The staff is friendly and accommodating and the place seems secure. HOWEVER, as one reviewer stated, these units are NOT exactly as large as they say they are! My mover said the units are more like 8' wide, not 10' as advertised. I rented their largest unit, (10x35) and was told it had 9' ceilings. But, my mover said it's only 9' at the back end and tapers down.
He said the 10' x 10', which was to have 12' ceilings is no way that tall! So, RENTER BEWARE of the claimed sizes! But, I also think my mover underestimated the needed storage for my move. I should have used the mover who had his own warehouse and would have charged $575/mo. for ALL of my things. Now, I'll be forced to rent a second unit, double the size of what my mover said I needed. I can't blame this all on MDSS, but take your tape measure along!

5X5 unit is 15% smaller than advertised I rented a 5X5 unit, and I was probably more trusting than I should have been regarding the unit's size. Instead of being 60" deep, the unit was only 51" deep. THAT'S 15% SMALLER THAN i THOUGHT I WAS PAYING FOR. This meant I couldn't fit my mattress box spring in the unit, which was the main reason I rented this storage space.
When I went to the office and asked for an explanation I was told, "Units of that depth are considered 5X5 units." That's absurd, totally unacceptable, and I feel that's absolutely false advertising. I can't even imagine what the dimensions of a "5x10 unit" really are. The overall facility is clean, has moving carts near the elevator, and appears very secure, but their stated unit size, at least for unit 1088, is EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE AND DISHONEST. Dennis Cathey

Last night I had worker unloading things, I ask michaelle if I could use the toilet, I had to go real bad, she directed me to a porta potty at other end of property, I told her Iam disable cannot walk that far ( she did not care ). Porta potty in time of a Pademic? Not letting people in office But taking payment through a side window.

I've been a long time customer at Mt. Diablo Storage and Michelle and her team are so loyal and professional to their customers. They treat me as if I'm family and always make sure our storage units are well protected and keep the area very neat and clean around the property. The pricing always seems to be the best in the east bay. Thanks again Mt. Diablo Storage for working with us in these difficult times.

Moving is never fun and is always stressful. Michelle has always been so pleasant when I called in regarding renting a unit. Joyce however, was the one who assisted me. I was originally going to rent a 5x5, but she showed me a few larger size units since I am a visual person and needed to see the space in order to really know which size I truly needed.
I am glad I upgraded to the bigger 10x10 size. I felt stressed and rushed to get moved out and moved into my unit and Joyce was sweet, helpful and extremely patient with me. She made it so easy and I used the FREE rental moving truck as well. The facility itself is very clean and I feel very secure. I will be able to rent the truck for half the price of a U-Haul when I move my stuff out as well. Another plus, you can make your payments online through their website. I would rate Mt. Diablo Storage a 10 if I could! Thank you for being awesome!

Mt Diablo self-storage is Simply the Best! The manager Michelle is very courteous and professional. She will help you figure out what size unit you need and hook you up with a free use of a truck to move in. This place is very safe and secure and I feel that my belongings are safe there. If you need to store your stuff this is the place to store it!

Been storing stuff here for almost ten years now. I have had zero problems. The buildings in which the units are housed are temperature controlled (really nice if you are moving things in the summer heat). The property, buildings, and so on are kept clean, maintained, and do not ever have people living in them. The last 2 places i had storage units ended up driving me nuts due to things im not gonna go into here.
I always reccomend Mt Diablo storage when someone ask about where to go for public storage. Its worth the money knowing your belongings are 100% safe, and the main problems other storage places may have dont exist here as far as i have seen. A good and trustable storage place can be hard to find sometimes and im very happy with my dealings at Mt Diablo self storage.

I rented a 10x10 storage unit at this facility for 18 months and had no issues whatsoever. Although the monthly rate is higher than most storage places this one is climate-controlled and very clean which lent me peace of mind. I am now in the process of moving and will be renting another unit from them.

I rented a storage unit here for several months and have been very happy with both the management and the facility itself. The facility is modern, clean, and secure. There may be less expensive places out there but I feel better paying a little more and keeping my valuables safe. The manager Michelle, her husband Dave, and family live on site, and their home and office both have a good view over the property and can see and hear if anything is amiss.
They have been helpful and friendly. The office hours are until 6:00 pm. and the gates lock at 7:00. So a renter's vehicle could get locked inside the yard if he/she forgets about the time and management is not there to come to the rescue. But the 7:00 pm. gate lock time adds to the security and I like it since I know that other renters and who knows who else are not fooling around there throughout the night. I would rent a unit there again without hesitation.
