional. We felt our "stuff" was handled with care. We had many antiques and glassware which traveled with utmost care.

If you are moving short or long haul call Matt! He is the best! We also want to give a shout out to Shane who was with Matt from California to Texas. He was also stellar! They are worth it!

The best move we have ever had! The communication was spot on! From Shawn, our first contact with the company, to Matt our driver, they were in constant touch with us in our move from California back home to Texas. Everyone was very professional, polite, and extremely careful with all our belongings. We got 5 bids on our move. Metropolitan was right in the middle price wise. I truly can not say enough good things about them. If I ever move again(not planning on it) they will be my first call. Thank you for restoring my faith in moving companies!

AWFUL.DO NOT USE. We hired these guys to move one piano, we even purchased the "Full value protection" they offer. These guys dragged the piano down our porch stairs ruining each one as they went along. The management and owner, Rob, Jeff and Dennis, acknowledged they ruined our porch stairs, and stated they would have only their contractor fix it, as he was the "cheapest guy". Owner, Jeff said they would provide a quote.

The quote provided was just a dollar amount with no scope of work attached. We reached out to them via, phone, email and certified mail. No response. We are now taking steps to move to small claims. BEWARE.SEE PHOTOS ATTACHED

As a military family we move often and many times we just cross our fingers and hope for the best when it comes to moving companies. However, we were pleasantly surprised with this moving company. They scheduled in advance and kept in contact with us right up until they pulled into the driveway. The professionalism of Matt and his crew was top notch.

They made sure all of our furniture was secure and put away properly. They even re wrapped some of our priceless pieces at the origination to ensure that it made it safely to us. That was greatly appreciated! We highly recommend this moving company for all of your moving needs. Hopefully we are able to use them again for our moves in the future.

I have only great things to say about Metropolitan Van and Storage. OMG, they saved our lives! Very organized, went above and beyond in all areas. Guided us to make good decisions regarding the number of packers on our main packing day, as well as how many and what types of boxes to order. After 15 years of living here we had a lot of stuff. Plus 30 years of inherited items, all kinds of items stored here by family members.

We thought we had most of our things packed but left our most precious items for last. We saw what a careful but efficient job our packers and movers were doing on all of our other things and finally cried "uncle" about the special items. So glad we did. Rob Rivera made sure that we understood the estimate and what would happen on which days. Rob was spot on. Matt Stockett took care of making sure our packers knew ahead of time what we needed. Jesus and Shawn are also stars!

All were very patient with us, always in good moods. Most of this happened during the unprecedented heat and humidity wave! And Covid practices were maintained at all times. We had all of our things delivered to a storage facility near where we'll be moving. Metro was on time. The storage facility had some rookie hiccups, but Matt, Jesus and Shawn remained calm and professional even through 112° heat and 98% humidity!

Without question, Matt and his crew are the most professional, efficient, and reliable moving crew that I have had the pleasure of working with during 4 military moves. From the first phone call I received from Matt more than a week out from my moving date to begin open dialogue, to the final signature on his tablet to complete my move, Matt set the standard in every facet of his job. Matt and his crew showed up to my house 15-20 minutes early solely to shake my hand individually and introduce themselves, walk through my house to get an idea of the layout, and spend time explaining to me the process of how they were going to pack/load and answered any and all questions I had.

They all had positive attitudes and were eager to work hard and you could tell they were passionate about giving world class customer service. It is obvious that Matt has spent thousands of his own dollars on moving equipment ranging from thick/durable drop cloths/blankets, floor pads, furniture wrapping, and large elastic bands to secure cloths and covers to all of your belongings.

They put up protective material on door frames, floors, walls, stairwells etc resulting in not a single scratch or dent to the 2 story property. I have hand built a good amount of my furniture and I did not worry once about Matt and his crew mishandling or damaging any of it. Matt, Shane, and the rest of the crew are extremely hardworking, respectful, skilled, and reliable.

I would feel completely comfortable having them move my house from point A to point B without me even being at the pickup or delivery site. Hearing Matt talk about his profession and hearing his knowledge base of it makes you rest easy as you can tell he is one of the best in his trade. I will undoubtedly request to have Matt move me later this summer and will refer friends to him at every chance I get. 10/10. Hire Matt to move you

I called and spoke to Julia about releasing our household goods in the beginning of November 2019. In just a couple of days I did everything she requested and I waited for almost a month. I asked to have our stuff delivered on a certain day in December. I waited and waited and no one followed up with me. I called back countless times, left messages with Julia and others and no one ever returned my calls.

Come to find out after contacting the military transportation, we were supposed to go through them. My question is, why didn't these people tell me that in the first place instead of wasting my time and delaying our delivery? Their service was far from outstanding. Very poor customer service!

We are very happy with our move! As a military family with kids and pets, we've got a lot going on. We met with Matt, at our Pleasant Hill location. Matt and his crew got there on a Monday and packed our whole place in 8 hours. I was so surprised! I didn't put anything in boxes, because I knew they would do it carefully and be liable if anything broke.

As Matt's crew packed, I was able to talk to them and get to know them a bit. Which was great, after all they were packing our belongings. Our things were delicately wrapped in lots of paper. We decided to drive across our beautiful country, which took us 11 days. Knowing that Matt was driving our belongings from The Bay Area all the way to South Carolina, was a relief.

Fast forward three weeks, yes it took three weeks, but honestly we were able to enjoy our trip without rushing and think about what would go where in our new house. When Matt showed up, I was so ecstatic. When the boxes were brought into our new place, I immediately started unwrapping and putting my kitchen stuff away, it felt like Christmas! I am so glad everything went smoothly, from the beginning with the surveyor, to the day of packing with Matt and his crew, and all the way to the other side of the country. We didn't find anything broken, and we got all of our stuff. We are very satisfied.

Movers lost multiple boxes and damaged furniture! My company contracted Metropolitan to cover the SF leg of my cross-country move. I had thought the move had gone smoothly until the good arrived at the destination and multiple items (painting, nightstand, speaker stand) had experienced significant damage during transport. Worse, multiple pieces of furniture were missing (only 2 of my 4 dining chairs arrived) and a significant chunk of my kitchen was missing. Strangely enough, a rug that I had never seen was delivered with the rest of my goods.

You'd think that Metropolitan would be quick to fix this bizarre situation, but it just got worse from here. It took them weeks to confirm that they had accidentally shipped some of my items to New Jersey (to the owner of the rug). Communication was delayed, and I had to consistently pursue them to make sure they were making progress on returning my stuff. More than a month later, I still don't have my chairs or boxes. If you're looking for disposal, I think they'd do a great job, but I suggest you look elsewhere for movers.

Please read this. this is my first time ever writing something like this. I had this company move me 3 miles. It was a nightmare. The packing was terrible. they damage my brand new refrigerator. $800 in damage and only paid $110 because of insurance. If that's not bad enough. I went back to the home in moved out of and there was two truck loads that I had to move. they didn't complete the JOB. I paid a lot of money I called the MGR twice with no return calls. Please use someone else

During March 18-20, 2019, my in-laws moved within California from Saratoga to Nipomo. We were totally impressed with Matt and his crew. They were prompt, efficient, and professional during all phases of packing, loading, and unloading. At both the move-out and move-in locations they covered the hardwood floors, the carpeting, the door jambs, and hallway walls thus protecting everything from damage.

My in-laws were very pleased with every aspect of the service and highly recommend Matt and his team to anyone looking for a professional, polite, responsible "moving" experience.

We just completed our move from Texas to Arizona using Atlas Moving company who utilized Matt as our driver from Metropolitan Van & Storage. I only have great things to say! We had a hiccup in Dallas, our house moved to the warehouse first and then loaded to Matt's truck. Matt took the time to re-inventory every item, having the warehouse crew unwrap each item so he could check for any damage prior to loading our goods on his truck and taking responsibility for them.

We were loaded on Tuesday and delivered on Thursday. Matt and his crew did a great job bringing our 2200 sq ft home into our now 1700 sq ft home, needless to say it was a tight squeeze. Thanks to Matt and his crew we are now all settled in our new home!

We recently used Atlas Van Lins/Metropolitan Van & Storage for our move from San Francisco to Denver. From the initial walkthrough by the Atlas representative who prepared our quote, we felt more confident in the service Atlas would provide than the three other van lines we spoke to. They provided us with the most competitive pricing and took the time to explain the process to us.

When it came time for the actual move, the team showed up promptly, took the time to properly prep our home with floor protection, and efficiently packed and cataloged all of our belongings. The next day they once again arrive on time and spent the day loading the boxes and furniture onto the truck. The Metropolitan Van & Storage driver, James Saraiva, kept me informed of his driving progress via text and arrived on the other side at the agreed upon date/time with an equally qualified team of helpers.

They unloaded the boxes and reassembled furniture and had completed the job within 3 hours. Everything arrived safely and intact. They were even kind enough to take the packing paper and boxes that we had emptied by that time to recycle, to help minimize the amount we would need to dispose of. Overall, I could not have been happier with our move experience.

My family moved from Walnut Creek California to Chardon Ohio. I have moved many times and this company with atlas/our representative Art Murray and our driver Jim S. are fantastic. Driver took GREAT CARE OF US and from the beginning to end and earned 10 stars. Worked in industry for a few years and the competition does not compare. Thanks again Art and Jim and everyone involved in our cross country move
